I visited Canadian tire parts thrice in the past 2 days just warrant for my battery as none of the guys know how to do warranty paper thing and they kept on saying I am new and I haven't been taught so finally got hold of evan aquino the manager of parts as he looked truly Unprofessional and rude attitude with no sense of speaking or understanding English and kept on saying loudly that he can't find the receipt for my battery which I bought in the last year"s winter at this ctire location as it came with a 3 year warranty and I was told by parts guy at the time of purchasing that If I lost my receipt they can look it up in the system with my phone no. . After this terrible experience I would not encourage anybody to buy battery at this canadian tire as they don't treat you properly and don't honor the battery warranty program

They have a great selection. But it is very difficult to get customer service. On Sundays of course it's extra challenge because it's the only place open for that kind of stuff. They are understaffed often and this is a problem with Fort Saint John not just Canadian Tire. It's okay if you have lots of time cuz they will always do their best to find the things you want. Often they've had to go out to the Sea c-can to go get something that's on special. So for that yes I want to give them a five star. They are doing their best. But no it is not a quick trip running in and out to grab something. Basically I know what I need when I go in if it's a big ticket item I will ask them at the front to find it and then I'll do the rest of my shopping. Yes they've always been fantastic for that. But the problem is not everybody knows to ask, so they think they're sold out. I'm a sure that this affects their bottom line because they'd be able to make more sales. I truly believe they need a larger location. And anything I've purchased from there the quality has been absolutely great. I do a lot of Renovations so yes I have to shop on Sundays.

One major downfall to this place is the way I see the employees being treated.. Its not very nice to watch New location is amazing, and a great variety of good quality products to go with it. The old Canadian tire building was old dirty and too small. Im so glad they made a new bigger location. If Canadian tire sold groceries then I would probably do ALL of my shopping here. I hope they keep the place looking good and improve their communication skills.

While it's true people say don't bring your car in and ive definitely seen why. Tires is just fine. Garden Centre employee's are fantastic, the selection is good and the people are in fact quite helpful. the negativity here in comments is unwarranted. Ok yes automotive fella is kinda rude, but stick to your guns and push the issue, that battery warranty is a pain for them, he's really not that bad. Just smile, it wont hurt you i promise. Management has always been punctual when/if requested though sometimes they are busy, and you may have to wait a few minute, thats not a big deal. Sometimes you walk in and it seems like you can't find an attendant to help but today, though there were lots of folks shopping, I noticed that there were a lot of associates throughout the store. So I went to purchase and sharpen a pair of skates. Had appropriate size in stock, very good. Find someone to sharpen them. I asked an associate and he said he’d get someone right over. Great. 5 minutes go by and no one shows up. I go looking. I find an associate but he avoids me. Finally I just call out to him that I need skates sharpened. Okay he’ll be over but he’s helping a few customers first. I see he helps the customers that approached him after I did. Why? Am I not a customer? Felt like it when I got to the checkout! They wanted my money. Furthermore, I have purchased skates at a different Canadian Tire and they offer free first time sharpening. Here they don’t. The associate at checkout cared not a cent whether it should be included. I was NOT impressed! Try another location if at all possible.

Scheduled a month in advance to have a previously purchased Canadian Tire Prostart command start unit in my pickup. I live 400km north of their location where there is no Canadian Tire. I told them they could have the truck on a Thursday as I was flying out of the Fort St. John airport (work was scheduled to be done on the Friday) and that I was returning the following Tuesday to pickup the truck and drive home. I returned Tuesday to find that they hadn't completed the installation, and I had to delay my return (by at least an hour) so that they could just put the truck back together. The command start doesn't function properly (it will start the truck, then it shuts off right away) and they didn't even setup the remote lock/unlock on the new key fob. They insisted I pay a bill for a complete installation before they would return my truck. All I got for $600 was a blinking blue light installed behind my rear view mirror. Useless!!! Will never do business with again!!

You have to verify the identity, FAX, and DESTROY the EMIDIATEMNT paper. The lady took my paper and put it next to the other cash register with my re-bleeding card and allowed to be seen by all, not to fax it. When I got home the next day I applied the CT bank and told me that they had not received anything, and that it was supposed to immediately fax the paper and destroy it. I call the TC for tomorrow if she faxed the paper, and why she did not do as written on the paper, she replied that they keep the paper in a file and not destroy it, and that the only way to know if the paper is returned when I receive the card. That is the only way. So I called CT again but could speak to the manager and there the paper was sent and I received the confirmation they received. So be careful when you do the authentication, she didn't even send it and the others are telling you an irrelevant story. I apply Bank CT and Mont says they have no right to do as they please. This is written like that, that is what they are supposed to do. And even the bank asked me if it could give me a copy to confirm on the phone with the agent, which it did not do. I bought a hose that had a 5 year warranty and after 1.5 years it ripped it got a hole in it. I lost my receipt but I went to exchange the item for something of higher quality. After 30 minutes of standing and waiting while the service rep looked for the item code and searched for the transaction, we found that I purchased it with an old bank account that I didn't have the card for anymore. The service rep tried to phone a manager but they would not come to the desk. She finally called them and they refused to honour the warranty. I will remember this experience when choosing who I do business with in the future.

The new store is really nice, lots of staff now which is great another plus. Issues that need to be resolved: - social distancing - maximum number of shoppers in the store at one time (you really shouldn’t be reaching 200 shoppers at one time, it’s not exempt because you have more floor space) - all employees need to wear face masks especially floor staff and cashiers. - sanitization of carts(especially the kids ones) - sanitizer should be used upon entering the store, or a fresh pair of gloves worn for those that have sensitivity. - Masks for shoppers should be mandatory out of respect for everyone including the Canadian tire staff. Getting into these habits right now is extremely important in preventing not only covid but other sickness and diseases. I’ve noticed other comments complaining about social distancing ( it can be controlled by enforcement and keeping a maximum allowable number of shoppers at one time) but all of the above is key into preventing the spread of illness and most of all showing respect to other human beings/ shoppers. It’s inevitable that FSJ will eventually have a wake up call, if not with covid but perhaps a future pandemic. Covid is not gone and it really does exist, FSJ has been really lucky so far with the number of cases.

I was driving my car back home from Edmonton to the Yukon. My car had a fuel line rupture at the gas bar next door to the Fort St. John Canadian Tire. The auto shop was closed for the day. Audi Canada agreed to tow the car back to Edmonton for service. Unfortunately, I had to fly back to Whitehorse for work. The Canadian Tire Duty Manager, Lonny, was very helpful. She agreed to hold my car keys and give them to the tow truck driver once they arrived. She wouldn't accept any payment for this service. Very neighbourly. Very northern. Unfortunately I did not take the guy's name who we spoke to. But I think he might be a manager or at least a superviser of the auto mechanical side. He was really unhelpful and quite frankly, rude. I just asked him a question on how to find out what the Amp's is of my vehicle so that I could buy the correct fan belt, as one of your other employees told me that the Amp's makes a difference in the size of the belt. And they then sent me to your auto mechanical section, where I then had to ask this specific guy to just give me information,(not to do any physical work) he's answer to me was,"how do you want me to do that?!" And then he had numerous other sarcastic things to say. We then were not able to identify the correct fan belt and because of that, we could not support you by buying the fan belt. I just want to say that I will not be supporting Canadian Tire fsj anymore!

I was told to bring my car in at 7:30 am for an oil change and tire change. They said if I came early, I would have it back earlier. I got up at 6:00 am on my one day off to do this. Staff seem helpful to be reasonably able to direct you to the exact location of most items in a specific aisle. Contrast this to the customer service you see in other box stores in FSJ and you will be pleased. Canadian tire is getting things right with their online inventory that tells you if your item is in stock at your store or not, a very convenient feature.

This new Canadian Tire location is massive for a Northern BC Canadian Tire. The staff is friendly, however when you push any customer service request button on any locked displays be prepared to wait a while. I have on numerous occasions had to wait more then 20 minutes for a staff member to show after pushing one of these buttons. after pushing one of these buttons the public address system will announce Customer service to aisle ## just loud enough to be heard. So every staff member should be able to hear it. This being said. Once a staff member arrives they are regularly very pleasant to deal with.

The auto centre is absolutely useless. Booked an appointment for a simple tire changeover with rims. Appointment was for 12. Showed up at 12 and was told after 2 hours of waiting that they didn't have a technician to do the job. Why would they let me book the appointment for 12 then if they didnt have someone available?

If you know what you are looking for, it can be a great store. Staff are hard to find, but the few I found were helpful and pointed me in the right directions. Could use some updates. The other downside is, it can take a while so don't be in a rush. Overall, I would stop in again (and have for a few parts)

Poor customer service, I would prefer not to give this store even a single star rating but could not publish my review without one. Canadian Tire offers an online purchase of goods or the opportunity to call and order and pick up in your local store. Was trying to order a work boot for my partner and they wouldn't even take my information because they have not even looked at their winter stock or would even give me a date when and if the item would be on the shelf. My question to the woman who I was dealing with was, you won't take my information and if you shelf that item, and sell it I am basically S. O. L. and Katrina's fabulous customer service response was yes. I just want to thank Prince George's store and staff for going the extra mile and finding the item that has not been unpacked either and putting it aside.
