Pick up and drop off were easy. Staff were friendly. I reserved a compact car but was given a sedan with snow tires for no extra cost (which was great as it was very snowy when I was there) and the car was already warmed up for me. Great service and the price is unbeatable (also they are open on Sunday which is great).

Incredible staff. They helped us in a pinch over the Thanksgiving Holiday. My fiancé forgot his sunglasses in the vehicle and the receptionist made sure to look for them herself and give me a call back as soon as she found them. Really great rates for weekly use as well! Thank you!

TERRIBLE. Go to Enterprise instead. I was given a car that was so FILTHY that I couldn't even check the car for damages pre pickup I was concerned because I did not have proof that potential damage may have existed before my pick up as I could barely see them. The clerk was rude and curt. To top it off, this was January and the car I was given did not have winter tires (?!), causing me to slip constantly. The price for 24 hours was literally DOUBLE what I would have paid at Enterprise...and they would have picked me up. I was forced to go with Hertz as Enterprise is closed on Sundays, and it was an overall terrible experience. If you're reading this: just go with Enterprise. It's down the street and 10x better. Don't make the same mistakes I did. I've rented from both many a time and Enterprise is leagues ahead. Hertz is trash. A Hertz location in Halifax tried to scam me by claiming that I returned the car with a dent. When I provided photos (proof) that were taken when I dropped off the car (without a dent visible), they suddenly CUT OFF ALL COMMUNICATION after realizing they had been caught in a lie. If you Google 'Hertz Damages Scam', you will find many similar stories. Bottom line: STAY AWAY FROM HERTZ. They are truly the bottom of the bucket in the rental world.

+2 stars because everytime I've called the location the guy who has answered has been very helpful -3 stars because I saw a rental for 5 days which came out to $250 (great price!) - I immediately made a booking. I then checked my flight details and realized I would need to extend it by returning it 4 hours later. When I went to do this online the requoted price was over $500?? Confused, I called the 1800 number and I see if they can extend it. They quoted me the same $500 price! I asked how much the charge is if I don't extend the booking but just return the car 4 hours late. She said it would be $250 + a $15.50 late fee, and said it wouldnt be $500+ I tried explaining how that doesn't make sense since it may inconvenience the next person waiting for the car until I return. She wasn't understanding it and said I'd have to modify the reservation. When I look at the detailed terms and conditions it says $15.50 PLUS rate difference. I'm sure if I proceed with option I'll be charged $500+ on my visa after the fact and then won't be able to dispute it. Anyway - the same vehicle for 5 days + 4 hours at thrifty down the street came out to $305. I think I'll take my business there and pay $50 more so I don't have to risk paying double the price for returning the car 4 hours late Make sure you read the fine print or you might face significant fees!

Good location, ok vehicles, but TERRIBLE service. Everything went ok for my rental, until these guys decided to do a quick cash grab as a "fuel charge." Basically, I filled the car to the brim at a location near Oromocto. Then, I drove 20 km back to the Hertz location and dropped off the car. Yes, in hindsight I could've found a closer location... but, knowing that my gas consumption was about 9.5L/100km, I've only used 2 litres, tops. That's only $2 at local gas prises, or about $7 at Hertz's rate. Well...these guys went ahead and charged me $25 (half a tank of gas worth)! Are you kidding me? Furthermore, when I called about the issue, an employee rudely replied to my concern with something like "what, do you expect Hertz to pay for your gas?" then mumbled something about a contract and refused to apply any sort of logic to the situation. I've rented with Enterprise on Hanwell road before, and they are a much more friendly bunch with a better vehicle choice too.

I can't, in good conscience, give any car rental company a good review in New Brunswick right now as their fleets are so depleted that you cannot rent a car without at least a month's notice.

Excellent and helpful customer service! We are planning to rent a car in Halifax in a few weeks but because of the hurricane, we understandably can't get through. We called this branch to ask a few questions and the person who helped was very polite and cleared up all of the concerns we had before our online reservation. Very pleasant experience. (9/9/2019)

Make sure you have a credit card and enough money for the rental because they will refuse you as they did us even though we had the money down plus a deposit and had the credit card go to Enterprise they don't require the money on the credit card but needed to have on file as long as you have money down to cover expenses

Even as a gold member I don't recommend Hertz, Fredericton. Manager is so rude and he don't see the customer values. Not even ready to listen to his employee who attended the customer during the during booking period. So please be aware of it. You might end up with huge bills. ????

I can't speak on behalf of others but all I can say is that my experience with the folks at Hertz in Fredericton (Crown Plaza location) has been extremely pleasant and professional at all times. I have been using their services for many years and on frequent occasions per year, and never once has my experience has been anything less than a 5 star experience.

These folks go out of their way to services there clients. They got me on the road before 8am on a Wednesday morning before all other rental companies even opened. And when I returned my car they gave me a lift to the airport. Awesome group of people.
