We chose Peter because of his extensive experience, his willingness to answer our millions of questions, and his personable demeanor - all important things to think about when you're about to spend a lot of time with someone. What we got in return was what we hoped for and more. We threw him curve balls and fast balls and he handled it with grace and humour. He never made me feel bad for not understanding something or revisiting something repeatedly. He was always on the ball with viewings, getting us in very quickly knowing the windows were small (pun not intended). He taught us so much and we took that knowledge to every viewing we went to, feeling more confident every time. He re-assured us when we were anxious - and there many of those moments. He asked us questions, getting to know us and our preferences. We always felt like he was present and engaged anytime he was with us, even though we knew he was working with multiple people. That he can provide this level of service to multiple people simultaneously is impressive. Something that has stayed with me is deep gratitude for working with someone who is honest, ethical, and excellent. He never broke the soft or hard rules of his industry, unlike some RSA's you may read about in the news trying to take advantage of the market. If we asked him a question we didn't know at the time wasn't his to answer, he sent us in the right direction. We never once felt like he cared about what he might get out of it (or even that he needed it), only that we got what we wanted and did so with smart and practical decision making. He's in it because he loves it, and it's obvious. I wanted to rate him four stars just to troll him, but decided against it. Oh, and we got a great house - something we weren't even sure we could get when we started this process.

Well, for us (and in full transparency,) Peter's son and mine are friends, so we've already known Peter for years and have long established that he's a solid person as a human. You might not care about whoever you deal with so long as they can get you what you want, but I prefer to work with people and friends who value doing things with integrity. And that's where Peter shines. He took care of us absolutely every step of the way, not just because he already knew us, but because that's just the way he runs his business. If buying a home for the first time is not complicated enough, imagine buying out of province, from the other side (Vancouver), without knowing anybody in Ottawa! It is a challenging idea, but thanks to Peter Twolan, he made purchasing a home across the country like a walk in the park! When I did my research on Ottawa's real estate back in September, I came across Peter's website. After filling my contacts info and hit the send button, he called me within 30 minutes. He showed a great deal of enthusiasm and energy, we were literally intrigued by it. I said to myself, here is a man who really wants our business. We slept on the idea of buying a home in Ottawa for a month and then contacted Peter for new listings. He promptly signed me up for MLS listings that matched my search criteria and automatically get sent to my inbox. A month later I contacted Peter to inform him of our arrival to Ottawa on Thanksgiving weekend to view some properties we liked, with little time for him to react. But that was no problem for Peter. He showed up on Saturday with an organized list of 20 properties for viewing on the same day! Freeing Sunday for us to rest and explore Ottawa. Peter helped us with negotiating the price to our liking after our return to Vancouver. He also helped us finding a lender, a home inspector, and a real estate attorney. We truly believe we wouldn't have been able to buy a home in Ottawa if it would not have been for Peter Twolan.
