3rd time back to Thermea. Love the experience. So clean, quiet, relaxing. We embraced the polar plunge this visit...got super hot and sweaty in their multiple saunas and hot tub (39C) then went right into Polar Plunge pool (15C). Lovely and refreshing. Ate light breakfast and lunch there too. Lunch was the cheese plate and bacon, mushroom, provolone burger. Service was above excellent and the food exceptional. Pricey but worth this occasional indulgence. We spent all day and went home relaxed...had the best sleep in a long time.

We were passing through Kenora on our way home from thunder Bay, stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at how helpful the staff was, reasonable prices and a great selection of local draft beer. I can guarantee that we'll be back the next time we are out that way.

The Cornerstone is a casual restaurant in the main business area of Kenora. It is located inside an historic looking building and overlooks the harbour front. I enjoyed lunch here during a day trip to Kenora on July 27, 2020, and ordered the Beets and Sweets Salad Bowl. It tasted incredible! I also enjoyed their red sangria. They had other plant based options including a veggie burger and different salad varieties. There was seating inside and outside on the patio looking out to the harbour front. We had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table during the busy lunch time which wasn’t bad. The service was friendly and prompt. Really enjoyed my experience eating here and would return!

I had the surf'n'turf last night an although it was pricey????, the servings were generous. The fish was well cooked, my steak was grilled perfectly at medium rare an there was a generous helping of perfectly cooked veggies an fries????.. I'd recommend to anyone that wants a good meal without the cooking at home.. ????????????

Love this place. The dishes all have that little something special about them and are reasonably priced. You can eat out back, on the outdoor patio with a view of the beautiful Kenora Bay and watch all the passersby make their way through this shopping district. Service was great and we have enjoyed lots of great lunches with friends here.

This is our very first time in Kenora. We popped in to check it out. The view is amazing on the patio. The food was beyond what we could have ever desired. We ordered the cocunot shrimp dinner which was cooked to perfection. We also order a routine you can tell even with a routine they later out the fries and carefully drizzled the gravy and balsamic vinegar. Which was an unexpected ingredient but you can tell everything way made from the heart. ????????????????????

Fantastic restaurant and my #1 place to eat in Kenora. They have a chicken/bacon/mushroom carbonara that I highly recommend and I hope they never take it off their menu. Cool building and atmosphere. Back patio catches the sunset on summer evenings. Nice cocktails and desserts as well.

Visited Cornerstone on Harbourfest long weekend, our server was super friendly and attentive which really made the experience excellent! Considering our group had 3 kids she did a great job engaging with them. Food came out in reasonable time and was great, no complaints . Will go back again in the future for sure.

Unfortunately after waiting over an hour for food and asking when they thought it might be ready, . their reply was they had no idea when it would be out. A true food review can not be given but a service review would be a definite zero.

We had previously visited this restaurant 4 years ago on a trip to Kenora. We returned with high expectations. The food was decent, but could have used a bit more flavouring for the side dishes. The service was horrendous though and definitely took away from the evening. While there were many servers that walked in and out of the bar area, there was only 1 woman whom was actually serving the dining room. There was only our table and 3 other tables. There was one other table made of up what appeared to be a server off duty or a friend of everyone working there as everyone working there sat down at different times to visit with this girl. The woman whom was the only server actually working the front end, also doubled as bartender and was catering towards her friend and other waitresses and cooks whom came to sit at the same table right beside the bar. Our server made drinks for the cook and the girl at the table. Kind of weird... cause I didn’t think drinking on the job was allowed regardless if on a break. He still wore a cooking uniform and returned to the kitchen after finished his drink. So because our waitress was so busy serving her friend and colleagues, she failed to check in on us and didn’t bring out our starter soups. While she tried to offer compensation and asked if my husband and I still wanted our soups with our meal, it didn’t appear to be very sincere when I expressed my displeasure with a rather short response of ‘no thank you’ and a bit of an unpleased glare. She walks over to her friend and starts whispering in her ear while looking over at our table. Totally unprofessional, and quite rude when it’s quite obvious she was talking about us. In the end our drinks were comped, but this was a horrible experience compared to our last one so we won’t be back here ever again if we are in Kenora. We would have been better off going back to LOTW brewery, where both the service and food was above and beyond excellent in comparison.

My significant other and I brought our friends out for dinner as they were visiting Kenora for a quick trip. I suggested the Cornerstone and everyone was extremely happy at the end of the meal. We had excellent service from the moment we walked in. The drinks were delicious and came quickly. I recommended that everyone should get the “famous” Cornerstone salad as a starter, and everyone enjoyed it so much they even bought a jar of the homemade salad dressing to take home! Everyone had large entrees with different proteins and everything was cooked to perfection. The portions were very big and really reasonably priced for what we received. We sat on the back patio and the twinkle lights topped the whole experience!

Great Food! Unique and exciting specials... the Cajun Ribs are to die for... If you're ordering take out... allow for an extra 30mins from the time they say. Terrible time management when they're busy. Servers are good, but tend to not update you if you're standing there waiting for your order. A "They're just bagging it now" would be fantastic. All in all.. One of the Gems of Kenora.

It was National Indigenous Day and they had burgers and tacos made with bannock bread. Man, was it good. The fried texture of the bread definitely added a twist to the burger with good patty. The hot cumin sauce was a surprisingly flavourful touch.

????????...FIRST IMPRESSIONS...???????? CAN BE MISLEADING A small entrance door leading into a long, thin Dining Room that was beautifully decorated & promised a gastronomic delight....???? We arrived at 11:15am (just after opening time) on a weekday. It was such a beautiful, hot day we adjourned to the Patio at the rear. This deck had an iconic view of mainly a large ???? lot and a restricted one of Kenora Bay. ???????????????????????????????????? After 15 minutes I went inside as the drinks hadn't arrived....???? They hadn't even been poured yet let alone been delivered to us. The Staff were standing around chatting about what they'd been up to over the weekend....so grabbed a Menu to peruse "gobbles". Just before midday I returned to the Bar for a refill and (as we hadn't seen a server yet) got the Bartender to grudgingly take our food order...???? All I can say is that I'm glad we had not made other "concrete plans" for the rest of the day. ⛔????????????????????????????⛔ People outside were starting to get restless when one girl came out & took eight lunch orders & said she would "double check ours". Over the next 45 minutes some punters left which caused chaos when the food actually arrived. Had to laugh at this point BUT did have a little sympathy for the waitress as she was totally out of her depth and had no help....???????? The antics (where's who, what food goes where) reminded me of an episode of "Fawlty Towers" minus John Cleese.....???????????? ???????????????????????????????????? My friends much vaunted "Cornerstone Salad" was not very crisp & the ingredients did not appear to be fresh that day.....???? The portion size was small & one third of the plate was dominated by a large, unheated bread roll.....???? The balsamic reduction, as a dressing, was excellent. It had everything we had been expecting and more.....???????? My local, battered Walleye with salad & sweet potato fries was very tasty. Once again the portion size could have been larger (particularly as we had waited 2+ hours and were ravenous).....???? As both dishes were the same price I think my deal was slightly better BUT we shared anyway. We thought about dessert but, from what we'd seen so far, unanimously decided (like my most of the Patio) to move on. ????......OVERALL THE FOOD......???? WAS JUST ABOUT PASSABLE ???????????????????????????????????????? I can't believe that our experience was normal. Spending $60+ and then waiting two hours for food is an insult.....???????????? THE SERVICE WAS SO SLOW it made ???????? and ???????? look like express trains. ????????...If, for example, you...???????? want to go on the afternoon Boat Cruise you might want to get here for opening time OR..... .....reschedule for the evening ????????......departure.....???????? We were the first ones there. The Restaurant did get "busy but was never heaving" which made you wonder. ???????????????????????????????????????? The Staff (in general) were lazy, aloof and had an attitude....???????????? Maybe the problem was that - at no time - did we notice an Owner, Manager, Captain or senior Staff member take control & "shake the lazy crew from their slumbers". ????????....MANAGEMENT...???????? ????....GET A GRIP !!!....???? I have to review it "as seen". I just hope - for your sake - we had a bad experience and trust you have a better one. ????????...UNFORTUNATELY...???????? FIRST IMMPRESSIONS LAST

Visited Kenora for the first time and decided to try out this spot. The food was delicious and came out relatively quickly. Service was great. The salad was to die for! I had the Almond Crusted Chicken with Lemon Dill Risotto, and my companion had the Chicken and Shrimp Surf and Turf. We were both very satisfied. Definitely recommend!

This place me and my partner stopped at a few times. The patio was my favorite part; had a great view and enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was great. The staff was real friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. On one of our visits we tried the food; I had the mussels and he had the poutine. The mussels were the best I have ever had. They came recommended by some locals and they didn't disappoint. The poutine was good, as far as poutine goes, the balsamic adds to the final touch of flavour. Very quaint and will be back to enjoy another sangria next year.

Whole lotta meh. I should have trusted my suspicions when I discovered that on this fine dining menu one could find both a high priced steak alongside chicken fingers. I ordered the steak. Don't order the steak. In a town such as kenora it bothers me that an independent restaurant in such a grand building and location would offer up a Boston Pizza style menu (there is a BPs half a block away) rather than committing themselves to being something interesting and unique.

Always a popular place for supper and the Cornerstone salad is usually exceptional. The steaks were good last night, tasty and cooked right and s good cut but not exceptional. Probably the best place for a steak in Kenora but not a "Kenwood" class of cut. Service was very good despite the place being full last night. Drinks served quickly as were refills and the meals arrive hot and served to all five of our party within minutes. Cornerstone enjoys a very good location in the downtown core, with plenty of street parking and a lakeside parking lot just down the hill. In warmer months they also have a nice big patio overlooking the Lake. There is a washroom on the main floor but the other two are downstairs a winding stair. Clean and well used. It's a regular "go to" for myself throughout the year. I recommend making reservations for supper as it fills up fast in the busy season. I'd give 4.5 stars if it were an option.

Had a group dinner here with 9 adults and 4 kids. The filet with Oscar sauce was great, and mussels were fantastic. The vegetables were not great, obviously just steamed or microwaved, and the potatoes were equally as mediocre. Decent cocktail list, not a great wine list.

Was searching for good restaurants in kenora and suddenly the indeginous history month celebration menu popped up and it was of cornerstone.they had bannock bread based burger and tacos. Ordered a bannock bbq burger and lotw walleye hannock taco. Bannock is a traditional deep fried flat bread. It's one of the best breads I ever had. It was a very good decision to try the variety dishes.the cumin hot sauce served with the tacos was awesome. The fries where home cut and fresh.

Greatvplace to eat while in Kenora. The fish and chips is a MUST. Best house salad and dressing. Make sure you buy a bottle of their raspberry balsamic vinaigrette. Great staff.

The restaurant was busy and as a result it was about 45 minutes after sitting down before our food arrived, and we were a table of two ordering burgers. It certainly wasn't for lack of effort on the staff either as they were all running around trying to keep up. The BBQ bacon burger was the best burger I've had in a long time. The Caesar salad was excellent and the yam fries were the best I've had ever. I was really surprised at how good the food was, and the prices were quite reasonable. I would definitely return and recommend it, just be mindful there could be a wait. Shortly after we arrived there appeared to be a wait list building just to get a table too.

The food was delicious. I had a Walleye Dinner, which came with a salad and bread roll to start, and served with french fries and veggies. The fish was really good. Breading thin but loaded with dill, and not greasy at all. The Salad, their signature Cornerstone Salad, was spectacular! It came with candied nuts and strawberries, and the dressing was a perfect compliment to it. My partner had a veggie burger, and the pattie was one of the best we've had (we make our own frequently). It tasted of Indian spices, in a warm and pleasant way, and was a perfect match for a burger. The patio seating was comfortable and plenty of space between tables, no noise from other patrons. Service was excellent, with attentive and professional wait staff. I wouldn't hesitate to come again if back in Kenora!
