Terrible car rental agency. I made a reservation online through their website, walked in even earlier than my reservation time, and the guy said “yeah we don’t have any cars available. We don’t guarantee online reservations since the website is in the USA”. And the funny thing is he claimed I am not the only one who have had this experience. People have shown him the finger and he is being yelled at all the time. You would thing all this experience would make them to start change whatever is wrong, but nope. They are comfortable sending back customers home unsatisfied.

RUNNING A SCAM I've had multiple issues with these guys. For example, I recently made a reservation for one day, picking the car up on Saturday. Because they are closed Sunday afternoons, I was told that I could drop it off anytime after hours. I got my bill, only to be charged for two days. When i called, I was told this is their policy to charge for an extra day if it is returned after hours (even if you return the car at the scheduled time), but they would make an exception for me. Never have I heard of a rental company trying to charge you for two days because they are closed at your time of return! They also have a significant surcharge for snow tires that they do not mention anywhere online. Highly unethical to charge extra for safety equipment. They do not provide any of the upgrades that are allegedly included with Hertz Gold membership or corporate account. Be careful!

I have had a great experience renting with Hertz. I make my reservations online and they always give me good cars. The staff are very friendly. I have rented from this branch several times. They used to pick you up and drop you home but recently they stopped doing that. They are even flexible to make changes to your reservation. I recommend Hertz for car rentals.

Great staff, friendly service. Knowledgeable about products for the type of travel and customer. Incredibly convenient to use and cheaper than Enterprise. No surprise for final cost, and different options make sure you get your moneys worth. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Worst experience...I used to rent from Hertz Bank st once a month...after they closed I decided to rent from this location....I called early morning and asked if I could get same car I usually get....the help desk was NOT HELPFUL at all I went to pick up the car...I asked again if I could get the same car I usually get and I mentioned what I asked on the phone in the morning....the answer was "NO we dont have it now. You called early morning and came end of the day!" That answer just shocked me. I canceled my reservation and never ever again go to this location.

It is my second time renting here, after rented close to a 100 rental days this year from various of Hertz locations across the Canada. By far, this is the worst experience I have ever had with Hertz, it even tops the grumpy man I encountered when I returned my rental in Manchester, United Kingdom. I have rented from other non airport location in Ottawa and a nicer upgrade for president circle member is always offered. Besides the upgrade, I always look forward to a nice and friendly conversation with the rental agent, even if it slows me down. This location is different, it is so bad that is one of its kind. The lady at this office definitely hates her job. No smile throughout the entire process, the two words for returning car is: “hi”,”thank you”. I was also told when I was picking up the car, this location does not participate in the Hertz Gold program, but then I noticed those posters in the rental office promotions Hertz gold program, how generous! Will never come here again????. I would be better off just renting the day rate from Communauto if this place has no recognition for its most loyal customer!

Takes awhile for them to answer the phone. No shuttle services here. No winter tires on their cars. Service is fairly smooth though, no issues.

Booked a car online. Went to the location an hour after booking to only find out they don't have any available cars. They were not helpful and told me this happens all the time. I do not recommend using Hertz.

Zero flexibility when it comes to solving formal issues. You can't use any payment card other the a certified credit card. Don't even dare asking for any other deposit option. I wasted an entire day to solve a situation and the stuff, polite and pleasent, didn't even bother to try and give a considerable solution. For example, nobody offered I can save cash and time to return a rental car on a late hour procedure. Other that, everything was fine. Good value for a nice truck that fit my needs.

Good service in person but they never answer the phone and the selection isn’t great. They always have competitive prices which makes up for the rest and one of the employees even gave me a break when I forgot to fill up with gas. Overall a good place to get your rental.

Horrible experience , This morning The agent refuse rent my mom a car because she asked for something bigger and the bigger car they offered had a fee bumps which she obviously redused ! Then said he wouldn’t rent her a car and ask her to leave and said he will Call the police because she waa threatening him ( while she waa just speaking creole ) Once i called him , he said we didn’t have a reservation which im the one who made it ! Got mad and started being rude he didn’t even let me have a word in ! And Hang up ! This is HORRIBLE customer service ans pure racism which is UNACCEPTABLE to top all that he started taking a video of my mom and wouldn’t erase it witch is ILLEGAL ! Monday Morning i will sure be in to make a complaint about this unqualified agent !

Booked a vehicle a month in advance to drive out east for a funeral only to find out the day before when I called to confirm they didn’t have any vehicles. Was left scrambling last minute to find a rental elsewhere. There is no point in booking in advance. I had booked in advance at a competitive price only to have to book elsewhere last minute at double the price.

Fast and courteous service! I ended up receiving an upgrade! ???????? Other reviewers mentioned cars not being available for online reservations. In my case, I called the day before pickup to confirm and there was no problem! Will definitely use this location again!
