We were told to come here as COVID hit the other shops and they were closed. We had a meh experience, and I wish we had a better one. The woman at the front desk not only spoke over us constantly anytime we tried to talk or ask questions, but she spoke to us extremely condescending. She's not a mechanic and kept telling us she knew what was wrong. None of the employees are wearing masks, and most of the customers going in don't either. They are not following any mask mandates. They had our vehicle awhile, they don't offer you a ride, or any lending of rental cars. They didn't call us when our car was ready to be picked up, and acted like that was our fault when we brought it up after arriving to get it. We wanted specific issues looked at that didn't get done, and the ones that did - didn't get fixed, over $1k later, and now we have to go to another mechanic still. (They claimed they fixed our heat, but we still have none for example.) For the time we were without transportation, lack of communication or even kind/considerate customer service, spending so much for main issues not even being fixed, we will not be returning. Thank you to the kind older mechanic who came out to show us the leak/hole we still had and where it was, you were a positive end to our experience here. The daughter who was in the office who seemed nice, and eager to speak with us. She's enthusiastic and comes off that she actually wants to help, thank you.

We were on the way from Saskatoon to Port Alberni to help sick friend, when we lost power and motor at 130 km on the last big hill on the Coquihala. Of course it was Monday on the long weekend in September but when we explained the next morning our need to get back on the road and though they were booked up they agreed to help. When the alternator arrived the mechanic had to work outside to do the work because the bays were full. This was fine till a 4 O'clock rain storm had us sure we were staying another night but 2 hours later we were on the road.This was five star by itself but when we returned home and the weather got colder our alternator shut down the computer till it warmed up, then it worked fine. I called Car Guys and agreed that I was unlikely to drive back to have it fixed asked if there was anything they could do for me. Rick told me to have it checked and repaired and send them the bill. My reaction was to say this could cost more than I paid them but he said it had to work. Unbelievable and I have been in service industry for fifty years. My solution was to replace the alternator my self and send the alternator back with the shipping bill. Within a few days I had received a call from Lordco auto parts to tell me they had refunded the cost of the alternator which by itself is great because usually they would replace the part which in this case would leave their customer waiting for the right car again. Thanks Lordco. Next came a check from Car Guys to finish off the best service experience one could hope for.

Thank you Car Guy's! On the very first day of our holiday our car started choking out just on our way into Hope. We stopped at the Car Guys and after diagnostics they were not sure but thought that because we were low on oil the sensor for something else was going off..... They offered to top up the oil to save some money but we did the oil change. As it turned out the car did need an oil chage and zero issues with it since. They could have tinkered around but they did the right thing and started with the least expensive fix first. As it turned out, it was all we needed! I should point out that we rolled into the shop at 330 on a Friday long weekend so we were lucky to have had them do anything at all. Very professiinal and straight up.

An honest mechanic! I was quick to get service and a diagnostic, and the front desk was very nice and helpful. It was no problem that I had a less common German model. The rate was excellent, and I would recommend them to anyone. I now drive my Jeep in from Burnaby for all repairs and oil changes. These guys are awesome!

The car guys were very good to me when I showed up at their shop in an emergency situation. I was heading for Osoyoos and could feel a vibration in my pickup, I called and they said come on over and they would check it out. I arrived and they got it checked out right away, I needed a steady bearing. It was fixed quickly and for what they quoted me. Thank you car guys

Car Guys saved our trip. My wife and I were heading to Vancouver when our water pump failed just outside of Hope. We were towed to Car Guys and the next morning they managed to squeeze us in for the repair and get us back on the road that afternoon. It was a Monday morning, and having several mechanics in my family I understand how incredibly busy that time can be -- and Car Guys clearly were. I cannot thank or recommend them enough. They were straight with us, kept us updated on progress, and managed to get us back on our vacation safely.

Rick (think he's the owner) did a great job helping our family out with an emergency repair to our VW Van which broke down as we were entring Hope. He did a diagnostic of our van but also took the time to our regular VW mechanic in Vancouver to correctly identify the issue & he did his very best to fix the issue as soon as possible. We still had to stay a night in Hope but... they did get us back on the road as quick as seemed possible & everything ran perfectly afterwards. We appreciated the time he took to correctly figure out what needed to be fixed & the price for parts & labour were reasonable. I also greatly appreciated the time Rick took to show me what he was doing in the Van engine & explaining what the issue was.

We stopped for some help with a malfunctioning windshield washer hose. The owner of the shop popped the hood while his father shoveled the walk outside the store. He fixed the problem and we went on our way. Thank you for the quick, friendly service!

I was very happy to find these guys when I had a major car issue on the road. My vehicle became un-driveable due to an issue that burned through a wiring harness and shorted out the main computer. It was towed by BCAA to their shop. Everything they did was in my best interest and I believe their final billing was very fair for what they did. They went to the trouble to locate a used main computer for my 2006 vehicle and got it installed and re-programmed. While I have nothing to compare with for the work they did, I am convinced they saved me a lot of money over having it towed a greater distance to a dealers shop.

My experience was they like money more then your vehicle. Watch out traveling through "Hope." Lots of places like this who will take advantage of you thinking you are only passing through town. Why do I think that, a $1,200.00 bill for two batteries, tire rotation, and a tune up.? You didn't even replace the plug wires.? Kind of thought the trunk was out of the shop too quick. But that is okay Car Guys, money once and reputation forever since you did that rip-off. O.K. Tire in Chilliwack did a proper tune up for me, Honestly driven is there logo and I am getting better gas milage now. My suggestion is stay away from the place, flip a coin and try somewhere else. They might treat you right with being honest.

This Car Guys is actually a Car Thief and Burglar! My wife and son drove a '97 corolla from Vancouver to Calgary. The car was rarely used (ODO: 100km) and well maintained. When they passed Hope, the car engine was damaged. They went to Car Guys for help. Rick, the guy from the Car Guys, simply told them the car could not be repaired, and bluffed them to give car up to him for Free. When I called Rick on the other day, he cheated the car had been disassembled as garbage at the beginning, then admitted the car was still there. Now, the car was illegally registered at ICBC.

A year ago on our way to Vancouver from Merritt, BC our van broke down in Hope BC. Three of my kids and my wife were travelling with me. We were very lucky the tire did not come off while driving on the highway. It was Sunday so we were towed to Car Guys Automotive Ltd. Since we did not know the shop we really did not have any expectations but were really worried because we had to be at the airport the next day. On Monday we explained the issue to the staff and they went above and beyond to get my car fixed. When they thought they could not fix the van, and they realized that we were unable to rent a car, the person in charge offered to take us to the airport in Vancouver B.C. At the very last moment, a lady from the local Lordco pulled in with the parts needed. They rushed in to fix the van so that we could make it on time to the airport. THANK YOU so much for all you did for us.

These guys are Incredible! On our way to Kelowna and we stopped in Hope for gas and ran into car issues. These guys were recommended by the locals. Unbelievable service! Brought the car in at 3:00 and they close at 5:00 but worked on the car till 10:00 pm! They were amazing and I was so thankful for Rick and his mechanic Danny. Anyone else would have told us to tow our car to chilliwack and forget our trip. But these guys truly have hearts of gold!

After our car broke down and was towed to them we were given a diagnosis of the issue. However, after speaking with other shops the quote for repair was twice a high with them (which, in fairness, might be due to the location). The part I was not happy about was that no one told me about the $10/day fee of my car in their lot from the get-go. Fair to have a fee NOT fair to not tell someone about it. When I was told about it my car was set to leave within 24hours. When I spoke with the guy about not getting this information when first speaking with them he told me that it was hectic there and a mistake on their part. No fix for their mistake, just that it was a mistake on their part that I now had to pay for.

Towed my car here after having issues after hours. I called in the morning ask them to take a look and if it was really bad i would tow it home to surrey. Well it was bad and i couldn't get it till the following day. Never even meet anyone there but they didn't charge me a penny for there time. I would totally recomend them on that fact alone. They might not have spent a lot of time but the conditions where out of my hands and i got nothing but help!
