This has to be the worst car hire I have ever experienced. I would never hire a car (or try to) from Budget car rentals again! Rude and unhelpful staff!!!!

AVIOD AVIS BUDGET LIVERPOOL AIRPORT. Complete rip off. Charged me an additional £30 for "cleaning and maintenance". The car wasn't dirty. I'd hired it to attend a funeral and didn't get into it with muddy shoes or anything. And as for the maintenance the car didn't have any water in the screen wash so when driving on the motorway couldn't clean the windscreen. Could hardly see on the motorway so had to pull into a service station and pay to fill up with water. Booked through easyjet. Wont be using them again.

I am very upset with what happened to us . We arrived at the airport to pick up the "rented" car and the outlet was closed !! We had to find another company there and then . Now I have already sent e-mails and I have also called from Malta to no avail. I am still waiting to be refunded all the money I have paid !

(Translated) I booked a Peugeot 2008 they gave me an Opel astra which is a sedan and not a compact one. I arrived at the car it was very dirty both externally and internally on the seats. There was no one to report the thing to and so I had to go back to the desk, walk 10 minutes in the rain and claim another car. I arrived back where the cars are and a young lady arrived shortly after she was in a hurry and did not want to give me time to check the car. After I got angry, he waited, but when he told me of a damage on the right rearview mirror he refused to report it on the contract saying that it was already written on the characteristics of the car, he wrote only his name and serial number. Finally I picked up the new and clean car but after a very short road the petrol hand immediately went down a notch so the tank was not delivered to me full. Sono arrivato alla macchina era molto sporca sia esternamente che internamente sui sedili. Non c'era nessuno a cui segnalare la cosa e quindi sono dovuto tornare al desk, 10 minuti a piedi con la pioggia e pretendere un'altra auto. Sono arrivato di nuovo dove sono le macchine e un signorina è arrivata dopo poco andava di fretta e non voleva darmi il tempo di controllare l'auto. Dopo essermi arrabbiato ha atteso ma alla mi segnalazione di un danno sullo specchietto retrovisore destro si rifiutava di segnalarlo sul contratto dicendo che era già scritto sulle caratteristiche della macchina mi scriveva solo il suo nome e numero matricola. Finalmente ho ritirato la macchina nuova e pulita ma dopo pochissima strada la lancetta della benzina scendeva subito di una tacca quindi il serbatoio non mi è stato consegnato pieno. Davvero poco professionali e poco cortesi.

Worst service ever. Today I booked to hire a van with budget car. Only to be refused on arrival due to an apparent credit check that showed I was living with parents. I provided a driving license, passport, credit card, credit card statement, bank statement and have been living at the address for over seven years being on the electoral roll etc. Kevin the smug judgemental man behind the desk, simply turned round and said I was not able to have the van. When asking for a refund he refused. He called me a d*ck head. This a true storey, this guy should be sacked, vile individual.

He accompanies me to the car and I show him the damage, informing him that I would like to report it and see it appear on the contract. He prints out a new rental contract on which he indicates in pen his employee number as well as the words “Unchargeable damage”, informing me that all the damage that I tell him is only minor damage for which the company does not. may request compensation when the vehicle is returned. I trust him. I am a very careful driver, especially when I am driving someone else's car. I took great care of the car and had absolutely no problems. No shock, no contact, everything went perfectly well. However, when the vehicle was returned, the employee who was there to greet me criticized me for having damaged the front tires. He shows me the sidewalls of the tires, informing me that little bits of rubber are missing and that this is certainly due to an impact with a curb. I replied that it was impossible, I had no shock and moreover those bits of rubber were already missing when I got the car back! He does not want to hear anything and calculates on his PDA the amount I will have to pay, informing me that the company will have to replace the tires because they are dangerous. This is also completely wrong: I work in the automotive industry and tires are a product that I know very well. I had indeed noticed when picking up the vehicle that the sidewalls of the front tires were damaged but nothing dangerous. If there had been a danger, I would not have put my wife and my 10 month old daughter in the car and driven 200 km! Indeed I had already rented a car a few weeks ago from the same agency and everything went well. I had been satisfied with the service and that is why I decided to re-rent a vehicle at this agency even though there were lower prices from competitors. This agency shows great dishonesty in trying to increase the bill or change the tires of its vehicles at the expense of its customers. In addition, I paid a deposit in the form of a pre-authorization via my bank card, in the amount of £ 200, or approximately € 228. This company is now charging me € 315 or around £ 276. I therefore approach my bank and Mastercard to request the cancellation of this payment for which I have not given my consent. (Original) Lors de la signature du contrat à l’agence de Liverpool Airport, le conseiller m’informe des dégâts connus sur le véhicule loué. Il s’agit d’une rayure sur une jante à l’avant. Arrivé sur le parking, je fais le tour de la voiture et constate qu’il y a d’autres dégats non signalés notamment sur les pneus avant et au niveau de la carrosserie (rayures superficielles et petites bosses). Je me rapproche d’un autre conseiller présent dans le box au niveau du parking. Il m’accompagne à la voiture et je lui montre les dégâts en l’informant que j’aimerai les signaler et les voir apparaître sur le contrat. Il imprime un nouveau contrat de location sur lequel il indique au stylo son numéro d’employé ainsi que la mention “Unchargeable damage” en m’informant que tous les dégâts dont je lui fais part ne sont que des dégâts mineurs pour lesquels la société ne peut demander réparation lors de la restitution du véhicule. Je lui fais confiance. Je suis un conducteur très prudent, d’autant plus lorsque je conduis la voiture de quelqu'un d’autre. J’ai pris énormément soin de la voiture et n’ai rencontré absolument aucun problème. Pas le moindre choc, aucun contact n’a eu lieu, tout s’est parfaitement bien passé. Pourtant, lors de la restitution du véhicule, l’employé présent pour m’accueillir me reproche d’avoir abîmé les pneus avant. Il me montre les flancs des pneus en m’informant que de petits bouts de gomme y sont manquant et que cela est dû à un choc certainement avec un trottoir. Je lui répond alors que c’est impossible, je n’ai eu aucun choc et de plus ces bouts de gomme manquaient déjà au moment ou j’ai récupéré la voiture ! Celui-ci ne veut rien entendre et calcule sur son PDA le montant que je vais devoir payer en m’informant que la compagnie va devoir remplacer les pneus car ils sont dangereux. Cela est par ailleurs tout à fait faux : je travaille dans l’automobile et le pneumatique est un produit que je connais très bien. J’avais effectivement remarqué lors de la prise du véhicule que les flancs des pneus avant étaient abîmés mais rien de dangereux. S’il y avait eut un danger, je n’aurai pas installé pas femme et ma fille de 10 mois dans la voiture et parcouru 200 km ! Et si ces pneus présentent un risque comme me l’indique l’employé, pourquoi m’avoir loué le véhicule dans cet état ? C’est regrettable, et je suis très déçu de AVIS / BUDGET. En effet j’avais déjà loué une voiture il y a quelques semaines dans la même agence et tout s’était bien passé. J’avais été satisfait du service et c’est d’ailleurs pour cela que j’avais décidé de relouer un véhicule dans cette agence alors même qu’il y avait des prix plus bas chez des concurrents. Cette agence fait preuve d’une grande malhonnêteté en essayant de faire grimper la note ou de faire changer les pneus de ses véhicules au frais de ses clients. Par ailleurs, j’ai versé via ma carte bancaire une caution sous forme de pré-autorisation, d’un montant de 200£ soit environ 228 €. Cette société me débite aujourd’hui 315 € soit environ 276£. Je me rapproche donc de ma banque et de Mastercard pour demander l’annulation de ce paiement pour lequel je n’ai pas donné mon accord.

I hired a car on the friday for the weekend at liverpool depot. My first time renting a car. I left my licence at the desk with the girl. On returning the car on sunday the office was shut. I phoned them on the monday once I had flew home and they confirmed my licence was there and I asked them to post it. I still havent received it and now cant get through to them even sitting on the line for over 40 minutes twice. Not impressed, if I could give no stars I would. impressedorecommend.
