I did my reservation 2 month before my trip to Vancouver. After that, when I was looking for the location at the maps, I came across all of these negative reviews left here. And, of course, I became a bit nervous. But for me, everything went smooth, with no problem at all. The model was upgraded, the service person was nice and explained everything in details. Good experience. Thanks.

I am out close to $500 on a 2 day rental. Beware this location! They also go by Thrifty as it seems to be a split company type rental. I rented a car for 2 days to make it possible to get around while I worked on purchasing a cheap used vehicle. Despite keeping the car clean and never smoking in the vehicle, was accused of returning it with a strong smell of marijuana. They claimed a customer complained and refused to rent the vehicle, then changed their story after I pointed out that if they had tried to rent it out than they had closed our contract without issue. No one, not me, not my boyfriend, nor his father, smelled anything in the vehicle at the time of return. I was informed after returning the keys that they wouldn't be inspecting the car until a few hours later in the evening. Had I know they would take advantage of me in this way, I would have insisted on an inspection while I was present. Not only did they not return my $200 deposit, but they retroactively changed the initial charge on my credit card, increasing the charge by $100 and overdrawing my account and incurring bank penalties. When I contacted the corporate office, they "investigated" by asking the manager what happened. 2 days with a KIA SOUL cost me $500. EDITED TO ADD: Emily, I contacted Hertz through Facebook Weeks ago before you responded here. You "Investigated" by contacting this same manager who now additionally claimed there was also ash in the car. (This car seems to be regenerating a joint. Every time someone speaks to him, there is somehow more of it in there.)

This was one of the worst services I received from Hertz. They cancelled my reservation and left my family with two children and elders stranded at the airport in the middle of pandemic. I called Hertz to leave a feedback about my experience and they could care less.

We made a reservation for 10:00am and haven’t got any service yet and it’s 11:00am. Not impressed no one is at the booth. Someone from national had to help us track down the worker. Terrible service go with national.

My friend and i’s first trip to BC started off great here! The service was great and super friendly! Pardeep was very polite and accommodating and it didn’t take long to get our vehicle. I never leave reviews but I felt compelled this time, definitely recommend!

Person in the front desk was friendly and helpful, he was able to get a new Toyoto Rave 4. Car was in good condition and all worked out well during our 2 week rental.

Scheduled the rental a month in advance and when we arrived they started telling everyone that they did not have any cars to rent out. Didn’t try to help us find alternatives, did not try to offer any reimbursement for the inconvenience, and claim they tried to contact us but didn’t have our information on file since we booked through a third party. Blows my mind that third parties can book but they don’t have something set up with them for urgent communications like this. Luckily we managed to find 1 place that had a rental but had to take a $60 Uber ride there and pay 3 times more. Bottom line: don’t rent from here. Rent from Avis or Enterprise. Hertz has the lowest rating between the 3 for a reason.

Made a Hertz reservation. Arrived and was given a thrifty vehicle. With an insurance card that had expired a week earlier. (January 31st, 2020). Called and, after many holds and transfers spoke to the location and was told that the they could not send me proof that the car was insured as the car was insured out of Calgary and they did not have a card. The extremely unhelpful lady at Hertz / Thrifty also didn’t seem to understand why the police would need proof of insurance as, she promised that the car was insured. Police impounded the vehicle which led to us sitting on the side of the highway with luggage waiting for a taxi. I would not rent from a franchisee that can not be bothered to update insurance cards in their vehicles - but certainly not from one that cannot fix or even understand the problem, even after the police explain it.

PLEASE BEWARE. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. My family returned our rental before boarding the plane, the lady at the return desk said everything was good & than calls 3 hours later to say they will be charging $224 for smoking. Non of our family members smoke. We are trying to dispute this matter right now. I have contacted customer relations and will do all I can to dispute this. The Manager at this location is extremely RUDE, hung up a couple times and than does not answer the phone after.

Best car rental experience at Hertz car rental Abbotsford airport. It was our first time visiting Abbotsford BC. Harmeet was very friendly and explained all the process of car rental in detail. He was extremely helpful and gave the car according to our needs. Highly recommend him and Hertz care rental for all your rental car needs.

Literally scammed me. Gave me a car with the motor warning light on first. I drove all around to change the car. Charged me $ 250 extra afterwards with no explanation. Unbelievable
