This was my second rental. As with the first, the service was great. The only reason for 4* and not 5, was that agent failed to call back as promised for over 2 weeks. All in all I would recommend them for your next rental.
They were great. No bells and whistles (but I've never experienced anything more than a free bottle of water when renting a car) but clean car, fast and great service at a really good price. I'd definitely rent there again.
I had received outstanding customer service here. They were able to match the price I was quoted by a third party and I even received a little better vehicle than anticipated. Super happy with my time there and I would definitely rent here again. Keep in mind, by renting here you avoid the 15,80% airport tax which can add up!

We are super happy with our Hertz rental. Not only the car and its performance but also with the excellent customer service. We rented a mid size car and went from Calgary to San Diego and back without any issues and excellent gas on milage. The price for renting the care was amazingly affordable. Will use Hertz again for sure.

From beginning to end, the staff were extremely friendly and professional. I booked through Kayak which can sometimes be an issue but everything went smoothly. Abu went above and beyond to accommodate our drop off after our return. Just overall a great experience.
Honestly the service was great. Was in a rough situation and Dilkash had no problem giving me a good deal and taking care of me. A little displeased that I was charged a youth fee because of my age. But that's at every rental place.
It was a late review but we rented a minivan from this Hertz/Thrifty location with pleasant experience. Our rental was a low kilometres, clean Sienna and it was ready on time so we had good start of our trip. All the fees were explained and stated on the rental contact. The employee also accepting my request taking the Toyota instead of caravan.

I would give my experience withe Hertz zero stars if I could. Hertz cancelled my reservation 3 business hours before I was supposed to pickup the vehicle - telling us there were not vehicles in the city at all. How do you only know about having absolutely no vehicles available mere hours before reservations? This left my partners and I without a vehicle for our vacation since we had no time to re-book at a reasonable rate with another rental company. ALSO, when I called Hertz to verify there were in fact NO other options for us (which they confirmed) and asked for them to process my full refund - they told me I had to do my refund through Kayak since that is how we booked. This is NOT the case. I searched Kayak and found their policy that the rental provider would handle all matters related to the reservation after the reservation was made. I tried to call this Calgary location back but for hours nobody answered my call and I could not leave a message. I then called the main Hertz contact number for Canada and within 20 mins they had processed the refund for me by phone. So not only were all Hertz locations in Calgary obviously terribly organized in terms of actually having vehicles for their reservations, but they also lied to me on the phone about processing our refund. Will never be booking through Hertz again in my life.

Both Hertz and Thrifty in this location has terrible customer service. I called to change late pick up and they told me to do it myself online. So what is the point you are working there to helping customers. I don't have computer while I was travelling so obviously when I call, I need something to be done for me. And if the brand can't do anything, what are they good for?
I dont generally write reviews, but this was terrible customer service! My credit card was authorized two times with the wrong amount, and no one had any explanation of why? Instead of $ 50, they authorized $ 130 and again $ 250, which wasnt released for more than 2 weeks (still hasnt as of today). The manager did nothing to help the situation - promised a call back and never did. What kind of service is that !! Just because you have credit card information on file, doesnt mean you authorize customer's card without their approval. Authorization approval was given once in the signed contract for a certain amount only; no one gave them approval for authorization willy nilly as required. I dont feel my credit card information is safe with them anymore.

if i could give these guy's zero, i would. rented a car in the morning, and returned it at 6 that evening on a saturday. told them this was exactly what i was going to do. because they didn't process it till the following day at 10 am, they charged me for an extra day with no notification that they did this. my only notification was when i looked at my credit card balance. called them and they told me it would take a month to get the refund. they also tell you to sign the walk around sheet, that shows if there is damage to the car without them doing the walk around while you are still at the service desk. definitely a shady operation. go somewhere else to get a vehicle

Probably one of the best dealerships in the city to rent from- always go out of their way to accommodate my reservations and car needs. I've been renting from them month to month for more than 4 months and I would not deal with anyone else. Carlos and his team are very competent, professional and provide excellent customer service. Highly recommend renting from these guys!

Staff were pleasant, but I waited an hour past my pickup time and the car still had not arrived (apparently it was supposed to be delivered from the airport location.) They said it would only be a "couple minutes." Half an hour later they gave me another car, larger than I wanted. But the most annoying thing was that they charge an additional $13.50 PER DAY to let your spouse drive. This is Hertz policy. I have never encountered that before in all the years I've rented vehicles. (If you are a Hertz gold member, it is waived, but they didn't tell me that.) This is a major problem when you are driving long distances. I was very unhappy and will never rent from Hertz again.
Service at this location was amazing!! Our Hertz van had a flat tire and this was the closest location. We came in and they swapped our van with no hassle even though they were super busy. Dont hesitate to go to this location.

Edit: They finally returned my money after 5 moths! I complained to the Better Business Bureau and Hertz finally refunded me. Please note that they claimed that the car was my responsibility between the time they close on Saturday until the time they open on Monday. So, renting a car for 24 hours on Saturday is impossible. You will have to rent it until they open on Monday. That's quite misleading, considering that their website allowed me to do it and no one there has responsibility to explain all that to you until you complain. Make sure you voice record your conversations with the staff and take photos of the car and all papers before and after renting with them. Good luck! ------- TL:DR - Avoid this place. Hertz charged me for an extra day unfairly. Dill Kash admitted fault and promised to return the amount within a month. It's been 5 months and the amount has not been refunded yet even though I pointed this issue to him many times over the phone within the last 5 months. The full story: I wish to complain in the strongest terms about the negative experience I currently have with Hertz located on 4101 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2G 2R6 and its manager Dill Kash (not sure if I spelled it correctly). About 5 months ago, I rented a car from Hertz on a Saturday for a day. The process was fast. The person walking the car with us explained that all we have to do is to return it within 24hrs and put the keys in the box with the completed pamphlet. And that's what I did. I filled up the tank, parked the car on their parking lot, put the keys in the box with the papers. All that was accomplished after hours, but within the agreed 24 hours for which I paid for. I also took photos of the vehicle and the papers, as I usually do, and left. Few weeks later, I found out that I was overcharged. I called the office and the manager Dill Kash explained that they "don't have a camera on the premise and cannot confirm that I returned the vehicle on time" (oddly convenient). Additionally, he said that they are closed on Sunday, so that gives them right to charge me for an extra day. I explained to Dill Kash that I took photos that are digitally stamped proving that I returned the car on time. As a result, he agreed to return the extra amount that I was charged within a month. 5 months and more than 5 phone conversations later with Dill Kash, the money for that extra day has not been returned. The reason he gives is that "the process is slow", "the accounting department forgot and did not process the payment". I spoke to another employee, Abhishek, who even said that the money were already processed and I should wait a couple of weeks. Few more weeks of waiting and a phone conversation with Dill Kash proved that wasn't the case. Luckily, I recorded my conversations with him admitting that they owe me money. In my conversations with Dill Kash, I have never raised my voice in a "Karen" fashion, however, I received only negative experience with him. I can see that other people here share very similar experience. I have also tried their online customer service on Facebook and Twitter. It takes days to weeks for them to reply. On Twitter they frankly told me that they refuse to do anything about my situation while on Facebook they said that they will pass my information to the branch. It's been about a month since my Facebook conversation with Hertz and nothing happened. Avoid this place and company at all cost!

Very disappointed with our experience here! We booked a car months in advance and had prepaid everything except for the one-way drop off fee and the security deposit. It wasn't until we got to the office that we found out they don't accept debit cards. They would not accept any other forms of payment, unless we could get a credit card holder to be there in person and put the booking in their name (this is very hard to do when you're overseas and know no one in the area). It's been more than a week and we are still waiting for our refund! Never renting through Hertz again.

I saw an unauthorized charge from my credit card, good thing I always check my statement in detail. i called them at once AND the manager promised to reverse them but up to now almost a month no refund was reflected to my CC. and I am surprised that there's a few comments here of the same nature. Not a good sign, not sure if our CC information is safe.
Made a reservation for a vehicle with winter tires. Told them it must have winter tires, called twice more to confirm it has winter tires. Went to pick up vehicle and vehicle was gone. No other car with winter tires was available. They had no idea the car I reserved had left their lot, so I also didn't get a call that it was not there. Will never book here again.
Do not use this rental company If I could rate ZERO i would. i am a soft spoken person and this company decided to take advantage of me. a drop of paint peeled off my rental car, and they charged me $310!! so disgusting to run such a business.

Made appointment online for 6pm when the store closed at 6pm. Made to pick up car the next day, when going in car that I booked wasnt available, I inquired what happened to the vehilcle I booked... which with attitude I was told "if you were on time for your appointment then that car would still have been avaliable" I explained how last appointment should be at 545pm or some message warning you about closing as I wasted a trip up there. I was then told "somebody's not telling the truth as I was here till 610pm" I showed my phone calls at 605 & 607pm to their store. Then asked why no one answered when I called, was told it's because we close at 6pm. When doing walk through and I pointed out chips on vehicle, when going over paperwork they were not marked down as discussed. When pointing out this info, I was given a sigh and put down 1 chip when there were 4 pointed out. On the form It stated two keys, I mentioned how I only saw 1 key and a fob.. agent took keys out of ignition and pressed a button on the fob and slowly said " two keys..." I mentioned how this is the worst service I've ever recieved when then I was told I was the worst customer. Absolute appalling customer service, I will not ever Shop Hertz again from this experience.
