Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. I use a hire car 2-3 times a year. Decided to use Enterprise for a change because the location is more convenient. Had a phone call after booking online saying they cannot verify my address and my council tax bill, water bill, electricity bill, a bank statement, phone bill, drivers license and a payslip isn't sufficient evidence. Had to use a train instead costing 150 more plus all the hassle of public transport.
Glad I decided to go with Enterprise and not Hertz, I rented the medium van commerical and they gave us the keys to a practically brand new vehicle. Van was super clean when we picked it up which went smoothly - equally dropping it off. Unlimited mileage (drove to London and back) and one of the few places that open on Sundays. Highly recommended *****
So far worst experience I’ve had from any of the Enterprise Branches I’ve hired from and I am a regular customer(Gold member). Some of my stuff was left in the car, I realised when I got to work, I rang the branch and asked them if they can take It out of the car and leave it in the office and I will collect it in few hours and I was told yes they will, I took half a day off from work just to collect my stuff, when I got there I was told they didn’t find anything and someone tried ringing me to let me know that it wasn’t there, I didn’t have any miss calls or voicemails on my phone, I knew they were lying than they sent someone to check the car again and he said it’s not there, I am not bother about loosing whatever was in the car but the way they dealt with this situation, definitely it was the most unprofessional enterprise staff I’ve ever dealt with.

The staff weren't very warming/friendly. Was repeatedly told about the £1000 excess and that the car was 'brand new' (8k+ miles and signs of damage) which just put a downer on things. Not all damage on the vehicle was recorded. Assistant was pushing the car tyres with a finger like this was an appropriate way to check the tyres. To top it off the interior was full of fingerprints and bits, I could do a better job myself. Only used Enterprise because Hertz had quadrupled their prices, better service with Hertz (friendly, better cars for cheaper, clean interior) if you're debating between the two. Also, an unhelpful response on twitter, hence taking the time to write this review.
Booked and paid in advance and the team called me to confirm. I chose not to accept the offer of the pick-up service on this occasion (I have before) due to my own logistics. The car was ready on arrival and we were served immediately, and as always with great courtesy (they are a friendly team). Upon dropping the car back, we again received the same excellent level of Customer service and were quickly on our way
Got a free upgrade to a fancy jeep because my rental was 30 minutes behind, awesome. Tends to overcharge (by more than 200% the regular rates) when trying to rent for a single day close to holiday season (like the 20th of Dec), even if booking a couple of weeks in advance. NOT cool guys...
Gave me the wrong car! No apology as such or offer of upgrade. American customer service I think not. Only after I complained was I offered 25% next rental, then found out it didn't include VAT! Much better and professional rental services in Liverpool. Customer caution, beware.
Due to road works awkward to get to, lads are friendly and wore masks. Van was clean.
Terrible company, don't know about the locals but if your are from abroad forget your deposit. and ask about other charges before you book.

Everyone here was so friendly, helpful and very professional. I hired a van for a day, this was outside waiting for me at the requested time, in perfect order clean and ready for me to drive away. No fuss dropping it off either, a quick check upon handing in the keys and all done.

I've used Enterprise at least 6 times this year for everything from weekends to a fortnight. The staff make you feel welcome and explain everything you need to know before hand. I came to them on a referral from my brother and we have referred friends and colleagues onto them who have also had a great service. Make sure you understand what is involved, like many companies they make profit from extras or you being late, but they will usually call you an hour before you're due to bring the vehicle back to remind you, especially if you're like me and get back from your trips/meetings and fall asleep on the couch. Give them a go, if you don't like them, there are plenty of others, I've only used Avis, and I've found Enterprise the better company.
Great service by manager Martin. Few issues I had were resolved quickly,with smile and without getting personal. Please get more electric cars in the fleet, even small hybrids will do. I drive ev, and getting clunky,smelly diesel as replacement is a horrible experience. Also they dont charge for alloy scratches, great policy. I bet it saves them a lot of hassle arguing that on return with customers.
I really like Enterprise in Oxford but unfortunately the ones in Birkenhead and Liverpool dont provide the promised American Customer Service. It is really a joke to be honest everytime I go there and see this AD. They tried to push me a 8 seater van, when I asked the 9 seater. Then I said, ok I will get a 9 seater at the Liverpool Branch. Then they said No No No, we have few here but they are dirty... I got the 9 seater in the end. No problem about being dirty or having few Diesel. I just feel like they act as we are stupid... Liverpool same thing... the desk people are very friendly in both brands but the blonde guy (who I think is the manager. He was in both branch both times, different days I was in there), this guy is a piece of work... I booked online to get the car back at 5pm, and they forced me to bring the car back by 4pm.... the branch closes at 6pm. To be fair it was 31 December. What bothers me is that the online service doesnt match the times in the branch. If you are renting a car during Bank Holidays/Public Holidays go with Arnold Clarks (few yards down Enterprise Liverpool), they are amazing and opened during Public Holidays. I hired a 7 seater during Easter Holidays. After that I dont hire with Enterprise anymore. I found Arnold Clarks. Their Customer service is an American Standard. They are open long hours, have a great selection of new cars, the girls at the desk are very friendly, they are based behind the train station, or they collect you anywhere in Liverpool. And you get 25% on your 6th rental.

I can’t describe how amazing these guys are... returned the car early and they refunded the rest of my booking! So helpful as expected.
The staff had a very busy day so we had to wait half an hour for the car, but they were very apologetic and did all they can to deal with a busy influx. We were not in a rush and received a free upgrade, so we were still happy with the service. In particular, there was a gentleman (whose name I unfortunately cannot remember) and a woman (Sam) who were really pleasant to deal with

Awful. cracked windscreen (explained to staff before leaving) they charged me giving the car back. Slow puncture which was flat the next day after picking the car up. Spare tire punctured. Giving the car back i got charged for all repairs and more. What else could go wrong!

Rented a van to move some rubbish to the tip. Booked online for a good price. Pick up was quick and easy. They inspected the van with me before I took it to make sure I wouldn't be held responsible for any dents or dings. Returned the van later that day and was refunded the deposit. Very happy with the service.

The only reason I give 4 stars is as the 1st car we got had a window wiper problem and was rather dirty. But this was soon rectified by the lovely member if staff who drove all the way to Manchester airport from Liverpool to get us another. The replacement was great. From start to finish we received 1st class customer service

I give them 1 star because I can't give them less of that. I booked a car for the next day, at the next morning they call me to take my details and make the process faster. When I finished all the questions, he told me that apparently my address and details didn't match because I'm not registered for the electoral vote. I asked the guy if a bill wouldn't be ok to prove that I'm living where I said, and they said no. No other options offered, after paying everything. The previous day, before taking the car on its webpage I read carefully all the terms, conditions,licenses, etc (as my driving license was from a EU country and not England) and there was no specification whatsoever of that stupid excuse the company gave me. So this is my question, when a tourist want to come to visit the country by car, they directly don't rent it, because that person is not registered in the electoral vote???? What a non sense is this? I'd heard some friends of mine saying they had the same problem (company put some weird excuse so they couldn't rent anything) but I wanted to try as Enterprise is a famous brand. Never again. I went to other company (Sixt) to rent a car the same day and there was no problem AT ALL! Easy like that.

Aside from being quite reasonable the service from Enterprise has always been first rate and each time I have used them I've had a literal, service with a smile.
I have rented from enterprise many times over the years. However, the hassle involved in hiring a vehicle has worsened so that I might now use a different company. I completed a lengthy form online, was rung and had to give the same and more details over the phone, had to give the same and more details in the branch (including lots of unnecessary details such as three phone numbers and what I was using the vehicle for ). The staff aggressively try to sell extra insurance. While I was in the branch this time I overheard a member of staff trying to charge a girl £1000 for a 'scuff' on her hire car. Having said all this, the vehicles are good and cheap.

Rented a van online, day before the rental I received a call saying that the system doesn't reconize if they have or not vans available (but they still charge you, just in case) and they don't have a van for me after. It was a nightmare has I had to move house that day and I couldn't because them, awful service. Don't rent with them, are plenty of choices outhere

Great selection of vehicles, the most helpful staff I have met anywhere. Wanted to hire a people carrier at short notice and they had me sorted within the hour. Best bit is they don't require any of this nonsense £1000 - £2000 pre-authorisation on your credit card unlike other major car hire companies. I think the guy who helped me was called Adam, couldn't rate him highly enough.

Truly awful experience. Paid nearly £600 in advance for rental of a people carrier which I subsequently had to cancel due to a family bereavement. This was over a month ago and I am still waiting for my refund. Have called numerous times only to be fobbed off with some garbage about the refund department being based in the US, and all that our British customer service team can do is email them. I am not even able to speak to the person who is responsible for issuing my refund apparently. So to summarise - a pathetic bunch of American thieves - avoid at all costs.
This place is a joke. Booked a van through prepaid and went down to the office to pick up the vehicle. Where they kept me waiting 2 hours they made me sign in to their car club instead . After a few days checked my bank and realised they've charged me twice. Well they said they are gonna refund its been more than 2 weeks still waiting. Left my wallet in the van too I phoned them to get it and they said to ring back later when I phoned back again they said to call in the morning cuz they were shut. I did phone next day and they had a quick look while i was on the phone and said it wasn't there. Never using this company again. Robbing b*****ds!!!
They gave me a van with 1/4 of tank.i brought it back with just a little less than 1/4.And i ecplain to the staff.They told me no worries they will put more petrol and charge from my deposit.The next day i see the charged me £25 extra for the petrol.If this is how they look after the customers they are no clever.Example next time i will rent in Sixt just round the corner and all the cars are in much better state and they never do this petrol doggie thing.Is very clear.in business if you take care of your customers they always.come back.And in Enterprise Liverpool they don't do.it.

Placed an order to rent a car for 2 days. Nowhere at all did it mention throughout placing the order that they required a £200 deposit on the day. Come to find out it's buried in their FAQ's. They call me 36 hours before I'm due to pick the car up advising of this and lo and behold, a cancellation fee of £40 is in effect due to it being within 72 hours of the reservation. Disgusting business tactics and completely misleading. Will never use this company again.

before I booked the car I had quotation and it was very good price ,so I booked the car .but on the day of collection I was told that I have to purchase full insurance cover over £300 on top if I want this car .It was to late for me to change anything so I had to pay the extra £300. not happy at all .no one has told me about the insurance. when I had my quote .if I will know about this early I will find the car somwhere else
1-10-18 Six of us dropped off our nine seater Ford Transit rental van at Liverpool and were met by manager Taphael Montrose. He immediately apologised for our unsatisfactory pick up experience at Heathrow on 9-9-18 and refunded us monies due to compensate us. If you want a very good customer experience with Enterprise UK, make sure you ask to communicate with Taphael Montrose. He is good for business.

Not very profesional ,never return calls and had property stolen from their office just keep getting fobed off when ever i call over this matter oh and all of a suden manager at time property went missing as all of a sudden left not working there no more i wonder why ?? I will get to the bottom of this not letting this go picked on wrong person this time ???????? must be a terrible thing knowing you have thievs working for you . If i dont get any answers soon not getting fobed of no more think this is a matter for the police and si be it .

Rented a van, gave all details over the phone so I could pick up keys and go when I got there (that’s what I was told on the phone) I got there they tried to insult my intelligence by giving me a van as big as kangoo and try to tell me it’s the same size as a vivaro, I was upgraded to a long wheel base for free which was good. However the process of taking the van took another hour, I had to go over the whole details again ones they had already been given. The fella in my opinion seemed nervous so possibly new, I was walked round the vehicle with a stupid white card to check for damage (there was none). I brought the van back and once again had to walk round checking the van inside and out (it hadn’t been cleaned when I picked it up so thought it was amusing he was checking inside it). I was asked if everything had been ok I said yes he asked me was there anything they could do better almost like he wanted me to compliment his service. I suggested basically trying to speed up the process of checking out as in Sixt they scan your card give you the keys and you go. Here they want your details, your next of kins, your dogs, your neighbours dog and all signed in blood with a royal assent from the queen. When I gave ‘feedback’ he became quite arrogant and said it was because his tablet wasn’t working and my payment wouldn’t go through he kept saying to me don’t you remember you had a problem with your payment and I said to him no, and he was laughing like yes you did. It was insulting to my intelligence to think this child could even think he could confuse me. Definitely need training and I will not be returning and should have stayed with Sixt where they treat you like a customer and look after you. My advice do not go here seriously look elsewhere:)

Cancelled my booking less than 1 hour before pick up due to unavailability. Left me up shi* creek. My booking was last minute late in the previous evening but need to update their website/software so this does not happen. Highly recommend Europcar, their system told me straight away if a car was available even out of hours.

Excellent service and easy process to hire a car despite the lockdown. I was lucky enough to get a special offer as I work for the NHS. Staff was friendly and helpful. A big thank you to the lovely lady, I think her name was Charlotte, who assisted me in a very professional way.

The car I was given was good. Customer service is TERRIBLE! With arrangements on my trip with trains, ferry, and a flight I called and asked if I could return the vehicle after hours (because you can do it anywhere else) and I was told no and wasn't given any other option but a click on the phone, and I have to figure it out on my own. Called around to see if I could return to a different location and was successfully able to. This would of been nice to know before I had to make multiple phone calls and almost spending $600 in my own money to rearrange my bookings. Thankful for enterprise at Manchester Airport! This location is the worst, unfortunately I still have to give a 1 star.
No problems for me
I had to fill up the tank 3 times before the sensor registered I'd filled up. I put in at least 10 litres extra due to this error. The woman I gave the keys said they'd refund me £20 but it would take longer than to refund the deposit. It has been 2 weeks and nothing so clearly she was lying. Update: having emailed the email address in their response they have repeatedly said they will refund me including on a call with a guy claiming to be the manager but it has been over a month and nothing has happened.
