I hope the business bureau shuts this company down. This should be illegal to be running scams and treating their customers with such poor attitude. I would gladly pay 3x more instead of ever dealing with such rude behaviour.
TOTAL SCAMMERS! The worst experience I've ever had in my lifetime of traveling and reading all of these terrible reviews that I can relate to, I'm not sure how these men are still in business with all of the disrespect and scams they are putting travellers through. Do not trust them when they tell you to pay extra for insurance. They are also not located in the airport and will rudly argue with every fact you say. Their prices are completely decieving. Save yourself the headache and the money. There's many other cheap car rental places that are legitimate and professional.
Absolutely horrible customer service! Our flight from Vancouver was delayed 1 hour. Upon arrival, the rental car agent argued with me and decided to cancel my reservation. Luckily, I was able to find a very professional employee at ALAMO rental agency and was able to drive away on moments notice. ZERO stars for Ace Rent a Car! Close your doors - your previous reviews are a testament to your business practices!
Great and quick service from the team that morning when I picked up the car. Likewise the guy that I returned the car was quick and helpful. The car smelled brand new and the whole experience has made me want to come back to this location again!
Extremely rude people work at this location. They will force you to buy unnecessary car insurance and when you decide to cancel the reservation they will make you wait a long time before returning you to the airport.
I just want to say that everything went smoothly with getting our rental car. The car is absolutely great. Also, having a free shuttle, from them, saves us money from going to their rental location and back to airport and the staff are nice. Thank you.

I’ve rented a car for 4 days and 3 nights for Banff trip. I don’t know why people are so mean on the review section. Our experience was so nice with the 2021 Corolla they offered. Just recommend that you should remember bringing your insurance to save a little bit more.
I was surprise that they had shuttle service as i though the rental was at the airport. Car was in good condition, went around for defects with them and interior was clean. The staff was polite. Everything went smoothly

THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD. As soon as we walked in, these people were incredibly rude. We already had a booking for a certain price and they tried to convince us there were more fees associated with our booking, and that we HAD to pay insurance meanwhile we already had insurance. In my experience of renting with many different car rentals around the world, I've never had anyone force me to buy insurance as it's not mandatory. We called the front guy out for trying to scam us and he became so disrespectful. His attitude was poisonous and will put him out of business soon. Do not give these SCAM ARTISTS your money. Oh and they're not even located in the airport as they advertise. FILTHY, ROTTEN ROACHES.

Bad customer service and were rude. Not knowledgeable about rental car industry as they stated, "no rental service will rent a car out to a 21 year old." We proceeded to book a rental car with Enterprise 5 minutes later. Note: don't book through 3rd party website or they will be mad (the employees talked down to both us and the woman before us about booking through a third party)
I wish I could rate this company lower than a 1. Poor customer service. Rude and very unprofessional. Expensive company. They also charge for mileage, its not unlimited so keep that in mind when booking. Unauthorized charges to my credit card by them! Slow to pick you up from the airport. I'd suggest looking for another vehicle rental company.
I just had the worst car booking experience with ACE Rent a Car. I would give ZERO stars if I could. My friends and I had a reservation; when we called to arrange to be picked up from the airport, we were informed they had given our car away and cancelled our reservation without notifying us. (Not a call or email or anything), and they hang up on us. As a result, we had to find a last-minute car reservation that costed us almost 3x more than what we had initially paid with ACE. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!
Rented a car through expedia in March for August. When I went to pick it up I was told that I cancelled the car 2 months ago. However this is not possible as it was vital transportation for me and I would never cancel it. I was being falsely accused of cancelling it. I had originally rented the car for $200/4days but now they were asking me for $1200/4days. Avoid them at all costs.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY - Rude and unprofessional Booked a car rental for 6 days and paid in full on July 7th. Called the rental company and spoke to customer service on August 6th to make amendments to the pick up time which was never changed on my reservation. Upon arrival in Calgary for our trip we called for our shuttle and we were told that there was no longer a car available because we didn't show up within 30 min of our estimated pick up time. This particular weekend there was not a single rental car to be found and shuttles were limited. Nobody called to follow up and they refused to refund our money saying we were a no show even though we paid in full for our car for 6 days. Upon making the reservation it initially states that pick up is at the airport, once you book and receive your confirmation, it then states you are required to call and arrange shuttle pick up and the location is 10-15 minutes away. I received my confirmation email, printed my confirmation. I also called to confirm, ensure the documents I had regarding insurance were in order and update my pick up time and they still didn't have a car available. I believe they are a SCAM.
Booked a van a month prior to my trip but the day I arrived someone supposedly canceled my booking even tho no one had my confirmation number but me, went there to ask for a anything at all but they said they have none. Don’t bother to call because customer service is atrocious.
I wish this could be 0 stars. The worst customer experience I have ever received. ACE gave my reservation away without notifying me, which directly violates the 4 hour grace period policy listed on their website. When I called to speak to a customer service representative, the first guy was rude but the manager Max was even worse- extremely rude and unprofessional. Calgary Airport Location. He audibly laughed at me and told me "Good luck finding a car. There is nothing left in this city." They should be embarrassed that a manager treats customers this way. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! Hope nobody else has to endure this!
I rented a car. I showed up at airport at shuttle area.. Was left hanging, I called the rental company they were closed. Called back was talked to rudely by the man he said he would call someone to come in to come get me.. but also told me it was way after hours and may take time. I called him back to see if he got me a ride he was rude again and tells me to got inside the airport and rent a car from another car rental place. I rented through Economy to book with Ace i still have not got my deposit back My trip was June 30 2021
ACE Rent A Car is not a legitimate rental car service. They are not located at the airport and you have to call them when you arrive. They will pick you up and take you about 15 minutes to the outskirts of town in an industrial park where they will try to scan you into buying insurance well above the required rental car insurance for Canada. If you don't pay the extras high insurance rates, they will refuse to rent a car to you. They are relying on you being stuck there and figuring it is not worth it to argue so you will pay the extra costs. They will look like the cheapest, but they are not in actuality. I wrote definitely recommend avoiding them. They are owned by the same people as Zoom, so avoid them also.
Believe the rest of reviews. Rude service. Hidden fees. Everything you would want in a car rental nightmare.
Wish there was a “zero” star for these folks. These guys are terrible. I tried contacting them to confirm beforehand but the number they provide on Google was for the main HQ contact centre. On that, they promised me two times that there is a 4 hr grace period and my booking will be honoured. Upon reaching within 2 hrs of booking time, they made my booking a no show and cancelled without remorse. Two suggestions - please change your number to Calgary number on Google, and make your 1/2 hr grace period known to all who book through email. Thanks
They gave my car away and cancelled my reservation without notifying me. Because of a flight delay, I arrived 1.5 hours late, and they were closed when I got there. I called the Calgary location and got no answer so I called head office and my call was dropped. I wasn't too worried because the website says if you don't pick up on time, they hold the reservation for 4 hours within their business hours. Well - they DON'T. The next morning I called when they opened to confirm my booking and they told me they cancelled it last night because I was a "no show". I explained my flight delay and was told "flights don't get delayed while in the air - you should have called". I told them their website indicates a 4 hour grace window within their business hours so figured I could pick up the next morning as I was within those time constraints. The guy I spoke to told me to call back in an hour to speak to his manager. That's where things get way worse. Called the Calgary Airport Location and spoke to Max the manager. He did not apologize for cancelling my reservation without notifying me. In fact, he questioned my honesty and told me I lied about my flight delay and asked for my flight number so he could google if it was actually delayed? He then laughed at me and told me I'd never find a car in the city! I asked to speak to someone above him and he said "sure go ahead and make your complaint to head office but nobody will be able to give you a car in this city with such short notice" This is unbelievably poor customer service. Max , you should know that I DID in fact find a car in the city within 10 minutes with Enterprise. Main take away folks - do not rent from this company! Pay a little more and go with a different more reputable place. What a complete disappointment!
Most rude customer service I have ever experienced. My advise - never rent a car from ACE at Calgary location 11124 36 st SE, Calgary, AB. Very unprofessional and rude behavior. Staff demanded liability insurance. When told him is covered under credit card he demanded prove. Eventually refused to rent a car and had no curtesy to provide ride back to airport. Such people should be out of customer service business
