When I first met with Derek he was lively, friendly and seemed confident in my case. He even chuckled and said, “I’m quite sure I’ll be able to get [your ex] to sign away his parental rights,”. As time went on and it was clear a trial was proceeding, he changed his tone entirely. I was given very muddled advice on what he thought the outcome would be, never a straight answer, but he suggested I would lose primary custody and significant time with my son, to whom I have been the primary care giver and has sole custody of for 4 years. Any facts he provided me were to discourage trial. The day before our trial, after all his pressure, I agreed to settle with my ex. He sent over a signed settlement (I did not instruct him to sign on my behalf, just to send it and see if they would comply) that outlined every detail my ex had asked for without any mention of financial arrears (an estimated 45k!!), monthly child support payments, or section 7 expenses. When I expressed my disappointment and frustration with the matter, he sent over a bill that was 3x the amount he had been charging me up to this point and told me I’d be better suited with another lawyer!!!!! Save yourself the headache and heartbreak of dealing with this man! It is clear he is no longer interested in doing the work of a lawyer at this point in his career, and is only wanting the “easy” paycheques.

My experience. Hmmm...:when my ex-wife was ready to sign a separation agreement, Mr.Watson decided to threaten me with court about my "attitude" in changing"every word in the agreement". Later in that paragraph he stated my ex would sign the papers anyway. Then he invited me to a meeting with him. What a goddamn blowhard. I feel for you Saskatoon should you hire these clowns. Sadly, zero stars is not an option.

Our realtor recommended Michael Derbowka for our land purchase. Not only did he fail to do his job on ensuring all the documents were needed to close the sale, he was completely unprofessional in the entire process. We were supposed to have our land over a month ago and have had to ask him multiple times to do his job, to which we received rude responses. I highly discourage anyone from using this firm, especially Michael, for real estate transactions.

I have had the pleasure of working directly with both Randy, Jamie and Stephanie on a Real Estate Acquisition during Covid. Randy was kind enough to meet me in Prince Albert at the site of the acquisition so he could see the property first hand and to get a better understanding of any potential areas of concern. He went so far as to visit a number of the tenants to see their operations and to ask questions about the viability during covid. Randy and Jamie helped close the transaction in a short period of time. Jamie was extremely responsive and worked diligently under time constraints and always provided sound advice on strategy. Customer service is of paramount importance to me and Randy and Jamie were both always available when I called and delivered on all counts leaving nothing to be desired. I used this law firm to buy and then refinance my house. I was not impressed. On purchase they apparently misspelled my middle name on the deed. Gee thanx. Which is to me isn't that big. When I went to refinance 5 years later however it became a big deal to them so they had to fix it (on my dime). This of course took just long enough so that I missed my refinance anniversary by 4 days... gee thanx. Now all of this would have been fine sure but I was unaware of these details when I signed the paperwork. Had I known the date was missed I would have waited another year and not paid $3,000 in penalties. I realize it is my responsibility to read the paperwork but a major detail like a missed date would have been something that I would have liked my lawyer to point out. Of course I was on the hook for everything and all they could say was rotten luck... yea rotten luck I used an incompetent law firm!
