"Cheap Car Rentals" is their slogan and it couldn't be more true. We arrived to pick up a Toyota Sienna the morning of leaving for a major trip: 1. The pick up was for 9am, the agent arrived sometime around 9:20am. 2. The car was filthy. Gross filthy. Garbage and stains everywhere. I pointed this out to the agent and he blamed "the Brampton location". He suggested that I GET IT CLEANED and Yellow Car Rentals would reimburse me for the cost. Unfortunately I did not feel I had the option of walking away. 3. I did pay to get it cleaned (there was nothing to do about the stains) but once I got home and started moving the seats around to pack I still found chips, popcorn, crayons, FINGER NAILS, melted chocolate, and dirty Kleenexes. Again, I had booked a cottage in the U.S. and didn't feel that I could afford to just return the vehicle and start over so I cleaned it. I was not going to have my wife and senior parents (or my dog) ride 10 hours in filth. 4. On day three of our trip the "check engine" light came on. There wasn't a manual in the vehicle and we couldn't reach anyone at Yellow Car, and we certainly weren't going to pay to have the car fixed in the U.S. so we gave up and drove warily home. As an aside, the car did have 70,000 km on it. 5. Not surprisingly, upon returning the vehicle 5 days early, and listing all of the problems, the manager blew me off. 6. For some strange reason Yellow Car Rentals waited 10 days to post the (full) charge to our Visa. Perhaps they were waiting for us to forget about them. That is, unfortunately, not possible.

Found them when I was trying to book a 9 seater for our trip. All other rental companies had sold out or were expensive. Maxx rental was priced moderately and was available at that time. They gave us a new car which was clean and neat and the car had all features of Apple play. Had no problems with pick up and return. They are located inside best western hotel. Sometimes it can be a problem to find their location. This is the airport one. They have another branch in markham as well. They upgraded our car for the same price as they were sold out with the one we booked. Highly recommended.

Worst customer handling: Very cheap and cheat their customers. They overcharge me for $11 at time of Vehicle drop off. $11 not a big amount but when i questioned the reason behind they said the fuel was not full. I showed the images attached which clearly shows the images before (at time of pick up) and after (at time of drop off). It clearly indicates the fuel was way more at time of vehicle drop off as compared to when i picked the vehicle from their location. Still they charged me $11. Instead of understanding the fact they kept arguing to me claiming that they are right. I WISH I COULD RATE THEM BELOW ONE STAR

During this time of COVID I had made a reservation for a 10 passenger van. As it turned out I wasn't in need of the van. A week before I was to pick up the van I called to cancel the van. I was told I would get no refund as it is during COVID and they don't accept cancellations. I am now out $700. As a consumer with finances being tight during this time I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY IN ANY WAY. They were not willing to budge. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

RENTER’S BEWARE! This independantly run company cannot be trusted!!! We rented a van from this company and told them the days the vehicle was required. We found it odd that they took a credit card pre-authorization for $700 when our rental agreement was for $429.66. When asked why they were pre-authorizing $700, they told us it was in case we did not fill the gas tank up or went over in mileage. The morning of the date of return, they called stating that the van was due back at 9am and that it was late. We never agreed to return the vehicle at 9am as we required it until 3pm that day. The man on the phone literally yelled and screamed at me and told me that he was going to charge me for 2 extra days. I told him that I would not pay anything extra as I was returning the van at the agreed upon time. We returned the van at 3pm and the office was closed, as instructed we left the keys at the hotel desk. We have been trying to speak with the manager for weeks and he never calls us back. We were first told the manager’s name was Sam and now it is apparently Harry. Upon receiving our credit card bill they overcharged us more than 2 days of rental charges. Interestingly, they charged us almost $700... which was the amount they pre-authorized. We are now having to dispute this charge through our credit card as this company. Renters beware!

THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES. They have overcharged us, claiming that we were smoking in the car, when that was definitely not the case. Refused to let us speak to a supervisor and provided the worst customer service we've ever experienced. This is especially upsetting and troubling at a time when many people are struggling with their finances during the pandemic.

The guys I dealt with at Maxx Car rental were super friendly and easy to deal with. Fair price and very accommodating, unlike other car rental agencies that make you wait in massive lineups and treat you like a criminal by scrutinizing every inch of the vehicle and forcing you to sign insane contracts. I had an excellent experience with Maxx Car Rental in Toronto (the one close to the Pearson Airport, at 135 Carlingview Dr) . Communication was never an issue, always prompt and curteous. Few weeks prior to renting I was even accommodated in terms of being allowed to visit the rental agency and physically compare the features of two vehicles I was interested in renting (Ford Transit vs Mercedes Sprinter). Ended up renting the Transit 12 passenger. One thing with renting those vehicles here is that you actually get the exact vehicle model you've asked for (not something "similar"). Due to a change in arrival time of my friends I had to pick up the vehicle couple of hours earlier than planned, and that was not a problem. The vehicle was clean, and has served me and my friends without any issues. Also, even though your credit card may cover insurance for some rentals, please double check with them (your cc company) because there are limitations (in terms of vehicle's overall price, weight etc.), and it is likely that this type of a vehicle will not be covered (as it was in my case, because they generally cover only regular/ordinary cars), so you'll have to budget for the expense of insurance. I will definitely rent from this agency again.
