You guys got an extra star than you deserve because you have Carl (Karl?) as an employee. Get that guy a raise and a promotion fast as he’s your saving grace. He’s calm, professional and he did everything he could to make an unfortunate situation run smoothly. We rented a car from the airport only to find out 24 hours before that due to short staffing we would have to come to this location with hertz to comp the transportation price. At the airport their were NO lyfts, no Uber’s, and the two taxi drivers outside said “call hertz” when I asked for a ride. Not surprised but due to short staffing when I frantically called hertz the phone wasn’t answered. Luckily a few other people on our flight were in our situation and we were able to call dispatch and get a group ride to the rental place. I’m sorry you’re short staffed but get someone in there. From a company like hertz this type of service isn’t acceptable.
The staff here is the friendliest around. The rental rates are good too. They need to maintain the brakes on their vehicles better.

Imagine this: you go into hetz.com and reserve a car. You prepay for it and think that it’s all set. The date of the reservation arrives, you take a ride to the office to be there just in time, but when you arrive you find out that the office has been closed for weeks and that the car for which you paid for doesn’t exist. Well, that’s exactly what happened to me! When I arrived at the Niagara Falls Blv (at Amherst) location, the person at this site (who has nothing to do with Hertz) told me that Hertz at Niagara Falls (the city) used to rent part of that location as a satellite office, but that they had closed it “temporarily” several weeks before. He told me that I wasn’t the only one to have shown there to pick-up a non-existent car, in fact this have happened in a daily basis since the office closed. The only remnant of a Hertz office on that site was a Hertz sign and a piece of paper with the address and phone number of the Niagara Falls location (which is this one, at which I am leaving the review, located at about 10 miles away from Amherst). I called to that number, and of course no one picked-up my call. I left a voice message and never got a reply. The nightmare didn’t end there. When I called Hertz it was very difficult to speak with a real human being. When I was able to do so (after waiting 15 minutes in line) I received a very basic apology and I was only offered to get a refund on my credit card. All of this happened more than a week ago, and as of today I haven’t received the refund. Never ever in my life I will try to rent with Hertz again! I have just met another level of bad customer service.

I would have give negative stars for their service. I returned my car and I got confirmation of vehicle return from hertz. Even after that everyday they are deducting deposit and I am getting automated call about my vehicle is not returned. Tried calling hertz customer service multiple times, most of the time no one answers the call and when someone picked up they asked to reach out to Buffalo Niagara Airport directly as they have to close the deal . None picks up call at Hertz Niagara Airport and I left voicemail and still no response.

Well this was my exerience, I couldn't get anyone on the phone. I called three times on two different occasions. All I wanted to do is see if they could get a better deal than what enterprise offered. But I guess I'm gonna stick with enterprise... ????
Hertzs rental car prices are very reasonable. But the car it self needs upgrade. The car key does not open the trunk and it have to be done manualy. The car detect alarm was deactivated.
There was almost a 2 hour wait… everyone was very frustrated. Customer service was nice … but something must have been wrong with their scheduling …. I hope … there is no reason it should take that long to take a car!!!!

This place is a joke, if you want extras charges to your card after you return their dirty vehicle, then this place is for you. The customers service is terrible. The Niagara falls location that is. Especially Kari the branch manager. So rude and ignorant with her services. Do not rent from this place you will be so disappointed!!!
I apologise to anyone reading this in advance as this is going to be one of those long winded reviews. I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with hertz and the car I received. I originally booked a full size week long rental though AAA from this location. They didn't have a full size available so they upgraded me to an Infiniti Q50 to which I was very grateful of at the time. The car had mud in both the front and back seats that they had to clean off quickly with armorall wipes. It seemed no actual detail job was done between rentals but once again, it was a free upgrade so I was not going to complain. Not until I got onto the highways during my trip did I realize that the car pulled to the right a bit. Most likely an alignment issue. Unfortunately, it seemed to get progressively worse as the drive went on and was quite nerve wracking to deal with while driving on busy roads with 70mph speed limits. Got to my midpoint location for the night and called hertz assistance. There was unfortunately nothing locally open to exchange cars due to it being late on a Saturday. I was headed to Newport News the next day and it was mentioned to exchange the car at a local airport there. I agreed to drive the extra few hours the next day to exchange the car in Newport News airport. I was to meet up with family that afternoon whom I have not seen in years and had limited time with during this trip but I was close to the airport. Wanting to get this vehicle exchanged asap, I decided to go to the hertz right when I got into town. When I talked to the two very nice women at the counter (they actually seemed to feel really bad about the whole scenario and not being able to help) they informed that they had not been given any notice of this exchange and had no cars available for me of the size I needed. This was quite upsetting to say the least so after thanking them for their honestly and apologizing for the confusion, I left back to my hotel and once again called hertz. I had my grandfather's funeral the next day so this way the only day I could really take care of this. The man that I talked to said the closest car available was at Norfolk airport which was quite a bit further of a drive. I requested the car be delivered to the hotel to allow time for my gf and myself to get ready to go see my family as we were the only ones not there yet due to aforementioned issues. They agreed to deliver the vehicle which took between 1.5-2 hours which was right along with the time frame given. Car came on a flat bed with an updated contract and they took the original car away. They had given us a second Q50 which drive much better than the first but later in the week decided multiple times it did not want to recognize the key when trying to start the vehicle. We sat for up to 5 minutes at one point trying to start the car. This happened half a dozen times with no real pattern or consistency. I tried holding the key in the same hand I was pushing the button with and the brake pedal was pressed to alleviate any of those questions. Now that my trip is done, I have two extra charges of 54 dollars from hertz on my card to which I have no idea what they are for. I tried calling Hertz twice only to be on the automated hold for ten minutes only to be eventually hung up on both times. I eventually called AAA and filled a grievance with them which is going to be passed along to hertz. This experience has been incredibly frustrating all around and I am hoping the company is able to come up with some sort of resolution to make up for the added stress and time lost.

Tried to rent a car while my car is in for repairs. I reserved online got a confirmation and when I went to pick the car up I was denied using my Debit Mastercard. They said I needed a major credit card. I was so annoyed considering I used to rent from them all the time with great experiences.
Really limited for vehicles here. I made a reservation about 4 hours before pickup. When I went to pick it up I was told there was only 2 vehicles available both of which were compacts and I needed an SUV. Not the end of the world but when I got in the car it reeked of smoke. If you need a last minute rental I would suggest going somewhere else, perhaps the Buffalo airport.

My car was supposed to be waiting for me at the airport. However, no hertz cars where at the airport. Nothing at the desk in the airport telling us what was going on. I called the desk number and was told someone would pick us up and bring us to another place to get cars. The person who showed up brought a car big enough for 2ppl plus small luggage. There wasn't enough room because there were multiple parties from our flight that reserved rental cars from this company, so they had to make 2 trips. When we got to the office we were 6th in line to get our rental car, what's the point in "Gold" Status? The car wasn't ready, the car had not been cleaned, partially full cups of beverage, gummy bears all over the place, everything was sticky and the mileage was almost 1 thousand miles more on the car than what was on our paperwork. I was late to my meeting already so I took the car and called corporate and the hertz location I picked up from to ask for a new car or for the car to at least clean this car. Neither were willing to help.
Mainly a rental agency for Insurance companies , accident claims. Rented a compact car for a week and the car smelled as if it was used as a smoking hut. I rent cars for business travel often and unless my options are exhausted, never again from this location.

Just got on the phone with this Rob about renting a car, when he's replying back to me, really rude, saying I dont know man, we dont have that much cars available, right off the gieco, I have some, then He what do u want. Terrible customer service, it like they got this guy off the street or something. I go through Hertz a lot, usually top notch, but this guy, wow. Will go through Hertz again but not this Rob character, and is only about 15 seconds on the phone, just warning, avoid this guy.
I had great experience with hertz. I got taken care of right away when I came in and when I came to drop off the car rental. I also got a discount for bringing my car back early and I got back the money they withheld from my debit card within minutes of bringing my car back. I really couldn’t be happier. They were also really kind. I definitely will be back again.
Pathetic system.I booked a car, got confirmation email with bar code, planned my tour accordingly.when i went to their office I was denied a car by their system !!! I am standing with my family in rain with no clue of what to do. Luckily Avis offered a car at Buffalo airport. So be careful even if you have a confirmation number
We flew in to Niagra and had a reservation for the weekend. It was still during business hours on saturday. They wouldn't answer their phone. Went to the location and it was all closed up without anyone to be found. When we finally got ahold of someone they said we were out of Luck and try driving to Buffalo. Luckily Enterprise is a better company and helped us out. Almost ruined our weekend.

It was great! I was only in the office about 5 min. They took my information, drove the car to the door and away I went. When the rental was over, I parked the car, dropped the keys in the box. I prepaid the gas so I did not have to worry about filling the tank. The rental experience was great!

I Booked a reservation for 4 days @ $800.00 I informed hertz agent that we needed to change the drop off to a different location approximately 70 miles from original location. Agent gave me a estimate cost for the drop off which wasn’t to much from original cost we assumed we were good to go about only to find out that Hertz billed my card $2400.00 for the change of drop off location. No agent was at the airport to receive my car only drop box for keys. If I had known I would of took a shuttle to the airport and saved $1600.00…I’ve talk to every broken English rep and each one apologized but theres nothing to be done. I will be contacted the attorney general office to file a claim against this fraud act also I reversed the charges on my card and they are investigating this act, unbelievable that a bankrupt company with extremely poor customer service could have the rights to charge what ever they feel to be justified!!!

I recieved a loan vehicle from these people and they charged me 75 dollars because they said I didn’t fill the tank. I called them and the best they could do was give me 20 dollars back. Still have not received that and no call back from the manager. I used a half of tank and put 30 dollars Into it.

Worst ever experience with this rental agency for rental car. When went to pick up the car, they couldn't able to provide me the car even though it was a pre paid booking. My total Niagara trip got ruined as there were no cars in any agency. Asked for the refund..called to customer service several times and even emailed to them..no response till now..

Hertz gave me a pickup address at Niagra Airport, I arrived on time 1 pm on a Tuesday nobody was there. Hertz 800 number said I was in right place. The taxi company I called actually knew that Hertz wasn't available at Airport and took me several miles away where car was actually located. They wasted my time and money and refused to compensate me anything. Its absurd that the taxi company knows more about where to get my car than Hertz did. HERTZ IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE AND SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED.
