I used the service in December. What I loved the most about these guys is that from the time I walked in to get the rental till I dropped it off they were all helpful, polite and ready to assist. From the front desk staff to other employees in the offices. There was an issue with my registration. When I came to pick up my rental van the guy at the reception was friendly and eager to help, and when he reached out to one his colleagues they came out right away and assisted him with my issue. I was the only customer in the front, so there was no rush or line up yet they all showed up with a sense of urgency. Then when I dropped off my car, I had another issue with my insurance and although at the time I came in the receptionist wasnt there, I was assisted right away by another member who came out of his meeting room with another customer. I later found out he is the assistang manager. I truly appreciate how friendly they are, that their service is to the point and they helped me right away. It's the reason I am certain I will be renting cars in the future from them and not the 'big names'.

Update1: You still breached the contract by charging CAD1000+tax because my signed contract clearly mentioned that the maximum deductible is CAD500. And let me reiterate, my responsibility of the vehicle ends when someone sits on the driving seat and move the vehicle from place where we left it. And unfortunately I didn’t see the reviews here before because apparently this is not the first time you have done this with a client. —————— I have been charged CAD1149.75 on my credit card without any preauthorization. I rented a truck on the 20th of August 2021 and return it the same day, i.e., on the night of 20th of August 2021. The very next day, early in the morning 6:45AM, I received an email with an updated contract with the cost of additional Kms(contract closed). 10 hours later, I was contacted by Ms. Fatima, claiming that there is damage to the truck but she didn't provide me any proof. The pics she provided were taken when the truck was already been moved and washed. How come it is my responsibility if the truck is already been moved? Despite my email inquiry, she didn't provide any more information. On top of that, how can you charge me CAD 1000+tax when my signed contract clearly says "the maximum CDW limits your responsibility to damage or of theft of vehicle to $500". That charge of CAD1149.75 should be returned to my credit card as soon as possible. The conduct on your part is highly unethical and uncalled for. Note: I will update this review once they contact me or return my email.

The contract and the bill they sent me do not line up and now they are trying to sting me with a $1000 charge for a scuff on a side bumper of a van the size of a 10c coin that I didnt even make. Globe Car Rental/Location Auto Montreal is cheap, and the cars are fine, and the service is good. However, the location is quite far away. Very inconvenient for someone without a car. They take FOREVER to fill out the paperwork. I cannot believe how long it takes them to simply rent me a car. Nobody budgets an extra 45minutes to an hour into their day for paperwork. If you have absolutely nothing better to do than sit around their offices, then maybe you won't mind. I had some friends who rented a car from these guys yesterday, and the time it took to fill our paperwork made made them quite late for the family event they were coming too. I had my family waiting or me at a metro with all their luggage while I sat there as pages and pages of forms are filled out. Its like they asked a lawyer to define their business processes, and they don't seem to care that it might be a massive inconvenience. The difference in price isn't worth it. Rent from one of the big companies in town, and save yourself the tedium.

Buyer beware - I've had just awful experiences with Globe. I booked a car for a few consecutive months, I had to wait almost 2 hours when I picked up the car since it wasn't ready at the designated time. No apology or appreciation for having lost valuable time. Then a few weeks later, they wanted to swap the car so I can have winter tires. I had to drive across town to accommodate them and when I get there, the car isn't ready for a swap and they wanted me to wait a few hours again. I contacted one of the owners, a Mr. Mendelsohn, and he has yet to get back to me to solve this. It's quite sad they don't value their clients' time and I'll certainly be avoiding this company in the future. Also - as a note for those renting a Tesla 3, they only have the basic version with RWD which is an interesting choice given the famous Montreal winters.

The service provided by Global Car Rental was excellent. They answered all my questions before and during my trip. I rented a Hyundai Elantra, it was perfect for the trip, with many great features like lane assist, safety features, and I was able to connect my phone to the car and display the navigation on the screen. Amine was a great help, answered my questions regarding the rental and prepared the car shortly after I arrived. The 250 KM a day was more than enough, and it's offered as an accumulative for the number of days you rent. I was able to go from Montreal to Quebec City and back, Montreal to Ottawa and back, still having 800 km left out of the 2000 KM. The price for the rental was very reasonable, and the cherry on the top was Global Car Rental provided me with the most recent model/year for the Hyundai Elantra. Thanks, Amine and Global Car Rental for making the process fast and easy.

Overcharging me, hidden costs and charging me again weeks later. I rented a car for 4 days online and it stated online it would be $68.00 for the 4 days without insurance. after booking and confirming, everything still stated the 68 dollars. when i went to pick it up, i was told it was free shuttle service to the pick up location from billy bishop (it was not, i was charged $11 extra). I then had to use a call machine to speak to the agent to confirm pick up and receive keys. while talking to him, the price jumped up to $117.00 dollars plus insurance for 79.99 (later, there was an extra 39.99 extra on insurance as well). I obviously need insurance, but no one told me about the extra cost. I asked if it had winter tires and they said it did, which it only had all seasons so i ended up getting stuck after a snow storm. I was also never told about a maximum limit of kilometers on their website and was told when I was on the phone, which wasn't enough so i was charged after for overage. again, I'm fine with paying the overage, but on the final bill it was added onto it, yet i was charged again weeks later for it. when i called their office, they told me it was for the km overage, but it was already charged in the final bills. when i looked into the bill, I was also charged the shuttle bus fee $11.68 to drive me 1km down the street, and a plate fee for 5.96, which somehow adds up to 24.61 on my bill. Lastly, When i tried to return it, i arrived 10min before closing, and there were no designated spots left to leave the car. I tried asking the security staff there but they knew nothing about it. I tried calling on the kiosk again and mid way through dialing the machine frozen and then shut down and restarted. I tried calling customer support but no one answers. they have no after hours assistance, and i waited over 20min for the kiosk to work before giving up and leaving the car in a paid spot. Worst experience renting a car i have ever had.

Globe car is the best place to rent cars from! I have been renting cars in Canada on and off for the last 15 years from many different companies. I normally choose based on the best price i can find online. In 2008 I heard about Globe and realized that they always have the best price. On top of that the service is better than any other rental company. They always upgrade to a nicer car and maintain all their cars very well. I recently sold my personal car so am renting more frequently and Globe remains my number 1 choice!! Other rental companies just don't care about the clients like Globe does!!

Rented a car from globe back in late September and only now after returning from Dallas, TX and dealing with both Avis and hertz over there did I realize how superior Globe is to its competition. It is very transparent how Globe values their employees and puts the needed time for training. I had the pleasure of Dealing with a young gentleman that if I can recall correctly was named Marco I believe he was a manager, all I can say is WOW, he really went the extra mile for us, made sure car was spotless, dealt with a few minor issues we had, and catered to our time constraints, left there feeling like a platinum member of globe, (but I am not ) As an owner of a talent acquisition firm My advice to the owners of this establishment is to do what you can to keep him, I would hire him in a second.

I rented a car for the first time with Globe this past weekend. My advice to anyone thinking about renting with them is to be VERY CAREFUL. I went with Globe because they had the best quote when comparing local rental companies (and also because Enterprise which is my go-to for rentals did not have anything available on short notice). Be vary that you get what you pay for. Firstly, there is blatantly false or misleading advertising on their website. "Free GPS included". The 2021 Hyundai Elantra that I had was the basic model and had no GPS despite being advertised as included in all vehicles. "Unlimited KMs available". Note that with the cheap rate you get with Globe, you only have 250km/day of mileage included. If you want unlimited, there is additional fee of13$/day. And be sure to read the fine print because it's not even unlimited, its 4000kms total and only if you are driving in certain provinces/states. If you go outside the designated area they will bill you per km and you could end of paying a huge bill if you were unaware. They inspect the car beforehand, but be sure you also do a THOROUGH inspection and take pictures of any dings or scratches and send it to them by email within 24hrs. Apparently if there is anything they missed on their inspection that they find later, they will charge you for it. Then there is the issue of insurance. I have rented cars many times in the past and I have shown my proof of insurance and never had an issue. Globe refused to accept it and told me I had to pay for their CDW coverage. And of course they don't charge the basic insurance, they will charge for the FULL extended coverage unless you ask. They told me that if I could provide proof in my insurance contract that I was covered for rental vehicles they would refund the insurance cost. I had to sent it via email within 24hs. I had search through my files to find it, but I still wasn't sure and I could not contact them in time to verify being that they were closed on Sunday so I payed it. I called my insurance company the next day when they were open and they informed me that I had the comprehensive coverage on my insurance with does indeed cover me for ALL rental vehicles. The CDW coverage the Globe charges is a complete scam. Finally, they are required to take a security deposit of 300$ for the rental, which is standard procedure, but the rental agent screwed up and placed a CHARGE on my card instead of a HOLD and could not refund it after because he was not "authorized to". "Only administration can refund those charges and they are only here tomorrow". I made sure to call back to ensure I got that charge refunded because I did not trust them after the experience i had, and neither should you. To be fair to Globe, the car was very clean and did drive well, but I will still not be renting with Globe again in the future. I would advise to go with a reputable rental company like Enterprise or Avis. You will have much better peace of mind.

They consumed a lot of time initially as technical error. They are unprofessional at their peak. I rented the truck for one day and as they charged me $1,000 plus taxes for repair. When i mailed them to provide me the details and invoice of the repair. I never heard back from them.

This company is pure scammers, stay away. They claimed I damaged the rental, of which they show me proof of damage after the vehicle is cleaned t ready for re-rent 10 hours after I returned. If there was damages they are required to take picks of vehicle as it was left upon return in same spot as I returned not driving it somewhere to get cleaned. Insurance costed the amount of the rental but they still have 500 deductible for cars and 1000 for trucks. They ask you to take pictures of the vehicle b4 leaving, no agents reviews the vehicle with you, but there is no instruction to take pics upon return and no agents came out with me to review vehicle. On top they try to charge me 1000$ for a chipped windshield, with out authorization. Stay away. Update: They refunded me for their mistake.

Don't go there. Received my truck (and before I could talk to someone) about an hour late when there was only two persons in front of me. That's not covid fault but only poor services. One person was taking new reservation on the phone while leaving people with current reservations in the void of what's going on. Honestly I’ve rented here several times in the past without any major issue other than them overbooking their cars and not making any effort to find a solution other than make you wait. However my last experience was just horrible. They charged me an extra day after one of their employees told me I could bring back the vehicle at a certain time. When I tried to contact them to correct the issue they provided absolutely no in depth verification after claiming so and making me wait several days. When they did finally get back to me it was with outright lies. After finally going to the branch I was outright disrespected as they were trying to play on words after the recording clearly supported my claim. I spent an hour of my time to try and fix an issue that they had no interest in trying to fix themselves. I in no way have anything to say against the employee who served me but how management dealt with the situation is a joke. What I got at the end after they realized their mistake was a thank you for coming and hope to see you soon. Customer loyalty clearly means noting for them and they were anything but professional. I really recommend Hertz for those looking for a respectable car rental company. They have lost my business and that of anyone I know. UPDATE: After seeing my review they called to apologize and offered me to not charge me the surplus if I removed my review and then still charged my card a week later when I didn’t change the review. Congrats Globe ???? RESPONSE TO GLOBE: I made no such promise and It’s funny you mention the manager because I was explicitly told he was fired after this incident. Sorry Globe you can’t buy good reviews (a common practice at Globe according to several ex employees) you must earn them. Thanks for nothing.
