He was quite new to the game, and I believe we were on "opposite" sides of a transaction. It became obvious to both of us very quickly that we had very compatible styles and beliefs, that the client came first, and it's always better to find ways to make things work than to show off how smart you are at creating problems. My husband and I happened upon Marnie and John purely by chance. We came to the city with 1 week to find and buy a house and were fantastically unprepared. We did not know for sure if we wanted to rent or buy, had no idea what neighbourhoods to consider or amenities we wanted nearby. (A family friend had referred us a new realtor who sent us every single listing within our price range, ignoring what we were actually looking for in a home. It was overwhelming and unproductive, so we ended our relationship.) Later that day, we ran into Marnie and John in an open house. We were struck by how easy it was to talk to them; Marnie actually listened to what we were looking for and only sent us listings that met that criteria. Through the process, she got to know us and was able to provide recommendations based off of where we wanted to end up. Being brand new to the city, that was invaluable. Marnie's easy-going demeanor made the process effortless. We were fully confident in her abilities, which took off so much of the stress associated with purchasing a new home. Summary: As a home buyer, we mostly worked with Marnie, and at times, John, We did not meet Danielle. I would highly recommend working with them as they are always available to answer questions, educate you on the home buying process, and truly go above and beyond Our story: I heard about Marnie through word of mouth in 2019. When I met her and John, I was delighted at how they listened to our wants/needs/timelines, told us what was possible. When we didn't find something in time for our personal needs, Marnie found us a lovely place to rent. She let us get settled, and we started house hunting. In January 2020, we bought a townhouse as part of a small construction project that we absolutely loved (planned to be built for Fall 2021). Unfortunately, we learned on Christmas Eve of 2020 of indicators that the project was failing due to COVID-19. Marnie and John were quick to take our call, even during the holidays, and to discuss about our next steps. Ultimately, we decided to back out and look for an already built home. Thanks to them, we were able to make an informed decision. Marnie was quick to help us get back on our feet and start looking for something again. The plan was for it to be better than the one we had previously bought, so that we would have no regrets. The standards were high, as we loved the previous location, size, floorplan style, etc. Yet, she did it! We went through a large amount of relevant listing, visited many houses (and a few with John as well). Once we found THE house for us, Marnie even let us see it a second time to make sure we were comfortable with going forward with our offer. This time, we visited the home with John so that we would get both of their opinions. We put in our offer, and we got the house :) Marnie/John went above and beyond the home buying process. They shared their network so that we could get setup with fantastic mortgage broker, lawyer and home inspector. Marnie also helped us u navigate giving our notice from our rental property during a pandemic. She let us know of our rights, proposed a plan, and reassured us as we were originally concerned about having people coming into our home/visit during COVID-19. We have been in our new home for nearly a month now, and we could not be happier! If we had to do this again, we would chose Marnie and John again in a heartbeat.

Dishonest and Manipulative I recently worked with John toward buying a Condo. Unfortunately my experience working with him was unpleasant and unsuccessful. Over all I found him dishonest and manipulative. He was less concerned about my interests than his own. After a few showings he was rather impatient to make me close a deal and did not hesitate to manipulate toward doing so.
