Well, I used York Car Rental car rentals at least twice a year, whenever i visit my sister in Toronto and I always came away satisfied. the staff is nice and polite, the cars always arrive in excellent condition and i think the prices are fair and quite cheap for an exotic car in the city. If I have to recommend a car rental company, I will definitely send my friend to you guys!

ATTENTION POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS: Website terms and conditions state that if there is a delay in scheduling (I.e. flight delays) you can call in to make arrangements. Our flight was delayed by a couple hours outside of our control so we called to make adjustments. What they don’t tell you is that will likely cost you over $400 as it did for us. We were told that there is literally nothing they can do which is hard to believe. You’re telling me it is literally impossible for a booking to be pushed out or to be rebooked at the new date/time honoring the existing price or even just to leave a sticky note for the front staff to hold the car for a couple extra hours? Can provide pictures of communications if a potential customer is interested. TL;DR: if your flight is delayed, it may cost you a pretty penny. Not worth the risk.

This particular location was very welcoming and accommodating. Needing a rental, I just googled the closest car rental to me and this location popped up. Upon my arrival I was immediately offered assistance. Once I explained my situation (car accident, car was in the shop), the staff were very caring and friendly and did their best to get me in and out within a short amount of time. The car given to me was a brand new Mercedes.

This is a hidden gem. The only place opened on a Saturday until 6pm. I literally had no other choice, the price is cheaper than every other rental place, the customer service was fast, efficient and hassle free. The car I got was a brand new 7 seater which was cheaper than my expectation. Will definitely recommend this place.

The customer service is by far the the worst. This is my fifth company all those years. Be careful of what you discuss with them. Keep record. The person who serviced me, claimed that he was the owner of the business and the way he behaved and the way he treated me was like coming from a 3rd world country but not from Canada. No respect at all and ptrying to play the "Who is the smartest" game. They use the "Next Car" car rental company for their advertisement and to gain trust and customers, but they ruin Next Car's reputation. Be careful guys! Sorry, nothing nice to write about them as a customer.

I had a long day and had to make an hour and a half drive to Niagara. I had reserved a car with another company but when I got there, there were issues and they could not rent to me. I was devastated because it was getting really late at night and I was in the middle of nowhere. I was referred to york car rental and it was the best place I could have ever went to. They picked me up in a luxury car from the location I was stuck at. The rental agent Shadi was extremely kind and patient. She really made the transaction stress free and I was in a beautiful car within minutes. When I went to drop the car off I got lost and I began to panic and fear. Called after 2 months and the manager said they charged me 500 $ for under ages driving. Which was not said When i get the car . They are scammers believe avoid it other you regret it future for damm sure .

It was Christmas Eve at 1:30 pm and my husband returned from work to tell me that I had a flat on the vehicle we were planning to take on a 4 hour road trip. Can’t drive on a doughnut tire that far, all repair places closing and all car rental places closing early. Found the link to York and called. They were already closed but Michael drove back to the office and re-opened to get us a car for our trip. Very impressive level of service. We appreciate him saving our trip!

HIGHWAY ROBBERY: Heads up people of this car rental company, located at Holiday Inn Airport hotel. I rent a car last Sept 21-25, thru EXPEDIA.ca. And I was charge of camera toll fee in an October 1 trip, which I am no longer driving the car. I left Ontario last Sept. 25. I called first Expedia.ca about the charges but they won't help me anymore, Expedia told me to call York Car Rental. Expedia is washing their hands after they got their share. I deal with Expedia in this car rental, that's why I call them first. Beware of this car rental thru Expedia, there are bunch of hidden charges. 1.Excess kms, when you tell them, you are going to drive out of province, which was not listed during the time of reservation. You have no choice, then to say yes. 2. Licensing fee. 3.Maintenance fee. 4.Recovery fee. 5. Premium location change fee 6.Sevice fee. 7. Camera toll fee Hi way 427, 400, 403QEW.(407 toll charge) Don't rent a car with York car rental and Expedia.ca car rental. Always go with the big ones, like Avis car rental and Enterprise rent a car. You will not win of your complains with them and Expedia.ca. Cheap price during on line deal with Expedia.ca their accomplice, but when you pick up the car, the hidden charges will kill you instantly. This is a real highway robbery.

Price was reasonable up front, but beware getting charged on the back end. We had a van for a week with 3 kids in October. There was understandably some sand and pine needles in the car when we dropped it off, but nothing that 10 minutes with a vacuum cleaner couldn't cure. See below. Charged us $300 for detailing, and $5 / liter for not bringing the car back with a full gas tank. $500 total in extra charges! Was not really in a position to argue since we had to leave ASAP for an international flight, but now having the luxury of time I can post this one-star review. If you own a car rental agency, you should have staff available that can vacuum the car.

The process of giving me a new rental car was quick and easy and they provided excellent service. I had no problem with my rental during the 10 weeks that I rented it for. What can I say about this York car rental location except for how they were super accommodating to me from the second I walked through the door (without a reservation) as my vehicle was being worked on and soon after I entered the building. A flood of people came through, and they got to everyone in a quick timely manner. Michael was super helpful, as was the rest of the staff. The vehicle I own decided to give me a rental from their lot, so I returned my car same day....Again without even calling. (I had not ever dealt with York as my insurance company has a contract with a different brand. )They again were more than prompt accommodating, and emailed me the remaining, final paper work. Not without walking around the car and inspecting it for me. Again, thank you all for being so helpful and I highly recommend this place

just rented a car from this location. It honestly couldn't have gone better. I was running late because I had been having a really difficult morning. I suffer from anxiety and things had been building for me this morning. When I got to the York Car Rental,there were a couple people ahead of me. The phone was ringing a lot and it was making me feel even more anxious as I was already very stressed (not York's fault as they were helping customers). When I started going over my reservation with Michael, I asked him to answer the phone, explaining that I suffer from anxiety, had a hard morning and the phone was making it worse. He immediately answered the phone, which I was so grateful for. He was SO understanding, calm and kind, which helped me feel more calm. He made the whole process easy and clear for me, which I really needed. He also gave me a discount, which was very kind. The great deal of humanity that he showed means everything to me. He didn't get upset or impatient with me, as people often can, but instead treated me with such respect and empathy. I am SO grateful for what he did, and will certainly be calling on Monday to speak to his manager and ensure he is recognized for going far above and beyond the call of duty. The worst experience on customer service ever. its cheap but they charge you extra after. Got an extra email saying that they got charge from 407 ETR TOLL for $24.01 but they charge me a total of $89.61 because he said the we are not allowed to pay the toll fee that's why they charge us extra $50 for the service charge + $15.60 for camera and trip toll charge. This is a highway rubbery for charging to much. He was mad and yelling at me (name mike A) because he said why bringing the car to the 407 Road? How will I know that the road has toll fee if I came from another province where there's no toll fee at all. Well toll fee is only $24.01is acceptable but service charge of extra $50 and $15.60?Isn't too much????

He was professional, super friendly and was able to answer all my questions regarding insurance covered rentals (I was in a not at fault accident, and was provided rental coverage). Insurance is offered to you and is ‘compulsory to rent. $ 20 per day. We had a (tiny) windshield impact from a truck on the road. They asked us $ 3000 (= 2000 euros) deductible and then supposedly reimburse us. We weren't able to afford this exorbitant sum for so little! And nothing guaranteed us to be reimbursed afterwards for the difference knowing that we were about to return to France. Finally they told us that we would be stuck with them. A few days later, on the bank account, an additional withdrawal of 450 euros was taken from us by the company !!!! (they used the imprint of the bank card they printed to make the rental) this is strictly forbidden without our agreement. It is a shame, and we will do what is necessary to assert our rights. Do not book with them. (Original) Je déconseille fortement cette entreprise de location. Ce sont des escrocs. Le prix est attractif mais vous n’allez jamais payer ce prix. Une assurance vous est proposée et est ‘ obligatoire ‘ pour louer. 20$ par jour. Nous avons eu un impact pare brise ( minuscule ) du à un camion sur la route. Ils nous ont demandé 3000$ (=2000 euros) de franchise pour ensuite soit disant nous rembourser. Nous n’étions pas en mesure de payer cette somme exorbitante pour si peu ! Et rien nous assurait d’être rembourser par la suite de la différence sachant que nous étions sur le point de rentrer en France. Finalement ils nous ont dit que nous serions fichés chez eux. Quelques jours plus tard, sur le compte bancaire, un prélèvement supplémentaire de 450 euros nous a été prélevé par l’entreprise!!!! ( ils se sont servis de l’empreinte de la carte bancaire qu’ils ont imprimé pour faire la location ) c’est formellement interdit sans accord de notre part. C’est une honte, et nous ferons le nécessaire pour faire valoir nos droits. Ne réservez pas chez eux.

In sharing about my rental experience, I must give credit to Michael who assisted me. Michael was professional, calm, cool and collected considering he was the only one working the desk. His multi-tasking ability was SUPERB!!! I was really impressed with how he handled us as customers in such a respectful manner. Very Impressive!! I have to share this story. The SUV I rented was very classy (Michael gave me an upgrade). I rested my driver’s license in the middle section of this SUV and somehow my license slid on this inside and I couldn't reach it nor see it. I called Michel and told him my dilemma and I took the car back to York Car Rental where he tried tirelessly to get my license (two different license) from where they had fallen. Needless to say, he had to call their shop and the SUV was taken there and pulled the inside apart and thank God both my licenses were retrieved. Michael you are AWESOME! you maintained such composure during all of this while busy giving good customer service to others. I'm grateful for Michael and all he did for me.

Received a friendly service, a clean car in a very good driving condition. They offer competitive and reasonable rates. One thing to note which may not be clear to the customer is that unlimited mileage is only within Ontario. Customer will incurr additional rates if car is driven outside the province.

Had a great experience with this company after I had an accident in December, from start to finish they took care of every detail, they dealt with my insurance company when they insisted on using different company that didn’t even had equivalent car had been a little skeptical at first because my insurance company was urging me to take rental from their preferred rental company, but I am thoroughly satisfied with my decision to rent a car from York Car Rental. This company made sure to keep me well informed throughout the process, answering any questions I had. They took a pre-authorization on my credit card which was held for 5 business days and then they released it. Manager and all staff were very helpful. Thank you to Michael and his Team. They even shuttled me to the body shop at my request. I highly recommend York Car Rental. Hopefully I won’t be back unless it is to just say Hi, but I will certainly recommend you to all my family and friends.

WARNING!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS LOCATION!! I rented a car from this location as I was traveling to Quebec. I reserved the car under the pretence that I was allowed unlimited km. I went to pick up the vehicle and was told that the "unlimited km" option was only for travel in Ontario and not outside the province (lie #1). I rented the vehicle and traveled to Quebec and returned back to York Car Rental to return back the car. The "manager" of the company came outside to look and inspect the car, got into the vehicle and returned the vehicle to the rear parking. I paid my fee and was given a receipt...my dealings with this company were done right??? Well not quite....the following day at 2 pm, I received an email from the same "manager" that inspected the vehicle saying that he noticed a crack in the windshield and he didn't notice it before because the vehicle was "too dirty" (the vehicle was sent back to him immaculate!). I obviously questioned the veracity of his claim and said that he just noticed it that particular day....but not when he inspected it.....I've now been taken to collections and apparently I owe $1000.00 for a crack! This company is backwards and they are looking for money cause' they were hit hard by COVID. STAY AWAY!!!! BTW I had to give them one star as they wouldn't let me give them ZERO which is what they deserve!! CROOKS!!!

Rented a car from them. You can rent a transponder for the 407. I was heading towards Barrie so I didn’t want a daily rental fee( had the car 9 days) for transponder. I knew I would be on 407 only once. A few weeks later I got an email with a bill from York Car Rental. The 407 toll was a little over $14. But they charged me a $50 fee to process the toll for me. That is highway robbery. I can handle an administration fee but $50 is unbelievably accessive. These guys are crooks

The employee (Michael Fathi) the worst customer service representative i ever met. Never greeted properly and charge more for the service. He used rental car for his personal work. When i returned the car he already know where the damages are on the even those damages were covered under the dirt he cleaned that and pointed immediately without taking look on the car. It seem he used that car daily. Never recommend to anyone. Bad bad experience. I want to rate less than one star if possible.

Do not rent car at this company !! We rented a car for 2 days and when we return , they found a small scratch on rear bump (that in other companies it was not even charged). To the repair cost of this scratch (~500 CAD) they add 250 CAD for processing fees !!. This processing fee is not covered by any insurance. In addition to toll road charge of 15 CAD they add 50 CAD of processing fees. The scam is simple: the price is reasonable when you order (we did it via Expedia) but then they extra charge you on any minor issue (see above examples).

When you arrive expect that even though you are quoted a price of 230$ for 3 days that they will turn around and almost double the price. Costumer service on the phone even ensured me of the final price. I showed up on the date and was asked to pay double. Horrible place do not recommend. “Edit for the comment under” - I booked on the phone, told them my age, and that I am insured. Stop replying back to comments saying the opposite of what your costumers experienced and start fixing problems by properly training your staff.

Great service delivering a rental to me at the collision reporting centre. However, their hours of 10-5 Monday to Friday are not very helpful and they are not accommodating. I had to take a day off work to return the rental as they do not have a drop box either. Edit: I was not given the option to drop the car off anywhere else. This information is false. I asked what my options were and was repeatedly told 10 to 5. Considering they charged a $100 drop off fee to bring me the car at 7pm at night, I figured they could take a return at the same time
