I don't recommend. I got a call saying that I got a speeding ticket and that I will be charged 63 dollars on top of the speeding ticket for "admin fee" I told them that I will pay it myself which they initially agreed to but then 2 hours later while I was waiting for their email I got charged on my credit card. I phoned back and the guy who answered the call said that the charge is non refundable. He said that he would have the person who said I could pay it myself call me back but two days later I don't have a call and they stopped answering my phone calls. I was as respectful as possible in my conversations. I find the staff their not very responsive and deceitful. Never going back there again.

Staff was very friendly. I got a screw in my tire. With the Insurance I purchased through them I was able to drop off the car and get a new one without waiting.

I was given a Ford Fiesta with completely bald tires in the middle of winter. I told the desk clerk when I returned my car and they didn't seem to care. Next time I will stick to the major brands.

Great prices! The car size we chose was not available so they upgraded us with no extra cost to a nice car. The only glitch for us would be that they are a bit short staffed and we had to wait for a bit to check out. Shuttle service was efficient!

I've rented from U-Drive on a few occasions now and have always had excellent service and unless you are renting at the last minute will always have a good selection of clean new model vehicles. On my most recent visit (Sargent location, agent name I believe was Gretchen) I was having issues with my payment methods but working her magic on the computer I was still able to leave with my much needed ride.

Last week a friend of mine and I had the opportunity of renting cars from U-Drive Winnipeg at the Sargent location. It was a fantastic experience for both of us. The cars were amazing--such a treat to get a luxurious vehicle for such a great price. And even better than that was the service. This location is a worst location in Winnipeg, employees are not sure on what they are doing and can not provide proper explanation for rental... got overcharged $250 cause of not correct explanation of rental... Udrive is good but not at this location!
UDrive Sargent has always been my favorite branch, it's welcoming and has friendly staff members, Karly was amazing and efficient. Ed Artola the GM is a really awesome, had a great conversation with him.
Understaffed. Took an hour to get my car. And then, the t&c were different than what I had booked on Expedia so I pretty much had to take the car as now i was far away from the airport with no transit options. Irritating. Staff were great otherwise. No issues with car itself, shuttle to airport was fine, no delays. I agree with other reviews, lots of hidden costs and the final invoice is unclear as to how the charges were calculated daily. Was grateful the staff removed the big rental car lettering off the window. Safety concerns.
The guy working at the reception on Sat dec 14th around 730 pm had to be the most unwelcoming and rude customer service representative ever. Put a smile on your face for God's sake and show some respect when a customer is talking to you!
The problem I faced was, I came to the sargent avenue to pick up a car, the manager in hold Mr.Dee was really kind and helpful but however there was only one small car available, so He helped us get a another car. We went to the pembina location to exchange the car but the lady there she ended up giving us an unhygienic, unclean car amid this Covid situation. That was really upsetting and uncomfortable for me and my friend. It was both dirty from inside out . :( The only reason this 5 star is here is because of Mr.Dee kind and helping attitude ????

Wasn’t a good Experience, Lies on top of Lies and no communication between reps. Unfulfilled promises and just downright lacking in customer services at the Airport Location to be specific.
Provided me with a courtesy vehicle while my car was at the shop for repairs next door. Friendly service but vehicle selection is sometimes limited as they are a busy center. I was supposed to get a compact vehicle but none were available so they ended up giving me a 2018 Ram Hemi truck. I loved the truck but didn’t need one. I traded it a few days later when they had a compact car...no hassle. I’d rent from them again.

Very friendly staff. Only issue is vehicle smelled like smoke but wasn’t severe.
Overall I was happy with our experience. It would be nice if they had a better explanation when booking online that this is an off site location and that there isn't an obvious shuttle option and you have to call them to find out that you need to take a cab over to their rental place (they pay the cab driver). Also the car inside did smell like someone smoked in it and also wasn't super clean inside. Other then that they did pretty good with getting us in and out of there (not the fasted but certainly not the slowest either). I'd probably book with them again if the price was a lot better but if only a couple dollars different I'd probably consider an on airport location.

Was given a “non smoking” vehicle that wreaked like old cigarette smoke. Called to report the concern and was told ‘sorry’. When I dropped the vehicle off, I reiterated the issue and was told ‘oh, why didn’t they do something for you?’ Total lack of professionalism, would not give them my business again.
As usual, I’ve had an awesome experience with U-drive. Gretchen at the Sargent location in Winnipeg was extremely professional and well mannered; she answered all of my questions professionally and was so patient. I gave 4/5 because the rates went a little bit up (due to COVID as per Gretchen) and because the car I got this time was entry-level trim and lacked so many features like driving mode and heated steering. Overall the professionalism makes up for that.
U drive provides a pick and drop service. I was told a day before and messaged these guys to pick me at 9:30 am. The day after i was told they can not pick me before 11 and my rental was at 10am. So, i booked a taxi to reach there. Wasted money. When i returned it, they helped customers dropping them to their location who came after me. Not a good customer service.

The Sargent unit has a excellent service and convenient Sunday hours. I cannot say the same for the other udrive branches though.

2years ago Fast & Great customer service. Clean & new vehicle. Lowest price car rental in PEG city But not anymore.. As of yesterday's experience... I, a customer for 4 years, placed a reservation days prior. I received a confirmation email yesterday morning but when I arrived in the center, they said there was NO suv available. So why confirm a booking if they cannot commit to it, right? It's a simple booking and yet they screwed it up. There is still a pandemic so I'm expecting they clean their rentals ahead the confirmation. But surprisingly not. The worse thing is the front desk lady was rude while the manager cannot make a decision or present a solution on how to handle the situation. They kept saying they will call me or email me however I didn't recieved any response for the whole day. I told them I was at their mercy in sacrifice of family quality time. When they finally called today saying there's an available car ready, there wasn't any apology for the lateness. My wife already said were already in our cabin so we can't pick it up. The rudeness of the front lady as she slam the telephone. Wow!! That was the final straw. What a worse customer service ever. Customer Service: no star for me

I come into Winnipeg almost every other week for work. For the past 4 months I have booked with the friendliest of team just outside the Winnipeg airport. Always Travelling on a weekly basis I am always greeted by not always the friendliest of staff. Here at Drive I have been dealing with their front end team mainly Amun Maylo. He is always happy and friendly, he has taken the time to know me a client. Myself as a consultant knows the importance of Customer Service. Pro: few dollars cheaper than most Car rental out there. Complimentary pick-up and drop-off. Con: aging fleet. Not detail oriented. (read more about my particular experience) Verdict: In the future, I will pay a few dollars more per day and rent from Enterprise. The white AWD, SUV I was renting: #1. In the mid of frigid winter, tap water is used as Windshield Washer Fluid. It’s creating thin film of ice on the driver side windshield. #2. And thanks to bad wiper blades (all 3!) – trying to wipe your front windshield only clear the top half but leave thin film of ice on the bottom half. Forget about the passenger side and back window wiper blades that are totally useless. #3. The Gas door is totally frozen shut. (Who has time to check if the Gas door can open when renting a vehicle?) I could not open the Gas door as it is electronically controlled. If I use force such as flat head screwdriver, I will literally destroy their property and I will have to pay for the damage. Lucky that I do not have to drive more than a full gas tank. Return vehicle with more than half a tank but got charged market price for half tank of gas.

The biggest problem was we only read the web page which said it was pick up and drop off at the airport. Once at the airport with my 91 year old mother there was no pick up...it involved more walking and a taxi ride to the car rental. I was not happy cuz it was extra moving in and out of vehicles for my mother. The workers apologized and said the web page was not updated and it is always a 3 minute plus taxi ride....now the car i was supposed to rent was ready and waiting but the keys were no where to be found. I ended up with a dodge dart that had to have a screwdriver brought to me to close the driver side door. I tried driving it but brought it back cuz the driver wiper did not work and it was very messy and slushy on the roads. The very nice workers gave me a different vehicle which was fine. However the keys to the car i wanted was never found. People were nice but way too much hassle to ever use these guys again.

mostly the service was great, it was just that my flight time got changed a few days prior to my arrival and when I called to change my booking I was told to leave it as it was and that there would be a car available for me, then when we arrived we were told that that wasn’t the case and there were no cars available so we had to take a big truck. Staff were friendly and courteous and all and all a good experience.
Renaee went over and above to make our experience positive. She gave us an even better rate than we found on Expedia.ca. she explained everything thoroughly, double checked everything and ensured our vehicle was carefully detailed and cleaned before releasing it to us. She ensured that we had her card in case we needed anything, anything at all during the duration of our rental. She was kind, informative, genuine, professional and very pleasant. I would highly recommend her and this rental location.
Counter staff and shuttle driver were extremely rude. Staff tried to force me to accept a more expensive rental package and became belligerent when I pushed back. I didn’t get overcharged when I returned the vehicle a day early and the manager was a really nice guy which are the only reasons this location isn’t getting a 1 star review.
First time using Udrive. Ill Definitely come again. Staff is POLITE and friendly. (Jordan ). The manager did a good job. (Hired the right person for the job. ) I rented a Dodge caravan on 30th July.
All is good but just learned that we had to return vehicle or be charged $600 instead of being able to return it at a U -drive at destination. We wonder if this is true with all car rental venues.

Im so disapointed! I rent 2 truck and i got sone trouble with each! Dodge with worn tire! We made 3flat tire and pay 100$ reparation Gmc with anormal vibration in the transfer case for the 4x4! All the truck is shaking We scared to broke the truck I rent some pick up to got a nice hunting trip and i receive some garbage truck!! I call to change the gmc and the person want to sold me an insurrance! I had a terrible experience with Winnipeg UDrive. They were disorganized when I went to pick up my vehicle, called the day after I picked up the car to ask why I had returned the vehicle early, and when I responded to say that I had not returned it, they argued that I had, even though I was driving the car the moment. I had also called because the car smelled like gasoline and the oil light was on. While I was speaking with U drive, the battery died on the vehicle and I was told I would be responsible for the cost of the repair and the tow. The vehicle has 45,000 kms on it and I had driven it 16 kms, but was still told the repair costs would be my responsibility because I was driving it at the time. I still have not sorted this out with Winnipeg UDrive and costs I will be responsible for, however I will NEVER rent from them again or recommend them. Extremely dissatisfied and unimpressed with the customer service provided.

told us that tank was not full upon return even though the gage clearly says full. We went back to the gas station to add .25 cents to the point that gas was overflowing. So make sure that when you are filling up the tank, that it is overflowing. otherwise they will make you go back or charge you extra $20.

We were shuttled to the u-Drive rental for free . We were given a car that was very gas efficient . When we got there the car that we were given was soooo dirty on the inside . The manager came to do the walk around before we got in it and was concerned the glass on the outside was spotted from water . I guess he didn’t see any need to check the inside . When we returned the car the lady came out to check it and when I told her the car was so dirty , she said due to covid they were unable to clean the cars when they return from the city of Winnipeg . During the pandemic they would have had lots of time for cleaning . Poor excuse ! Then we had to take a cab and pay for it ourselves back to the airport . Make sure when you are booking a car from Expedia even though you type in pick up at airport and drop off it does really mean that . It’s not that it was cheap, it was 458.00 for a week .

Great friendly service. Drive back to airport was quick and they were very accommodating. It isn’t clear when you rent that this venue is not actually at the airport. So you need to take a cab. This could be a problem if you are dropping off when they are closed as you’d have to arrange your own transportation to the airport. But I would definitely rent from them again

went to go get my tire changed yesterday at the Sargent location, silly me i forgot Donvito was already closed so i went to UDrive to see if they can change it for me. Long story short, the washbay dude changed it for me but that was after whoever the dude was working up front almost refused to let someone there change the tire. Yes i understand i used to work there and you can't bring personal vehicles into the washnay but im still A CUSTOMER. Random customers have gone there before and we've pulled their cars into the washbay and changed it. NEVER AGAIN WILL I DEAL WITH THE DONVITO CORPORATION NOR DO I RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.

Receptionist at Sargent avenue location was totally incompetent , poor knowledge in customer service, lacked of HOSPITALITY. too bad experience with this location. i rented a vehicle on june 11th and returned it back on june 21th. i haven't got my pre auth money back that is $608. i called them many times and haven't got satisfactory answer. the money was taken from my credit card and that impact my credit card as well. it passed 1th july i need to pay the credit card bill. i suggested everyone not to rent a car from u drive. there is alot of car rental you can rent a car. i gave them a minus rating if there is a option.

I loved the first interaction and was able to get a good deal on the rental. However I was overcharged as one of the employees forgot to write a note on when the car was returned. I understand that mistakes could happen, but when I called for a refund for the amount that was charged over what was supposed to be charged, they said that cannot authorize a refund but only offered me a credit. I use rental once every year or two year. What good is a credit to me? Started as a positive experience but ended on a bad note

Rented a car from here to attend my grandmother's funeral, brought it back in the exact condition I had taken it in. A month later I was charge over 600 dollars for supposed windshield damage. With no proof. Their employee took the car out to bring me to the airport after I returned it yet I am the one charged. I had requested proof and was ignored. Would never recommend this rental company. Fair warning to all new renters, when returning dont make the mistake of trusting a company. Take photos.
Car was dirty when it was given to us. Also arrived to a vehicle that was not what we had reserved over a month ahead of time. No apologies from the customer service woman at the desk. Her attitude was take it or leave it.

I didn't realize that the car return was not at the airport but just outside on Sergeant. I had left it late and only had about 50 minutes to check in for my flight. Called u drive Sergeant. He asked me to hold but I told him I had an emergency. He then face me immediate attention. Gave me direction s to the upriver location. When I arrived he took care of me first and arranged a ride back to the airport where I managed to catch my flight. Saved my bacon. Beside this. Very good value.
You get a taxi from the airport not a shuttle. Only one person at the counter so a bit slow to get your car but polite and nice
I have rented from U Drive on numerous occasions. They provide transportation via taxi when you leave the airport and when you drop you vehicle off the provide transport back to the airport. It’s great affordable service and their agents at the desk are always courteous and friendly. I’ll use them again and again.
Terrible company. Rip off customer. Pick-up at 10:30 . Returned at 1am . They charged me extra day with all fee but on expedia.ca showed late fee is 9$/hour . Should have told customer when they pick up the vehicle.

They're quick to take the money/deposit off your credit card and charge you, but when it comes to returning the deposit... THEY DON'T! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL! Rude customer service also!
I have a very good experience with this company especially the branch in Sargent ave. Great customer service! And their rates are very affordable compared to other big car rental companies.
Avoid this place like the plague, especially if you are not a native English speaker. My dad, whose English is quite limited, had to take his car to Don Vito for repair. He was supposed to be given a courtesy vehicle, however, instead he was sent next door for a rental vehicle. At Udrive Car Rental he was forced to purchase their additional insurance (8.99 per day) - even though he has car insurance. When I asked about it, I was told that it was because he did not provide a credit card, that if Don Vito was vouching for him, he had to pay the additional fee. 1- I would have provided a credit card for him 2- we have a vehicle he could have used 3-he didn't need to rent a vehicle--he only accepted it because it was supposed to be a courtesy vehicle. After all is said and done, they charged him an additional 71.00 and misled him about the "courtesy vehicle" I explained this all to the manager who told me he could not do anything about it and that my dad's car insurance would not cover a rental--we all know this is false. Don't get sucked in! BTW I gave it one star because otherwise I can't post. I really give this business a minus 2
I rented a car online and when I got to U-Drive in Winnipeg (Sargent location), there were no clean cars available at the moment so I was automatically upgraded to a SUV at no extra charge. Vehicle was clean, friendly staff and the whole process took no time. Thank you U-Drive for a wonderful experience, when I am back in Winnipeg I will be happy to go through you guys again.

Rented from Portage la Prairie location, customer service was excellent. My requested vehicle type was unavailable, but they made sure I didn’t leave unsatisfied. We’re very accommodating for my restrictive work schedule and returning to different locations. By far, the easiest experience renting vehicles. Highly recommend.
All was good with car until return; needing to get to airport. Attendant told me to wait for driver but did not say how long that would be. Having waited more than 30 minutes I was very concerned about getting to the airport on time and their driver still being 10 minutes away. The attendant then told me to call a cab at my expense when the company advertises pick-up and return to airport. VERY ANGRY!

On August 3rd 2018 I arrived at Winnipeg International Airport from Vancouver BC. I arrived at the U Drive location at Winnipeg International Airport at 2:30 p.m. when I arrived we waited over a half an hour to get the car. When we had made a reservations online it had stated that we were going to be getting a Kia Sorento instead we were given a Dodge Journey. After driving about 20 km the low tire sensor came on display. I went to a gas station and filled the tire up to 240k. Whoever rotated the tires on the car prior to me receiving this vehicle had two tires on the left hand side of the car at 350 k and a side of the car were 240 k. On August 5th low tire sensor came on display again for the second time and I filled it up with air up to 240 k. Then at 11 p.m. the sensor alarm went for a 3rd time at 120 k, 75k, then I pulled into a gas station and it was 0 k. The tire was completely flat. So I had changed the tire and put the spare on the front right tire. And we had continued on to our hotel room. The next day which is August 6th we returned the vehicle at approximately 12:30 p.m. while I was outside with the vehicle my wife was inside with the luggage and overheard two of the representatives discussing whether they were going to charge us for the tire or not. I met with a sales representatives outside by the vehicle and discussed the the pressure sensors and the differences on that were on the right hand side of the vehicle to the left hand side of the vehicle. One representative started telling me I didn't know what I was talking about and that he was a maintenance vehicle maintenance supervisor and that I was wrong. Around the vehicle with his pressure tester only to find out I was right. The spare tire was on the front right tire the service maintenance supervisor then started to reprimand me because I shouldn't have a spare tire on the front of the car and that the police would have should have stopped me. I just wanted to leave. I was charged $30 for an airport concession fee when this car rental place isn't that the airport I was also charged in airport facility charge of the $9 again the car rental at the airport airport and so I asked for and he had no idea. Overall a poor experience.
Although it was a bit of a wait when picking up the car the staff were very nice and helpful and made returning car and return to airport a breeze..I qould definetly rent from them again..But I would reserve with them directly and definitely not use expedia ever again for anything.
Pick a real accredited mpi shop. This place charges you for a rental even if you have loss of use coverage. I spoke with mpi and they said this is not their practice, and they do not require you to pay insurance on a rental with coverage. I paid over $300 to udrive for the rental, thats on top of my deductible. Any other place would be no charge.
