Don't even think about bidding on something if you even think there is a slight chance you will miss the pick up time. Even if you have paid for the item they will dispose of it before you even get a second chance. You may have to follow their terms and agreements but they sure don't

Be warned! Their website is horrible! They charge both the buyer and seller fees in their favor of 35%. Service is really bad, they don't list items properly and they aren't in it to get people top dollar.

This place is brutal. Stay away! I Purchased a vehicle and it had engine issues, transmission issues plus many more issues. It needed Over $10000 to fix. Every vehicle at mcdougal is sold as is wow what a scam. They said they can not do anything for me and everything is sold as is. Trust me do not deal with this place.

There online auction is not very user friendly, I wasn’t able to log into there mobile app either after creating an account. When bidding on a timed item, if a new bid is placed it automatically takes the time back to 9min even if the bid was placed with 15 seconds left. I sat there for over 2 hours while bidding on the item. I feel that it should have a shorter time so it speeds the auction up. Especially if bidding on multiple items. Also should have a higher minimum bid than 100$ for items over 25,00$. Would not recommend this auction company.

Some good deals if you know your prices and your own limit! Don’t like the extension on the close time of auctions if someone else bids last minute. Don’t like the 3% fee if you use a credit card. Loved the help we received from the wonderful ladies in accounting. They are awesome!

Worse place to buy anything!I won a vehicle at the auction ,first for $1800,they told me that the seller wants $3000 for it,I declined their offer.Second time,I won the same vehicle for $2750,now they told me that they want $4000 for it,I told them about the first offer and they said that will get back to me,never did..They are a bunch of crooks ,won few other items and they dispose of them before I had a chance to pick the up..such a joke!

I was high bidder on chairs towards the end of the auction. There were lots of the chairs to bid on, and they did not have many bidders on all of the chairs. So on the last day they reduced the minimum bid to 40% of my bid. I called and was told I was unable to retract my bid,. The end result is that others were able to buy them at 40% of what I was forced tp pay. Not a good way to do business. I was told they would bring it up at next staff meeting. Does not really help me after the fact. I will look at using other auction houses.

McDougall Auction certainly has a miriade of items that they auction off. With their online bidding process it is very easy to navigate to the exact item you are looking for, bid, increase your bid and track your nids that you have. Once won, simply pay for the item (either online or in person) print the invoice receipt and pick the item up. The staff will assist in loading if needed.

Be sure to read ALL of the fine print. Not only do they charge a 15% "Buyer's Premium" on all items, which is a taxable amount, they will also charge a 3%"Convenience Fee" (also taxable) for online payments made by Credit Card. I guess it's on me for not looking into this, but after all the fees whatever savings I may have made on the auction items is now negligible. I may as well have just bought the items at retail prices and avoided the "convenience" of buying through these guys.

Be very careful before buying any electronic items as many do not work so you are stuck with a paper weight. They sell anything and everything but do not check if it works and you don't get your money back if it doesn't work

Horrible customer service. Closed at 4:30 and refused to take payment at 4:32.(cel phone time) Their office was still open and considering I left work early and drove across town to pay bill and pick up auction items, a little consideration would have been appreciated. 2 minute of their time is worth more than 45 minutes of a customers time.

Details of the Buyer's Premium are not straight forward. The cap indicated on the website information, apparently does not apply to off-site sales in Alberta. Buyer beware. Would much prefer to deal with local companies who are honest and upfront.

Went to the auction yard to pick up a semi. Thought truck was froze up right away they had a vehicle boosting it and had a diesel fired heater on it after a couple hours of trying to start it it wouldn’t go so I asked if they could put it in there shop. Nicest people ever right away had a forklift wheel the truck into the shop and hooked a booster to it and had another heater under it. They gave me all the tools they had and were extremely helpful. Eventually I figured a broken wire was the problem. Backed truck out of shop had a huge mess of water on the floor and guy wouldn’t let me help him clean it up he said you got a long drive ahead of you don’t worry about it. Really appreciate the help I received that day. Greatly appreciated !!

We did a lot business with them in the past. Horrible now!! My wife was in hospital and we could not come pick up a very small item that day. They charged us $70.00 fee. Spent 2 weeks trying to talk to someone in corporate. They resold the item and demanded that we pay for it plus the late fee. Never again !!

Website was easy to use and understand. Max bid function is very helpful. The only way to view auctions you didn't win is to add them to your watch list. Staff are friendly and courteous.

when bidding on Mcdougalls site, be prepared for them to change the contract to there advantage, was bidding on items that had a reserve under $1000, (first of all according to their contract they won't allow you to do this, but if it suits them they will change this) item did not hit the reserve price. I called to inquire about the item and sales told me it was a "trial run to see what market value was at". there was nothing on the site about this, they would not even contact the seller. they have a horrible business practice and poor attitude towards people who do not spend $500,000 a year- is want the salesman told me. do not bid on anything through this business. you will not be happy

Drove a hour and a half to recieve half of what I bid on. Will never buy from them again. I recommend you think twice before buying anything from them. My response to the owners: The reason I only received 1 tree was that you gave it to someone what won a different action. They received my tree but left one of their trees. I offered to take that tree but that was not a choice by staff. After I suggested to find out who took my tree. NO EFFORT was taken to see who it was, so it could be determined if they wished to return my tree or if it was ok for me to get their tree. All that was done was a refund for the lost tree and a suggestion that I could bid on the leftover tree in the next auction. Why would I bid on more trees if when I get there they may or may not be there.

I have never been disappointed in purchases from this auction. Most items are detailed as carefully as can be expected for an auction. People must keep in mind that the auctions are acting as agents only and do not have the capacity to test or inspect every item completely. McDougall site representatives have ALWAYS gone WAY OVER AN ABOVE what I expected when I pick up my items (especially off site items)! PROFESSIONAL HELPFULL PERSONABLE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Fairly easy to make payments and pick ups. Would be better service if they would be open until say 6:00 each day for those that work until 5. Would like to see the app improved with better search feature and issues with app starting over after viewing an item, fixed. Typically staff are very friendly and helpful.

The girls at the front desk were all friendly and smiling and both of the guys I dealt with in the yard were the same, friendly smiling and talking and were also helping other customer but didn’t leave me standing they came and seen what I was after and told me were to park and finished what they were doing and immediately came over and took care of me.
