If I could give a zero, I sure as hell would. I rented a car in Frankfurt Germany and what a nightmare. My wife and I drove from the airport to Frankfurt city center and by the next day I was totally sick with a virus. We stayed three days out of our two weeks. We caught an early flight home. I took the rent a car back six days early which we are NOT getting a refund for. Next I get an extra charge for a car upgrade which we didn’t ask for and didn’t even get. Then I get a letter in the mail saying I damaged the car which we didn’t and why wouldn’t they tell me this when I returned it?? I remember my credit card company telling I have extra car insurance when I’m renting a vehicle, so I called and they told me that this company does this all the time. Now I have a battle with them.

Terrible. They charged our credit card 3 times a month and a half AFTER travelling to Toronto??? After calling back to ask why, they were persistent on saying that we will not get our money back and never clarifying what we were even charged for. After asking for an invoice, we get some phoney looking piece of paper in the mail with a ton of numbers, where it looks like they just asked their 3 year old for random numbers! Nothing adds up or makes sense. I hope none of you even consider using this GARBAGE, con artists rental company

i never write a review on any web sites but i must write this one.worst experince ever. I rented a jeep wrangler with my wife and one of my friends on july.09.2018 at 3:30 from richmonhill store located on 10619 yonge st , ontario ,L4C 3C5. The lady was very nice at begining and tried to show us that she gave us the best deal and so we trusted them ..our mistake was that we didnt check the car carefully as the car was wet we didnt catch that damage and also we trusted them as they said there is nothing wrong with the car ..long story short we pick up the car to go to the place we wanted to go and we reached there in less than 5 minutes and we stopped on yong and hwy7 at silvercity plazza as soon we parked the car my wife and my friend noticed there is dent on the front bumper so we called them right away and told them . but they said no it's all ur fault and you hit it somewhere and that me and my wife and my friend are all lying. I showed the car to 3 different bodyshops they all said its not new and was from before .basicly now they want to get money from me and they blamed it on me because I am sure the damage was there and it's not fair for me to pay for it..they were not even listening to me. I think they knew about it and it was planned and they were trying to blame it on someone so they won't pay for the damage...any how i highly do not recommend this place to rent cars . But if you have to make sure you check all over the car becouse at the first before you rent they all act very nice to you but when any problem happen they completely change even when i ask owner to let me finish my talk he said he is not a human and can't listen or talk to me...very unprofessional..very bad experience and the money I have to pay is not fair. This was planned they knew about it and tried to blame it on someone else so they won't pay for it...

No explanation on the operation of the vehicle by the agent who gives you the keys. In use a GPS that we paid for nothing because it worked badly and the so-called Carmine is not practical at all. When the Avis vehicle returns, it charges nearly $ 4 per missing liter instead of $ 1.12. It's a shame The World's Worst Rental Agency Long live HERTZ (Original) UN SERVICE MÉDIOCRE VOIR INEXISTANT. Horrible Experience! The Brakes on my rental vehicle FAILED and then I got a HUGE BILL for it months later! I spent good money to rent a SUV from AVIS. While driving in a really remote area, a front brake caliper locked up, leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I called emergency roadside assistance and they weren't able to bring me a vehicle until the next day! I was assured I wouldn't be charged for the replacement vehicle if I held tight through the night. Good thing I was on a camping trip and had supplies! A new vehicle came the next day and I didn't think much more about it. Then, 3 MONTHS LATER I got a towing bill for $1098.58 ON TOP OF THE COST OF THE RENTAL! The story doesn't end there. When calling and emailing AVIS to try to dispute the charge they told me several times they would refund the charge and never did!

Zero stars if I could. Their customer service is terrible. Had to make changes to a rental, was told they couldn't accommodate the change and would issue a refund instead. Days go by, no refund was issued. I contact the customer service department again and was advised that no refund was issued, nor could they do anything about it since it was past the rental date ???? It was not past the rental date when the initial refund was supposed to be issued. Requested to speak to a supervisor or escalations department. Was told by multiple people on multiple occasions that I should just fill out a feedback form on the website. Did that, three times, no response from anyone. This company is a joke. Use literally any other car rental service in Canada.

Hi We rented an Edge from Toronto Pearson Airport for one day on Thursday 16th Sept at 2.27PM. We had some issues with the Brakes so brought it back driving 160Kms to the Airport on 17th Sept at 6.30AM. They were efficient to replace the vehicle, but just as we were at the Airport counter - the Edge was taken away without our knowledge and we had our Original Samsung Phone charger along with all its wires etc, costing $62.48 . Noone could place the SUV and finally the SUV came back after near 1.5 hours waiting with the Phone charger missing. We were promised by the Manager on duty (Friday 17th Sept at 7AM) that he will take action. Note this is not a lost and found case, we did not forget the Charger - we had not even returned the SUV, we just came in to talk with the Counter. This is a case of someone picking it from the SUV. We did not forget the charger. Its been a week - many calls and messages left to manager. No response. V bad experience with Avis. After 2 hours when the Edge came back they mention some smell. Note we are non-smokers. They confirmed that smell was not of smoke. I asked them to get it organically tested and confirm what smell they were getting, because I could not get any smell. Bad experience. First time we rented from Avis.

Avis Budget has the nicest, newest car selection ok n from any bbn of the available agencies. The people are friendly and are there to help you. I highly recommend renting from them whenever you can.

Had a car booked for pickup on Sunday. Was called and told it was no longer available as another client that had a car accident and they needed the car I had booked. I was very disappointed. TJ the manager called me and informed me that he would honor my booking and solve the other clients accident separately. TJ, I really appreciate your attention to my needs and my business.

Zero I have a rent car from Markham office, they told me do not worry about the scratch as we never look on it when you return it, I did not inspect or point some scratch, when I returned back ,HE GOT THE KEY while I am in the office AND DID SOME LIGHT SCRATCH ON IT AND WANT TO CHARGE ME worst People and rental company you ever see.

Terrible experience and worst customer service I have ever encountered. Avis accidentally charged my credit card twice, ($1052 x 2) at time of reservation and I called immediately to have this sorted. They gave me a case number for the refund. It's been 4 weeks since this "internal error". I called several times throughout the process and was informed it would take a few business days each. I've informed them the urgency of this and my credit card bill is due tomorrow. I should not have to pay for their mistake. Unfortunately all they responded was there is nothing they can do about the reimbursement system and that this will be refunded after my credit card due date. It is ridiculous that it takes them over 4 weeks to refund an accidental charge. Think twice before renting from Avis.
