Richard recently assisted me in selling my home in Canmore. I would certainly recommend Richard to others, albeit with a few caveats. On the plus side, Richard is extremely friendly and courteous. He also has a good handle on the Canmore market and, indeed, was influential in me selling my home for considerably more than another realtor wanted me to list it at. Moreover, he in no way pressured me to accept the first offer I received and, if anything, encouraged me to wait for a better price which I eventually did get. On the minus side, I would first note that Richard went out of town quite often while we were working together and didn't always notify me that someone else would be looking after me. I would also note that I previously listed the house with Richard while it was rented out and I was living out of town. I received no offers during that time and, once the tenants were out, I could see/smell why. When I told Richard the tenants were leaving, he did mention to me at that time that the place needed some attention, but I really wish he would have said something earlier. On a slightly different subject, I'd also note that Richard publishes on his web site an informative summary of each month's sales activity so, if you're looking to get up to speed on the Canmore market, I'd strongly encourage you to bookmark his blog.

We first contacted Richard about three years ago to gain some insight into the potential sale of our condo in Canmore. He willingly came over to meet us, walk through our condo and discuss the market, despite the fact he knew we probably wouldn’t be ready to pull the trigger for another year or so. That year turned into two more due to Covid (we’re US citizens so couldn’t get into Canada) so when we finally got back to Canmore, we were ready. I can’t say enough good things about working with Richard. He has a pleasant, calming demeanor which, when coupled with his deep knowledge of the market, proves invaluable. He listens, which is always important to any client, and offers practical solutions to concerns. He is responsive and helpful in that he handled a couple of repairs that had to be done after we returned to the States, and he provided excellent referrals for a closing attorney and accountant. In short, he made our sale and closing a breeze for us. We can’t recommend Richard enough and are sure, whether buying or selling, you will be in good hands.
