Worst customer service experience! Management doesn't do followup on complaints. Staff doesn't care and rude. Cars are dirty. Multiple other rental company close by do to business with that cares for their customers. Recommend going to Avis on Metcalfe, Budget on de la Gauchetiere West or Hertz on Drummond.
The person was very patient and nice, however sometimes there’s not enough personnel to take the time to take care of clients properly and things get rushed.

Personnel handled the transaction quickly upon picking up the car and leaving the car was easy. However, to find the car at 1:00 a.m. at the back of a dark unlit parking lot was a challenge both in having to take luggage along and in identifying the car I had rented. I would have appreciated the car being brought closer to the terminal and a lighted area.

Generally, I always rent cars from National. Service is amazing.. It's been like 15 years that I'm a client. Cars are always new, and never had any accidents of mechanical problems with them. Highly recommend them.
Booked a car for the US Thanksgiving weekend. Morning of pickup, they called to say they had no car. They offerred no help in finding another car. We could find no other car anywhere so had to cancel our trip.
Emerald club with National fixes this problem at some airports hope Hamilton has Emerald club by now. ************ older review ******Long lines at both car rental places.This was around 10pm . Took 45 min to 1hour .There is a great need to modernize the system. We booked a month plus in advance on line . Should need nothing more than a scanned bar code to drive a rental these days. Will change this to 5 stars when that happens .

Review for National on Stanley St. Got a rental from Montreal to NY. The car was clean and service was very good. I had an issue after pickup and they were very eager and prompt to fix it. It shows good customer service and I will be happy to go there again.
A huge thank you to Todd at National Car Rental at the Hamilton Airport for his exceptional service. He waited until our very delayed plane arrived - long after closing. I don't know what we would have done without him. He was very reassuring on the phone when I was in a panic, and the car we got exceeded our expectations. It was my second time using National and both experiences were wonderful. I will absolutely book with them again.

Hired a Hyundai Elantra for three days fron National Car Rental at th Campbell River airport. Budget couldn't do a 3 day. Liz was very helpful and the 3 day with full insurance was only $250. The Elantra only used 5.4 litres / 100km. Fantastic. Also the roads on Vancouver Island are great. Travelled from Nanaimo to Port Hardy, no problems.
Worst experience I've ever had at a National. Recommend you avoid this location if possible. Be extremely careful dropping a vehicle off after hours here - lesson learned to take lots of pictures to prove no damage was done to the vehicle in your possession.

Customer service was good the car was clean and no issues. However the wait to pick up the car was greater than 20 Minutes to get served and the walk to the car is long an poorly marked. The facility is dire need of an upgrade. Hamilton airport is a great alternate to Person but it needs to be improved.
Emerald aisle was the worst service i have ever had, the person over their gave me an extreme amount of attitude.

Basil and Jerome are amazing! I use to have problems coming here for a pick up in the past during COVID which is understandable during the circumstances. These two have made it an amazing seamless experience from greeting me at the counter to handing me the keys and even the checkout process. They are top notch people and go above and beyond at all times.

Few rentals it was really great. Last rental I came 20 minutes late, confirming by call that I will be late and I've waited my car for 2 hours. Now I pllaned a trip a month ahead and did booking accordingly. One day before the trip they called me saying that no car avaliable for me untill at least noon. P.S. nobody contacted me regarding this issue. I've mailed to the address that mentioned below and they "sent" this issue to the manager. That's all.

Straight forward check-in for an already reserved car, and the car was as expected. I drove long distances and didn't experience any issues with it. The return of the vehicle was even easier. Nice and professional location; I recommend it.

I rent cars on a regular basis and must have done all the big retailers downtown. So far, these guys are the very best! The service is courteous, fast, professional. The cars are always clean and kept in top condition.
Staff was friendly and quick. I was also provided with a free upgrade. The vehicle was almost brand new and in excellent condition.

Rented a car for a couple days with national ( enterprise subsidiary) at the Hamilton airport. Good experience. Only thing to note is an early pick up is not an option due to the fact that it opens significantly later than other car rental locations.
I'm quite disappointed with the hours or lack there of on Tuesday and Wednesday. I mean why are you closed when flights leave and arrive those days? I now have to take an uber to the city to rent a car on TUESDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS when I arrive. Thankfully the competition provides me with SUPREME service though my company has a contract with National
Since this was my first time renting a car, I was unsure of the process; but National Car Rental made it quick and easy. I was on my way to the rental lot within 5 minutes and dropping the car off was just as easy. I was expecting a high-mileage Kia Rio, but my car was a 2016, so that made it even more fun to rent from National. My advice is if you are flying into the Charlottetown airport, go National! I can't say enough about the staff! I had less than some trouble finding the lot, but that's a minimal issue.

Amazing experience! We landed in Charlottetown at midnight. We reserved two vehicles one a 7 passage SUV. That type of vehicle is not available at that location. We were very greatful when your staff recognized our need prior to arriving and put in extra effort to ensure we had a 7 passage van. Our experience in Charlottetown was friendly helpful flexible staff, clean reliable vehicles easy to access and very quick to process. We were extremely satisfied with our experience. The Charlottetown National Airport location is very well managed and run. The management and staff need to be recognized for their excellence. They are very valuable to you. Thanks
I reserve a car with national every time I fly back to Ontario. This time I booked my car rental through airmiles. Same great service. Great new Ford Explorer. Very clean, even with the nasty weather. I was also traveling with my son and they waived half of the fees for the booster seat rental.

Service not always the fastest at the front desk (docking 1 star), but very friendly and accommodating. Have rented several times and have been frequently upgraded and never dissapointed. Overall very happy with service.

Rented a car here in Sept 2018. To my own fault, I forgot my GPS in the glove compartment of the rental. The thing that bothers me the most is every time I called the location to tell them what I had lost, they never returned my calls. I even contacted the head office customer service for help and the email I got from them was they would contact this location to call me. Well, after 6 months, I still have not heard from this location. How hard is it to find a GPS in a car, take it to the office and wait for the customer to call. One dishonest employee...but what makes it bad for the location as a whole, is that no one ever returned my calls and I had no other way to ask for help. My first and only time I will rent from this location.
I had a very pleasant experience renting a car from National last weekend. Check in was easy. I pre-booked online. I got upgraded to a beautiful Infinity SUV at the counter. We had no issues with the vehicle. It was great. When we returned the car, I forgot to fill it up. Mind you, I did not drive much. Used less than a 1/4 tank. The nice guy at the counter said, that's okay, I won't charge you for the fuel. Have a safe flight. It was a very pleasant experience to say the least.
Good service and rate however would of been better to clerk came out to inspect car with me. After dropping off the car at different location I did get a phone call 4 days later asking where the car was but they found it

My most recent experience with National Car Rental was excellent. The easy of access to the exact vehicle I booked was great. However, as a frequent user for National's services it was their representative Tyler who made this a memorial experience by going the extra mile. Having left a package in the vehicle he secured it and made sure it was there for me when I returned a week later. Thanks National and a big thank you to Tyler!

I had to change my reservation by a few days due to a death in the family. I asked the National Car Reservations group for the same location, vehicle and number of days and I was charged extra. I explained my situation thinking for compassionate reasons there would be no extra cost. That was not the case. I also had to change my flight and due to compassionate reasons they did not charge anything extra. Now that is customer service! The vehicle I received was clean and I had no problems with it. The staff at the counter were courteous and pleasant to deal with.

National has always been my go to rental agency. Nice clean cars, easy check in and check out and good customer service. Recently though I traveled to Hamilton airport in Ontario, Canada and was disappointed by the poor service received. I was traveling on a private charter aircraft and I had booked a car for noon. I arrived at the National booth at noon on the dot only to find it unoccupied. Calling the number posted I was told it would be 20 minutes to get a car to me,. I was fine with that. It was actually an hour and when the driver arrived he was not an agent but simply a guy who moves the cars to and from different locations. After calling again, it was another 30 minutes for the agent to arrive. Now I realize we are dealing with a pandemic and all but that is precisely why I didn't want to spend any time in the terminal building myself. I live in a province with under 20 cases of active COVID so the last thing I wanted to do was sit in an airport in a province where 140+++ new cases are occurring daily. Why make me submit an arrival time if you weren't planning on meeting me? I'm quite sure if I was to drop the vehicle off anytime after my planned drop time I would be charged accordingly. Is your time more valuable than mine? Normally National is great but on this trip they dropped the ball.
Original car was given away but was given an upgrade. Was surprised to get overcharged after the return but after speaking with the manager, received proper billing 2 weeks later
Experience at the counter both at pick up and return was very pleasant. No surprises and no drama. Depending on the amount of luggage you have, the walk to the rental area can be a challenge.

The response to the request for a car rental was clear, direct, and efficient. The person who received my call was pleasant and acted without delay. I appreciated the responsiveness throughout the entire conversation.
Kids left a $500 camera in the vehicle upon its return. Received no phone call identifying that they found it. When I called someone at the rental location when I discovered it had been left, I was told there was nothing in the lost and found. My question is: why is there a lost and found? If someone cleaning a car finds something, they have the record of who last rented it and their phone number. This is at the very least just poor service or company complacency.
Staff were very attentive and helpful, customer service was obviously a priority. The review loses stars due to the shocking attitude towards safety. We rented two car seats, one infant and one toddler, which both were on the brink of being expired. When we first arrived, we had to send the infant seat back as it didn't have complete straps. We were given the only other infant seat they had, which strapped the baby in but didn't fully latch to the base. We had no other options for our trip and were left with a very uncomfortable choice in Regards to our child's safety. Completely unacceptable from a large company like National, especially given how costly the seats are to rent.
Had a terrible experience with National on the billing side. I received $170 of unexpected fees which were not stated when the car was picked up. Be aware of these fees before booking. Will not be using National again on my business trips!!!

Had a wonderful experience with National @ Hamilton Airport. Very fast and smooth service while picking up the keys. Booked a compact car, but received a free upgrade to a small SUV. The vehicle provided was clean and washed. Highly recommend renting from them if you are arriving at Hamilton airport.
The process to rent was very quick and pleasant. I rented a full size car and the options really were not full size in my opinion. The car was a Buick Encore and I could not put golf clubs in the back hatch. The car was a little dirty, floors needed a better vacuuming and the dash and coffee cup holders were dusty or dirty. My biggest issue was returning the car. I had to bring the car back at 5:30AM so the person at the counter said they were closed so drop off the keys in the drop box. They offered the purchase of a tank of gas but knowing my mileage would be low I said I would fill it up. What would have been nice is if they advised gas stations are not open before 6:00AM. I used half a tank and paid $0.50 more per litre than the going rate. I have liked National and know I had other options. I will rethink things down the road.

Upon arrival no small cars were available so we were upgraded to a premium car. This cost about double for gas. (: Other than that, service was excellent. When returning the car to the airport, rain was coming down hard. A representative with an umbrella helped me and my luggage get inside the terminal.
Conveniently located. Booking in was easy - not a long wait time. Car was great very economical. Return easy - drop off key box. When realized I had been charged for an additional driver, I called their office and they reversed the charge very quickly.
Employees here we nice however , none of them were able to catch the fact despite going there twice that our destination would be closed for an undeterminate amount of time . This location is a good 4-5 stars but national car rental is at best a 3 star due to the awful customer service who after learning our destination was closed , suggested we drop the car more than 2 hours away at another one of their destination.
