Avois this place!!! I have read reviews about this place but still decided to go with them (only affordable rental during labour day weekend). I booked through hotwire and called for conformation. Booking was from 8 pm Friday till 8 on Monday. Upon returning my car on Monday around 6, i notice they are closed and put a hand made paper saint that they close at 6 that day. So I'm stuck with my rental car, my own car is ob their parking lot (blocked by their cars), no keys drop box. 2 other families are there too wondering what's going on. Anyhow, i go back to south shore home. Next day i come at lunch break. They say its on ok for the late but they wanted me to tell gasoline which i didn't want since our was their responsibility to be open or notify me. After waiting for the manager to come and arguing, he gave up and corrected return date and set no extra charge on gas. 2 days later i see i got the charge on my cc. Big scammers stay away. Edit: oh and the car was not washed, cleaned and smelled smoke when i got it but i had no choice it was the only one available

Quite possibly the worst customer experience I have ever had. Car was dirty and not filled with gas. When I brought back the car and showed him the papers and candy left behind by the previous client he just shrugged. Terrible experience

PayLess car rental, near 'Dorval' airport. Dealt with them directly. Got picked up at the 'departure' level instead of Arrival (with others for the GrandPrix), and brought to the car rental area. All fine there. A Honda Civic 4 door was suppose to be the car, but a Volks Golf was brought in. I upgraded to a Volks Jetta for 3$ per day more. Fine. Rented 12 days (June 2016), unlimited mileage, and as I have my personal car insurance credit card, all looked after. My departure was at midnight, and brought the car before 9pm, got checked, signed. My experience was good with them. The only Quebec driving?? New to me. J. Jack J. Jack

If I could chose 0 star I would go for it. Worst service I ever had renting a car. Useless and waste of time. 40 min to get a navette to pickup the car. Then wrong license plate on the contract and so on. Big disappointment, tires of being abused.

Staff were very friendly but if you go into the gas station next door to fill up gas which is suggested by staff then you have to drive 10 minutes back on the highway to get to drop off because of one way street.

Same experience as Mimi C. It's been an hour and 3 calls and the shuttle still isn't here. Not fun, anytime, especially not with a child and after a long flight!!

!!DO NOT HIRE A CAR WITH THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE THE WORST CLIENT SERVICE EVER!! Worst rental experience ever, will not rent again. Poor client service, I had to call 3 times so they pick me up at the airport. The car they gave me was not even clean, there were Pistachios shells all over the car. I mentioned I had to return the car during the night in my reservation but when I tried to confirm when I picked it up they told me no return was possible at night since they were closed. The only way for me to return it was to drop it off at Avis location at the terminal with a 25$ extra fee I had no choice but to pay. Poor service, Poor quality. P.S I made a proper complaint as suggested on the comment by the owner below. I got a reply after a few days saying they can't help me at all and won't change anything to my invoice.

Beware, this is not at the airport. The shuttle driver has a Dodge Caravan which will park behind the MUCH larger shuttle busses so that he's invisible and leave the area without you. Then when you call to complain the staff will be rude to you. For a few bucks more, use Dollar or Thrifty which are on the airport property and very courteous and you won't have to go through this hassle.

Rented from Payless Car Rental; I guess they're new because when returning the car I noticed it only said Budget & Avis. Had to do a big detour. Not easily accessible from the airport but they offer a free shuttle service.

Be warned, this company has zero customer service. Our plane landed 15 minutes late in Montreal, tried calling the number given to us on the email, this number was not registered!!! Called the 800 number and got the local number. Began calling at 1915hrs, called until 2015hrs. Simply got an answering machine saying they were busy with other customers. We needed to get picked up with the shuttle. At 2015 discovered the office was shut!!!! Called the next morning and was told that late arrivals will not be tolerated!!!! Our car was gone!!!! Have now rented a car from a local outfit in Vaudreuil!!!! Be warned this company sucks!!!!!

Went to the rental car space at the airport & was told to go to door #8 to get shuttle... Get to door 8, no shuttle so I Call “Information” to get One to learn that there is no more shuttles, ever. Gotta walk back to the taxis with a 100lbs of luggages to learn that it’s 17.50$ minimum from the airport to anywhere. It’s already obvious at this point that I would have saved money and a lot of time if I had only picked another company operating from the airport. Place is so hard to access that I had take another cab after my drop off 2 days later. Why do you advertise as an “airport based” company? PayMore rental Car

Not located at the airport... No instructions on where the shuttle is... Called 3 times to arrange a shuttle. An hour later, still no shuttle. Waste of time... Don't bother with this place.

Just to let u know this company has zero customer service. One of the employee yelled at me. I called the next day some one answered me I asked for the managers he said yes I explained what happened and he said he is going to call me back but did not. I tried to reach their manager but I couldn’t.

The problem was with the return on 14/05/2017, a Sunday. I marked the location that needed to deliver the vehicle at the airport at 9 pm, and the fee I paid already had this condition. As a precaution and as I was staying in the region, I stopped by the store just to confirm the schedule, I was poorly attended, the employee who was on duty very rude, nervous, moody, very different from what I met from Canadians during my 15-day trip . He wanted to charge a fee of $ 25 to receive the car at the airport, as I had already booked this at the location. The other option for not paying the extra fee would be to leave the vehicle at the store until 5 pm that the employee would take us to the airport. I agreed. But that was the worst part, the worst experience. The nervous employee, cursing, sulking. Horrible service. If this is really a serious company that cares about their corporate image and the customer, they need to do something about this employee. Easy to identify, he was the only one on duty on 14/05/2017 (Sunday in the afternoon). Until then, the image I had of the company was good, but the experience with this specific employee ended it all. Poorly trained. Rude. Unprofessional. It has tarnished the image of the company that has good cars and good prices. O aluguel foi pelo site, preço bom e condições apresentadas por eles atrativas. Na chegada uma boa surpresa, um ótimo carro nos esperava, tava limpo e abastecido. O problema foi na devolução no dia 14/05/2017, um domingo. Eu marquei na locação que precisava entregar o veículo no aeroporto as 21 horas, e a taxa que paguei já tinha essa condição. Por precaução e como estava hospedado na região, passei na loja só pra confirmar o horário, fui mal atendido, o funcionário que estava de plantão muito mal educado, nervoso, mal humorado, bem diferente do que conheci dos canadenses durante minha viagem de 15 dias. Ele queria cobrar uma taxa de 25 dólares para receber o carro no aeroporto, sendo que eu já tinha marcado isso na locação. A outra opção pra não pagar a taxa extra seria deixar o veículo na loja até às 17 horas que o funcionário nos levaria até ao aeroporto. Concordei. Mas essa foi a pior parte, pior experiência. O funcionário nervoso, xingando, mal humorado. Atendimento horrível. Se essa for realmente uma empresa séria e que se preocupa com a imagem empresarial deles e com o cliente, eles precisam fazer alguma coisa quanto a este funcionário. Fácil identificar, era o único de plantão no dia 14/05/2017 (domingo na parte da tarde). Até então a imagem que eu tinha da empresa era boa, mas a experiência com este funcionário em específico acabou com tudo. Mal treinado. Mal educado. Pouco profissional. Manchou a imagem da empresa que tem bons carros e bons preços. Não sei se ele estava com problemas ou com o salário atrasado, sei que não estava de bem com a vida nem com os clientes que levam lucro pra empresa.

Never ever rent car from this company. They are liar. They close soon but don't say this to you to charge you more. I rented a car at 7pm and I returned next day at 7pm, but they ware closed, and charged me 25$ because of delay. I wasted my time arguing with them and finally I took my money back.

Decent deal but car wasn't washed or cleaned inside upon picking it up. There were still old parking slips on the dash and garbage inside the car and the outside was filthy. Also apparently it only comes with 1 driver allowed as opposed to many other companies where your spouse can also drive. The shuttle driver tried to tell us we couldn't install our car seat for our 2 year old at the airport in his minivan because it would take too long. It only takes about 30 seconds to install and is extremely unsafe and illegal for a 2 year old to ride without it. Honestly probably better off booking with a different company and paying slightly more.

I'm not sure if things have changed, maybe management has been reading the reviews but I must admit my experience with Payless was awesome, we rented October 11th till the 13th. We were greeted with a smile, she asked us if we had reservation. The car was ready in 5 minutes, paperwork was done swiftly, without any hiccups. She upgraded the vehicle to accommodate our cargo which probably wouldn't of fit in the Jetta we originally had. Car was clean, full of gas, had around 10k kms. We returned it 2 days later, employees were once again smiling, very pleasant to deal with. They closed the bill with the exact charges. A+++++, not much more I can say! See you again when we have another business trip!
