I went here with a friend recently who is learning to drive. I've never given a driving lesson before, and had no idea what to do with these dual controls. The staff were really friendly and efficient. Got our booking sorted out fast and had us on our way. I'd definitely recommend them in future.

Very disappointed, they had 3 16 seater vans on site but refused to rent me one, I offered to get it covered by my own insurance but she refused still, her response was "we only rent them to big business" it's companies like this that have caused small businesses to close down because there not willing to treat them like equals.

Almost an excellent service the Van we rented was a 3.5 meter long wheel base Ford Transit which was a 70 plate vehicle with around 4444 miles only on the clock. Used for picking up a sofa for my home. The initial interaction and booking stage was excellent customer service provided by a lady called Kelly thank you 5⭐ ???? On the day we went to collect should have only needed to show licence and pay with the card we booked it on. Anyway I wasn't told about the mileage limit of only 250 for the day as I told Kelly I am using it to go Bedford a 178 mile trip 1 way and back. So it went £95 initial rental then to cover any damages and £1000 access protection price went to £110 then added a second driver £122 which was prepaid, now the unlimited mileage fees of £20 took the total to £142 for just 24 hour hire is a bit of a piss take when a few weeks back I rented a high top transit from PSD Van Rentals £57 it had unlimited mileage and it was brand new and presented in even more sparkling condition from inside which I used to pick up a double bed and mattress from exact same location. I didn't add a second driver on that occasion but just think they should be upfront about charges I done the whole trip on 1 full tank and filled her up last night ready for the morning. They should at least allow you 1 full tank a day when hiring a van. Just common sense you would have thought from a company so majestic as Arnold Clark they are not a mediocre company so thats a constructive criticism and comparison to another local company one could use for a cheaper price. Also to add the steering on the van could do with a front wheel tracking alignment as it was a tad to the left and it wasn't great to drive on a windy day all that way and back having to put it straight made the car veered to the right so something to fix on a 70 plate van it should drive straight as an arrow. Other then that excellent drive, customer service and collection and return was smooth and stress free experience. P.S you got 4⭐ lucky not 3 as they was open for Sunday and I only needed the Van for 1 day other rental companies wanted me to take it from Saturday to Monday and it just wasn't possible as both me and my partner work Monday to Friday so 4 Stars if you get your prices down to earth you would be a 5 star service provider I doubt that not. Currently using the dual pedal car hire to learn to drive. At £15 an hour it's an excellent service, it's simple and quick to get approved for the hire. The staff I've spoken to all seem friendly and polite. Definitely recommend to anyone looking on learning to drive if they have someone who can teach them the basics before going for a crash course or test.

Very straightforward renting process, helpful staff, brand new car (1100 miles on the clock) and competitive prices. Due to emergency, I had to walk-in at 9am to rent a vehicle without booking online beforehand - no problem whatsoever. I was able to complete all paperwork and drive away in under 15 minutes. I would recommend to anyone and definitely use again.

My Husband rented a Van from here last year when we were moving house. He went through the usual procedure as you would do. When he took the rental out he signed the Insurance Waver. Which is reality is a load of absolute rubbish. He was involved in a bump through no fault of his own, and had to swerve to get out of danger and ended up getting caught under a bridge. Long story short he called me I rang Arnold Clarke and explained to the lady on the phone in the office what had happened and she asked if he took out the Waver and I said yes cos he had. So I said will he be liable for any damages caused to the vehicle and she said NO cos he took the Insirance Waver out. But a while later I rang back up to double check and was told the exact same thing. So he goes to the office and pays the £999.99 which is the Waver fee. So we paid it and that was that. Then few weeks down the line we gets a phone call of a solicitor on behalf of Arnold Clarke saying we had to pay in full for the damage caused to the van. This is absolute and utter b******t cos we read through the policy before we rented the van and there was nothing in the clause to say any persons would be liable for any damages caused of the Waver was taken out. But when he checked the clause again it's all changed what a surprise. Soy advice DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. They try and bleed you dry to avoid having to pay out themselves. Thanks for nothing Arnold Clarke ????????????????

Staff really unpleasant, I would never rent car from this branch again. Its hectic here. The lady who gave us the key and opened the booth for some reason and took 10 minutes of our time just to do the paperwork. We had already paid and done all the bookings and had the fast track card. She spoke in a very roud tone and said she wants the keys back right at 4:30. At the end I asked if I could use the toilet and she said go to the Costa across the road. ????

Next to impossible to get them to answer the phone. Called 10 times today over the course of 4 hours. No answer. Get put through to the call centre in Glasgow who try to call them and then just get back to you saying they’re not answering. Called a week ago and someone just picked up the phone and then immediately hung up. Absolute joke!

I went to pick up a car that i booked from a third party broker website. Went here to pickup the car. They told me to get passport and proof of address (i'm a international student). Got back with requested document now they told me my driving licence not long enough since issuance date. Swapped driver with my friend and they changed the car (downgrade).

Hired a car from Arnold (Absolute joke) Clark and from start to finish they are a nightmare. Price Shown online is lies, when you get there it's double. They obviously think normal people like you and me are stupid but reality is it's these bums who are stupid. Badly run s**t hole with lying scruffy unqualified & arrogant staff. Bottom line is..... seriously stay away from this 2 bit run down s**t hole there are other decent car hire companies around Liverpool which I learned of the hard way. Shame on you mr Arnold Clark and shame on me for trusting your name. Now when I hear the name I vomit in my mouth and after speaking to other car hire companies they already know of these lying toe rags and their horrible work ethics. This company needs to go back to Scotland and smoke some haggis.

After being let down by Europcar who told us no van was available an hour before we we're due to pick it up Arnold Clark Liverpool saved the day. The girls were very helpful on pick up and drop off. Nearly new van got us to Milton Keynes and back trouble free. Great customer service, would definitely use again.

The worst costumer service I have ever seen. So rude and arrogant. I booked a dual-p for DVLA test from 8 till 12. Been there before 8. They kept me in the queue for 30 min because the only costumer service in there, she didn't know her job. When l complained, she purposely made step for us! Asked me to generate the code from gov website and telling me " I dont care its not my job". But I booked the same car more than 4 times in the past and she could find the record to process the paper work. She wasted too much time and she just was so rude to me. No apologies for delay! In exam centre The examiner noticed there is a screw in the tier, so the test was cancelled. There were no spare tier. I couldn't do anything. My advise: be careful if you hire! Check the car carefully. I didn't like the staffs behaviour at all.????????????

My daughter managed to get a last minute driving test but with no acceptable car available the nearest Dual Control Car Hire for Learners was in Liverpool. Arnold Clark staff were wonderful. Not only did they make sure she had the same car every time (so no need to adjust seats etc), they were very helpful when her test was cancelled at the last minute! Another test was organised two days later Tracey at Arnold Clark did everything she could to help and was so understanding. I cannot praise her enough. They were truly pleased to hear she'd passed on her first attempt! Thank you for a really pleasant experience: we had the use of a lovely 2020 Corsa, at a reasonable price which meant plenty of practice! The ease of hiring, the helpful staff and even a voucher towards purchasing her first car!

Rang Head Office to complain as to why they wanted £120.00 MORE than Enterprise for the same vehicle at the same time etc, and was put through to one if their manager's who, quite frankly didn't seem interested.........
