Thanks to Aaron we were pretty much set up for our road trip while staying here in Alberta and had to buy minimal extras. He went over everything and did his best to also get us the van early. It was extremely clean, well maintained inside and out and ran great with no issues. We will definitely be recommending to everyone and will be back!!

Family rented bigsur for 11 days where we took off from Calgary to Jasper and back. We added rooftop tent plus most add ons we could. We recieved the most exceptional service from Aaron in Calgary who went out of his way to get us going early, we got some local tips and advice (beyond what we could plan for), the service was super friendly, and the van was ready to go! The van and equipment were PERFECT for our roadtrip. We will definitely use Escape Campervans again. We highly recommend considering this company for your campervan adventure, you will not regret it. Overall we liked the experience with the van, it was so good to have your stuff with you everywhere you go, to be able to cook or just make a tea or a coffee and it was ok to even sleep three in the inside bed (which was easy to make and we left it made for the entire week). Some things we would have like better: the price is not cheap, I don’t underhand why we pay a fee per day and mileage on top of that (when I rent a car I only pay the daily rate), $0.3 per km adds up when you drive 1000+ km. The van only had one USB port, and that is not powered with engine off so we left with few devices drain the first day, then we bought a cigarette lighter/USB adapter which is powered with the engine off and that saved us (and was way cheaper than an electrical kit). The people in Calgary, Aaron and Keith (I believe) were very supportive, polite, understanding of our needs and we appreciated their help. Thank you, I will recommend to my friends

We had a great expereince with this compnay and especially the agent in Calgary.... Aaron. Before we arrived, he sent us suggestions for our trip and packing tips. When we arrived Aaron was very thourough in explaining the agreement, then going over the van. We went thru the van with a fine toothed comb and gave us some tips. He left us with some items from previous campers that were valuable and saved us a few dollars. The van was spotless and clean and even had an air freshener. He provided us contact information for emergencies. The Big Sur van was great. Bed was comfortable, fridge worked great, it drove well even on the snow....the tires were new. He was accommadating with our return time (we had a flight time change and he was able to help us, as no one had our van rented directly behind us). We loved the van, the Big Sur had the space, and were really impressed with Aarons commitment to make sure our trip was great. Highly recommend! We will be back!

Hello there Escape Campervan friends, We wanted to share our experience with Escape Campervans. It was just amazing, beautiful, extraordinary!!! We loved it!! We are not joking believe me. So first of all it's our first time in Canada and we went there for 3 full weeks. We started with Montreal, Toronto, than Calgary and finally Vancouver. Our stop in Calgary - Banff was only for 4 full days. So we arrived 2nd July in Calgary and went directly to pick up our Van. We were welcome by Aaron. He was so friendly, heartfull and kind. He explained everything to us. We did all the paperwork and he gave us everything that we could use to sleep and even let us take more stuff that were there from other previous customers that let there for the next tourists. He showed us how everything worked and we were ready to go. We visit Banff, went to a grocery store to buy some stuff for the van and went to a Hot spring. The first night was special because it was the first time camping in a van in a national park. We woke up all the time early to visit the Lake Louise and do some hiking. We did a lot of stuff like Lake Morraine, Lake Minnewanka, Lac Vermillon, Johnston Canyon, Lake Peyto, Lake Bow and do Jasper also. It was sunny, rainy, cold, very cold at night. We suffered a little bit but the experience was worth it. We had the Big Sur, very colorfull, space for 5 people, with a top sleeper. Everything went well we hadn't any problems. We were sad to give it back. Hope to book another journey with Escape Campervans and to show that to my friends and family. Dealt with Jenna and Aaron who were both brilliant! Answered every question we had before our trip. The website is great to organise add ons; but you can also do this on collection if you forget anything. We did a 2 week Calgary return trip- drove 3000kms!! 4 of us shared the van- 3 sleeping in the van and 1 in the rooftop sleeper. This worked great. Recommend an extra layer at night as it can drop quite a bit- especially if you don't have a power hook up for the heater. The van was really easy to drive, economical on petrol, had heaps of space, and perfect for cooking. You'll get lots of great comments on the design too!! Already looking forward to the next adventure with Escape. Thanks again team :-)

Awesome time renting a Big Sur van with sleeper from the Calgary location for a trip to Banff and Jasper. Aaron and Joey were extremely helpful in getting us oriented and off to a start. All the equipment worked out as it should. The dropoff was just as seamless. Being able navigate the van through town and fit in regular parking spots was a huge plus. Van size was a great compromise between a bulkier RV and tent camping. Atlas, guidebook, keeping a bin of freebie supplies left from previous campers was a nice touch. Would definitely rent again from this location and looking forward to trying another location as well.

Just finished a 10 day trip in the Canadian Rockies driving the Big Sur model and we (my boyfriend and I) loved it!! The Van was clean, well-maintained, and provided us with the perfect method of exploring some of the most beautiful scenery we've ever seen. The check-in process was seamless, and Aaron helped make us feel comfortable with the van as we were first time drivers. We're already planning our next trip with an escape campervan. We rented and returned in calgary. Drove up and did a day in robson, 2 days in jasper and 2 days in banff. Used regular camp sites without the rv hookup. The van was perfect for our weather and our needs. It was so nice to have all of our stuff with us wherever we went and not having to set up a tent in the rain or cold weather. The add ins are nice but we really only used the GPS. It was also nice to have the mini kitchen and all of the storage space. We had no problem maneuvering or getting anywhere despite the size. Would definitely recommend.

It’s everything you’re looking for— comfortable and reliable vans that offer a bed, a stove, a fridge and a sink — all that a fairly affordable price. But it’s more. Each one of their vans is hand painted by a local artist, hand picked by the employees themselves based on their own preferred esthetics. Aaron, the manager of the new Calgary branch, drove us to the airport in his own personal vehicle at the end of our trip. Absolute legend. I went a little weekend camping trip to Banff and my experience was incredible! The customer service was great and very helpful. They provided me everything I needed that weekend. I was a little worried about winter camping and staying warm, but it ended up not being an issue. The heater they provided me was enough to stay warm. Everything went super smoothly. I highly recommend them! We rented an Escape Camper van at the Calgary location to tour around the Canadian Rockies. We had an amazing time and renting a camper van, especially through Escape Campervan was a great idea that made our trip more enjoyable. The vans are new, clean, well equipped with all that is needed and affordable. They drive very well and are attractively designed. The front desk staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, has tons of information and recommendations, so please follow their suggestions. We did not have the need to contact them while on the trip as everything worked just fine. Please be aware of the pick up and drop off times - it is just like a hotel (11am checkout). Please pay attention on the mileage so you might easily exceed the daily limits. Also, milage is calculated in kilometers in Canada. Get a full insurance as there are lots of amateur RV drivers around who don’t know what they are doing. All in all we are glad we chose Escape Campervans and it made out trip more enjoyable.

Aaron was so helpful getting us going with our van out of Calgary. Really went above and beyond with lots of suggestions of areas to check out based on our current itinerary. We had some issues with the battery of the vehicle, but customer support helped us out with the problem in no time. Definitely opt for the top insurance package - may seem like a lot, but it includes glass coverage with no deductible, and we were very grateful for it after a transport truck kicked up a rock and cracked our windshield in a complete fluke. The bed in our Big Sur comfortably slept two. You could probably squeeze a third in there if you really need, but we used the rooftop sleeper, which was surprisingly roomy. I would note, however, that when you book on their website, and you receive an email confirmation, it is just a confirmation of your request. Another email will follow the next business day with whether they can accommodate your trip - and this email went to our junk folder. Luckily, the customer service team were able to help us out once we realized what happened. Their website doesn’t seem to indicate actual availability, and every time I visited it indicated the same number of vans left as a warning to try and get you to book quicker.

TL;DR—Super friendly and helpful team, great experience in the Canadian Rockies. We had booked a Big Sur campervan from September 16 to October 10, 2021. Pick up and drop off were straightforward. We thought it was great that Aaron, the hub manager, took time for us to give us helpful tips and personal recommendations! About the campervan but not least about the National Parks and Provincial Parks, according to our itinerary. The free wifi was also very convenient as we arrived in Canada by plane just before. The Big Sur was the perfect size for us and had enough storage space for our stuff. We traveled with two 80 liter trekking backpacks, as we were camping in the backcountry among other things, and also with two 36 liter hiking backpacks and a medium sized suitcase. Most of it found space in the second row of seats, while we had stowed individual items in the drawers in the back of the campervan. The electric heater proved to be a brilliant recommendation from Aaron during our trip to have a little more comfort now and then—electric hookup at a campground provided. But even without additional heating, the nights were quite okay with enough sheets and clothes. By the way, since the bed takes up the entire width of the campervan, this provides enough space for two persons. We had no breakdowns or other problems during our adventure. In summary: Our Big Sur Campervan was a reliable and comfortable vehicle in a reasonable size. (Especially in relation to the sometimes huge RVs at campgrounds!). In short, we highly recommend Escape Campervans in Calgary and Aaron and his team! ????

Used an Escape Campervan for our honeymoon! Pros: -Friendly and accommodating staff. Great customer service. Could not stress that enough! -Very very cool designs on the vans. We even got to pick from two different paint jobs upon arrival! We got lots of compliments on the van during our travels, and we really hyped up Escape Campervans to people who asked about it. -The van we got was clean and mechanically sound. We had no issues with it at all during our travels, and our trip was 2 weeks long. -The convenience of having our accommodations and a vehicle wrapped into one was so nice. -Decently affordable! -Allows drivers over 21, which was nice because most other camper van companies we looked at before booking were 25 and over, and I had just turned 25 during our trip and my husband is 22. -Bed is comfortable! -Bug socks were a nice feature for air flow! Basically essential if you’re camping during the summer. -Easy to drive once you get a handle on the size -The solar powered fridge was a god send. It could fit way more than I thought it could. Cons: -As far as campervan conversions go, these are pretty basic. It does seem as though they tried to create the cheapest builds possible and cut costs in a lot of areas. For example, the low roof passenger van type on the Big Sur felt a bit claustrophobic at times and there was a lot of places that didn’t seem to make the most of the space. A few other basic things that would be nice to see are roof fans so that you don’t have to have the doors open to have air flow. A water pump would be nice as well. Stronger solar/electrical system would also be nice. -Due to poor air flow we had to purchase a removable adhesive big screen so that we could leave the back doors open. Would be nice to maybe have something like that included. -The fan we got given with the electrical kit didn’t really work so we didn’t end up using it at all. Ended up buying a tent fan instead. -We got given a broken canopy that we paid to have included, but we were refunded right away for it so no loss there. -The kitchen kit’s can opener did not work at all. Ended up having to jimmy all our canned foods open with one of our own knives. If you are trying to get a peek behind the van life like we were, then you’ll probably be a little disappointed, as this campervan isn’t really representative of that. However, if you’re looking for a camping experience similar to tenting but with more mobility and some more comfort, Escape Campervans is the place to go. Overall a good experience!

Where to even start - in a good way. Actually.. in the best way!! My boyfriend & I rented a van for 6 nights from the Calgary location and we were beyond thrilled with the service we received from start to finish. We worked directly with the store manager, Aaron, and he was seriously the best! If you’re ever visiting this Escape location, ask for him. Okay, firstly, since we were travelling during COVID-19, we were already a bit nervous just with cleanliness and renting a van that was used by someone else previously. However, Aaron did an amazing job at making sure we felt comfortable and that our van was extremely clean from top to bottom. As soon as I saw the van I felt comfortable. Secondly, Aaron was so responsive to any questions we had. We emailed him a couple times over the course of our travels and he responded right away. We were never left waiting to an answer which was so great. He also provided us with great suggestions on what to do and what to see as first time travellers to Alberta. He also gave us the heads up for some locations that were closed so we could better plan our road trip - so helpful! Lastly, when we returned our van we still had some time to kill in Calgary before our flight. Aaron was kind enough to drive us HIMSELF to downtown Calgary to explore the area and leave our luggage at the Escape Campervans office. When we were ready to head to the airport, we went back to the office, grabbed our luggage, and then Aaron drove us to the airport himself. We were sooo thankful for this and definitely were not expecting this service from him. It was so nice and such a nice personal touch. We were so thrilled with the service we received. We have used Escape Campervans in California as well so we weren’t sure if the service would be the same or different in Canada. Let’s just say because of our experience in Calgary, we will FOR SURE be using Escape Campervans in the future. We have also already recommended this company to so many of our friends and will continue to do so. Thank you Escape Campervans for making our trip seamless, and thank you Aaron for your generosity!

These things are awesome! The looks and even cheers I got rolling up to a local festival in one are worth the rental alone. You get a custom painted van without the tacky wrap you normally get on camper vans. The price is affordable enough to use in place of a hotel or tent while still being comfortable. I got the Maverick model that has a sitting area that turns into a queen sized bed in the back. The camping stove and kitchen were clutch for late night snacks and even more elaborate meals. I also used the popup sleeper on top for all the friends with sub par tents when the rain came. I plan on using Escape Campervans for years to come

We picked up the "Bad Lands" van in Calgary last week. It was a great way to explore Alberta! My 2 year old was so thrilled to have a big bed right in your van (or as she called it our bus). We had a great time. Rented the van for the first time and since it was October, we spent the first night sleeping in the van outside out garage just to see how cold it gets in the van with the heater on. It worked out ok. The van is easy to drive, we then spent a night at lake louise campgrounds, another in banff camp grounds, went up high 93. Aaron was very helpful in guiding us with everything. Highly recommend it.

We rented our van from the Calgary location for our trip into Banff and Jasper National Parks. Picking up the van was super easy and Aaron was incredibly helpful. He took time to take us through the van and made sure we were comfortable and set for the trip and even gave us suggestions for things to do on our trip. He did recommend adding on the canopy, which we did not get and regretted due to having some rain during our trip. This would have allowed us to cook more during our trip since you have to be outside to cook. Checking in the van when we returned was easy and quick, too! The Big Sur van was awesome and was perfect for what we needed (plus I loved the artwork!). It also was pretty easy to drive for its size. If you want to be able to stand inside the van you need to get a van that is taller and if you want to cook inside you need to get a van with the kitchen inside instead of in the trunk, but like I said it was perfect for us and we had a great time in it. We are looking forward to booking another Escape Campervan trip!

We've rented vans from Escape several times in the past few years, and Aaron at the Calgary depot provided our best, most helpful, laid-back and easiest rental experience by far. The van was in tiptop shape and he had a lot of extras available to make our off-season (read: no services!) camping trip down to Glacier National Park more comfortable. We had so much fun and look forward to visiting again some time! Thank you Aaron!

We took a 13-day trip through Alberta with our two kids in July. Aaron was super-helpful via email and the van was very clean when we picked it up. We appreciated him scheduling our pickup time so there was no waiting with no one else there when we came. It was a breeze to drive, and I loved having the little kitchen in the back. More than once I whipped up a meal at a quick lunchtime stop. Very handy. The price is attractive relative to an RV or a hotel. A few downsides: - The fridge was unreliable, sometimes working, sometimes not. Not happy to wake up and find the milk and cheese warm. Eventually we learned to just use it for apples, oranges, and cold drinks instead. Aaron waived our $30 extra mileage charge to compensate for this problem. - Aaron discouraged us from using the fresh water for the sink, so we used a 2L jug for dishes. We couldn't get the grey water receptacle to close tightly, so it dripped out in the campsite. Not ideal in bear country. We just put a yogurt container below it and emptied that into the outhouse periodically. So don't expect to have a fully functioning sink. It's kind of in an awkward spot anyhow. - Only the two front side windows open, so it was HOT at night in the van. - We used the rooftop tent which was really tough to close. Make sure they show you how to do it. Climbing in and out of the tent not is for the faint of heart, especially for an overnight bathroom trip. - One particularly stormy night we all slept in the van. Two adults and a 12yo in the bed, with a 9yo on the passenger seats. Do not recommend. If you have four, definitely get the rooftop tent. - But... every time you want to drive anywhere, even for ice or a day trip, you have to take all of your stuff out and collapse the tent. (I think. They didn't say so, but it seemed unwise to drive with it up.) - With 4 of us and all of our gear, it was very cramped when it rained. Also, every night when we made the bed we had to move our bags, coolers, etc. to the passenger seats. If we wanted to drive anywhere we had to break down the bed and move everything to the back. Easier than breaking down a tent, but if you were sleeping in a tent you'd just leave it up and go for those quick outings. - There was no scheduling on the drop-off, so when we arrived at 9:30am, there were several other families there at the same time. I think this would be much more comfortable with just two people instead of four. But if you're up for the challenges, the service is very good.

What a fun way to spend a week visiting friends and family. Booked this so we could be safe - a place to sleep instead of other people's homes, and it was well worth it! We stayed a few nights in campgrounds, parked in driveways, and had a fun experience we aren't likely to forget. We may end up making this an annual part of our summer now. Our 12 year old loved the top sleeper and the couches to lay on and relax - very unlike our normal tenting experiences.

Booking online was simple and easy and the prices were amazing compared to the high costs of hotels in Banff. Parking was easy and we appreciated the Bluetooth capable van so we could listen to music without extra cords. We enjoyed our Indie for 10 days on the Ice Fields Parkway, Highway 99 and the Sea To Sky highway, camping at Banff, Jasper, Golden and Whistler. The layout of the camper is brilliant; we still have a hard time believing how spacious it is for two people to sleep and cook - and hangout during the occasional drizzle. The F150 with its big V8 was rock solid, and handled all the roads flawlessly. I would recommend the configuration for anyone who wants a very flexible arrangement and plans to camp where there is at least electricity. The Indie is feature rich, which means two things. First, pay attention and learn how everything works before you take off, because it's complex. Second, all those feature come from gadgets that draw power, so you need to - let me repeat that - you NEED to either hook up every night or do some active power management which the folks at Escape Campervan should be able to explain to you. We did have a problem with our unit. Those things happen - the test of a vendor is what they do about it. Escape's roadside service unit was very responsive (shout out to Danielle!). And when we returned the unit at Vancouver, the manager wanted to sit us down and understand everything (shout out to Chris!). They are sincere about wanting to make everyone's experience great. We will be using Escape again.

We (2 adults, 2 kids) rented Ovis for a 9 day trip to visit family and friends in BC. Our reason for going with Escape was that the van could transport 4 passengers safely. It was great to drive, and way better on gas than I expected! We transported A LOT of luggage (2 large bike bags, a hockey bag with another bike, 2 large duffels with camping gear and a few smaller personal bags!) in the back and it was super easy to load and unload. Another reason we went with this van...it was as cost effective as renting a regular vehicle but gave us the flexibility of having a kitchen and bed. We brought a tent for the two kids because the roof top tent was a) expensive and b) looked sketchy for having two rambunctious boys get in and out of. We got the Bug Socs and they were lifesavers this hot and buggy summer...we were able to have the windows open at night to keep the heat down. The bedding add on was also great. The reason I'm giving the review 4 stars is that the pick-up/drop-off hours were limited and inconvenient for us, resulting in an overnight stay in Calgary on the way there because we couldn't pick up after our flight arrived and 5 hours at the airport on the way back (that's also because we had so much luggage). Aaron did help us out by getting the van to us earlier than planned on our pick up day (THANK YOU) and there were a few items he left for us that were also nice. And towels! I found the add-ons were a bit pricey...many of the items could be bought for what they cost for one rental. We also would have really appreciated a bike rack for our bikes. I had lots of questions about insurance and other things before our trip and the general customer service was prompt and helpful. I've recommended Escape to friends and would rent again.

My first ever experience with Escape was fantastic. Aaron, the lone wolf in Calgary, could not have delivered better customer service. The van, "Trouter Space", was excellent, super clean, and performed flawlessly every day. My only concern for future visits is the very narrow window of availability for van pick up. I got lucky this time; my flight arrived just moments before 1:00, when the pick up window begins. That was dumb luck...if my flight had arrived 3 hours later, I would have had to wait until the next day to get the van, and I would have lost one fifth of my vacation. This policy is not very customer-centric, and I don't recall having been forewarned of this. Just beware when planning your flight times.

We had an amazing time with our van. We started out in Calgary and travalled towards Jasper. After a few days we then turned around and dropped our van off in the same location we picked it up from. We travelled during february and as you can imagine it gets pretty cold during winter times. However, Aaron (Hub Manager in Calgary) did an amazing job in briefing us for our trip. So dont worry about doing a trip in winter it works exceptionally well (you should definitely get the heater though). In general the experience was great and at the end of our trip Aaron even dropped us of in the city center and showed us arround Calgary. True Canadian kindness.

There were four of us and we rented out the sleeper tent on top. Rented a camper van for about two weeks to camp throughout Banff and Jasper national park. In terms of the vehicle itself, it was everything I had hoped it would be and served us so well! Had zero issues with it, frequently used the included stove, sink, and fridge. And the bed actually gave us some of our best sleeps in a while, out there in the wilderness. The van had a beautiful custom paint finish, and you come to love the sight of your particular van. The staff, particularly Aaron, were super kind and helpful. No sudden surcharges or problems upon pick up or anything like that. We were given suggestions, useful advice, and a concise tour of the vehicle. The van was a huge part of my latest trip being a success. It was quirky, fun, reliable, and intuitive. Aaron offered great service, you can tell that he is passionate about his fleet. The bed in the back is comfy and spacious. One of the downsides is that if you don't need the rear seats, they do not fold down, so it's a bit in the way, but decent for storing your bags on. I had a great trip in the Big Sur campervan! The queen size bed was a dream and surprisingly comfortable. I slept really well. The Bug Soc allowed the front two windows to be open at night to capture the breeze but keep bugs out. My only suggestion for improvement would be to include a long handled squeegee for the windshield since most gas stations only offer the short handles! It was a great experience travelling around in the national parks of the Canadian Rocky Mountains with an Escape Campervan. Our «SnowKat» was a loyal companion. Compared to other RVs, it was really cute but maneuverable on the Bow Valley and Icefields Parkways and on small campsites with tight turning radii. Therefore, we could choose any campground without having restrictions on vehicle length. We highly recommend an ax to cut the firewood at the campsites in the national parks of Alberta and British Columbia , and a canopy for rainy and sunny days. We felt safe and secure, knowing that we can call Danielle at any time for assistance with technical problems, but this was not necessary. Aaron Santos, the store manager at Calgary, gave us many advises and hints for trips in the Rockies. He always answered quickly on e-mails and promised that we would have a unique time with „SnowKat“ – and that is what we really had!

Escape has been my go-to for road trips and my first experience with the Calgary depot has continued to prove how great this company is. The vans themselves are well equipped and make camping and exploring so simple. I can't tell you how great it is to be cozy inside the van sleeping while it's pouring rain outside. The vans also have plenty of room and with the rooftop sleeper you can comfortably travel with and sleep 4. The Big Sur model in particular is phenomenal because you can have the bed down and all 5 seats still up. Moving on to the depot itself, I had such a seamless experience. A specific shout-out to Aaron who made the entire process so easy and made sure to check-in to see if we had campsites booked (because they book quickly around here) along with verifying what add-ons we needed for the van. When we got to the depot everything was set up for us and we were able to run through paperwork and start our trip within 20 minutes. He also gave us a great doc of recommendations and provided a lot of travel tips for the area. Will always recommend Escape to anyone. They really play a key part in making a memorable road trip

Rented the Big Sur, "Peggy", for 5 days and what an amazing experience! She was great on gas, super clean, reliable, easy to drive, and had the space we needed to store our things. We travelled at the end of August and it was a bit chilly waking up in the morning but the bed kit was super warm and comfy. Aaron, the branch manager in Calgary, was super helpful and kind. Don't be afraid to ask him questions. Overall, very enjoyable trip!

We cant say enough about the amazing service provided by Aaron at the Calgary location. He bent over backwards to accommodate all 5 of us and 10 checked luggage bags, including paddle boards and kayaks. We got the Fish-mobile the large camper with rainbow trout all over it and oh boy was it a show stopper. Everyone loved it as we rolled into mountain lakes, trails and white water rafting. We didn't have 5 people sleeping in it and used it mainly for day trips with the kitchen packed with lunch food and the stove to cook things up on location. And to carry the 3 paddle-boards, and a 2 person inflatable kayak. The experience was great from start to finish. The camper van is really easy to drive, its long so find lots of room to park. We loved it and will book it again next time out. Thanks Aaron for go above and beyond to make this an amazing experience.

Great experience!!! I stayed in the Lake Louise campground and it rained almost every night - I was dry and warmer than all the tent denizens. The van is spacious and handles really well. It is only slightly longer than a normal van so you can still park in regular parking spaces. Finally, the staff is super friendly and genuinely wants you to have a fantastic vacation. I will definitely use them again!

We rented an escape camper van in Banff. This was our 4th time using escape campervans & once again.. it did not disappoint. Aaron was so fantastic at check in making sure we understood everything and gave us SUCH GREAT recommendations of what to see based on our hiking abilities. He listened to us and what we wanted out of this trip. The van is was amazing. We are used to using the Mavericks. When we checked in Aaron said to us.. once you use big sur once you will never go back.. and it’s true. Big sur was PERFECT! So worth the extra money.. and it drives so smoothly and easily. We had a minor issue with the sliding door of our van.. had previously been damaged so when we took it out we had issues with it latching correctly and continuously saying door was ajar. Not a big deal to us.. but they immediately apologized when we told them about it and refunded us a small convenience amount. They are such a great company and Aaron is clearly passionate about his job!! 4th time using.. and 4th GREAT experience!

We rented Aquafire from the Atlanta department of Escape. The first impressions where really good, and Reagan provided all information we needed to get started and some helpful tips. Aquafire was a good experience to drive through the South with and we had no problems on the road. Unfortunately however the fan that was supplied didn't work. In general this was our best experience with Escape so far. I'd recommend going for Escape Atlanta.

Perfect experience. The vans are clean and really practical. Could easily and safely fit my family of 5 when road tripping, as their van as 5 regular seatbelts, but also fit all of us for the night, 3 inside the van and 2 inside the rooftop sleeper. We avg. 14L/100km which is surprisigly low considering the extra weight of the rooftop sleeper and the A/C blasting during our 2nd week. It was our 2nd trip with an Escape, 1st in Utah, now the Canadian rockies. Were already looking forward to our 3rd!

I took a solo trip to Canada for Spring Break 2020 and had an incredible experience with this company!! Not only did they exceed in customer service but they went above and beyond to accommodate for the colder temperatures that Canada offers. I added on the kitchen, bedding, and electrical kit. When I went to pick up my van they added in another comforter set, and an extra space heater FREE of charge because they wanted to make sure that I was comfortable. My van was called “Bullwinkle” and had a moose painted on the side and two bears on the back. The representative walked me through every aspect of the van and even let me take a video..because let’s face it..I wasn’t going to remember everything. Upon returning my van to them they gave me a lift to the airport instead of me scrambling to get an Uber. I traveled from Calgary>Canmore>Banff>Jasper then made a u-turn and came right back. I booked the van for a whole week and didn’t have any problems! This was my first time renting anything like this and now I’m hearing that they are making new models but with Jeeps, I can’t wait to rent from them again!!

My girlfriend and I rented a van for 3 days at the end of September to go camping in Fernie from Calgary. We’ve rented other campervans before and this was our first time renting from Escape Campervans; to say the least we were quite disappointed. Our best experience was with another rental company where we had a bigger van (Ford Transit Cargo), for pretty much the same daily price. Pros: - Nice vehicle to drive - It was well maintained and clean - The bed is comfortable Cons: - The van is definitely the cheapest model. There were no USB plugins or Bluetooth, nor ports included (we had to buy our own), which may not seem important but it’s nice to be able to charge your devices or have music for no reception zones. - The van is meant for 5 people with a roof bed, which we did not get as it was just the 2 of us and the set up inside was not convenient at all. The bench seats at the back unfold into the bed, the (minimal) storage drawers build under the benches mean you lose access once the bed folds out. You can store stuff on the row of seats behind the driver/passenger seats, but this makes things awkward, especially getting in/out of the van once the bed is folded out. The frustration/comedy of this varies depending on how tall/big you are. Leaving in the seats behind the driver/passenger significantly reduces the space. The company should take out these seats and advertise it as a 2 person van for a lower price, which might make the experience more enjoyable and more affordable than $200/night. - This is not a proper campervan, just some seats were removed to put in benches that fold into a bed with no improvements to insulation, ventilation or lighting. At night we were extremely cold and everything was damp in the morning due to lack of ventilation. Aside from a camping stove, nothing else is included in the price and you have to pay extra for cutlery/plates/cups/pots/pans, linen, solar shower ($35CAD!!) etc… - You cannot stand up in this van. - You’re allocated only 150km/day, which is not a lot considering the distance you need to travel to get anywhere in Canada. Other companies will offer 200km/day. -The water tap was not usable, we were told it’s because of COVID-19 as air bubbles in the line and you have to siphon with your mouth……We weren’t informed until we picked up the van and had to ask for a discount because a deduction was not automatically offered. -The gas tank was only 3/8th full at time of pickup, so we had to fill up prior to going anywhere which allowed us to also buy a USB port, so not the end of the world. We dropped the van off with slightly less in the tank and were not charged for the difference due to the initial inconvenience. -The kitchen is outside accessed through the rear doors, not ideal when the weather is not cooperating. We go soaked trying to make dinner. The fridge is tiny and the gray water spout was not closed, and until we noticed we were running gray water onto our campsite….not ideal in bear country. -The pickup was easy but the drop off time was either Sunday before 4 or Monday between 8:30 & 10am. Our options were to either rush to get back early enough on Sunday or miss time from work Monday morning. In a nutshell, for the same price, you can have a really great experience with a sleek dark gray Ford Transit Cargo van from another Calgary company with more space to hang out and stand up in, great storage, comfortable bed/bedding, ventilation, inside kitchen with everything supplied, and so on and so forth… Our total bill was $800CAD for 3 days without any options/add-ons, plus the cost of the extra mileage. Our experience with other companies was far more worthwhile, comfortable and a much better value ($3300CAD for 21 days as a discount applies for longer rentals...ridiculous).

We had an excellent trip with Escape Campervans from the Calgary depot. We were slightly delayed from our original pickup time due to a late return which was a bummer. Our van wasn’t “immaculately” clean (it was clean enough for us though) as described in many other reviews however we understand that Aaron was doing his best to get the van ready as quick as possible so we could get on the road and make it to our first destination. Aaron provided top notch customer service at pick up and drop off. He provided great recommendations and considerations for our trip and left us feeling like we had met a new friend on our trip rather than an associate at a rental company. The van allowed us access to all the places we wanted to go and provided all necessary camping needs. We would definitely recommend renting from Escape Campervans!

I wish I could give escape camper vans a 6 star review and I mean this honestly. I’d like to preface my review with the fact that we’ve rented from escape 4 times now and will keep coming back to rent more in the future. In short, their customer service is top notch. I rented from the Inglewood, CA, USA location first and we were in a rush, so I didn’t properly check the roof top tent. We experienced rain and wind and Yellowstone and discovered a small leak. I can honestly say escape did everything they could to mitigate the situation for the better. After that is when I quickly realized this company has amazing customer service and became a lifelong customer. I have dealt directly with folks in their Inglewood, Utah, and Calgary locations and they have all been top notch. Thank you escape! I can’t wait for our next adventure.

Aaron, the office manager, went above and beyond to ensure we had a great vacation. Things will come up whenever you sleep, eat, and drive in the same place, and Escape flexed to accommodate us and meet our needs. From forgetting towels to needing to push our drop off time, we received amazing and kind service that made our trip stress free and extra enjoyable. The van was so clean, well detailed, and easy to drive, and was fitted out with plenty of little details that ended up being everything we needed. We were even provided with a to-do guide that was helpful for making the most of the Canadian Rockies which was great for when there wasn’t cell service (most of Icefields Parkway!). The fun paint design on the outside of the van helped us easily locate our van in seas of white vans parked at popular locations, and was a fun touch to a great trip. Escape Campervans is the clear choice for campervan rentals in the Rockies! The service was excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure we had the best trip experience possible. The van was awesome. We had the Big Sur. It had tonnes of room for 2 people. The fridge fit way more food than I thought it would. The bed was comfortable and so cozy to sleep in at night. I thought the morning light would wake me up but the black curtains kept the van dark. The van handled great on the mountain roads and was a talking point every where we went. Everyone notices the van with the funky mural. The van also fit easily into our campsites and can fit in a standard parking spot in a pinch. We were early to pick up our van and Aaron put everything aside to make sure our van was cleaned and ready to go. He was available for questions while we were on the road and also gave us plenty of advice about where to go and what to do. In addition to getting compliments about how awesome our van was just about everywhere we went, the van itself was a highlight of our trip. It had everything we needed, was easy to drive, and the convenience of converting the benches to a bed, inserting a table, cooking in the "kitchen", and general aesthetic of the van itself is a huge reason why I would recommend Escape Campervans to anyone! If you are planning on renting from Escape Campervans (and you absolutely should) I would suggest bringing along a dust pan and small broom, especially if you are planning on spending time outside while you're at a campsite to help keep the inside clean. Enjoy your trip! We haven't stopped talking about our experience with these guys!

Aaron (Calgary's manager) is AMAZING! Our entire experience was smooth - from reserving the van, email correspondence, & van pick-up to van drop-off. He 100% lives the brand and is so dedicated to making sure you have the trip of a lifetime! His customer service is off the charts. We enjoyed hiking & rock climbing throughout Banff & Jasper National Parks for 6 nights. The Escape Campervan was so easy to drive and easy to park in spots throughout the national parks and Canmore/Banff/Jasper. If you reserve a campground spot with a hookup (which we did several of the nights), you can charge all of your devices and use a heater throughout the night if the temps drop. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge (stays running all the time, as it runs on a separate battery) so we were able to go to the grocery store a few times, store our food, and prepare all meals ourselves. It was so nice to have a coffee or tea whenever we wanted. So many people would walk by and comment on the awesome artwork and kitchen set-up - we were always the parking lot's most flash vehicle in a sea of white camper vans! Tips: Reserve your campground spots in advance online, as campgrounds fill up fast in Jasper and Banff National Parks. Canmore proved to be an awesome town (mountain bike trails from the nordic center, elevation place for rock climbing if its raining, and a lot of hiking trails) and would make a good place for camping on the first or last night of your trip with its' close proximity to Calgary. Campground Recommendations: Wapiti Campground in Jasper N.P. + Two Jack Lakeside Campground in Banff N.P. Can't wait for our next trip with Escape!

Overall amazing experience. Aaron and his team went the extra mile and had the van ready early morning ahead of schedule, the check-in experience was easy and within 30min of arrival at the office we were fully briefed and on the road. The van was great, the bed was comfortable and the "kitchen" functional. Also easy to drive, well enough power to climb even the steeper mountain roads efficiently and compact enough to navigate city roads and parking without a hassle. I definitely recommend Escape Campervans. Make sure to book your campings ahead of time in the National Parks, it will avoid you having to check the booking website each morning in hopes of a cancellation. (Which does happen now and again, so don't despair if you are still missing a night or two)

At first glance via online photos, I thought the Big Sur model would be too big to maneuver but it was smooth sailing for the entire trip and it fit perfectly in regular parking spots. The van was super clean, the bed was spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen and bedding kit really helped. It kept us warm and dry during the chilly, rainy nights we endured. Very easy to convert the sleeping area to a dining area and extra storage below the bed was also helpful to store the bedding. The mini kitchen in the back was handy when stopping to have a bite near stunning locations - meal/coffee with a view! Many approached us with compliments and questions about the van and it made for cool pictures too! This van was definitely a highlight of our first ever journey through Banff, Yoho, and Jasper! If you are looking to road trip, this is one million percent the way to go! We rented The Big Sur out of the Calgary, CA location and took it down to Glacier National Park in Montana, and then back up to Banff. It was so easy to be able to just pull up to a campsite each night, I can’t imagine camping any other way now! The van it’s self is easy to drive, we didn’t have a single issue with it. Lastly, the staff is SUPER helpful and friendly. Aaron, the Calgary Hub Manager was so gracious, and made sure we had everything we needed to make it a great experience.

We could not have had a better experience with Escape Campervans. It is never easy to organize such of a trip from the distance, and they provided all the help and trust quickly since the beginning. Once there, Aaron was very professional, kind and patient: he gave us advise without pressuring us (e.g. better take blankets, table and chairs) and showed us how the Campervan worked in great depth. He made us feel very confident with it. The Campervan was kept in amazing conditions and worked brilliantly. We felt very happy with the mentality of the company: they provided us emergency telephones (we phoned Aaron outside working hours and he kindly helped) and they have a re-use policy of all the food an other material leftover. To sum up, the company and the campervan provided us with the perfect resources for our roadtrip, and we are very glad and strong recommend (and hope to see them again soon!).

I hired a van from Calgary for the weekend to take my wife to see the northern lights. Aaron was outstanding he answered all the questions we had and explained everything to us. The van was perfect, great bed, very very comfy. Van is set up so you have everything you need for your trip. Aaron even threw in a couple of free extras for us and allowed us to return the van a bit later due to a medical emergency. If I was to have one criticism it would be the charge for extra kms over the allocated daily allowance. I would suggest adding an all inclusive KM's package as that would be a great service for customers. I will be definitely hiring the van again one weekend next month.

We had a uncomplicated pick-up and bring return service. 2. The campervan was in an absolutely technical perfekt condition. 3. The equipment is perfekt, more than we needed. 4. We got the campervan included equipment in an absolutely clean condition. 5. Besides we received useful information about the campervan in Calgary. 6. We met in both renting stations ( Calgary and Vancouver ) always nice and politely staffs. 7. We were happy as we had got a prolongation of 3 days for our campervan and have saved money for hotel and passenger car. 8. The propane gas bottle was in all renting stations for only 5 Canadian $ the cheapest that we have purchased. 9. We wish you a lot of success in the future and hope you can expand with more establishments in other towns in Canada. 10. But the absolutely highlight of our campervan was the painted cover. More than 40 people on parking lots, petrolstations,supermarkets and campgrounds asked who had painted this car or had you self painted it. Everywhere the same questions. Because we had not an advert from Escape on the campervan, people thought it is our own car and we told their no it is a renting car of Escape and the company is new located in Canada in Calgary and Vancouver and the company is coming from USA. In our opinion you do need more cars of the zebra covers. A recommendation from us for your easing when people come for pick up the car. You can show a small movie with instructions about the car and people can see where is what or for example how can I replace the spare wheel and where can I find the tools. And this is possible in several languages too. We used this service at AutoBarn in Cairns / Australia 2014. And the staffs can use the time for other things. Had a great time renting with this company. The van ran beautifully with no issues the whole time. There is a fridge a 2 burner stove and the back which folds into a bed and not to mention alot of storage ! The gas also was not as bad as I thought it would be for being a larger vehicle. The bed was also pretty comfy. The only thing I would recommend is if you do rent the bedding (extra cost) make sure you bring more blankets if you're a cold person. The duvet was fairly thin which is great for summer but it was about 2-4 degrees when I was there so you'll probably need a bit extra. Thank you escape for the great trip !

We had an amazing weekend camping in the Rockiest with our escape Campervans! The weather went from very hot, to 3degrees to a thunderstorm at night and we stayed warm and dry throughout because of the van. We also chose to add on the canopy which was really helpful. I can't emphasize enough how convenient it was that there is a stove and cooler at the back. We were able to cook full meals and enjoy them outdoors and then clear it away so easily! Great campervans to travel around Banff and Jasper National Parks. Everything you need, and if you need more stuff (chairs, table etc) it's not too expensive too add them. Very helpful and responsive staff, they have built a great little community would highly recommend :)

We picked Escape Campers because they have great reviews and we are glad we did. We worked with Aaron and he was great! He reached out a few days before to see if we needed anything. The day of he was keeping me posted when our van would be ready. Checking in was easy and again Aaron went above and beyond with his tips and ideas for our trip. Afterwards Aaron sent us an email with all his recommendations. We had a great experience, the van was clean, in great condition, and had everything we needed. A couple recommendations from our trip to Banff/Jasper. - Book your campsites as first come first service fill up quickly. - get to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake early. - rent a canoe early morning (8:30am) while the water is still calm - best view of Lake Louise is little bee hive - Valley of the 5 Lakes is a must

Very uncomplicated, competent camper rental. We spent a great time in Canada. The camper equipment was good - what we missed was a tarp for a rain roof and a mosquito net. But you can get both in each garden center ;-). Everything worked fine, super nice people in the rentaloffice and only to be recommended. We will take an Escaper again for our next Canada-trip. Campinginformation: You can find space at the smaller campgrounds (without electricity and running water) even in high season without reservation - but you have to be there in the morning. We only had one reservation for our three weeks most of the time around the icefield parkway. Great quiet places: - Mount Kerkeslin Campground near Jasper - Rampart Creek (here reservation makes sense, but we had luck to find a place without one!) - Golden Eco Adventure Ranch (reserve!) -Dry Gulch, Radium Hot Springs -Marble Canyon Campground near Banff Have a nice trip with your own Escaper :-D

We rented a van for 12 days. Reservation and customer service were smooth and easy. Changes were made with ease. Picking up takes a few minutes to review the van details, but was done professionally and courteously by Aaron. We were offered food items left by previous campers and extra propane bottles, also left. Never ran out. Three of us (2 adults and a 12 year old) were comfortable all through our trip. The van was well equipped and kept us warm and dry as we explored Banff, Jasper, Edmonton, Drumheller and Calgary. We cooked almost all of our meals and slept 3 in the bed with lots of room. We could have used an extra blanket, as one of us had a habit of rolling over and taking the cozy duvet with him ;). This is a great way to “camp” while staying dry and without the put up and take down of a tent. We had a fantastic time and would recommend Escape to anyone nimble enough to climb in and out!

We received OUTSTANDING service from Aaron Santos, the manager in Calgary. He really went out of his way to accommodate us and he salvaged for us a full day of traveling. The van was in great condition. It performed very well except for the USB plug. My previous experience with a campervan was is Iceland. If I had to compare I would say the campervan mechanisms in Iceland were a bit more simple and intuitive to use. This campervan had a bigger kitchen. Couple recommendations for the next traveller: - There is no power outlet in the van. I would recommend a 12V converter to plug your electronics - The bug sock was recommended to us for warm temperatures. This was a great recommendation to air out the van without bugs. - Bring or buy a lighter for the Coleman stove. Overall great trip, great service. We had a ton of fun. Would recommend.

Aaron from the Calgary depot was great, highly communicative and accommodating. He had our van ready before expected which was a great way to start our trip. He took care to make sure we were completely prepared - including lots of additional questions we had about making sure the van was comfortable in this colder time of year. We'd also called a few days before pickup with a few questions and appreciated that Aaron made himself very available to talk through everything. He provided a bunch of additional little details and items which made our trip more convenient, and even sent us through a list of campgrounds and hikes for our route. Cheers Aaron!

Aaron Santos, the manger of the place, is just amazing. He provided us with great tips and we had a very welcoming and great service. The camper vans are great! The only issue we had, was that the bedding kit was to thin and the value for the money wasn’t there. Other then that, it was perfect.

The staff is helpful, understanding and accommodating. We had a great camping/glamping trip with the Big Sur! It was spacious enough for the four of us (adults) and the roof top sleeper is definitely easy to "open/set up" once you get the hang of it! We recommend Escape Campervans for your future trips.
