Lacks communication, irresponsible & did not act in the best interest of the client. Had Hugh & McKinnon as my property manager and it cost over $2800 to replace a 40 gal hot water tank. Was advised they used someone they know well and reputable, hence no quote was obtained prior to the job being done nor did they obtaine a competitive quote. When asked how much would the job cost, Debbie, the property manager had no idea and advised to wait for the invoice after completion of work. The hot water tank was invoiced at $1500 where it was sold at Home Depot for just over $500, unbelievable! This is simply not acceptable and up to the industry standard/practice. Spoken with the president of the company, Bruce Robinson, who has not been able to provide any information after 4 weeks. Edit: I did receive the $350 credit from the company, however that was never communicated, which goes to show how bad the management team is. I had to email the accounting assistant to find out why there is a credit. Moreover, by giving me a $350 credit still does not make up for the lack of professionalism and the responsibility of always getting multiple quotations instead of just going with a partner company, especially when you had no idea the cost for the job being done. PS. Even though my work number has changed, my personal contact information remains the same. Debbie left a voicemail on my cell and i returned her call within the hour. Please don't deflect the fact that the property manager messed up, otherwise why would you credit me $350?

Certainly one of the worst management companies I have ever witnessed. They literally have no idea what's going on. They're own staff incorrectly park in the complex with no care for their own rules. They make assumptions rather than deal in real facts. Never hire this company you will seriously regret it.

We rented a home at Crescent Beach listed by Hugh Mckinnon Realty. We had recently sold our home and had never rented before. Geoff was the property manager of the home we chose. Wow!!! What a fantastic experience!!! Geoff was first class and went above and beyond for any issues that arose during our stay. Pilar Osing met my expectations. My expectations weren’t high, I just need agents to act within common sense, but it seems that no one was able to meet it. Pilar assisted the purchase of my house. She was civilized, that’s actually quite a rare find among local agents. She put in my offering prices correctly and expediently. She did not insult parties of visible minorities during the transactions. One thing to improve was about the referral this branch gave me. The lawyers this branch recommended was not good at all.

We've owned a townhouse unit in a complex that Hugh & Mckinnon "manage" for 15 years. If I were able to leave a zero star review I would. This company is a complete joke. When it comes to general repairs, they expect us to pay ridiculous prices while having no transparency as to where they got quotes from or any competitive quotes for said repairs. We pay $370 a month maintenance fees. Our landscapers do and have done a terrible job at maintaining the property for years. Along with other owners, We are seeding and maintaining our own lawns due to the horrible work they do. We have strata members parking in visitor stalls while they tell other owners its not allowed and threatening them with fines and towing. We've been harassed by strata members in the past also and when we brought these issues up to Catherine Muirhead (who works for Hugh & Mckinnon and was in charge of the strata and strata members of our complex) she sent out an email to the strata members calling us names. We actually have a copy of this email as well. We're at the point of getting in touch with a lawyer and taking this situation to another level due to the lack of communication and extreme unprofessionalism from the employees of Hugh & Mckinnon. DO NOT BUY OR RENT ANY UNITS THAT HUGH & MCKINNON MANAGE! Like I had mentioned, they are a complete joke of a company and will not address any issues you may have with your home or strata but happily hand you their overpriced "maintenance" and "repair" bills.

Literally nowhere to be found when home owners make requests like home improvements and things of that sort, but very quick to try to implement bs fines by sticking their noses where they don't belong. Avoid buying strata units that these scams manage
