Update: The cell phone staff were kind & understanding. They helped me out of a jam when my android phone failed, and I wanted to switch to a different brand of phone, so +1 for that. They also had less mark up if you wanted to buy a phone to use with an existing data plan. Cactus has supplied us with multiple systems / services. Unfortunately, when it comes to getting quotes, scheduling installs, or troubleshooting visits we've found Cactus to be slow / forgetful. It could be due to a bottleneck in their staffing or general disorganization. The staff is friendly.

Today was my first time at Cactus and I was really impressed! The lady that helped me was very knowledgeable and friendly and I was happy with the price of my new phone. She was also extremely patient with an elderly woman in front of me who thought her current iphone didn’t have GPS. The customer wanted to buy a new phone but the employee took the time to explain to her that there was no need for a new phone, showed her where to find her maps app, how to use it and saved the address for her. The customer apologized and the employee told her that it was no problem and she was welcome to come in anytime that she had questions. Thank you for helping me but more importantly thank you for being so honest and kind with the elderly lady, we need more of that in the world!

As someone who has been in the construction industry for many years, and a home inspector that has an idea of what they're talking about, I have to say, I am DISGUSTED by the LACK of KNOWLEDGEABLY and PROFESSIONALISM the employees of this company demonstrate. When my daughter ordered Xplorenet for her house, her and I made sure to be there when the installer came. She told him, very clearly, that she wanted the satellite dish to be attached to the fascia. She was very specific that she did not want him to drill HOLES through her shingles into her roof. She had known that puncturing holes into the barrier that protects your house from the elements would result in a leak in her roof, as she had been working on roofs with me for almost a decade now. This installer then proceed to start to set up to put the satellite on the roof, until I walked over and talked to him. Grumbling he set up and attached the dish to the fascia. When it came to the cable he had been asked to go under the trailer and feed it through the existing hole in the floor (from previous cables). For his convenience he was even told he could tie into any of the existing (dead) cables there that were already fed up through the floor. After being instructed with this by my daughter he came to me to sign a form. The form was a waiver so he could drill a hole into the wall to put the cable through. I refused to sign and reminded him she had wanted him to put it up through the floor. He then went to my daughter and while talking to her called me an idiot for refusing to sign, then asked her to sign, stating he couldn't complete the installation without the signature. She too refused, reminding him that she wanted it up through the floor. He then proceeded to go inside to find one of my daughters friends that didn't even live there to sign his form, complaining to her that we were idiots, that he had been doing this for 8 years and we had no idea what we were talking about. She signed, and he drilled the hole in the wall. Needless to say my daughter went to his manager after this amateur left. All his manager had to say was "Too bad he put a hole in your wall, I have this signed form." Let this be a warning to anyone wanting Xplorenet or Telus satellite services. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEIR INSTALLATION SERVICES. THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR HOME.
