Even when they didn't have what I was looking for, he provided a vehicle upgrade at no additional charge! Will definitely be using this Hertz again.

Got me a cheaper price on a better car than the one I was able to book online, and a better selection of coverage options. Personable, courteous customer service, and straightforward information with my best interest at heart (instead of the upsell). Felt respected and informed, and got "in and out" of the office quicker than I thought I'd be. Found me a nice backup camera which was not a request I could make online, and even offered me water or snacks. Would rent at Hertz Langley again!
Great service despite being fairly busy. Hard working people, knowledgable, moderately helpful. We did a full walk around inspection of vehicle before i left the parking lot... ALL wear.n.tear was thoroughly recorded. 1 week rental, fantastic little vehicle to fit me needs.
Friendly and fast. They answered all questions without having to look anything up on a computer and even asked how I was feeling after my car accident. (This was an icbc claim rental ). I was left feeling I missed something because it all happened so fast but I would recommend hertz to my friends. I'm just not used to customer service like it. :)
I am a first-time user of Hertz, and I don't know how the "manager's choice " works. They tried to give me the smallest car they had, and tried to persuade me to upgrade and expend more money to get a mid-size or full-size vehicle. After I checked online, I figured out it's even cheaper to cancel the booking a get a mid-size vehicle directly. However, the attitude of the store manager was very bad. Not patient to explain and not attempt to make adjustments when I try to cancel and rebook. I got what I need after a 30 mins argument and it was not a pleasant experience at all. So first, don't book the manager's approval; they probably give you the worst choice in store. Second, cancel or modify your booking before entering the store. Arguing with them is a waste of time.
When you rent a car from this guy, picture everything. And make sure they marked every small chips and dent. Even windshield. If there’s any small chips that is not marked when you rent, they will charge you. I mean Really, really small one. It doesn’t matter you did it or from the previous renter. I will never rent a car from this company again.

Absolutely brutal. Their customer service was terrible every step of the way. We had issues securing a car with hertz, and every interaction we had with someone employed at this company was seriously terrible. The staff at this location was unprofessional unhelpful and exhaustingly frustrating. We ended up having to cancel and the staff there said they couldn’t so we would have to cancel ourselves by calling the 1 800 number on the rental pamphlet. When we called this number we were redirected several times, had to call back and try the prompts a few times, and then finally when we got through to someone who could process the refund he was confusing, still unhelpful and it seemed like really bad tact to give us the auto pilot goodbye of “thanks for choosing hertz” After all that two weeks has gone by and we have not seen a refund. We just called in to see why it has not come through, and it turns out it was still pending because someone on their end didn’t put through the refund till almost a week after we spoke to them, so it can be up to another 7 business days for us to see our money. Seriously BRUTAL company. Do not waste your money here.
The staff were friendly, but the scripted responses to legitimate questions regarding confusing fee policies were ridiculous. I.e. I was told to call 24hrs ahead if I wanted an extension, so I did. Approx. 15 minutes later, I called back to retract my extension request & was told [by another staff member who answered the phone] that it’d be fine to return at the original time & the extra day charge wouldn’t be applied. Upon returning the car, I was told I’d be charged an early return fee because the reservation return date was for the next day. The staff member then proceeded to tell me that he has no control over the fee system & it would’ve been the staff member, who originally handed the keys, responsibility to inform me of this. His alternative offer to avoid the early fee was to be charged for the next day despite bringing the car back. It was terrible - I’m extremely disappointed.

So why is it my wife called yesterday about a rental for an economy car and was quoted $195 (approx) and then today she phoned in the morning to confirm they still had a car and was quoted $315 for the same car and same time rental? This is shady practice. I called them and asked them why this is and they said it changes depending on if they have a lot of cars available or a little. Well we all know how that nonsense goes. They can quote you low and then when you get there they will quote you high claiming they don't have a lot available. I think im going to go with Another rental place. This Hertz is too shady after all ive read in the reviews and this just makes me no want to deal with them at all. How are they so busy if theyre down to 3 stars or less?
Booked last minute at Hertz because my car needed to be fixed. I was able to pickup the car within the hour. The Hertz website worked great and I paid a fair price. Staff here were fast and efficient. Nice upgrade too.
I've been using Hertz services for a long time now. I have rented in Europe, the east coast and the west. This had to be the top customer service experience I've had with Hertz. Mustafa was extremely helpful, courteous and efficient. If every Hertz location was this pleasant to deal with, I would never consider another company again.
Words cannot express the gratitude I have towards the employees of this establishment. After being ripped off by countless other car rental places, I can actually say I had hands down the best experience on several occasions. They were accommodating, made sure I had the best quality rental each time and prices were more than decent for a weekly rental. Wasnt great, tried to pin previous damage on car to my account. Forgot my security pass in the car too (which is my fault) but guy on the phone wouldn't even bother to look if the car was still there when I called back. Moral of the story double check the car when you return it and make sure you get the insurance so they can't pin any previous damage on you.

We rent a car a week ago from this place and my experience turned more than disappointing. When we returned it back, I realised that I have forgotten my sunglasses in it. We called twice and they tried to convinced me that no sunglasses were in there, since they sanitised the car and they did not find anything other than our charger. There is no doubt I left them in the car. Okay then, enjoy your new sunglasses...
Received the vehicle I reserved on time and drop off was also simple and efficient. Overall service as you would excpect from a car rental company.
Credit card hold took 2 weeks to refund to credit card. Had to visit them and call multiple times. Will go out of my way to rent from someone else

Great service, quick and friendly. Also very clean new vehicles. Both times I rented the Vehicles were very new and had very low km, basicly brand new vehicles with barley any km on them.
Rented many times from this location. They are very busy, but continue to provide great service under the conditions. I have had to wait long but never feel like they have forgotten about me.
The team here was great, we had a total loss accident and needed a family van for a few weeks. These guys went to bat and found a van, when we picked it up it is clean and nearly new, a great fit and saved us in this crazy mixed up time. Very easy to extend my rental time while we hunted for a new vehicle, highly highly recommended. Worth noting that although their computers were down when i arrived, they did not impose a delay on me, they got my info manually and had me on the road quickly.
Pretty terrible experience with numerous staff members at this Hertz location. Unprofessional conduct and communication from both front line staff and the manager I was escalated too. I scheduled a drop off time for my rental vehicle, and then was called four times during my work day asking "why have you not returned the car yet? we are going to charge you extra for this time." When I repeated that I had a scheduled and agreed upon drop off time, they continued to call and repeat the previous. Having been set here due to an ICBC claim, if I had the choice I would never choose to rent from this organization or location.
If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely the worst customer service by the counter staff. They make up lies regarding which vehicles are available and give priority to those who book at higher prices. The guy also claimed that I had damaged the car. They couldn't find the paper that said where the previous damage was. Luckily I found my paper, and he said, "oh ok". I thought by speaking to the manager it would help, but that was even a worse experience. Stay away from this location.

Will charge your credit card weekly for "holds" in case you receive a traffic violation. This was not discussed nor is in their agreement. ICBC is paying for the rental. Do not allow these people to have your credit card!! Illegal use and charges they think is just okay to "hold" your money. Then hang up on you because you point it out...no stars!! Nice to know my money is being 'held' without my permission. Isn't that a crime elsewhere??
They rent out the problematic car to the customer without any indication, and let the customer buy extra fullcoverage insurance. When the customer discovers the problem, they say: You have already bought the extra fullcoverage insurance, so there is no need to worry. When the customer asks to change the car They said that there is no other car to replace. I think this is a fraud in disguise
This place made up charges a year after my rental and sent them to collections without contacting me first. Do not use hertz, they will scam you. I have spent countless time on the phone with different hertz locations, and head office trying to understand what I am being charged for and why a year later. they do nothing but pass you on to the next person who passes you on. All while having my credit threatened for something I never authorized to be charged.

I have never had to leave a review like this but I feel that I have to. I rented a vehicle from the Hertz Langley branch while my vehicle was in the attached bodyshop for an ICBC no-fault claim. ( I won't go into the fact that it took over an hour to get a rental and that 2 of the vehicles initially given to me did not actually work and they had to exchange them before I left the parking lot) This was the first week of March. I returned the vehicle with a full tank and went on my way. A few weeks later, I looked at my credit card bill and found out that Hertz charged me over $90 for a tank of gas. When I called and questioned this, the manager told me that her staff had filled up the tank when it was returned as I had agreed upon in the contract. I argued this, saying this was impossible, and submitted proof in the form of a receipt for gas from the morning I returned it. She agreed to refund me and it would show up in 5-10 days. I waited the 10 days and no refund. I called to ask about it and the manager stated that she was having difficulties with her refund system and IT was working on it. Now please note that these exchanges by phone or email would take days in between as the manager would not get back to me. This was now over a month past my rental. I then went away for 10 days expecting some sort of communication from the manager upon my return, but nothing. I had been incredibly patient and wanted to allow the local branch to handle this, however, it's incredible that the manager would a) not communicate regularly in this situation and b) allow her business to be run this way: questionable gasoline/staff charges; computer system not functioning properly, etc. In the end, after 2 months, I called one last time to talk to the Langley branch and spoke with her assistant as again the manager "wasn't available". He said that they still had trouble with their system which I find very hard to believe after almost 3 weeks. I gave Hertz customer relations a call. Explained my situation as above. The individual apologized and immediately credited my credit card. In 7 days I had my refund. She also stated that this shouldn't have happened and that they will investigate this situation further. I advised them that they should as this was extremely sketchy at best. No way to run a business and if I was the corporation, I would not want the Hertz company to be represented this way. I know many people may read this and wonder about the person making the complaint and whether this is a usual occurrence ...I have never had a situation like this happen, but I can say that it is borderline fraudulent. Also, take note of the previous reviews. Be very careful when renting here. Bravo for Hertz Corporation for coming through in the end.

Staff is kinda rude and didn't have the car I wanted since my car was hit by an impatient new driver so instead of upgrading me. . I got a compact car that I could not get 2 save on bags in... I will be going elsewhere if I need a rental car. .
Made a reservation previous day, web is showing cars available. Reservation was done, all confirmed and when I got to the store, they told me that they don't have a car, that website is not accurate, and will allows to do more reservations than cars allotment. Which is not true, I have been using Hertz for years now and never before had such a bad experience. The Web would only allow to book as long as there is a car, ready to rent. Notwithstanding, under further investigation, find out that this is a franchise, and they might be overbooking, just in case someone doesn't shows up, or doing rates-picking, depending where your booking is done and what rate is done, the most higher rates, gets the car first. Which is very unethical and not in accordance with the "fair play" Canadian business practices. So, just be aware, if you make a booking for this particular location, make sure to have a back up, you might to change all your plans last minute because of that.
This is the first time I've rented with Hertz and it will be my last. When I picked up the rental vehicle everything went well. The agent and I completed a pre vehicle inspection. I mentioned that there were some scratches on the vehicle. The agent specifically said that they weren't a concern. He told me to only look for deep scratches or dents. I took his word for it. When returning the vehicle I dealt with the same agent. He completed a vehicle inspection upon return. He came back to me stating that there was a new scratch. I looked at it and I told him it was a preexisting one that I mentioned prior and at the time he said it wasn't a concern. He didn't bother to care and proceeded to say it was a new one. It's my now my word vs. his. This type of business is very deceiving. I was then forced to sign a accident report otherwise my rental agreement wouldnt be released. I completely regret that I didn't rent with enterprise or avis instead. I've never experienced anything like this with those companies. I'll never trust Hertz again.
Worst Hertz location I've been too. I'm a long-time customer and they would not help me over some small technicalities and so I'm very unsatisfied with this branch due to the urgency. I travelled an hour to get to them and then got denied so had to make a new reservation with a better branch.I rent almost every weekend but I will be taking my business elsewhere and will never be coming back here again!!

Super friendly, informed service from the 2 guys in the office. They took time to chat and showed interest in where I said I was going. I really appreciated their service. I never felt pressured to buy the extra insurance but they did take the time to share details without dragging it out. Even though I live in Maple Ridge I would probably go out of my way to rent from Hertz Langley next time I needed a rental car.

Cars are similar to what you would get elsewhere, but the prices are a bit lower. A majority of the agents are quite short with clients and lack customer service skills. There are only 2 I have liked dealing with. Do not expect to receive pickup or drop-off service. This is a service that they advertise but do not seem to offer. Every time that I have rent from them they say "NO" to both pickup and drop-off, always stating that they are "short on staff" and/or "helpless". Finally, they will only tell you about their most expensive insurance coverage, so be sure to ask for your other options or get ICBC's rental policy which is much cheaper.
I have a reservation and they didn't have a car for me
Due to an ICBC claim I had to use Hertz services for a rental car. Customer service here is outstanding. They even switched out my rental for a bigger car with no upcharge and spent the time to show me how everything worked.
They bullied me into agreeing that i somehow caused a tiny rock chip in the window of the rental. Then they reassured me that the insurance would cover it. 4 months later, I received a letter from collections asking me to pay $1,000. This is an absolute scam!!!!I will never use them again.

Wished I had checked their reviews before I agreed to the car valet service from insurance claim. It turned out that a few people had similar experiences with this location. I noticed some scratches on the underside bumper of the car after getting home from this location. I reported it to them and drove straight back to this location. They insisted that I damaged it as it was not marked on the inspection report. I asked for previous return inspection report. One agent said it was at the airport. Another agent said they only marked it if it was damaged and he would not have given me the car if it was damaged. I asked him if the car is driveable and he said yes. Well, obviously they had a line for every question. He said I had liability insurance and it would be covered regardless. Well, it sounded like they have every intention of pushing it through an insurance claim. I will be contacting all the relevant organizations to report this fraudulent type of behaviour. I made my first call to report this fraudulent activity 2 hours after I picked up the car today and I will continue with more tomorrow.
I rented a vehicle here as my own was being repaired at the shop next door. The agent was polite and quick. However I noticed that when I got the damage pictures they did not include a red material that seemed to be stuck to the top of the vehicle. I asked the agent to take a picture and add it to the damage pictures and he refused. He said it is above eye sight so it doesn't matter. I am concerned because I suspect it is dried on tomato or some other acid like material. It has been raining severely for the past 2 weeks so if it would rinse off I expect it would already be gone but it is hardened on the roof. I do not want to be charged for this and there does not seem to be anyone that will assist. No contacts are provided except to talk with the agent and he is not helpful.
very unpleasant people. I had an accident. ICBC rented a car for me from them. Taking advantage of my poor condition at that time, they did not write that there was a scratch on the car, although I showed them. After my return of the car, they said it was a new scratch and they wanted me to pay for it. I did not think that there are deceivers in Canada (I feel very bad now after this situation. They call and blackmail me.
Horrible customer service! They will not do anything to explain what you are purchasing or inform their clients, rather they will take advantage of your situation and make more money. Totally opposite from Enterprise, for example, where staff makes sure you are aware what's offered and make sure to give you only what you need. They will not return calls and if you try to discuss it in person their staff will tell you "you are just saying blah blah blah"... so disappointing! Do not recommend!

Horrible experience. I had an ICBC claim at a collision place, they had no replacement vehicles so they sent me here... big mistake. I was with someone who was new and it took over an hour because he wasn't being trained properly. Additionally, he didn't explain that the insurance I chose for the vehicle would cost me $115 yet my car was damaged by a driver, I had no choice but to get a replacement because I have a job. I am very disappointed. I will never go to Hertz again... worst experience. I called in to complain, No one has offered to refund me for the chargers or even helped me. I'm out $115 for no good reason when a loaner car should of been $0 with gas expense. The car smelt as well and the vents in the car whistled. Bad car, bad experience, out money for no good reason!

I had an ICBC claim and used Hertz. The staff was exceptional and they upgraded my car with no extra cost. We received top shelf service and highly recommend them. We'll definitely go there again if we ever need a rental!
