We had a car rented for us at this location by a car dealership as a courtesy car. They took our credit card in case of damage. They then charged us for a week car rental when we returned it the same day to the dealership. The charges on our bill were also from a week before we even got the car. They have not returned the charges to our credit card for over 2 months. After multiple phone calls to this rental car office nothing has been done. I would give them no stars but you are not allowed. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS HERTZ EVER. Rent from any other car rental office. Just as an update. We spoke with the "manager" of this location on Monday and were promised a refund for this by Friday. No refund has been given and no communication has been sent down from this location or the manager. This location has set up this scam and we have been told we are not the only people to have this happen to them. DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ.

These are some hurting cars they have here, it Hertz to drive them. Got next rental from Avis and it was brand new and clean and the rest of the lot looked the same. This is located where Tom the Tire Guy was before he retired, they must have been looking for someone to pay rent, unless they existed at the same time, but I went to Tom's all the time minus the past 2 years. But it definitely changes the place, where else are you going to get tires plugged for free, tires swapped for free, mounting.. etc? Not from Hertz.

I am giving them 1 star because the rental car was new. I have never recieved worse service than I have from Hertz. My rental car's gas tank was filled 3/4. When I returned the car 4 days later I filled the tank back up to 3/4. They charged me $60 because they claimed that the tank was full when they gave it to me and that the associate who gave me the car showed me the gas gauge which he did not. I am now stuck with a $109 fine instead of a $48 fine which it should have been. I told my side of the story to the associate and he replied with "don't you give me those excuses" and was super rude. Furthermore, I was told they would call me back in an hour when I first called them and I waited 2.5 hours before I had to call them. A bunch of lying crooks they are. I will NEVER choose Hertz again. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, AGGRESSIVE EMPLOYEES, TOTAL RIPOFF! Avoid this company, save your time and money.

The only 5 stars here are from the employers. Stay away! They accuse me of damaging the vehicle interior seatbelt plastic cover in the back seat. I never used the backseat within my 2 day rental of the vehicle. They called me n said they will get back to me... They never called. Now I got a letter in the mail of them charging me... $3.15 for bridge toll for the port Mann bridge, after there are no longer bridge tolls! On top of that they charged me a $14 dollar admin fee. False accusations. Bad customer service. Wrongfully informed nor mention of this admin this admin fee. It's not worth the aftermath hassle I have to deal with these guys... Take a lesson people take ur business elsewhere.

TL;DR: Service and service provided was terrible. I would rather be without a car then to rent here again. If there was a rating lower then 1 star i would give it. ICBC had us rent a car here while we wait for our car to be assessed as well as repaired, We arrived right now time to pick up the car. An employee there called us in the morning to remind us to pick up the rental car...... That is about all thats good about our entire service. We walked into the office at the side of the building, and we had a little small talk and we began to go through the paper work. At the point of getting to loss, damage, and partial damage waiver/ coverage, we declined politely. We received a look as if they were disgusted with our reply. Their attitude went down hill, as if we weren't worth their time to talk to. We received the key and the rental record for a 2018 Hyundai. I stopped at the door because we still needed to do the pre-rental inspection and the employee seem to be reluctant to inspect the vehicle. We were lead to the back to our car, the employee took a walk around and spotted nothing as we did as well. We had to POINT OUT scratches to the employee were was disgruntled and marked it on the sheet afterwards. the only thing he was enthusiastic about was to get us out of his sight. The car inside smelt horrid, there were trash and gunk on the ground, French fries under the seat. liquid residue on plastic part. But the employee disappeared and we figured it wasn't a big deal. We had to drive with our windows down to clear the smell for 2 days. This was the worst rental service i ever had!

I'm currently sitting at home waiting for hertz to pick me up to finalize my rental. I was supposed to be picked up at 4pm, and made sure I had enough time to make it to my appointment for 5:15 tonight. February 6th 2018. Which is not far from the rental office. Well almost 40 minutes later and I'm still waiting. They've had hours of notice of my rental, and can't stay on schedule. I've had to reschedule my appointment for after the long weekend. Thanks hertz. Very helpful.

Rented the car over there through uber, First, they provided a car without the spare tire and have not let me know that the type of car does not have spare tire. Second, the coolant second reservoir was empty and dry. I have a hole on the passenger tire when driving last month, it was on Sunday, but I try to call their number, it went to voice mail, I finally call the road service and the towing guy show up 3 hours after the call, pick up the car and brought it to their service centre. I show up at this office the next Monday after the accident and the representative I meet talked me that they have not receive a report from the centre and he will call me when he receive it After 3 weeks and so many call from me to them, I call back today and another representative keep saying they have not receive a report yet while my credit account show that I have been charged since July 27 without notifying me. I have long story but I will cut it here. I am million of time disappointed with this office and how they manage theirs customers.

One star is too much for these shady bunch of crooks. As others have complained they charged us for gas even though we brought it back exactly how it was. Also I accidentally left some old insurance papers in the glove compartment of the rental and called them back the following morning. They completely denied that there were any papers inside and would not return them. This place is absolutely horrible and they should all be charged with fraud. Oh and they even lied about what type of vehicle we would be given, said they only had a car available even though ICBC said they had to give us a van or similar, when I argued about it they changed their mind and magically had a nice van for us, obviously they were keeping it for someone they could charge more for it.

Hey guys never rent out from this location they charge unnecessary for extra days. Even customer service said about extra charge would be waived off but they didn’t. Rude and arrogant behaviour by the employee.

Rented a car and was given an empty tank and subsequently charged for a full tank. Fortunately I took an image of the gas and ODOmeter reading when i rented this car as I was suspicious that they would rent out a car with a nearly empty tank. Thank goodness I did that so i am going to dispute that charge. I would recommend keeping away from this branch!!!

I had bought an SUV from this location and I am very happy with it. The whole process was very easy and stress free. I really enjoyed working with Frank, he was very professional and detail orientated. I wanted to have the vehicle earlier and he made that happen, even though they were very busy. I will definitely be recommending all my friends and family. -Very happy customer.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I booked a car from Surrey (this location) to go to the airport. I called them in the morning to inform them I will be coming a little later. When I arrived, they did NOT have a car for me. They wanted to give me a damaged car, which I refused. They then asked if I would rent a pick up truck when I reserved a small car. They spent 10+ minutes trying to locate a car (ex. Calling Uber drivers to see if they’d come back) in Punjabi which I can obviously understand. They were rude and unprofessional. When I asked them why they didn’t have a car for me, the front desk man was extremely rude. He said this is because I came late and claimed I didn’t call him at 8am (when they opened). When I showed him proof I called him at 8am, his uneducated self didn’t have anything to say. He tried to blame this on me when it’s his fault they didn’t have a car for me. I ended up leaving and they did not even apologize. Instead he threw my drivers license and credit card at me and told me to leave. If Hertz gives uneducated, unprofessional and rude people franchises like these, I will never rent a car from them. Such a disgusting experience. How dare they communicate in a language other than English to speak about topics that they think the customer can’t understand? Jokes on them because I could understand and they looked like extreme fools. I WILL BE CONTACTING HERTZ ABOUT THIS. DISGUSTING, UNPROFESSIONAL AND ABSOLUTELY UNEDUCATED PEOPLE RUNNING A BUSINESS ESPECIALLY THE MAN AT THE FRONT.

I wondered how a business could actually get to 2.8 stars as I don't think i have ever seen it on places with more than 2 or so reviews. But these guys have managed it. On every site I have looked on. They are crooked. Fair and square. There is an absolute abandonment of integrity and honesty at this location. Listing all the nickle and diming they do will just make this take too long and only speak to my own personal experiences. All I want is for you to be aware and take every precaution to protect yourself. If you have car rental coverage from ICBC, you are stuck with these incredibly shady people & they are fully aware there isn't a damn thing on earth you can do about it. So let the nickle and diming begin. So.. all I ( and other reviewers ) can do is tell you. Take pictures. A lot of pictures. Video if possible. Fortunately I did and I am hoping they will serve me well when I file my complaint against these guys.

Car itself is a bit beat up but that's expected of a rental car, nothing wrong with that. The issue is with the representative there, he told me to drive the car back empty tank so they can fill it cheaper than if I do it at the gas station. I was quite surprised but trusted him. Guess what the refill surcharge in the end for a tiny Nissan car that can be filled full at a gas station for 25 dollars is? 47 dollars, he lied to me and made me spend 22 dollars more. This rental place really really sucks.
