I ordered take out. Specifically asked if it was 1/2 price wing night, lady said “yes”. I get there and my bill is regular price, so double what I expected. Then they tell me only if you eat in it is 1/2. Nobody offers to do anything about it. Pretty inconsiderate even after I told them the girl on the phone told me it was 1/2 price night and took my order.

I was a little upset as I have been here before and the service and food have been good. Tonight however I hope my server was new as she forgot her pen and paper, left and came back 5 mins later and asked again if my group was ready to order. She also forgot a second drink had even been ordered. When I finally got my meal it was after a group that was seated after us. My supper was room temp and my seasonal veggies were half warm and half cold. I hope the next time I come here the food at least will be hot, and I can wrote a positive review. If not then I dont think I will come back.

Our waitress was HORRIBLE. She did not come by the table to ask how things were (came by once to collect the empty plates). No-one got any refills. We weren't asked if we had scene points. My husband's food was cold. I asked for a refill on my pop the only time she came by the table and she came back with the bill. We waited forever for her to come even take our order. We kept seeing all the other waitresses coming by the tables but never saw ours come to ours. It was NOT busy and every other waitress was doing a great job. Ours just sucked.

Sub par food with horrible service. I did email the franchise and received a response from the manager. I do have a standing gift certificate that he offered as a compensation for the disappointing meal/service. However, he failed to address the fact that they don’t dust the stuff above your head. All the stuff on the above shelves. If you’re going to barn-looking stuff in a restaurant, at least keep it to restaurant standards. IF I return and see a difference in the quality of food, quality of service, and appearance of the restaurant I will edit my review.

Its ...just Ok ... dont expect fast service. Been here 4 times now and service same everytime. Sometimes extremely slow, on one account (months ago)we were sitting at the bar while servers chatted to each other at the cash register not recognising customers had just sat down on front of them. Meals are sufficient-no complaints but nothing to write home about. Friendly staff, although youll need to waive some servers down for service even if the restaurant is not busy.

Not very impressed. Took nearly 45 minutes to get our food, place was half empty, and half the food was wrong when it arrived. Between that and the lack of smiles or personality our server had, it just wasn't a pleasant experience. Not to mention bringing or 1 year olds food out last and it was piping hot so we needed to wait another 10 minutes to serve it to him. On the plus side I guess the manager tried to make up for what he can tell was an obvious bad visit by discounting and giving us a $20 voucher

I hate writing this during COVID as I understand that local businesses are facing unfortunate circumstances already but I’ve had a string of bad experiences that I feel warrant criticism. Experience 1: missing items in order 2: Waited half an hour for my pick up order despite it being ready when I arrived 3: power outage so order was cancelled - understandable but they should disable their ordering option on the app when the restaurant isn’t open. I appreciated the call but the app didn’t have any option to cancel the order so I never received a refund. I eventually had to contact the corporate customer service who fixed the issue. 4: Went at lunch to pickup a preordered meal. Curbside didn’t work (they should get rid of that option considering they may be understaffed at busy times). Then went inside, I could see my order, but nobody was available to give it to me (order paid for online). I thought about just picking it up and leaving but realized that may have caused confusion. After 15 minutes of waiting, one of the staff members was able to talk to me but was too busy (lunch rush - understandable) to hand me the order. Waited a bit longer and got my order - which at that point wasn’t warm. I absolutely get that it isn’t the fault of the staff - they’ve been handed a short straw - but they should adjust their offerings accordingly.

Really good ribs there (especially the apple butter) but really bad service 3/5 times. Had a birthday party there (reserved before hand with amount of people) and they ended up splitting us up between 3 tables and a booth (1 table around a corner). Slow service and had to get our own drinks mixed up orders or order that never came.

Awful service. My server was Geminei. Once she arrived at my table, she asked if there were any adults joining us (we were aged from 16-18) and told us that if we were putting sauces in each others’ drinks she wouldn’t give us refills. Which is understandable if we had done something to make her believe we would do that but flat out rude because it was the first thing she said to us when she got to our table. The next thing she did was look at my shirt and say “oh honey, that shirt. It’s retro and all but honey. That shirt” while looking at me with a judging stare. I would have liked my drink order to be taken before I was insulted by my server. Once we had our drink orders, we didn’t see her until a while after someone else had come to take our order. When we were paying, she complimented my acrylic nails and proceeded to tell us a story of her botched nails while making fun of a Vietnamese nail tech. Yes, she did do a racist accent while imitating her. Overall a bad experience. She also overcharged my friend $4 for a Pepsi when she had a water. Luckily I said something but still, we were trying to have a nice night out for dinner and a movie but we’re met with a negative experience. Not happy.

Horrible service! Luke warm food, a waitress that seemed very new to the industry and not properly trained, and overly prices for what you get...sad thing is there was only 8 tables at 530pm. No reason for her to be forgetting our drink order, not checking on the table, and laughing as if everything is ok. When told that we weren't happy with our meals she shrugged her shoulders and said " awe that's to bad "... we don't go here very often and I don't think we will be bad anytime soon... Sad... it use to be absolutely amazing!

This restaurant is getting worst, after 5 min waiting at the entrance and not even seeing a staff on the floor, I had to walk towards the kitchen. Finally got a seat, service was extremly slow, our plates came out barely warm, I guess it's due to the waitress and not the kitchen. Ribs were also stiff.. It was not my first time here, but I'm not sure if I want to go back again

We waited for over 5 minutes to be seated while there were two servers standing by the bar section and could clearly see us waiting.. Standing in plain view at the bar chatting ... the food was mediocre at best.. the manager was beyond ignorant to our table. Being in the service industry that service was unexceptional if they even want costumers to return.. it was a total joke and a wist of money.

Awesome service and very friendly staff. One of the people in my party had asked for their steak cooked medium. It arrived, but was over cooked. The manager left the steak, and gave her a new steak, cooked to perfection! The manager also gave us a 25% discount on our meal. He also reminded us we would get a further 10% off with my BCAA membership, what a professional! I reccomend this place wholeheartedly!

Nice country style experience. Not a regular, but think it's a nice restaurant. Other reviewers say the service is poor, but I found the host to be prompt. The waitress, Victoria was very good. She did several checkups to make sure we were well taken care of. I had fish a d chips. The fish was a little soggy. My wife had ribs. She said its terrific. Would dine here again.

Come in sit down and order food. Couple comes in sits beside and orders food, their food comes first. Waited 1 hr after ordering to get our food. Ordered Kapow shrimp, got grilled shrimp with lemon. Ordered steak done medium, comes well-done. Why did they bother asking me what I want if their going to decide for me anyways? Witnessed 2 different tables send their food back. Will not return.

Restaurant half empty. Waited for 5 minutes until anyone noticed us at the front standing there waiting. Hostess finally came up and with a rather cold tone said that they are really busy and it will be a 15 minute wait. And yes... half the place was empty. We got up and left... and went next door where the service was fast and awesome.

We were quite disappointed in Montana's in Fort St. John we went for dinner one night and were dissatisfied with the food we received the service was really good as the waitress was a friend of ours so they get two stars for her service, but really the food was so bland it had no taste. Not worth the prices they charge. The beans were disgusting and looked as if they were scrapped of the bottom of the pot. They really need a new steak supplier and also the bar tender needs to learn how to make mixed drinks, like seriously use an app or something. Probably won't be back and you can stop putting flyers, coupons and promos in my mailbox.

Really quite a shame. I throughly enjoy coming to Montana's. However the service was abysmal. The food was coming out at a snail's pace, if not slower, and the poor waitresses were running around empty handed half the time looking as if they were wondering where the food was aswell. Either get more competent chefs or hire more because they clearly know how to cook for a family BBQ, not for a restaurant franchise.

Would love for a manager to contact me about the service tonight. Called for takeout put on hold for 10 mins someone answered put us on hold for another 5, we ordered, said food would be ready in 20 mins. We gave a Lil longer for food as they said it was busy, my fiance gets there and waits an additional 30 mins to get our food, he gets home open our food and it's all cold, missing dips and the sides are all mixed up. My burger is so cold I have to heat it up in the microwave making it taste different than it wouldve originally. Our first dinner from Montana's in FSJ and will be our last! 80$ wasted

i dont know what's up with some of these bad reviewers. the decor of the place made me hungry as soon as i walked inside. they had all you can eat ribs on special all day every day. flavours were all good and if you like smoke like i do, it tasted like tender pork with a bite of campfire. so good! The beer on tap was so cold it had ice chunks floating inside - how all draught beer should be served. had a burger too that was way better than Mr mikes. totally pigged out and ordered the mud pie for dessert. i didnt need it at alll but it was stupid good. were up the way working in camp. will be back a few more sundays for sure what a treat.

I placed an online order and paid with my SCENE points and the rest on my credit card. The order was not received in FSJ office but I showed the Manager, Dallas, my confirmation number and she promptly got the order made. From our brief conversation, she told me it was her first day as a manager and I thought she handle the situation very beautifully. It could have easily been an unhappy story if I hadn't received my order. In addition, the chef (I could not catch his name) was equally as understanding and made sure I was taken care of. Kudos on the people you have in FSJ.

We have tried Montana's on a few occasions and truthfully been disappointed more than once and said we would never go back. In fact whenever we think of going out Montana's is never on our list. Took our godson and his mom and dad tonight and we ended up going there again and had an awesome evening. The food was really good but what really nailed it for me was our server. Angie was all i could hope for in a waitress. Friendly and helpful and tolerant of whatever question was asked. We will definitely go again and no disrespect to any of the other staff we will be requesting Angie as she made our evening very pleasant.

Went here for dinner the other day and was underwhelmed to say the least. The front of house was a disaster with multiple groups claiming they were there first and no one was around to check them in/take a list. We got to our table and waited forever for someone to come ask about drinks and then waited even longer for food. The food arrived - some cold, some items (i.e. the meat for the fajitas) missing and the ribs were d-r-y. We hadn't been here for a long time and definitely won't be back. The worst part of the whole thing was the dad with his two little kids sitting next to us - they were there before we were and were just getting their meals as we were leaving. Feel sorry for the little guys but they were real troopers and didn't raise a fuss. The funny thing is they weren't even that busy. I'd say at least half the tables were empty so I don't know what was going on. We'll just go to Mr. Mikes next time.

I had their top steak....and became very disappointed. I asked for medium rear with cesar salad. The salad was poor and seemed thrown together or bottom of the bowl with tiny pieces of lettuce, and the steak was medium-Well...not happy......

One word. Ratchet. Worst place ever. Where do I begin.... The service was disgusting. I've been a manager for customer service for over 12 years.... Someone isn't doing their job we got seated. Waitress took 20 minutes to pour 2 glasses of wine not sure if she had to go stomp the grapes herself. Then she dropped off our drinks and took our orders..... Didn't see her once until it was time to pay the bill.... Sad. My friend and I were sat at a tall table. The taller tables were so close together we could hardly get in. Ridiculously cramped. I ordered a blue rare steak. It came back medium rare...... Not what I paid for. The presentation looks like something a dog threw up. Avoid this place if you can. I was told by some locals afterwords that it's one of the worst restaurants in town. I've been told Mr Mike's is exceptional. So I will be checking it out during my stay. Would give it less than 1 star if I could. Terrible in every metric

Excellent food for amazingly cheap prices. Judging by the decor I thought it would be pricy. It wasn't at all. I needed gluten-free so our waitess brought out an enormous menu which lists not only gluten-free but has colour coded highlighting to list vast numbers of foods known to be culprits for those suffering from food allergies. Another bright young waitress came over to our table to teach us how to navigate through the menu. and choose our dinners allergies the combos which were gluten free as well as listing foods which are safe for various allergies. I was amazed at the work they had gone to to cater to people who have food sensitivities. We had an excellent waitress, very attentive and polite despite being run off her feet. The fact that the place was a big restaurant and FULL of customers with more people waiting for a seat, was a good sign. Well earned high praise.

We try to take the kids once a month here (before Covid 19). This is our family fave place to dine at. Yearly we celebrate 5 birthdays here, again before Covid 19 ???? Foods and drinks are most of the time superb (once if not twice, steak was a bit chewy, but other than that, nice meals for sure). Service is always top notch. Our servers are always friendly and check us often should we need refill and whatnot. We never have any prob for reservation and seating. Greeter always friendly esp. to my youngest who likes to chat. Ambience is nice. Please bring back the salmon menu, it was so good! Too bad since covid some menu's gone, including our fave dessert.

Went there tonight on a date with my boyfriend. The food was great! But service wasnt the greatest.. When we first arrived we both asked for a vodka lime water. The server brought us straight vodka and water with a second glass of pure lime juice. Never in my life have I seen someone do that. The server was quiet and hard to hear. She gave off the vibe that she didn't wanna be there and tried to deal with us fast. When I asked her for the cheque and she came to takw our payment she didn't say a word. She set the machine and cheque down on the edge of the table and walked away and said something to quiet to hear. So I paid my bill and left before she came back... Great food. But it kinda seemed like it was everyone's first day ever working in a service industry.

Best ribs in town when they don’t over reheat them. You can taste the smoke. Typical Montana’s. just hope you get a good server and the kitchen is on par for the night. Been to lots and they all have their off nights. All around we are mainly happy with FSJ’s.

everything was really good we had ribs,shrimp,wings,steak fajitas and it was all amazing as was the service. There was a bit of a wait but it was the busiest time of night and still well worth it. The kung pow shrimp was deadly.

My husband and I love to go here for a date. We can dress up or go in casual clothes. They have great food ( maybe a little sweet ) and fun affordable desserts. My only trouble is the number of TVs around ( which I think it is a place to watch sports so that makes sense) it can be difficult to focus on the person across from you.

Visited Tues 22nd 2019 around 3pm. The app (spinach dip)was so big as was the Mac and cheese with so much cheese sausage and other things (served in a large frying pan).it was unbelievably tasty. Had to take a bunch of the meal home as I was unable to finish it. Will be back for sure and definitely recommend to others. The food, the atmosphere, the customer service all top notch. I'm back

My steak was cooked to perfection! The loaded baked potato and beans were a great compliment, and the cookie and ice cream dessert satisfied my craving for sweet at the end of the meal! My two sons were also very pleased with their dish as well! A nice atmosphere filled the room, and great insitful conversations were had.
