Over the Christmas holidays I found myself in desperate need of a minivan. With all of the major rental companies sold out, I decided to give GSA a try. Because the other companies charge $28.00-$40.00 per day for vans that are no more than a couple of years old, I was surprised to find that the van, for which GSA charged me $65.00 per day, appeared to be at least ten years old and probably closer to 15. After two days when I returned the car at the prearranged time, Terry, the owner, was out of the office and asked me to put the keys under the mat. It was at that time that I explained that the rusted, well scratched very old van he had rented me was not safe to drive at night due to the fact that the headlights would not stay on. As a result I actually had to borrow a car to get my kids safely from place to place on Christmas Eve, as the very expensive rental van was useless for that purpose. Terry's response when made aware of the fact that he had rented me a car that could not be driven safely at night was surprisingly cavalier. He thanked me for letting him know about the problem and said he’d take care of it, then happily charged me the full amount for the privilege of leaving the van parked in my friend’s driveway for two days. A follow up email to Terry has gone unanswered. If you're in a pinch and Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, National, and Wrent-a-Wreck are all sold out, then call GSA. As long as you go in knowing that what you'll be getting is an older car that may or may not be road safe, and nothing in the way of customer service.

Super friendly! We had pre-ordered a rental car from a major rental company at the airport only to find out they wouldn't take our Visa because it is debit, not credit. The other car rental agencies said the same thing. However, they each recommended GSA and gave us Terry's number. We found out that Terry was at home, but was willing to drive 30 minutes to pick us up and rent us a car. Such a nice guy. That's quality service.

Great experience with GSA Rentals! GSA has the very BEST prices on ths island. I'm talking 50% better than his competition. They offers older cars that are very well maintained. Interesting strategy that differentiates himself from the big rental companies. The owner Terry was very friendly, accommodating, and responsive. He picked up my family from the ferry and provided many helpful travel tips. If you're looking to rent a fun car from a great guy, GSA Rentals is for you.

Very handy shuttle service from the ferry terminal to avoid the extra fees for taking a car on the ferry. Ideal for exploring the Island when visiting from the mainland. We booked a compact car and got a Chrysler PT cruiser which was great.

Terry was great and super friendly! The rates were reasonable and we rented a Jeep for a few days to go to Ucluelet and Tofino. We actually had an emergency situation where we took the ferry to Victoria because we missed our ferry to Nanaimo. We cancelled our Nanaimo reservation and when we got to Victoria, every car rental place was sold out. A friendly gentleman at the rental desk gave us Terry's number and he was so kind to pick us up from the Airport and drop us to the ferry on the way back. Great service, I would HIGHLY recommend GSA.

These guys were able to rent to us on a spur of the moment, without a reservation, late on a Friday, just as all the other chain-places were closing. They even had a minivan, which the owner was using as a personal car. And their rates were completely reasonable given the situation. Great to work with!

Highly recommend this company. We rented a car from them for a week in the gulf islands. The car was great. Clean, comfortable, ran well, and cost much less than any other companies' rental offerings. The best part of the rental was Terry, who was exceptionally helpful and went out of his way to make the trip a success for us. Of the many car rental experiences we have had in Canada and the rest of the world, this was by far the best.

After having initially put a deposit down for a Hertz rental car using my debit/visa card online, when I had arrived at their airport location to pay the remanding amount on our rental car I was told I couldn't use the card I had used to put a deposit down on because it wouldn't authorize like a proper credit card would, as it was a debit visa. Not being able to pay in any other method except credit as well as being told that I would have to go through Hertz Corporate to get my refund back(5-10 busniness days later) I was in a panic. I was told that all of the corporately owned car rentals work this way and was given Terry's business card for GSA at that point. As soon as we gave him a call he came personally to pick myself and my husband up at the airport and took us to his office. The rental process was very quick, cheaper then the rates we were given by the other rental companies, and he was very accommodating. The car we rented was great on gas and drove great on the highways. When we came to drop the car off Terry gave us a shuttle back to the airport for our flight out. Thanks so much Terry for saving our vacation!

Terry was extremely helpful with my very first visit to Victoria to attend a wedding. The vehicle was great and just what I asked for, roomy and comfortable since I had alot of travellijg to do. The rates are very much affordable especially while travelling in an expensive province. I went from Syndney to Victoria, to Toffino and back to Victoria. I would never go back to renting any other company but this one. Supporting local business during these times especially is very important to me. Hands down BEST SERVICE and ALL expectations me 100%. Thank you again Terry you made my travels amazing!!! Accommodation matters but a reliable vehicle to get you from point A to B is even more important - food for thought from Gatineau QC. BTW he has a great sense of humor and is very thoughtful with his clients.

I had a great experience with Terry. The airport was essentially sold out and I got a car for 50% less than what I would have at the airport. It is a used car fleet but it was perfect for our needs. Terry was a pleasure to deal with, incredibly responsive & very trustworthy. I even forgot my license their and he mailed it back to me next day no questions asked. Terry and GSA were an absolute live-saver for me! Had booked a very special mother-daughter road trip vacation through Vancouver Island, and, because of a technical anomaly, we were dropped from our mainstream rental car company, and no other national brand would rent us a car. We were literally going to lose deposits on all the hotels we had booked around the island, and would have had a very sorry vacation huddled down near the airport. It was potentially devastating. And then someone suggested we call Terry and GSA. Terry could not have been more kind and understanding when we called him. In a brief phone call, he saved our vacation. Terry came to pick us up at the airport, arranged all the rental paperwork easily, gave us a great vehicle at a great value, and our trip turned from a disaster into a perfect holiday in the space of about half an hour. We loved the car we rented, it had fabulous gas mileage (got an entire four day road trip in on less than ¾ a tank of gas), handled easily…just an all-around wonderful trip, thanks to Terry. I hadn’t considered GSA because I thought I’d need the convenience of an airport rental car location, but Terry arranges for transport to and from his firm, so it’s a non-issue. BEST rental car agency ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We recently rented a van from Terry. We were stranded at the Abbotsford airport with our family of 5 and Avis screwed up our rental we had for a month. Terry saved our trip and rented us a used older van and accepted debit (also accepts the load & go and prepaid credit credit cards cards) He saved our research trip! He was very easy to deal with and the vehicle worked well for us for the 4 days. They are older vehicles in his fleet but it makes sense since we didn't have a credit card for the transaction. This business fills a void that Avis, Budget, National car rental companies cant fill for people who dont operate with real credit cards!

A pretty friendly car rental agency. Terry will pick you up from the ferry or airport. He had some newer cars and some older cars. The one I had wasn't clean but his quick friendly service more than made up for it.

I absolutely love GSA and highly recommend them! I called about a week ahead and said we do not have a credit card and Terry said No problem, they didn't require one. We also didn't have a way to get from the airport to his location, again he said, No problem, he would pick us up at no extra cost. The cars may not be brand new like your other, bigger car rental agencies, but who cares? They are clean, well maintained and reliable. Most importantly, they get you from Point A to Point B! Terry picked us up at the airport very shortly after we landed, was super friendly on the drive to his office and the paperwork process was smooth and quick and then he sent us on our way with a smile. On the day we returned to drop off the car, Jack was there waiting for us and right away gave us a ride back to the airport, no waiting at all. Again, super friendly, chatted with us the whole way and wished us well for our way home. If we end up flying back to the Island again, rather than drive ourselves, I will not even look at the bigger rental companies. I will go directly to GSA. Thank you Terry and Jack for making this so easy and enjoyable for us :)

Terry is quite friendly, and like the green rental company, he'll pick you up. For sure his cars have more than 1000kms on them; nevertheless they are in great condition and well appointed. His prices are most reasonable. We had a van for 10 days and saved $100s over the regular names you think of first, but shouldn't. Initial reach out was done by email, then form on his website. Painless. Next visit to the Island will have me again calling GSA.

Supurb place to rent a car if you like good prices and great service. Terry the owner goes out of his way to make sure you receive the best of both. The cars are not new but run well and overall are in decent shape. I rented a Ford Focus wagon for a trip up Island. It ran well, was good on gas and when I needed a little extra time Terry was more than accommodating. I wholeheartedly recommend this as an alternative to the more expensive , less friendly major brands you usually find at the airports.

Great price and service. We are happy to have found the auto rental, given the short supply after provincial travel restrictions were lifted. The rental agency is 11 minutes from the airport, and their daily rates is a lot better than the competition. The car was in good condition, clean, and reliable.
