DO NOT STAY HERE! We arrived at our cottage in the evening and upon walking up to it we noticed a ton of spiders and webs surrounding the doorway. My sister almost fell through the step leading up to the door and my mother had to "put her weight" into opening the door. Once inside it was disgusting! The cabin smelled musty...there were bad water stain on all the walls, you could see the outside through one of the beams...just horrible. Then to make this nightmare worse the pillow cases were dirty and the towels had gross stains/substance on them. Needless to say we didn't end up staying the night and when these issues were brought to the owners attention he did not offer to refund any amount even though they were filthy and unhygenic. This is a disgusting place and I would not recommend it to anyone. If I could give zero out of 5 stars I would.

(Translated) Have spent nine wonderful days here. The cottages are in a great location, you have the gorgeous Grand River on your doorstep, the Atlantic Ocean is only a few minutes away by car. At Point Michaud you can even surf and ride for several kilometers on the almost deserted sandy beach. There are shops in St. Peters, about 20 minutes. removed by car. My cottage was equipped with everything you need, everything was very functional and with great love. So a very pleasant and recommendable place that offers all possibilities to explore Cape Breton. In addition, I slept wonderfully umd me felt very comfortable. (Original) Habe hier neun wunderbare Tage verbracht. Die Cottages sind toll gelegen, man hat den traumhaften Grand River direkt vor der Haustür, der Atlantik ist nur ein paar Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Bei Point Michaud kann man sogar Wellenreiten und mehrere Kilometer am fast menschenleeren Sandstrand entlanglaufen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in St. Peters, ca. 20min. mit dem Auto entfernt. Mein Cottage war mit allem ausgestattet, was man so braucht, alles sehr zweckmäßig und mit viel Liebe bestens eingerichtet. Also eine sehr angenehme und zu empfehlende Unterkunft, die alle Möglichkeiten bietet, um Cape Breton zu erkunden. Zudem habe ich wunderbar geschlafen umd mich rundum sehr wohl gefühlt.

The proximity to St. Peters (shopping) is ideal as a starting point for further exploration, e.g. to the Bras d'Or, Sydney or Fort Luisbourg. You can tell, the new owner attaches importance to the fact that the guests feel comfortable. Cozy pillows, comfortable couch .... We really enjoyed the time. (Original) Empfehlenswerte schöne Cottages in guter Lage am Grand River. Die Nähe zu St. Peters (Einkaufsmöglichkeiten) ist ideal als Ausgangspunkt für weitere Erkundungen, z.B. an den Bras d'Or, Sydney oder Fort Luisbourg. Man merkt, die neue Besitzerin legt Wert darauf, dass sich die Gäste wohlfühlen. Gemütliche Kissen, bequeme Couch.... Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen.

We stayed here during our mini vacation and absolutely loved our cottage! The area was so quiet and the cottage was very cozy with everything you need. The sound of loons while sitting at the firepit was so tranquil and relaxing! ????

My husband and I, as well as our dog have stayed here regularly over the last number of years without any issues. This passed weekend we noticed a foul smell in the cabin from the moment we entered. We thought we could get passed it but when we got in bed we noticed the bedding smelled like sweat. Our dog was sniffing the comforter like crazy which tells me that it was not washed. You need to put all of your weight into opening and closing the outside door which is ridiculously loud, and it had woken up our 7 week old baby a few times. When we got up in the morning there was no hot water so we decided to leave. We sent the owner an email explaining what happened and she responded with zero compassion. She blamed the cabin smell on our dog and accused us of ruining her towels. I didn't know what she was talking about as I didn't get a shower because of the lack of hot water. When she sent pictures they appear to be stained with bleach, therefore the housekeeper put them away like that but blamed us for it. It's really upsetting as we are clean and honest people and i'm shocked that she was accusing us of these things. We always loved staying at these cabins but with the unprofessionalism from the owner we have decided to refrain from supporting her business any further.

We booked this cabin as a kid free weekend (we planned on booking in a few weeks with them because of how close it is to point Michaud beach) but within minutes of arriving and setting our stuff down we noticed a lump under the mat infront of the couch, we lifted it to find a pair of men's boxers (too large for my boyfriend and was found before we even unpacked our stuff) so we emailed the owner only to have her email us backing stating it was hard to believe even though we sent a picture along with it clearly showing it was in her cabin. We are NOT DISHONEST people and don't like being treated as such. Cabin was amazing and wish we would be back but not if we are treated in this manner. Be more diligent with covid cleaning and maybe the boxers wouldn't be missed.

(Translated) Have mid-10/2019 a cottage "Moose" for about 1 week rented. I was very satisfied and can only recommend this accommodation. In the cottage everything was locally needed. The complex is located directly on the Grand River and only 10 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean with its beautiful beaches. The landlady Sabine, as well as the cleaning lady Heather are very nice people and have been very concerned about me. (Original) Habe Mitte 10/2019 ein Cottage "Moose" für ca. 1 Woche gemietet. Ich war sehr zufrieden und kann diese Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen. Im Cottage war alles vor Ort was benötigt wird. Die Anlage ist direkt am Grand River gelegen und vom Atlantik mit sehr schönen Stränden nur 10 Minuten entfernt. Die Hausherrin Sabine, sowie die Raumpflegerin Heather sind sehr nette Leute und haben sich sehr um mich bemüht.

A dreamlike beautiful area not far from St. Peters and ideally located for exploring Cape Breton. Beautiful large sandy beach on the Atlantic Ocean is only 5 min. away. We spent 5 wonderful and relaxing days here and we are very happy to come back! (Original) Sehr saubere und liebevoll eingerichtete Cottages mitten in der Natur am schönen und idyllischen Grand River. Eine Traumhaft schöne Gegend nicht weit von St. Peters entfernt und ideal gelegen für Erkundungen in Cape Breton. Schöner großer Sandstrand am Atlantik ist nur 5 min. entfernt. Wir haben 5 wunderschöne und erholsame Tage hier verbracht und kommen sehr gerne wieder!

(Translated) In my opinion, the cottages are very well located for exploring Cape Breton. If you don't want to do the big round, this is a great starting point for Bras d or Lake and the sea (surfing etc.). Regardless of that, the area around (the) Grand River is simply awesome for nature lovers with a short distance for shopping to St. Peters. The cottage was (German) super clean and equipped with all important (!) Items. What made my day, what "... that the shower delivered hot water immediately in the morning ..." :) and then I was able to relax and enjoy a coffee with a great view to prepare for the day. (Original) Die Cottages sind aus meiner Sicht sehr gut gelegen um Cape Breton zu erkunden. Wer die große Runde nicht machen möchte hat hier einen tollen Ausgangspunkt zum Bras d or Lake sowie zum Meer (Wellenreiten etc.). Unabhängig davon ist die Gegend um (den) Grand River einfach genial für Naturliebhaber mit kurzer Strecke zum Einkaufen nach St. Peters. Die Cottage war (deutsch) super sauber und mit allen wichtigen (!) Gegenständen ausgerüstet. What made my day, was "...dass die Dusche am Morgen sofort heißes Wasser lieferte..." :) und ich danach in aller Ruhe einen Kaffee mit toller Aussicht genießen konnte, um mich auf den Tag vorzubereiten.

These cottages are so cozy. Redone inside and out. New floors, furniture, dishes. Beautiful new deck and metal roof! Immaculately clean. Firepit with available wood was great too. We stayed in October and even with the cooler weather, they were nice and warm. A pleasure to stay here and we will be back next year for sure!!

In the kitchen and bathroom everything is available in terms of utensils that you need there. The house is modern (but not futuristic) and lovingly furnished. German-style duvets ensure a cozy sleep. The large living room window offers uninterrupted views of the Grand River. Shops and restaurants are easy to reach in nearby St. Peters. A huge map of Cape Breton as a picture above the sofa makes it easier to plan the day. We would love to come back! (Original) Sehr gemütliche Unterkunft im gepflegten und renovierten Blockhaus in reizvoller, ruhiger Umgebung. In Küche und Bad ist alles an Utensilien vorhanden, was man dort benötigt. Das Häuschen ist modern (aber nicht futuristisch) und liebevoll eingerichtet, Bettdecken Deutscher Art sorgen für kuscheligen Schlaf. Das große Wohnzimmerfenster bietet freien Blick auf den Grand River. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants sind im nahe gelegenen St. Peters gut zu erreichen. Eine riesige Karte von Cape Breton als Bild über dem Sofa erleichtert die Tagesplanung. Wir kommen gern wieder!
