Renting with Judy Lindsey has been a daunting experience. We took over a sublet for 3 months, paid the deposit and when the 3 months were done they refuse to return our security deposit. The property manager made several claims and excuses on why they won't return the deposit, the main one being that we signed a contract to have the lease auto-renew for another year but they are not able to provide any documentation to prove this. We just needed a place to stay for 3 months and we made that very clear! The old property manager conveniently does not work there anymore and the new property manager is rude and claims that she does not know what happened since she was not there. I don't ever give negative Google reviews, in fact this is the first time I'm doing this. But this experience has been horrible, dealing with unprofessional property managers who can't seem to back up any of their claims.

Dealing with a realtor isn't something everybody does, and it's easy to disregard it or scoff at their presence if you don't know any better. In the age of information it's easy to look at stuff on your own but looks can be deceiving as well as really knowing what is out there. I didn't know any better at the start and approaching a realtor was definitely out of my comfort zone. JLT definitely lives up to it's reputation, and they learn about you and ultimately your drive to find a home. Every realtor has the algorithm, but JLT manages to walk you through the process with complete transparency (and patience), listened carefully but also matched my energy when it came to looking at homes. I told the realtor to be blunt about it, and they didn't hold back, much to my benefit. No blind leaps of faith I definitely dodged a lot of land mines in neighborhoods I liked. Because of their help, I look forward to the next chapter in my life as a new home owner.
