Very disappointed. We made a reservation months in advance and showed up today to pick up the truck and supplies. I suppose they at least had the truck ready for us. However, the furniture pads we had ordered were not available at all. They had record of the reservation we'd made but had no furniture pads to give us. The staff offered no explanation as to why our reservation wasn't honored and they couldn't come up with any solution to the problem either. In the days of modern technology I'm not sure how something like this gets screwed up. We'll be using budget or another moving company next time.

The worst customer service I've experienced anywhere in Newfoundland. It's like the guy behind the counter enjoys being rude without provocation. Everyone else I encountered at this location seemed to be very annoyed they had to do a job.

Horrible staff and attitude!!! I had to remove the utility dolly (hand truck) because it's taking the space I really need for my last piece of furniture. Borrowed the uhaul for five days and didn't use the hand truck for one minute. When I returned the truck, I explained why I had to remove the dolly as the first thing. They still charged me $44 for that dolly and won't even listen to me or give me any explanation on this cost. I asked if it can be waived please, they said they will charge it no matter I used it or not. What the hell is their attitude problem? I don't care that much about the $44 but the experience is what I will never forget. I will never go to them again ever.

Not quite what I expected from such a large organization. It's quite obvious the management has contributed to the poor customer service here. In this place, your just a number, and they make you feel inferior to them. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, period!

Well I have yet to use any of the UHaul services but was checking it out for my son who is planning his first big move. By looking at the reviews I’m 100% sure that I’ll take my business elsewhere .

The truck door won't close. It was stuck open behind the black foam/rubber stopper. If you use their truck make sure you are careful with the latch. The design for the latch and the stopper is really bad and this can happen to anyone (see pic). When I called roadside assistance, they said it will cost me money if it is not a "Mechanical Failure". I don't know what exactly falls under that category. I ended up spending 4 hours trying the door to close. I went to the U-Haul at Kenmount road. They said that I can empty the truck and bring back the truck for a different one. I had already loaded up my truck and to unload and load again would have taken me hours of hard-work, so that was not really an option. ***Check the door and the latch system if you use their trucks.*** ***I have used their trucks before and had good experiences.*** Eventually, a friend was able to close the door after a lot of work.

I have never experienced customer service or have been spoken to as badly as I have the past 2 days dealing with Chris. Chris was by far the rudest employee/person I seen. I wouldn’t speak to a dog the way he spoke to me. I literally created a account just because of the situation to write a review. When I asked Chris for a number for head office he told me that he can’t give that number out. A business doesn’t have the phone number to its own head office?

Made a reservation online for this location. I received a phone call the next day from their regional scheduling office saying that they had the vehicle available for the time frame I wanted it. Now I have an email stating the vehicle is not available for the time I want it. Their customer service through their national phone line, online chat, etc is horrible and I will strongly consider never using Uhaul again.

A few workers here were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately that is the only positive thing I can say. After being quoted and double checked 3 times, by 3 different people, I arrived to sign my rental (a truck and storage) and was told the price was $50/month more than I was quoted and re-quoted. Emails sent to me at first did not arrive. When finally they arrived they bore no information on the reservation, just a URL to log in. A worker confirmed that reservations checked online rarely have the correct information (mine showed $200 more than it was in reality). U-Haul thusly would not provide me with any written evidence of the original reservation and as a result denied my claims of the original quote. I attempted to contact the manager of this particular location, and have not heard back in the 3 months since then. I will never use U-Haul again in my life, and suggest everyone completely avoid them in all circumstances.

Had a unit booked a month in advance and when i got there they told me it wasn't available..so what's the point of booking it?.. got that straightened up and got a unit, then a month later theyy email me saying the rate is going up bc they are putting in new light fixtures. Biggest bunch of morons i came across yet i think.

Everyone needs to know , uhaul at the kenmount road location st John's is in serious breach of the privacy act . They are not allowed to snap pictures of your identity with their personal cell phones . I told the manager about this and he got upset and kicked me out of the store , because I told him his cashier snapped a picture of my drivers license with his personal phone . This is illegal . They are not allowed to use personal phones to snap photos of your drivers license . Or any of your identity cards. This can be sold and you can run into debt .

I rented a small truck to move furniture and household belongings. I returned the truck, everything seemed fine. 2 weeks later I noticed a $75 charge on my credit card from uhaul. They informed me that there was dirt and rust chips left in the truck. I asked if there were pictures of the mess taken and was informed there wasnt. Called head office and they were no better to deal with.

Very disappointing experience. I tried to resolve a disputed charge with associate Leonard Mackey and he was extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. Not to mention terrible grammar. I had to work with the national call center to resolve my issue since Leonard would not even make an effort to provide customer service. I wish 0 stars was an option

Extremely rude staff. They don't give you information about hidden charges and behave as if they are doing you a great favour in speaking with you. Enterprise truck rental is much better than this travesty. If they were a locally-owned business, with this terrible customer service and poor value for money, they would never survive.
