I used to walk to 2nd Cup Coffee shops on my work breaks from king street, until I discovered the shop has a back door that leads to this fantastical courtyard. It's off of Grannan Lane- a charming side street made of bricks. It doesnt look like you can drive on it, but you can. It's the cutest little road that has "hidden gems" all the way up and down, and leads to "secret" paths so u can get around easier. It's becoming less of a secret now, and getting more and more popular- the whole area is referred to as "The Hub" It's located in Saint John's historic district. Saint John was Canada's 1st city- therefore the oldest- most of the buildings are practically unchanged since their construction test-fire of 1887, and many survived the fire such as The Saint John City Market, and all of the churches. If you watch Murdoch Mysteries, and then walk outside uptown you'll feel like you're on the set! ????
