Would not recommend using Brenda Calder as your agent. I noticed almost all the reviews started to come in after one review was critical of Brenda’s performance. Even the agent herself rating her own business. One review wishing to rate 10 stars and then mentioning to the critical reviewer that she should have taken in her grandparents to her place and just go out and get replacement meds for them after the deal fell through? Is that what should happen during a successful real estate deal? Are you familiar with their house or their medication? Do you even know if they live in the same town/province? Maybe accessibility issues such as stairs, bathrooms, sleeping arrangement etc may have been a factor? Easy to blame the financial company as was the case, but shouldn’t the agent have done their job and ensured that payment was secured well in advance so that a deal doesn’t fall through when the sellers are in the middle of moving? “It is what it is” and “in the end financing went through” (almost 2 weeks later) isn’t really flattering comments used to describe an agents performance when someone’s biggest investment fell through halfway through loading a moving truck when the agent is paid to make sure it doesn’t. You would think that one of the first things an agent looks for in a buyer for their seller is if the buyer actually has enough money to make the purchase well in advance? If there are any finical issues, should that not be addressed earlier and not discovered on moving day? You could also ask any other agent or friend if they feel real estate deals falling through during moving day after a 1 year closing date is normal practice and happens all the time? You’re right an apology is in order and it should be from Ms Brenda Calder to the “gals” grandparents for putting them through a terrible experience that was supposed to be an exciting day for them to move to their new home. Happy new year!

I made an appointment with Elda Pirie to look at a cottage at 4861 HWY 28 N for today. Drove 2.5 hours from the Toronto area and my sister drove 3 hours from Ottawa and Elda didn’t show up! No phone calls or messages. When I finally got a hold of her, there was no apologies just “I had computer issues so my mind wasn’t in it”. We left not being able to look at the cottage! Very unprofessional, and she probably still thinks she deserves her commission.

Brenda Calder, is incompetent, unprofessional, and untrustworthy. Brenda was my grandparents’ realtor when selling their home. They required a year-long closing from the date of sale, and Brenda presented them with an offer. Over and over we were told, this is a good offer, no conditions, etc. etc. etc. One year later, on moving day, the buyer did not have the funds secured to purchase my grandparents property. What kind of realtor accepts an offer without ensuring financing is available? We were lied to repeatedly, never received an apology, and my grandparents were left with two properties. After eleven days, the original buyer of their home was able to secure financing. We have been told this happens all the time, and that deals fall apart on moving day regularly. My grandparents’ belongings were on a moving truck and they were forced to live out of boxes with the bare necessities in their home for 5 days, as a result of the deal falling apart at 930 am on moving day. These are 80 year old seniors, with many comorbidities, who require a variety of equipment and medication to function on a day to day basis. We are fortunate that they survived this ordeal, and want others to be aware. We were told by her office manager that the buyer and lawyers were working diligently to secure funds and close the deal. The deal had been signed for a year! Brenda will leave you vulnerable to situations such as this. Do not trust her. Her license should be revoked and she should be ashamed of her behaviour.

Brenda Calder assisted us in purchasing some land in the Norwood area. My wife originally met her and she wanted to deal with her as she was so helpful in the Norwood office. Our deal was processed very efficiently and is now closed. Thanks to Brenda for her professionalism and efficiency in getting this deal done...all electronically and in the comfort of our own home. I would recommend Brenda to anyone interested in property/real estate in the Kawartha Lakes/Norwood areas.

If you are looking to buy a cottage in the Kawartha's lakes , I would suggest you stay away from Ball Realestate listings . We just closed on property and our concerns were just brushed off when we got close to the closing date as well as after our closing . I discussed my concerns today with Mr Greg Ball and he abruptly ended our conversation . Tell me Mr Ball if you treat us like that and we purchased a 1 million dollar plus property from one of your listings, how will you treat every one else? . I am very sorry to hear you had to discount your over inflated commission cheque .

An enormous vote of praise and confidence for Brenda Calder! My better half and I (who would soon become my fiance) had decided we were long overdue to purchase a home in the Norwood/Hastings area. We worked through a list of locations that interested us and were put at ease with Brenda's experience, honest opinion and professionalism throughout the entire process. During what is supposed to be the most stressful occasion of a young couples life, we felt nothing but excited anticipation on getting into a house we immediately fell in love with. If there were any bumps in the road during this process, they were so small and so insignificant that they were easily overcome, and are now long forgotten. Brenda did a fantastic job of making the process simple for us, she was always upbeat, professional and most importantly on our side. Hi BALL Real Estate INC - regarding Ms Brenda Calder - too bas we couldnt give 10 STARS, as we would. ... I saw a post here that has me very puzzled about Ms Brenda Calder. we had Brenda represent us when we bought our rural property over 3 years ago and she was fantastic and did an upstanding job. she drove all over the place for us. when we bought the listing brokerage was different from us having Brenda, so, we knew that would probably be split 50/50 between the 2 brokerages. because brenda drove everywhere, we wanted to top her up with a gift of $500 for her gas and where and tear. she'd have no part of that and told us that was her job. FANTASTIC. the gal that posted about the disqualification of the buyer in the last minute ... maybe those comments should be directed to where they belong ... against the finance company or source not the realtor. it is what it is and my wife and I believe it is well misplaced. if she was so worried about her grandparents, maybe she should have had them stay with her. it is easy enough to get replacement meds too, just ask your doctor. in the end, the financing went thru. we believe an apology is definitely due here. thanks for your time ...
