(Translated) "Unfortunately I had a very bad experience with Mathieu Arseneault." On March 22, 2021, I received a call from Mathieu, real estate broker at Remax. He contacted me because a few days earlier I had visited an apartment in Gatineau, unfortunately, Mathieu made me understand that the apartment that I had visited had been praised. He therefore offers me another apartment which is located in exactly the same building. And this one tells me that the apartments are similar but only with the difference of their size. The apartment he offers me is supposedly bigger than the one I had visited *. He tells me that the apartment is in great demand and that if I wanted to keep a priority place to rent it I was going to have to give him a deposit of $ 400. I then decide to trust him blindly (after all I'm talking to a broker from Remax. And these are supposedly The Number 1 in Quebec). So I made the transfer to him and told him that I will come the next day to sign the lease. Due to an inconvenience I can't show up the next day but make sure to plan with him for next Monday. Monday March 29, 2021, Finally, I get in touch with Mathieu to sign the lease. According to him, since I made him a deposit on the apartment, I was going to have to pay the bill since March 22. I told him that won't be possible since I haven't signed a lease for the apartment yet. So, I didn't have to assume this bill and moreover, I didn't have to transfer hydro Quebec as well. He replied that the lease was just a "piece of paper" and that it was not obligatory to sign it. I refuse and tell him that without my name on the lease, the apartment is not my responsibility. When I arrived at RE / MAX, I was told by his assistant Jessica that the office was closed due to “COVID” and that I would not be able to enter the building. I therefore agree to stay outside with my guide to sign the lease. Mathieu had told his assistant not to have me sign the lease if I did not complete the payment for the apartment ($ 1,700 in all he had already received $ 400 from me so I owed him $ 1,300). Exhausted from all this situation, I transfer the rest of the payment to him and sign the lease for April 1, 2021. April 1, 2021, I finally moved to the apartment he described to me as being exactly the same but just bigger. So this is the first time that I have visited this apartment in question. When I arrive in the apartment, I notice that the accommodation is unsanitary. All the rooms in the apartment are literally dirty; I took pictures and videos of the apartment and sent them to his assistant, after letting her know that I was unhappy. She therefore sent me Mathieu's answer: "He says it washes off and that he has already made a $ 95 discount" (the so-called $ 95 discount was for renting the apartment from the 29th. March which I obviously rejected and accepted to rent it from April 1). According to him, he did me a favor. So I answer "I'll have it painted and I'll send him the invoice, if it costs $ 95 or more we'll see." He calls me back while indicating that he will not paint the apartment and refuses to refund my money. . So following the conversation, I let him know as much as he and his assistant that I will not take the apartment in a bad state and that I will leave them the keys of the apartment in the same place as there. was. * To this day I am still waiting to get my money back. Le 22 mars 2021 , j'ai reçu l’appel de Mathieu ,courtier immobilier chez Remax .Celui-ci me contacte car quelque jours plus tôt j'avais visité un appartement à Gatineau , malheureusement , Mathieu me fait comprendre que l’appartement que j’avais visité avait été loué . Il me propose donc un autre appartement qui se trouve exactement dans le même bâtiment. Et celui-ci me précise que les appartements sont similaires mais seulement à la différence de leur grandeur. L’appartement qu’il me propose est soit disant plus grand que celui que j’avais visité* . Il me dit que l’appartement est en grande demande et que si je voulais garder une place prioritaire pour le louer j'allais devoir lui donner un dépôt de 400$. Je décide alors de lui faire confiance aveuglément (après tout je suis en train de discuter avec un courtier de Remax. Et ceux-ci sont soit disant Les Numéro 1 au Québec ).Je lui ai donc fais le virement et je lui ai dit que je vais venir le lendemain signer le bail. En raison , d’un inconvénient ,je ne peux me présenter le lendemain mais je m’assure de planifier avec lui pour le lundi prochain. Lundi 29 Mars 2021 , Finalement , je rentre en contact avec Mathieu pour signer le bail. Selon ses dires ,puisque je lui ai fait un dépôt sur l’appartement , j’allais devoir assumer la facture depuis le 22 mars . Je lui ai dit que cela ne sera pas possible puisque je n’ai pas encore signé de bail pour l’appartement. Donc, je n’ai pas l’obligation d’assumer cette facture et de plus que je n’avais pas à transférer hydro Québec aussi. Celui-ci me répond que le bail n’est juste qu’un “ bout de papier'' et que ce n'était pas une obligation de le signer . Je refuse et lui dis que sans mon nom sur le bail, l’appartement n’est pas ma responsabilité . À mon arrivé au RE/MAX, Je me fais dire par son assistante Jessica que le Bureau est fermé en raison du “COVID” et que je ne pourrais pas entrer dans l'immeuble. J'accepte donc de rester à l'extérieur avec mon accompagnateur pour signer le bail. Mathieu avait indiqué à son assistante de ne pas me faire signer le bail si je ne complétais pas le paiement pour l’appartement .(1700$ en tout il avait déjà reçu 400$ de moi donc je lui devais 1300$). Épuisé de toute cette situation , Je lui fais le transfert du reste du paiement et signe le bail pour le 1 Avril 2021. 1 Avril 2021 , Je me suis enfin déplace à l'appartement qu'il m'avait décrit comme étant exactement pareil mais juste plus grand . C’est donc la première fois que je visitais cet appartement en question. À mon arrivée dans l’appartement je remarque que le logement est insalubre. Toutes les pièces de l’appartement sont littéralement sales; Jai pris des photos et vidéos de l’appartement et je les ai envoyé à son assistante, après de lui avoir fait part de mon mécontentement. Elle ma transmit donc la réponse de Mathieu : « Il dit que ça se lave et qu’il a déjà fait un rabais de 95$ « ( le soit disant rabais de 95$ c'était pour location de l’appartement à partir du 29 Mars que j'ai évidemment rejeté et accepté pour le louer à partir du 1 Avril ). Selon lui, il m’a fait une faveur. Je réponds donc « Je vais faire peinturer et je lui enverrai la facture , si ça coute 95$ ou plus on verra ».Il m'a rappelle tout en signalant qu'il ne peintura pas l'appartement et refuse de me rembourser mon argent. Donc suite à la conversation, je lui ai fait savoir autant qu’à lui et son assistante que je ne prendrai pas le l’appartement dans une sale état et que je leur laisse les clef de l'appartement au même endroit qu’il y était. *Encore jusqu’a ce jour j’attends de me faire rembourser Mais plus aucune reponse de lui ou son assistant.

unfortunately I had a very bad experience with Joel Simard. I was comming to look at a property in Luskville which by the pictures looked quite decent however upon arrival Mr. Simard was face down in his phone the entire time, zero customer service with no information on the house. I brought along my friend to assist as he is contractor and was asking easy enough question such as what is the foundation etc. Mr. Simard took offence to these question and got very upset with my friend. Regardless of what kind of day Mr. Simard was having, his actions towards me and my friend were very unprofessional. A very poor reflection of the company. I have worked many years in management and customer service and was absolutely shocked insulted and disgusted by the way I and my friend was treated. I had a much better in fact amazing experience with an agent from capitale diamant who was kind, responsive, had all the answers and paper work available for the house i was interested in. much more professional and customer oriented.
