Hi! I wanted to write this review since my experience with both pickup and drop off for my rental car was a terrible experience. I picked up a car from Vancouver airport on Aug 7, 2020. I had repeatedly asked for a sedan - but I kept getting pushed for a SUV and finally succumbed. There was no inspection details provided to me upon pickup. However, when returning the vehicle at Alamo Calgary airport - the branch manager (JM), definitely not social distancing nor wearing a mask, consistently insisted that he could see a dent on the right passenger side of the vehicle. There was no way for us to tell whether it was a dent or not, and no way for us to know whether the dent had already been there when we picked up the car at Vancouver airport. The branch manager (JM) used the dent measurement tool and I still could not see the dent, let alone it be larger than his measurement device. At this point, he decided to pursue damage services, while being very discourteous. I am very disappointed at the lack of compassion and manners, as well as lack of transparency during pre-pickup and post-drop off inspections. Especially during COVID times, the only way to encourage tourism and travel (which is the heart of Alamo’s business) is to be compassionate towards the customers who are willing to continue using your services. This is no way to treat a customer at this time, and to be truthful, at any time, regardless of a global pandemic. I will definitely not be using Alamo services moving forward.

We had such a long day of travelling and Gurmeet was absolutely fantastic in helping us get everything we needed quickly so we could get going. I had rented a car with Alamo for going on 4 months now. They have incorrectly charged my Credit card several times. I agreed to paying 136 a week all in from what was stated from customer service when I initially extended my contract( to have the Airport staff notify 3 months later me that they airport charges 21% taxes and extra fees) The only official time they correctly charged me was the first week I have the car. Customer service stated that I would receive a better rate for my base model car only in return to be told from the Alamo Airport staff that 730$ is too cheap and now they have to RAISE my rates. 730$ a month for a base model tiny Fiat with out heated seats or any extras (and 730$ is too cheap they have to raise my rates) after me being in the car for 4 months as well as a being an Alamo member .Now if I stay with them the rates are going to 900+ a month...Once again for a base model FIAT. Thank you for the fabulous service guys really appreciate it. I was wanting to stay for another month or 2 until the car I'm purchasing is ready , but after all of this I will not be returning.

Be careful I do suggest to not use of their service, I left my cell phone and my wife’s driving license in the car when I returned it. I realized about it after 20 mins, came back to the place that I dropped off. Surprisingly, nobody knew about it. Nobody gave me back. They do not care about yours. Be careful.

Normally I wouldn’t post a review of a large rental agency unless there was an issue that couldn’t be resolved. However, we had great service from this location at Calgary Airport. Getting our rental was easy, which was great. The next day I got an email from one of the managers that included all of the other managers for this location letting us know that if we had questions or problems we could reach out to the team. We did end up having a question, and they promptly responded via email and made sure everything else was going alright. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Reserved a car online, arrived, was told there were no cars available. That there were cars sitting outside but they are all previously rented. 5 of us with a sleeping 2 year old in our arms. Will never reserve or rent a car with Alamo again. You should not be able to reserve a car if they are not available. Dishonest and wrong.

After Budget wanted a $375 deposit and it was going to be an hour for my car that I had reservations for a week in advance. I went to Alamo they they did not want a outrageous deposit and had me on my way smoothly within 15 minutes. The return was easy and clearly marked as to what to do since they were closed at the very early hour I had to drop off the car. I will use Alamo no matter what airport I go to. I travel for my job so smooth rental and sometimes last minute rental is important.

Overall experience was good but you need to have more staff during the rush hour. Also, the lady who checked the car upon returned was not a good listener. I told her at the beginning that the gas tank was only 1/2 full when we picked up so we returned with a 1/2 full tank. But she went ahead and wanted to charge me for a full tank and it took awhile to explain that over again.

Boy oh Boy, thank you George! A 1 hour delay from YVR caused some frustration and anxiety from my young family. Hard to believe, but my reservation at Ace Rent a Car was cancelled and the customer service agent decided to argue with me. We rented a Kia Sportage from these guys on 18th December. One hour later, we were driving on highway and the car caught fire. Me, my wife and our 8 year old managed to jump out in nick of time. Within couple of minutes the entire car engulfed in flames. We were in shock, in the middle of highway in freezing temperatures. My kid was so traumatized with this , he could not stop crying. We found help from a couple who were driving behind us. Called the rental company many times, sent emails, messages etc. 3 days later got a call from the location and all they had to say was "we just got to know about this, we are so sorry". We lost our belongings in the fire. I have been asking them for rental agreement which burnt with car, they haven't sent it yet. Instead they have sent a claim for the loss of car. Their negligence almost cost us our lives. Please stay away from these guys. Alamo is a bad company with incompetent employees, zero customer empathy.

Scammers!!! This rental experience started out very well. We received a nice car, reasonably priced for the week, with unlimited kilometres. We arrived at pick up and did the walk through together. We pointed out scratches and imperfections on the car; they acknowledged them all. We asked for a record and they denied, stating they don't give out paper records. We went on our way and had a great trip. Returned the car just as we received it. We did another walkthrough with the lady, made small talk and asked for directions. Three weeks later an agent from the claims department calls stating damage to the back bumper. We told them there was no damage reported during the walk through. We asked why it took 3 weeks for them to notify us? Their answer: we simply dropped the car off and left. Which is a lie. We are fair people and this is straight up a scam. They don't give you anything in writing, they lie and charge your credit card.

Very poor experience all around. I had initially reserved and had received confirmation of my reservation of a luxury class vehicle. A Cadillac or something similar as the website described. I get there to find they in fact do not have my car, nor do they have anything similar. I was offered a yaris, or a wrangler. The young Australian behind the desk lacked the proper acumen for a front of line position, and just gave off the air of not wanting to be there. I made the proper decision and went to avis to get better service in the heart of town. Avoid enertprise/Alamo if you can.

I returned my rental car there. Very fast and efficient service and the whole procedure took less than a minute. The only disappointment (it has nothing to do with Alamo) was the total absence of gas stations near the airport. I was coming from downtown on highway 2 and took the Airport Trail Road offramp to the airport. You'll need to get off a couple of off ramps prior in order to fill up. Just check the locations of the gas stations before returning your car to avoid paying a costly fuel surcharge.

They charged me a $100 for being under 25 even though my online payment did not show anything regarding that. I know its a common fee for someone under 25 but the rental company should have been clear about that online, especially since I clearly specified my age. They should not have surprised me with it at the airport and left me with no other option. The picture I attached to this review is an email I received from ALAMO following my confirmation of the car rental. When I got to the airport, they charged me an ADDITIONAL $100. Its safe to say that I will not be dealing with this company in the future.

Rented a car that was brand new almost had only 15000 km but it starting giving us issues about and hour out on our trip. Had to waist a day of our trip at dealership making sure car wasn’t going to do something foolish as we were driving in winter in the mountains and the engine light keeps coming on. Also since we were driving into BC in February I set up rental in November and asked for snow tires. When I got to airport clerk informs me that the car might not have snow tires. It did in the end but he was like we can’t guarantee this and so on. I got a small discount and apology from the airport clerks when I return the car but I wrote to head office they have never answered me back. Not nice. The car damper our vacation as it caused a lot of unnecessary stress.

After a flight from Toronto carting loads of ski and snowboarding gear, it was a true delight to arrive at the alamo counter and receive efficient and incrediy friendly service. We were checked in in no time and received a vehicle upgrade which had the ski rack option we'd ordered in advance. After some less than ideal experiences with other car rental companies, I am a loyal fan. I got a free upgrade because they run out of unit that I was booking on. From compact SUV to mid-size. Staff is friendly and the lady who gave me the inspection sheet take her time to let me inspect the vehicle before I drive it. remember: good winter tires is way better than 4WD with all-season. I proof myself while renting it. not 5 star because they do not use winter tire. I was sliding around. If I knew this from beginning, I would just opt for a sedan and spend less on gas. I did pass this message to the staff, hoping it will continue on to the management.

Customer service was ok but charges, fees and extras were not explained clearly. PC Travel's documents say one thing then Alamo something else. Each charge on the PC Invoice was different from each charge on the Alamo invoice. Very misleading. Also, airport fess for this rental were outrageously expensive. Will not use this location again!

Avoid this company like the plague. The customer service call centre will bounce you back and forth with the branch (which don't answer their phones) and take no responsibility for booking complaints. They refuse to give email addresses in which you can direct any complaints. They refuse to tell you their complaint resolution process. The online complaint/support forms have DNS issues and don't load. I have been forced to get a third party investigation into my complaint, don't hesitate to contact the better business bureau if you experience similiar treatment.

We reserved a Dodge Durango through Qeeq app well in advance (almost a month prior) Upon arrival, we went up to the Alamo desk and asked for the keys of the vehicle. The gentleman who was working for National initiated to help us and walked to Alamo. He looked up on their system and told us that the vehicle is ready in the garage. We walked in the lot and a guy who had Enterprise jacket on told us that the vehicle we reserved is unfortunately not available and will instead give us Mazda SUV 5 seater. The reason we booked Durango was because it was 6 of us with three bags, and the man was imposing the 5 seater vehicle on us. After kindly explaining that we were expecting a Durango for a very valid reason, he denied the whole discussion and kept telling us to drive that 5-seater. We had an early morning flight and we just felt scammed upon arrival. The discussion with the Enterprise rep in the garage got a little heated while my friend did mention that it is not safe to drive 6 people with 3 luggage’s in a 5-seater but he confidently told her that there’s no such issues regarding safety. We only told him not to make us look stupid and he said we’re calling ourselves stupid. We went inside to solve the issue with the guy on the front desk, and mentioned the issue, he asked us to wait 30 mins or he would cancel our reservation??? We eventually got a Durango after waiting for more than an hour! E xtremely rude and unprofessional. Never reserving with Alamo again.

The people at Alamo definitely have there act together. I've rented from others in the past, but so far I've never been happier when I rent from Alamo. The standard "upselling" is kept to a minimum. Vehicle selection is left to the customer (all vehicles are brand new / low mileage). The whole process of signing paperwork and getting on the road took less than 10 mins, and even less time returning the vehicle.

Best rental service ever! And I rented many cars over the past 30+ years. First it starts with the greeting, Ricky welcomed us to Calgary and was great. Gill then escorted us from the front counter to our car, gave us a choice of 2 colours and made sure we were satisfied. When we returned, Ming greated us took the time time to ask about our experience- really appreciated all the staff and service. When you're away from home it means so much to know that you're being taken care of.

We rented a car from Alamo that we picked up at the Calgary airport. Upon our arrival at the air port the rental counter was backed up with customers. The person we were dealing with immediately advised us the their would be a delay in getting the car to us as the Covid19 protocols required the car to be brought down to the rental office. The incorrect vehicle was brought down initially which was offered to us as an free upgrade. It was unsuitable for us so had to wait until the correct car was available. We ended up receiving an upgrade and also received a substantial discount for the additional delay and we very happy with the car as it was the best possible option of the snowy weather we encountered during the rental period.

Used the Calgary Alberta location which unfortunately do not have a skip the counter feature. We were directed to the counter to get our vehicle. We had ordered a luxury vehicle which was supposed to be a Cadillac XTS or similar but were informed that they do not have this vehicle. Provided us with a BMW X1 which in our opinion was not a vehicle fit for the category. The ride and size was horrible as we had driven off to Drumheller which was about 90 minutes each way. This vehicle class was the same as a small SUV - Ford Escape at best which i have driven and found to be a much more comfortable ride. For the money spent i felt that we did not receive the class i chose.

When you rent anything else from Alamo (GPS, Fuel Convenience, etc..) they tell you a price per extra, but don't mention the 15.5% extra they charge you because you happen to be at an airport. So, be prepared for your bill to be much higher than you expect and when you ask how much something costs per day, make sure you understand the price the staff quote you isn't even close to being the real price.

We rented a car from Anaheim to Seattle. Great service from the guys at Anaheim. We got another car from Vancouver through the Rockies to Calgary.Upgraded to a F150 loved the v8 over the rockies. Great service at the pickup and effortless drop off at the airport. Both times we got a upgraded car and brand new.I was worried when booking the cars after reading some reviews but i had no problems whatsoever. I think some people are born whiners.

Car we ended up getting was good quality, clean and we felt safe driving. It also had snow tyres. Be careful of the website though as we were under the impression we'd booked a specific car. In the end the SUV we booked wasn't there and we got a different car from the 'mid-range'. It was a little frustrating but in the end I guess that didn't really matter but if it matters to you then go somewhere else.

Very nice location because you can walk here from the airport. Service was quite good. It was snowing when we arrived and he recommended us to change to a bigger car that could handle the weather. My wife and I got in from our flight late with our 10 month old who hadn't slept the entire flight. She was exhausted and screaming. Alamo's computer system was down so the lineup was HUGE. Luckily, we found Gurmeet and she helped us get a car early so that my wife could take our baby and our luggage to the car to sleep while I waited. She then helped me get my papers signed as soon as possible. Did I mention that Gurmeet was done her shift but helped anyway. I'm so thankful and happy that Gurmeet helped. Thank you so much. BEWARE IF GOING INTO MOUNTAINS, the tires are M+S, not actual winter “snow” tires. We drove to banff, golden, revelstoke and the car felt very unsafe and slippery on highway 1. We were told all their fleet had the same tires. The check-in/checkout service is fast and efficient and the car is clean, just wish that they would put proper winter tires for customer safety

I rented a nice little Kia from Alimo, Calgary International Airport location. I had reserved online and picked up the car. The staff at the counter were efficient and friendly. I rented the car from Friday November 20 @ 17:30, until Monday November 23 @ 15:30 for $110 all in, a great price. Thing is when I called the same location to see about extending my rental they wouldn't offer a rate anywhere close to what I had just got, they wanted $47 a day +++, for the same car!! What a scam! So I returned the car, and rented a different one from another company, also at the airport, for a rate the same as Alimo's initial rate. I guess they hope a person drives far enough away from the return point that they would have no choice but to pay the extremely inflated price....yeah nice try Alimo, last time I rent from them.

Lack of transparency during pick up as well as pressure to go forward with an SUV while we originally asked for a full-sized Sedan. Note there were no inspection or walk through during pick up from YVR. Fast forward to drop-off, and there is apparently a dent that was absolutely impossible to view coupled with discourteous behaviour and lack of understanding regarding our case from the branch manager at YYC. I have formerly utilized several rental cars from other companies who have provided me with stellar service. Will never be using this company again and will also be informing all friends of our terrible experience.

I still have a vehicle with them and I am stranded in BC with bad tires. Every time I call them, I get transferred to a call center in a Spanish speaking country where there is zero help. Road Side Assistance also, zero help. They just don't care about their customers. They gave me such a hard time to extend the rental agreement for another month. Made a reservation through Expedia but there was no option for winter tires. So I called this branch to confirm. The guy told me he can put in a request for winter tires but there's no guarantee. And I'll only know if winter tires are available on pick up day. No problem. I told him I need to talk with my friends first. Then he asked for my personal information to finish the registration. Note that I didn't ask him to do anything. I told him that I would call again to provide those information after I confirm with my friends and I may cancel my reservation if my friends don't agree. Then he threaten to cancel my reservation and said my rates would go up if I didn't provide my personal information immediately. And he started giving me attitude when I was trying to find out why I needed to provide more information. It made no sense to me why he needed my information immediately during that call when Expedia already confirmed my reservation 2 weeks ago. Nobody contacted me to ask for more information until I called? At the end of the call, he made it clear that I can either provide my information immediately or he'll cancel my reservation. I'm not sure if it was Expedia's problem or Alamo but I will not purchase any service from Alamo in the future thanks to their customer support.

This was my first time renting from ALAMO. WOW, were these guys were fantastic! From the moment I showed up I was treated as a valued customer. The first fellow greeted me at the desk with a smile and eagerness to make sure I was comfortable with the experience. He had my paperwork ready to go and showed me where to go to pick up the car. I was in that area for less than 4 minutes. Then I went to get the car. The next fellow again greeted me with a smile and allowed me to choose between two of the requested models with different colours. The car (Jeep) was immaculate and the gang processed me through that activity in less than 5 minutes, including some tips on how to get the most out of the rental. They told me where to return the car and even provided the address for the closest gas station so I could fill up the tank before returning the vehicle. During my time with the vehicle it worked perfectly and I was very pleased with the performance of the Jeep. When I brought it back to the airport the gang looked after me right away and I never felt any stress during any time with the rental. I am so impressed with ALAMO that not only will they get my business again I will be sharing my experience with friends and family in hopes they rent from ALAMO themselves. Five Stars all the way. Thank you very much ALAMO!

Am from the UK and rented a car to go to the Rockies. Within 20 hours, a coach crashed into me whist going to Lake Minnewanka. We exchanged details. I took photos of his licence, coach, insurance details and the damage and sent them to Alamo. They had everything they needed to get the money from his insurance company but they ended up charging me for it. Easier to go after the victim I suppose? The damage recovery unit never replied to single one of the 5 emails I sent them. They just kept sending me emails with conflicting information. On one hand telling me they were trying to get him to pay but on the other sending me an invoice for the damage. And there is no way the damage caused would have cost that much to fix either. Over 200 canadian dollars for a slight scrape on the bumper? If we hadn't reported it, they would not have even spotted the damage. The guy doing the inspection did not notice when we handed it back, I had to tell him, even though I had phoned up on the day it happened to tell them about the crash.

Actually it's -5 star, really horrible experience!! If readers find it a lengthy review, plz do read closing remarks if u don't want to pay for what u r not responsible, plz for ur own sake!!! I rented mostly from Avis, Enterprise, Hertz and Thrifty but never had this bad experience. I worked for Avis-Calgary Airport as an expeditor-Rover (Who checks car with renters at the beginning and the end of rental agreement) from 2015-2016 so I know how the whole process works as I've seen "a few" accidents and cooperative and careless renters, too. I rented a Hyundai Elantra 2021 in Jul-2021 for 4 days, while walk through I found chip and front windshield damages. I told the lady to mark them to avoid arguments later, initially she said v are not concerned about smaller than a dollar sized chip, it's due to hail and had been repaired. I said, I insist plz mark it on the paper to avoid unpleasant surprises. It wasn't bright since it's a covered area on departure floor of Calgary Airport which may become a source of Alamo's income from renters who gonna miss/ignore all "Similar" negative reviews. In my family, everyone even kids says that I'm a slow, careful and defensive driver. I ignore such comments as I prefer to avoid accidents and damages regardless of ownership. When I returned the car, 2-3 people checked (while, at the beginning of agreement, I was with a lady, only) car and finally Rover told me that he found front bumper damaged, I said yeah but that's how I got it. It was dark I realized it after 2nd-3rd day that bumper is really close to ground from passengerside. I said I was the only driver and car didn't had any accident not even bumped or hit any single object. Further he said they checked twice b4 me and no damages so I'm responsible for the damages. I said if being professional, u guys miss the damage, y not an out of practice or non-professional (e.g., customer) can not miss these under the bumper damages?? For rational guys, if I hit a car front with anything,is it possible to break the bumper from bottom without damaging the upper parts of bumper?? No scratches, no cut exactly hidden damages??? Further, let's imagine that I'm responsible for it, as on 10-August-2021, front bumper replacement cost could be around $2,500.00 for Hyundai Elantra 2021 starting from $23000 to $31,000?? He said your credit card may have car damages recovery option. I said even if they cover, it would be like coverage from someone's pocket who is not responsible for it. I said if I would have damaged this car, I am willing to pay but he said ur arguments cannot change my decision. Closing Remarks: I don't know, may be Alamo won't charge me but plz check n mark each n every part even under the bumper to avoid situations like me. I won't recommend Alamo (Calgary Airport) ever, this way they can be justified (in their own sense) or honestly charge me for my car rental only. Everything went fine till they "Irrationally decide" to held me responsible for damages. I know that only rental fee is justified not the claim of damages. They had been calling for my insurance company to cover that claim now they transferred this to Credifax (also having highly negative reviews) to collect. I'm willing to get negative credit history but not to pay. -5☆

We rented a car from Alamo for a 10 day trip. The pick up process was smooth and was given a vehicle inspection form but it wasn't properly signed. I checked the car but there were no dents so all was good. In the US when renting a car, the employees are way more professional about it. The actual rental experience was really nice until we went to return it. As soon as we returned the car, one of the employees saw that we didn't get their insurance and started vigorously checking the car for the smallest things but couldn't find anything until he saw the roof/top of the car. Literally the "three" dents he found from when we were out when it was unexpectedly hailing one day warranted a $300 deductible and further costs to repair the car. YOU CAN BARELY SEE THE DENTS. We kept good care of the car but the hail was out of our control - the dents are not even noticeable without their tool that they use. This has never happened when renting a car from Alamo from the states and WILL NOT be renting from them again. Literally ruined the end of my vacation and my car rental experience.

We picked a rental first time from this location. Van was not noted for all damages which was already existed when we rented it. As pickup Location is an parking lot, its difficult to check all faults till we come out and see in daylight. 2ndly Insurance charges are way high compared to car rentals in non-airport location. Apart from these they add whole lot of other charges which are special for airport. Our rental for 4days was through online portal was just $84 and we paid in total about $290. We request for an free upgrade which is normal as per other reviewer which was not provided to us.

We live in Hawaii and like to travel back to ski once a year. This year was exceptionally cold in Calgary. We reserved an SUV and because my wife, 2 month old, and brother-in-law were back in the airport waiting on luggage Gurmit, one of the Alamo attendants outside in the cold, let me come back to warm up the car and then take it down to get them. There was nothing wrong with the car we first got except the seat belt we could not get to tighten over the car seat. So we pulled back up and I let Gurmit know and she quickly found us another car (with ski racks and snow tires because she knew we were going to the mountains) and even helped us unpack the first and then repack the 2nd car. I was very impressed by her customer service, patience, and attentiveness to our family.

Working with Nadu in advance of arriving at the Calgary Airport location was a pleasure. He was helpful and accommodating. Upon arrival, the vehicles were ready and as expected. The only problem I had was upon returning the vehicle once I noticed the rate was wrong, and had been wrong since I picked up the vehicle (it didn't match the amount in the reservation). The person who checked me in seemed to want me to just accept it but I was not going to pay $110 more than agreed. But once we went into the office to correct it, they more than accommodated me with a total a little less than the original amount, so I was happy. I guess it just goes to show you that it's important to bring your reservation receipt with you to make sure.

Be very careful I do suggest to not use of their service, my husband left his cell phone and my driving license in the car when he dropped it off. We realized about it after 20 mins, came back to the place that he dropped off. Surprisingly, nobody knew about it. Nobody gave us back. They do not care about yours. Also, after passing four moths, nobody make a call to ask about them, whether they are found or not. I swear my driving license and my husband's cell phone were in the car when we returned it back. If you experience such situation, you will agree with me. Be very careful.

Not a great experience! Customer Service at the airport was not friendly at all (maybe cause was late but still you expect some courtesy) and they didnt even have all details for the vehicle they were giving us. Vehicle paperwork shown that has not damages at all and full tank.. however when we got the the vehicle it has dents, windshield damage and less than 3/4 of the tank. We went back to the counter and the service rep was completly annoyed for us going back and detail all the damages... no body walk with us to inspect the vehicle.

The people were great and the car was great but on returning the car to Calgary airport when I went to turn left to park the car I seen a sign saying "don't enter" so I stopped to back up and didn't realize but didn't realize there were spikes. If the sign wasn't there I wouldn't stop and backed up. I don,t understand why the spikes. I was told I would have to pay for 2 front tires and the toeing of the car.

We booked our car in Ottawa International Airport for 10 days, our flight was delay so we arrived just before they closed,, me and my hb checked the car together and notice a scratch in the back light so we recorded a video with my phone and then he went to show it to the sales man called OBEH, he told him was totally fine we shouldn't worry about if it was less than 6 in, so we were fine, we trusted him and as it was very late and we have 2 kids we went to our destiny, everything went fine until we returned the car. NICHOLAS SMITH went to check the car with my hb and he obviously noticed the scratch and my hb explained that OBEH told him it was fine and we have a video probing that was there before we drove it, unluckily my phone was not working so he could not see it until we sent it to him to his email, they made us waste our time, very unorganized and poor managed, they DIDNT FIND THE REPORT OF THE LAST RENT BECAUSE THE SCRATCH WAS THERE WHEN THEY GAVE US THE CAR, super bad information as OBEH said we were fine, and after all they still charge us, ALAMO RENT A CAR ROBED US, WE SENT THE VIDEO, NEVED HAD FEEDBACK, THEY JUST CHARGED US FOR SOMETHING WE DIDNT DO AND WAS THEIR BAD INFORMATION OR LAZINESS BECAUSE THEY WERE ABOUT TO CLOSE, ANYWAY, WE HAVE THE VIDEO WITH THE DATE AND TIME PROOF THAT WE DIDNT DO IT, WE HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY, UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBED. We rent a car for a few days in calgary. Since we arrived in revelstoke, the battery is out of order. After Many calls, during which the company tried not to find solutions, they don't want to pay a new battery. Their solution is to boost the battery for 70$ that we have to pay. On top of that the problem would'nt be fixed. So we have booked a car that is broken. Alamo doesn't want to help us they want us to come to a alamo center to get the car repaired, but the nearer is 3 hours from where we are and the car doesn't works. We always rent cars when we travel all around the world and we have never had a problem like this even with little local rentals. Does someone think this situation is correct ?

Our car smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. Be sure to check your car before you drive off. It was late at night, or I would have taken it back. No one was at the counter when we arrived, I had to go find someone. Slow check in. The person who checked us in finally was very nice.

My experience was good and mediocre. A rock hit the windshield. I thought I would have to replace the entire windshield. They said it was repairable and I didn't owe anything. It was so nice to hear that. The only complaint I had was that the rep convinced me to fill up the tank with Alamo. I didn't realize that they charged me for a full tank of gas regardless of how full or empty the tank was. So, in this case, I got ripped off as I didn't use nearly a full tank. Never again will I let the company fill it.

Very very very very bad experience with Alamo. I rented a car, got a damage and Alamo was very very quick in taking the deductible of CAD 800. On the other hand, I'm waiting since more than 60 days to get the necessary documents in order to claim back the deductible from my insurer. I booked a rental minivan for 11 days out of the Calgary Canada airport location. Vehicle was clean and ready and did a great job for me. I returned the vehicle filthy from my travels and the return was fast, efficient and no problem. By booking pretty far in advance the price was very good. A very satisfying experience.

Absolutely avoid. I was asked to accept a smaller vehicle than the size booked. The attendant finally rustled up an equivalent. It was late and dark and i signed the inspection sheet to get going. On return the next morning the attendant combed over the vehicle and noted a chip mark on the windshield. and advised that this would be billed. I argued with the manager that there had been no stones hit the windshield for the few kilometres it was driven. As a frequent traveller, If this is the business model that Alamo are now following it will be the last rental i take from them or their group.

Booked a full-size but at the counter was offered a low mileage, new, mid-size SUV for $10/day more. Took the offer but the SUV had 38K+ miles on it and definitely not new. It was 9:00 at night and it has been a long day travelling so I didn't have the energy to go back and demand another one. The SUV ran well, though, but every time I climbed into that car I kept thinking of being cheated!

Tried to book car rental through Expedia same-day and searched car rentals in Calgary airport. The ONLY results for rentals starting in the next 8hr period showing on Expedia were through Alamo and Thrifty rentals, so naturally I detoured over to their desk, at which point they told me they have no rentals. They also said it was Expedia's problem and it is certainly NOT only Expedia's problem. As a pro traveler there are few things more infuriating than when a customer service business does not communicate with the third party providers and OTAs that are crucial to their success. When no other party is showing availability and you are, first off, that's most likely on you. And second, if you can't rely on those you work with then what are you really doing anyway....you can't aleaya just blame the other guy. The thing I found particularly upsetting here, however, was the desk agents insistence that it was somehow my phone's fault, just becuabeI had the currency set to something other than Canadian Dollars, haha! I was just stunned, as it's a global, US-based phone and obviously not a consideration here at all. And if that wasn't enough, the front door of the rental car facility nearest their desk was broken, making me walk 2 blocks around in -30 weather. So yeah, I don't recommend these guys because obviously they did the worst job communicating to everyone and did not take responsibility for a problem that was unique to them.

Having rented cars from a number of competitors and locations, particularly in Calgary, this was the best level of service I experienced. Car was clean and an upgrade, but they have good stock so don't expect getting lucky with something like a Cadillac or $100k BMW like I have at some other places.

Wow, my first rental from Alamo was amazing ! It started with no line up, no hard sell for their insurance or add-ons and some awesome advise from their agent Ayana. Was renting a large vehicle to drive my daughter and her bridesmaids to her wedding, he recommend a Ford Expedition which was perfect. Can’t thank Ayana enough for making the whole experience wonderful. When returning the truck I missed collecting items from the third row seats and Renee promptly contacted me when they were found and arranged a quick shipment to get them back to me. Late flight arrival just pasted midnight and they gladly waited. $220 for a standard car for a week. Was given a choice of Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata. Got the Nissan with keylessGO, remote start, heated seats. Make sure you check for windshield damage such as chips and pitting as these cars have quite a few. It has a BC plate but no winter tires. I am not sure how they got that running legal in the middle of January! Three bags in the truck and FWD means you will get stuck in the snow of BC and I did. Inquired the staff when taking of the car for prepaid fuel plan but was just told to return it with full tank. However I returned the car without refueling, was charged $1.60 per liter. Not sure why the staff won't answer me about their prepaid fuel. Want to make a few extra bucks I guess?

Very disappointing experience! In short words, if you were class 7 N driver license holder from BC, they won’t rent you the car! Here’s the full story: I reserved a rental car with Alamo because I read from posts online saying they have great service. I also did an accelerated check in, fill in all personal information including the driver license. After I landed at the airport and went to the counter, the clerk told me that due to company’s policy, there is no way to rent me the car because I’m the holder of class 7N from BC, and so does other rental companies! Even I explain that In BC, a class 7N DL holder can drive the car independently, and I’m over 25 years old, they still won’t let me rent. All my trip plan is based on the assumption that I get a car, if I can’t get a car, not just that my original plan will be disrupted and also all my booked hotels have to be cancelled without refund, I could lose thousands of dollars; now you can tell how angry I were when I heard those. In the end, I had to ask other rental companies. You know what, Hertz doesn’t have any issue of renting me the car at all. What a surprise! What I am particularly mad at are two things: 1. When I booked online, there is no reminder that a class 7N can’t rent. When I did the accelerated check in, where I filled my driver license detail, they didn’t remind me of such company policy but showing a successful message. Only when I arrived they told me this, guess they really like surprises. 2. Your leadership or company policy maker really needs to study the difference of class 7L, class 7N and class 5 from BC. Why other companies has no problem about it at all while your company seems really concerned? It sounds like discriminating to me that your company doesn’t trust class 7N holders who are allowed to drive independently.

My car rental experience with Alamo at Calgary Int'l Airport was extremely satisfying. The first Alamo representative was very friendly, helpful with suggestions (I took him up on prepaying for a gasoline in advance at a super deal price of 0.92 cents @ liter), very efficient, down to earth and offered us complementary 2 bottles of water. The next agent was also great, recommending to us to take a new Kia Sportage with only 2300 km on it. The last Agent gave me excellent guidance as to how to leave Calgary Airport and directions with a map to get to Radium Hot Springs. Upon return, our experience was again just as great, very efficient, very friendly. Thank you for a great experience.

One of the agents followed me out to my assigned auto to help familiarize me with the controls inside the vehicle. I have never rented a car before and the experience was so great!! I had researched many companies beforehand, and Alamo stuck out to me because the deposit was far less then the rest of them, and the prices were fair!! I had paid for the GPS add on, then realized the next day the car had a built in GPS, so when I returned my car they credited me the charge! It was an all around great experience! Great car!! GOT SCAMMED. DO NOT rent from Calgary Airport location. We rented a car for 7 days. It was clean, counter staff were friendly and helpful. Pick up was quick, we did a walk around the vehicle and shot video just to be safe. No problems with the rental. We parked underground for 3 nights, in a private driveway for 3 nights, at Calgary Airport our last night. No hail, no falling rocks. We even purposefully turned back once when we saw we would be driving on a gravel road! We were careful to say the least. My partner insisted that we not even eat in the vehicle! Upon our return we hadn't even exited the vehicle before we were approached by someone who immediately began using what we later learned was some kind of optical enhancing device, devices that that were NOT used when we picked up the vehicle. The attendant told us they routinely inspect the vehicles with these devices BEFORE a client picks up their vehicle, as a courtesy to save them time. Absolutely outrageous! To employ an optic aid without our knowledge is deceitful at best and fraudulent at worst. To have us sign off on a vehicle, inspected with the naked eye, and then upon return inspect that vehicle with an optic enhancing device is a scam. They have sent me an invoice for $1490.00, which according to them already represents a significant discount! The 'dent' in the roof can't be seen, period. We couldnt see it even with the device, and we truly tried, bobbing and weaving trying to catch the right angle to see 'it.' I took pictures that show nothing there. The best part is that even by their own standards of what constitutes a dent this wouldn't qualify. A dent is anything larger than 2 inches in diameter. Don't rent from Alamo Calgary. I will post pics if I'm able and updates if applicable. I can't believe this location represents this company's customer service practices. But off in the distance as we were leaving I heard another customer starting down the same road...

Alamo Calgary airport is terrible! DO NOT RENT from them. After inspecting my rental for any kind of damage and then filling it with gas, I returned it to their garage area at the Calgary Airport on July 10, 2021.Their employee inspected it and told me I was “good to go.” When I asked for a receipt, I was told that it wasn’t company policy. A week later, they asked me for my insurance information because they claimed I had damaged the car. There was no other kind of information attached and I assumed it was a scam. Then on July 21 they sent another email asking for $1300.00 for the imaginary damage. The pictures they enclosed show absolutely nothing wrong! In the photos, two areas on the left front of the car are circled in yellow, but there’s no damage. They just selected a couple of random areas, circled these areas in yellow, and now are saying there was damage. Horses**t! I can’t even tell if this was the same car that I drove. The fact is that they are trying to get money from me because I refused their $29.00 a day “hail insurance” when I first rented the car on July 5. These people are nothing more than a bunch of thieves wearing a company banner. The real issue is that this is probably company policy - try to extort money from the people who don’t buy your overpriced, useless extra insurance. Spend your money elsewhere, definitely NOT at Alamo. And be aware that Enterprise owns both Alamo and National.

Check in process was smooth, I had no issues. The folks who brought me to the car was amazing as well.. However, I'm a bit disappointed with the car that I got in YYC last week. The car was very dusty and was not detailed at all. The outside of the car was also not washed or not washed properly at least. There were muds on the side front body above the tires area. I always rent from Dollar or Alamo 3 or 4 times a year. This time it was Alamo. Unfortunately, I had to wait 20 minutes or longer even though my car is suppose to be ready. The gentlemen was working both the National and Alamo desk at the same time with 3 folks waiting after me. The SUV was new and clean. It wasn't till we had driven 100 miles, and I realized the next day we did not have a ice brush which was an issue each morning. On return, I mentioned to the customer rep about the brush, scraper and he offered a discount. It wasn't till I got home I realized my bill was unchanged. Also had rock hit the windshield and put it thru my auto insurance. Waiting to see how that all works out.

Received very good service at this location. Picking up your car is a bit of wait but that only seems to be because Alamo is so popular. I have used Alamo several tomes and have had no issues. This location was no different. Highly recommend.

Although I like Alamo, and rent from them almost exclusively, this experience was marginal due to the interior condition of the car. Check in was excellent and the exterior of the car was spotless, however, the interior seats were ALL stained in a position that would make one suspicious that it was urine. To be fair, it could also have been coffee or another beverage. The vehicle had also been smoked in. This was thinly disguised by some sort of pine like scent that had been sprayed or placed in under the seats.

I had until last week only had OK or bad car rental experiences. I was therefore not aware that I could get such great service from a car rental company, that it even would make my day. However Alamo showed me something new. The staff, especially Gil, was very helpful, friendly and service minded and answered all my questions about the car. We arrived at the Calgary Airport without a reservation to the customer service desk at Alamo on Sunday evening. Our Alamo representative was very gracious, accommodating and to top it off he had a great sense of humour. We were able to rent a pick up truck for a very reasonable amount and when we needed to extend the reservation for a day, once again very polite and accommodating service. I wish I had have paid more attention to his name so I could have asked that he receive a nod of appreciation from head office. Alamo never disappoints.

Originally from Europe where the customer service beats the American experience , now living in San Francisco and renting cars, a lot. The level of the service at Alamo Calgary doesn’t compare to any other company, even those in Europe. I always rent with Alamo wherever the location I travel to. I booked and prepaid with carigami 5 or 6 months before with a great rate a midsize SUV for September. Once I arrived, they didn't had any midsize SUV left, so they offer me a free upgrade to a fullsize SUV : a brand new Ford Edge that handled pretty well my 3 weeks road trip in the Rockies. Car was clean. Return part was as quick as pickup. Just a gas checkup, and I was good to catch my flight back. Keep up the good work Alamo! You rock!

We had a great experience. The check in was fast. We got a new 2019 Equinox , 2.0L turbo with enough power and all the extras we were looking for including Android Auto / Apple Car Play which was great for navigation. It was very clean both inside and outside. The car had under 11,000 km on it only. We enjoyed driving this vehicle a lot! The return was also very fast and well organized. This is the first time we rented from Alamo and we are looking forward to do it again. Thanks!

When we arrived at 11:30 in the evening, the computer system was down. There were 3 people ahead of us in line. I thought it was no big deal because they could do everything on paper...we've had this exact problem before with another company. We waited in line for about 45 minutes and there was still another person ahead of us AND the couple currently at the counter! I appreciate that the employee was taking his time with everyone and explaining EVERYTHING thoroughly, but by now there were probably 8-10 people in line. No one ahead of us had reservations, so he couldn't even really quote them an accurate price OR rent them a car! I had pre-checked in and was ready to go. It was VERY frustrating. At one point someone from the back came out to speak to an irate customer behind me. My thought was...why aren't YOU HELPING get people through the line? We ended up calling the hotel shuttle and leaving. We had to come back in the morning to get our car. I relayed the experience of the previous night. There were no apologies, no offer to upgrade us or even give us a free day. Nothing. I was shocked. That's just bad customer service. Our vacation was now delayed by half a day because of this and no one could even apologize? They ended up upgrading us after my husband said it was ridiculous that they weren't going to do anything after all the inconvenience we had been through. We got our car, which was very nice, but the 2 fobs were permanently hooked together. This was a HUGE inconvenience! First, the blob of keys were HUGE. Second, even though both of us were permitted to drive, we always had to make sure to pass the gigantic blob of keys back and forth. The return process was pretty simple, thankfully. The price was also pretty reasonable. I'm not sure if I would use them again. Maybe.

After furiously arguing and pleading, and being repeatedly told that NO OTHER RENTAL COMPANY will rent a van to anyone under 25, I literally walk to the next booth at hertz and pay a small underage driver free to rent the van. When we arrived at the Alamo counter, we were upgraded to an SUV from a full-size car at no charge. The car was very clean and performed excellently. We returned it with a full tank and the charges were exactly what had been quoted when we made a reservation. BTW, don't pay for the Canadian auto insurance coverage (which is very expensive) if you have a major U. S. auto insurer (we have GEICO); liability and comprehensive coverage is automatically extended to rental cars in Canada.

It is my first time to rent a car in local airport and use it for travelling to Banff and Jasper, though I have already had some experience of renting cars in Toronto. I would say this is a perfect car-renting experience at Alamo. Three days before my trip, I still can find a competitve rate at Alamo website. And then when I have concerns about rental insurance and policies, I called Alamo and the staff is very patient and kind to answer each of my questions. When I arrived at YYC, I headed to the Alamo office and found that the process is very simple, and finaaly I got a Intermediate car, Kia Forte 2020. Very sharp red color with all useful fucntions, very comfortable and spacious seating. Last but not least, when I returned the car to the airport parking lot, another staff guided me to the destination. The final inspecction is also simple, provided I have the gas fully filled. I appreciate that Alamo provide such a wonderful car renting experience for me, and I dfinitely will choose Alamo again next time when I come to Calgary.

Horrible company to deal with… upon initial inspection there was extremely minimal scratch on windshield and a minor scratch on front bumper. When dropping off the car they said I was on the hook for replacing entire windshield. Could not convince the rep otherwise and I was in a rush he said the next steps were to deal with customer service to refute the claim. They charged my credit card and I’ve called numerous times unable to get ahold of customer service. Absolutely go with other rental agencies and avoid Alamo like you would avoid a pandemic.

I’ve been renting cars from them few times now. Never had big problem, only few little things. But, this time they mess up bad. I booked a large 7 seats SUV long time ago, I need the large vehicle space. Then on the day of pick up I pick up time is at 12pm, I was there on time and complete the paperwork pretty fast. Then I was told to wait, they will come and get me shortly to my SUV. Then after half hour, I was still waiting so I wouldn’t find anyone around the desk. Finally someone comeback and told me the manager knows you are here so just wait. That was weird but I waited for another 20 mins. I was running late for my appointment so I had to check with them again and this time I ask to see the manager. The manager showed up and tell me sorry we don’t have the vehicle you booked. I asked why wasn’t I told 50 mins ago, I could go to another car rental place. Then his answer shocked me, we just don’t know we don’t have it and we are not sure when it’s coming back. You can take a small car if you want and whenever the large SUV is back I can let you know. At this point they just lost the credibility. Seriously I won’t be surprised if I don’t keep ask them they will keep me wait in the airport until the sun goes down. In the end I just cancelled my booking with them and call Routes. They sent a car to pick me up from Alamo in 3 mins, when get to their office the SUV is ready for me and I was on my way in 10 mins. So next time before you make your booking with Alamo, enterprise in YYC check Routes first, better price better customer service.

My fiance and I recently rented a car for the first time from Alamo, at the Calgary Airport. We had reserved the car through a third-party website, which in my experience with hotels can sometimes cause the employees to be a little snarky and say "Next time book directly with us", but it could not have been further from the truth in this case. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Similarly we had our own insurance policy, which again I thought would mean a lecture on why we should have got theirs instead, but I was fortunately proven wrong for the second time that day. I had checked in to their website prior to arrival, but still expected a fair amount of paper work and such before we could get the car, but the gentleman working handed us the keys within sixty seconds of having walked up to the counter. After a brief but thorough inspection of the car with another employee, we were on our way. Had it not been for that inspection we would have probably been charged for some prior damage which had been done to the car but wasn't recorded. A week later when we dropped the car off it was equally painless, with equally friendly and efficient staff. I didn't catch anyone's name, but of the four Alamo employees I dealt with, each one was absolutely fantastic!

The staff are very nice and I love it when they give a bottle of water when we check in. The major downside this time was that when we got in the car it had a strong smell of curry. We thought it would dissipate over time but unfortunately it seemed to grow stronger as the vehicle warmed up. This smell was so strong and pervasive our eyes watered, our clothes smelled, our guests commented on it when they entered the car. The smell in the trunk was so strong the lot attendant, when we returned the car, said it made his eyes water. Unfortunately, from being in this rental vehicle my coat will need to be dry-cleaned, our luggage smelled so bad that we had to leave them outside as they brought the smell into our home when we brought our luggage in!! It was overwhelming. This smell must have been noticed by your staff when they were bringing the vehicle to the airport to be rented. It should not have been rented out until that smell was completely gone. The smell from the rental vehicle had a negative impact on our time in Calgary as it permeated everything we wore, everywhere we went and we are still dealing with it several days later.

I normally rent with Alamo, especially in the US. Everything went fine except that we were a little disappointed with the car since we were expecting a Grand Cherokee (or similar) and ended up with an Equinox. Not similar in my book. Also surprised that in a winter climate, we were told that we should have reserved with winter tires in advance, did not see that in the list of options. In the end, all went well even though we got caught in a couple of minor storms during our week in the mountains.

Overcharged us for premium location charge. On the contract it was $12 they charged us $55 when we handed in the car. The only charges they had previously advised us of was $28 per day for upgrade, $8 per day excess charge. No mention of any other hidden additional charges such as this. Manager was very unhelpful and unbothered. Disappointing considering how much we have paid and how good an experience we had with National on the first leg of our trip with free upgrades and no additional charges.

Worst experience we've ever had with a car rental agency!!! We booked a car online for pickup two weeks ahead (at the downtown Calgary location) and when we got there, it said the location was closed (we booked for 3pm) even though when we booked we checked online and it said the location would be open until 4 pm. We called their customer service but they were completely useless and said they couldn't do anything and told us to go to their airport location. We had to pay $40 for a taxi from the Calgary airport to the downtown location to pick up this car and now we had to pay another $40 to go back to the airport for a solution. When we got to the airport location, the workers were so incompetent and didn't know how to deal with this. They called the manager and the manager didn't even bother listening to our problem, he said he can't do anything for us and cut the call very abruptly. Now we were stranded at the airport without a rental car and were on phone with their customer service for an hour trying to find a solution and all they said they could do was "raise a complaint". They said they would call us back within a day and it has been one week since and still no call. This whole situation was entirely their fault since they shouldn't have even allowed us to book a car at a time when the location is closed and on top of that their customer service was the worst I've ever come across in my entire life!

Hi: I have just started using Alamo in Calgary for the 2nd time. The 1st was in Dec.2015 and I just rented for the week of May 18-25th. I used to use Budget but when I started using Alamo I was impressed with the service and Alamo honoring my request for a Minivan both times as I'm from Sarnia and like to travel with my family and grandchildren. I always deal with George by phone and his service is impeccable. Also impressed this time with a young lady who took me to my car and checked it out. Never seen this before! I trust you heavily charge those who smoke in the vehicle! Thanks again for excellent service and nearly new vans. I highly recommend Calgary Alamo!

This was the initial 1-star review: At the end of November I made a reservation for my family's first ski trip in the Rockies. I booked an SUV and called the Calgary location the same day, to request winter tires and a ski/ roof rack. This was noted in my reservation and I was promised both. As a precaution I called yesterday - now that we're only two weeks away and getting pretty excited - and was told that, no, I would have neither racks or winters. I could though have the option of upgrading to a bigger vehicle if I liked, for double the price! No other solutions were offered. To add insult to injury the location manager, who was apparently too busy to talk to me at the time, never called me back. Enterprise/ Budget/ Avis, anything except Alamo next time! Addendum, bumped up to 3-stars: So we're back from our trip and it worked out great. After posting my review I was contacted by Alamo and long-story-short the staff in Calgary made it right... I was upgraded, and the racks and tires I'd initially been promised were on the vehicle. It's too bad the booking people don't know what vehicles can ACTUALLY be outfitted with accessory gear but I suspect that's true across the board for all rentals.

Comparison with Hertz - I spent a week in Calgary for a business trip and had hertz for the first half and hertz for the second. Alamo was above and beyond. First time rental = free upgrade and 15$ return when I dropped it off. EVERY employee was exceptionally kind, no rush, customer oriented service despite them being a liability. Hertz were rude, threatening and hounds for more unnecessary packages, very unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with. Screw your hertz points, I promise you will have a better experience with Alamo

Had an awesome experience! Pick up was pretty simple and the car was meticulously clean both in and out. We enjoyed the car as it had only 4k on it and it was great. They were out of full size vehicles but they let us take an SUV. Return was straight forward and the agent was not nit-picky at all. All I asked for were snow tires on the car I was renting. Corporate Alamo asked me to call the specific branch close to when I was picking the car up and they would be able to help me. The Calgary branch could not help me when I called. This practice puts the drivers at risk. It is dangerous and unlawful to drive without snow tires in parts of Alberta and British Columbia in the winter.

Generally rent from Alamo whenever I can. I was pleased to learn that Alamo has a location at the Victoria Airport. Though off-site, this is not a problem. I have rented from other companies in the terminal and spent far more time getting a car than this took being off-site. The shuttle service is excellent, phoned for pick up and the driver was to the terminal in less than 5 minutes. When we arrived at the rental agency, our car was ready to go, paperwork was waiting, just had to sign and go. Staff are excellent to say the least, probably the best customer service I have experienced in over 100 rentals. Keep up the great service guys!!

The rental experience was overall very good. We did have to wait for a car after doing the paperwork but it was no more than about 20 minutes. The return process was very efficient. Car was clean and ran perfectly.

Had to wait a bit yesterday for the car but the SUV was brilliant - clean and new and drove like a dream I didn’t want to bring it back. Service always friendly - you guys do a great job. Thanks Alamo!

We rented from Alamo at Calgary airport and it was fine until we had a flat tire on the way back. This was when our nightmare began, we tried to change the flat, the locking lug nut was no where to be found, making it impossible to change the tire. We called roadside assistance, however they also did not have the key and were flabbergast that Alamo didn’t have it in the rental car. In the end, we spent too many wasted hours on the freeway, were late for the plane back to Vancouver, costing us 3 cancellations and we had to pay out of pocket to book a new flight which ended up costing $1,400 extra dollars. The roadside assistance ended up taking the vehicle back, and we were still charged our rental fees. Beautiful rockies trip ended up on a very sour note.

Got a much better price direct than through 'discount' sites. Check in and out were excellent. All the staff were professional and friendly. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Got a double upgrade from a Chrysler 300 to an Audi Quatro 5 SUV at no additional charge. Turned out to be very helpful as we drove several hundred kilometers by dirt road in lovely comfort and had great power on mountain roads. 5% discount if you sign up.

Quick check in process without having to have extras pushed on me. Car was a pretty new Ford Fusion, top end model with heated/cooled leather seats. Car was waiting for me right in front. Easy return process. I've used Alamo many times before and they have always been better than the others. Would recommend.

There were some positives and negatives to my rental with Alamo Calgary Airport. Quick service, easy booking. The Agent I met didn't do a walk around with me or even take the time to show me the vehicle, different than I am used to but just figured they were efficient. My weekend went fine with no incidents and I returned the rental. I was contacted later stating that I damaged the bumper and that there were scratches on the vehicle. I never saw the bumper damage and did note the scratches on the car but assumed they were from a previous rental as these companies typically do not maintain or repair minor damage. They charged me $2100 for what they called a very economical repair. Do not rent from these people...if you do watch your back. Never Alamo again!

Almost all of the times we've rented from Alamo it has been a positive experience. The only reason we didn't give a five star review is because there's always remove for improvement.
