I have rented trucks from Penske in Edmonton for many years. Always super professional, and the trucks are in perfect condition. Pricing and paperwork is straight forward, and easy. I deal with Nour who is awesome--reservations for my business needs are a simple email to him, and everything is as I expect when I arrive. Trucks with power end gates, and fuel efficient diesels make the overall cost of rental much cheaper than anyone else.

Business Service - excellent. Customer service - very good! Truck accommodation and inside creature comforts - proper. Truck tires... barely passable for winter driving. Either get your own, or be prepared to slide ice capades style.

Awesome staff, very helpful. However the truck I rented had a few issues. Radio wouldn’t work so I had to listen to myself sing, cruise control wouldn’t work. And it had a shimmy that would embarrass any professional belly dancer. I would definitely rent here again. I would make sure everything works before I leave the lot.

Prices are great we rented a truck for 4 days and and the cost for 4 days was cheaper then what uhaul wanted for 2 days for a 10 foot shorter truck.

Penske has always been good to me. The ice company I work at rents trucks from time to time and they are fantastic about helping me get the right truck for our needs. The deep divots you find in freezer floors chews up the wheels on my electric jack so I really appreciate the fact they try to get me a truck with what I call a refrigeration floor. Much nicer to move pallets on. The staff, Isabell, Ola and Nora are always friendly and accommodate my desire to do most things through email. It is rare for a big brand to be so flexible in my experience. When you run a business you really do come to appreciate the people around you at other businesses that make you possible. One of those companies is Penske.

Since the booking date I was in touch with Nour and Ola at least 3 times to ask specific questions pertain to the long distance move I was planning. They both so patient with me and happy to help. This is not a rental review and one star is still too much. Before I get into the negatives about this company, I'll mention one positive thing. OLA, ( I believe that's his name and forgive me if I'm wrong) the rental service agent, was extremely polite, informative and very professional. It ends there.. Approximately 3 months ago, I bought a 'premium' truck from penske for 48k and change. This was the pick up location. I took possession of the truck about a month later.. 1 week late as per their promised date of delivery, and it's been downhill ever since. They refused to let me get it checked out by my mechanic prior to signing their bill of sale and since I figured they were a reputable company i didn't think twice about it. 2 hours in on the first day of driving this truck, transmission light went on.. Took it back. Trevor's (the service manager) explanation was "too much transmission fluid"..seriously. (BTW.. If this guy's lips are moving, he's lying. Lied to me about three times at which point I confronted him about it and he just brushed it off. I refused to deal with him moving forward) I got the truck back after a week and took it straight to my shop at edmonton fleet maintenence. What penske did was simply clear all the codes and give it back. They slapped tape on the inside and some silicone on the roof to stop the leak. They could have at least taped all the holes.. There was also an ABS code that had been cleared. This is FRAUD and after I threatened further action, they took it back and said they'd "make it right" as per Ben Hines; aftersales coordinator in Pennsylvania .I didn't believe he existed as he was unreachable for a whole week until a third party called their office and informed them of the legal action route I was about to embark on. He phoned me a half hour later. Truck went back once again. About 5 days later, I picked up the truck. They claimed it had just come from the body shop. the roof was still leaking in several locations, steady bearings weren't done and the transmission hadn't been touched. My mechanic verified this. Fast forward to today.. I'm having to fix the roof and transmission myself because after returning it three times, and them telling me it's fixed, it still has a transmission issue, a leaking roof and I fixed the bearings myself. I can't afford any more downtime so don't worry penske, I'll foot the 4k+ bill. Kudos to you. Google.. before you delete this comment as per their request, I have all the documents and emails to back this up. Available upon request. This whole time, they refused to comp me a rental. So I went with discount until they sold their 5 tons at the end of July. I have moved over to calmont and won't be looking back. In the transportation business, a backup truck is very important and a healthy relationship with the company providing your rental truck is a win win for all parties involved. If you have no other options, please DO NOT SIGN THEIR BILL OF SALE PRIOR to getting a second opinion. I may have simply been unlucky, but the way this matter was handled was utterly absurd.

DO NOT BUY FROM PENSKE. SAVE YOUR MONEY Very very poor experience. They sold me a broken truck as premium package. When I wanted to return it they said its over 14days. But truck was on Penske premises for all that time. What Penske does. They buy trucks from any fleet fixes cosmetic stuff and then they sell it. I will never recommend to buy anything from Penske. After sale it's not easy to deal with their staff.

Mitch was very helpful. It was easy to book a truck. My father-in-law accidentally left some stuff in the truck, and we had to come back 20 mins after returning the truck around 10:20 pm. The service department was open, so a guy was able to help us.
