Hertz used to be a good company , but since Hertz hired bad apples is going down. I rented a car in Abbotsford location because my wife had a car accident. First, the car gave to us was unsafely because the tires were really bad tread, and I called them several times to get better car and never get a car exchange. Secondly, an employee called us that we were responsible to pay because ICBC does not want to be responsible. I want to educate those people because according to law, ICBC is responsible to pay my rent car until my car is fix it. Also, they do not the mean of customer services.

Hertz was friendly and helpful. The agency seemed very busy. They supplied a car while my SUV was in the repair shop for an ICBC claim. I would recommend. They gave me a Nissan Ultima to start then switched me to a new Durango once one was available. Cars are clean and new.

Very helpful. Used them as an insurance replacement while my vehicle was a total loss. Couldn't do enterprise, long story, would never do business with them again. Hertz went the extra mile & definitely a cut above the rest. Would recommend and use again in a heartbeat

I had said no thank you to their daily coverage and they still tricked my naïveté by still pulling out the policy for the coverage I declined . Sure I should’ve read it more thoroughly but when someone says no thank you to a coverage , you shouldn’t pull out the agreement to it . I trusted them to listen to my word. Instead they took advantage of that and got me to initial a bunch of places without clearly explaining the process . A customer right beside me had the same problem and then the manager implied that I was in it with him to scam them . Even saying that that customer’s concussion caused him to start the argument . I was willingly going to pay them the amount but don’t take advantage of peoples’ naïveté . This experience left a bad taste. I recommend people read what they give you because they don’t reconfirm with you or even tell you what you’re signing . Renters beware.

I dropped off a rental here and was quite happy with how professional and friendly the staff was. It only took a few minutes to hand over the keys and have the car looked over. There were other customers being helped but I was on my way in less then 10 minutes. :)

We have received a rental here a couple times as part of an insurance claim. I was able to get a car in a reasonable amount of time on both occasions. They offered insurance, but didn't seem to push it. They also didn't try to take advantage of anything like dents in the car. However, it did seem to lack a certain something, which is why I'm not giving 5 stars

Will not recommend this dealer to ANYONE! Had my car @ Fix-It, they didn’t have a courtesy car so they called Hertz - We agreed to accident ins. $13.99 They didn’t say that was per day! Imagine my surprise $205.65 bill!!! Phoned to inquire - no satisfaction! Be Aware!

We got a rental from Hertz when ICBC wrote our car off from an accident which we were at no fault for. The rental was covered by ICBC. Our first experience with them was fine, they picked us up from the shop, and drove us to their office, in the car that we would be renting from them. While the car was nothing great (it had dings all over it and was not a very nice drive), it was fine and got us from A to B. But, when they offered us the extra insurance coverage on the car at 13.99/day we said no because we had no idea how long we would have the rental and we were soon to be out of work, so could not afford it. My husband and I both clearly said we did not want it, so when they gave us the contract to sign and initial, I thought I was signing that I declined it. My bad that I didn't read it because it apparently said that I accepted it. So when we returned the rental, they charged us $161.00 for the coverage, and when we told them we had declined it, they showed us the form saying we accepted it and that they remember us accepting it. We fought them for five minutes on this, telling them we wouldn't have accepted because we knew we couldn't afford it, but because my initials were on the paper, they wouldn't do anything about it and the lady's words were "I'm very good at my job, and I remember what happened (she was the one who rented the car to us)." Lesson learned, beware of deception. Customer satisfaction is apparently not their priority.

I almost rented from this company through ICBC because my truck was written off. That would have been a mistake. The people at this company have been nothing but rude to me all day long. I showed up the morning of my appointment to see if I could get a car on my way to work and they told me to "get out" and "come back when you're supposed to". I had an accident at work and I ended up being 30 minutes late for my appointment. I was then refused a rental after getting into an argument with the girl because I had been late. It's not worth the trouble to rent from this place. Go rent from Clearway, their cars are in better shape, they're much friendlier, and much easier to deal with :)

I've read other reviews from people who have had issues with this location. Honestly, they were amazing with me. I called to make sure that they didn't swindle me into the extra insurance, and they didn't. Car was clean, well maintained. Staff was beyond helpful. I can't ask for more.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION Made my reservation ,4 hours before picking up the vehicle. Upon arrival the attendant had no clue of my reservation. This is the part it gets good.... First he told me it would take him a 10-15 minutes to clean the car..my response " thats fine Ill wait ".... NEVER CLEANS THE CAR... but thats fine it wasn't bad. Then he proceeded to bring the car around and ask if I seen any damages..to which I pointed out , many scratches ....bumper not in place...etc...all fine and I dont care but....I know from previous rentals this is part of the agreement slip stating the damage known on the vehicle. He didn't mark half of the damages I told him....until I said " I am not signing it until he put it down" I then asked him if he was gonna clean the vehicle ..his response " sorry i didnt know you were coming ".... and I reply " but you told me 15 minutes?" ( other people arrive and he never answers my question) LAST THING... he tells me the vehicle has 6/8 in gas and " if i would like to pay to fill the car " I said no. I get in the car and the gas clearly reads 5/8...not even close to 6/8....... and sure enough on my bill after I return the car...I have a fuel charge for 35 dollars to which I STILL HAVE NOT GOT A ANSWER FROM HERTZ STAY AWAY

Eh My experience was not that good i contacted scabies which i have heard you can catch quite easy. They are to busy to clean effectively nasty stains all over seats i covered with a throw. Said a non smoking vehicle but could smell stale cigarrette smoke.

I had to get a rental car which was covered by ICBC. I had pretty much the same situation as Zapata who previously posted. They called me on April 11th and said that my rental was up on April 6th and that I will be getting charged for not bringing it in. I called ICBC before April 6th to make sure I would not get charged. The person at ICBC said I don't have to worry and that Hertz is not supposed charge me and send bill to ICBC. I am seeing charges on my credit card amounting to over $300. I will recommend don't ever go to Hertz in Abbotsford at the South Fraser location.

this will be long with a to be continued, Dec 26, 2014, still waiting to get a rental car from this wonderful outfit, only waiting since I flew into Abbotsford Dec 24th @ 4 pm, all 3 airport agencies open with csr's past 6:30 pm, this hertz closed early,I can appreciate wanting to close early but maybe call or send an email to let me know. They don't even have a damn answering machine with a message, just rings til you hang up. My flight was missed and got another flight same day so figured my car would be there, wrong assumption. After an hour on phone, with no help from them, in Mobile, Al., I had to take a $85 cab ride to Chilliwack, my destination. Was suppose to get a call from customer service first thing this morning, 4 hours later I decided to make call, told they can do nothing I have to call the agency in Abbotsford. I did, and no answer, or answering machine with a message they are closed Boxing Day too, so after letting it ring for 20 times I knew I was carless today also, they did promise I could rent a car at todays rates, my 8 days was total $250 including taxes, their rate was approx $110 per day, Merry Christmas. So now 2 and a half days til I even hear from Hertz in Abbotsford tomorrow, and of course I will have to intiate the call, hopefully they pick up but I will be amazed if they respond to assist me, to be continued but so far the one star is so I can write this, very enjoyable way to start my visit out here, thanks hertz, for the $85 cab ride and no car, beautiful

Very good service, gave us recommendations on things to do and also a free ride back to the airport. Welcomed us back when we dropped the car off and asked how our trip was. DO NOT RENT A VEHICLE FROM THIS COMPANY LOCATION!!! SCAMMER ALERT! My mother and I recently rented a vehicle from this location for a family location. We were told about the $200 deposit to return the car damage free, with a full tank of fuel and parked in the same location. Which we did, when we gave the keys back we were told we would get the $200 deposit back in 3 business days. When the money did not come we called. We were given excuse after excuse to why they were not going to give us our $200 deposit back and passed off to three different employees who then hung up on us. Very dissappointed very unprofessional!

I would not even give them 1star, but had to, to write this review. This is a fairly long review but please read this and hopefully avoid the disaster experience we had with this "service" provider. About 1 1/2 months to 2 months before my wife and I were to fly into Abbotsford British Columbia I had contacted CAA to enquire about a car rental company and they suggested Hertz. So I contacted the Hertz dealer in Abbotsford via online. I went in and reserved a vehicle and got a confirmation number. I did go in several times to change some of the conditions, ie., car seat, insurance. At no time did I cancel the reservation and got the same confirmation number. Two days before we were to fly out we got a final confirmation notice and a welcome to Hertz. I had made the reservation to pick up the car on the day after our arrival in Abbotsford. When I called to find out the address the person I was talking to said"we sent you an e-mail yesterday saying we wouldn't have a car for you today. When I asked when I would be getting a car this person said we won't have one for you. I was supposed to pick other family flying in that night. This person went on to say " we won't have a vehicle for you for the 2 weeks we had reserved for. I said you are telling me in the whole mainland of BC you don't have a vehicle", to which he said " No". We were looking at two weeks sitting in our hotel and missing the wedding we were there to attend. When I asked this person what I was supposed to do he very glibly said " go to another carrier ". Which we did, Enterprise, with no reservation at all we got a vehicle and ENTERPRISE staff did every thing they could to ensure we enjoyed our experience with them. I would not recommend Hertz car rental to anyone. I am going to do every thing I can to ensure CAA removes this car rental agency as a company of choice. Also every person I have had contact with from BC to Washington state, to Nova Scotia and on social networks, I informed them of our experience with this company and to not use them. I will continue to do so as I would not want anyone to go through what we did with this company. And the email they sent arrived after we were in flight. Please I implore everyone who is reading this to not use this company and to pass this information along to everyone you know and come in contact with.

I would give 0 stars but you need to give at least one, I made a reservation and then they refused me my rental because they illegally refused legal Canadian currency. And then refuse to refund the money they took out of your account when you make the reservation with your bank card. This is a big issue and possibly could result in a lawsuit if they dont straighten it out

Vehicle was not only clean and ready when I arrived, but they had fulfilled a special request that I had made during booking which was related to my wife's health. Drop off in Chilliwack went equally well. THIS is why I like Hertz !!!

Got a car with them through icbc, and brought it back with the same amount of gas that i got it with. They still charged my credit card $70 for gas even though I've been told that it says on their records that the car was brought back with a full tank. They keep saying they will refund me but i have yet to see that over 2 months later. Updated: Almost 3 months and many phone calls later, i've been refunded, but it wasnt even half of what they charged me. I would never rent a car from these scam artists again

We also had very good service in Sidney on Vancouver Island, a young man I can't recall his name drive us to the ferry and refused a tip. I can't say enough about the good service. The car rental price was good.

Con-men and cheats. Obscene rental prices, bordering on extortion when dealing with ICBC and auto body repair shops. To give some context after renting for about 2 weeks my father could of bough a used 2009 Yaris with money to spare. Fortunately he refused the rental, signed nothing, and we juggled some of our cars around instead.

Incredible experience! We spoke with Sharma (Manager) before our trip to British Columbia. He told me a rate that he would give us and said he will try his best to cap it at that, if not lower it. I will be honest, I was not expecting for them to adhere to this, based on my previous experiences with Car Rental companies. However, Sharma kept his word and we were set up with a beautiful new Chevy Tahoe. Though dealing with Sharma over the phone was simple and great, I was blown away with the service provided when we picked up and dropped off the car. Kavish was responsible for giving us the best service experience that I have ever witnessed in my life. He was friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. I forgot some personal items in the vehicle after I dropped it off, Kavish made sure to drive them back to the airport for me which was absolutely amazing of him. I want to thank this location and their whole team for making our trip unforgettable. I would travel back to Abbotsford just to make sure that I can deal with Kavish and Sharma again.

Everything was great except that when they offer you the extra insurance they do not say "per day" which makes a pretty big difference if you have the car for several days. It does seem kind of scammy to not mention that the extra coverage is charged per day, however, the manager here did refund me without any problems. I would use them again because everything else went very smooth, but I would NOT take the extra insurance just to avoid any extra charges.
