I’m not one to consider myself as particularly religious and Chris over here said that God is punishing me for what I am going through in my life. He prayed at the beginning and end of my session that I, “Open my eyes to the Lord.” When you have a stillbirth, lose a brother, and find out your husband is about to fight for his life all within two weeks, you can’t help but lose your faith. God punished me by delivering a 38 week baby that had no heartbeat. He told me that he had another paitient who had a similar experience years ago, and that at least she had God in her life unlike me. I understand if he was trying to steer me in a religious direction, but I was guilt tripped. Thank you Chris Carriera, I’ll be sure to remember that God will continue to punish me as I fight through this situational depression.

Dr. Carreira is an excellent psychologist. I highly recommend him for Marriage Counselling. He is extremely knowledgeable in this specific field. I can't even describe how much he has helped my husband and I improve our relationship especially our communication skills. Even though our relationship has improved tremendously we continue to schedule sessions with Dr. Carreira because we enjoy our sessions so much. He is such a great listener, compassionate, professional and polite. He is also very funny and makes you feel so comfortable in sessions especially when strong emotions are involved. He is worth every penny. I recommend scheduling your sessions in advance because he does get booked very quickly.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Carreira for marriage therapy. We tried many other socials workers and psychologists but felt that he was the MOST effective in solving our concerns. Dr. Carreira is extremely professional and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable talking him during my first session. He knows how to treat a variety of issues such as PTSD, depression. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone interested in speaking with a kind, intelligent professional who makes you feel like you really matter and doesn't look at the clock. Knowledge is not up to date and professionalism was iffy. He is very friendly and you can tell he enjoys his job, but it felt more like speaking with an emotional friend than a doctor. His receptionist is not really up to par and made several errors with scheduling as well. Overall, I would not return. I have been to other doctors who I felt had a better combination of both friendliness and in depth knowledge of current psychology. One last thing is that this doctor is coming from a very traditional perspective. If you are there for modern, 2019 issues, he will be limited and a bit stunned. Clearly he has other great reviews, so I would say to try him out for yourselves and see. Maybe he just wasn't my cup of tea.

I have been seeing Dr. Carreira for therapy for about two years now and now I have reached the end of my treatment. Dr. Carreira deserves a huge thank you for the treatment he has provided me throughout the years. I am grateful for his patience and his openness and his ability to make me feel extremely comfortable in opening up discussion on things I never found comfortable telling someone else. I have seen other Psychologist in the past but this is the first Psychologist that I have felt truly cares about the well-being and self-improvement of his patients. He is one of the NICEST people I have ever met. He is extremely compassionate and empathizes with his patients pain and difficulties and always manages to show you the light at the end of the tunnel. He is spiritual but does not impose his values or faith on you and is extremely open and easy to talk to. Also, I swear he can read minds! You can tell he is extremely passionate about his work since he has so many years of experience in different fields of Psychology. I recommend Dr. Carreira for anyone seeking mental help or counselling. He is worth every penny. Thank you Dr. Carreira for everything you've ever done for me.

Dr.Carreira is the best psychologist I have ever seen. He is extremely compassionate and very, very knowledgeable. I have been seeing him for some time now, and he has helped me during the hardest time in my life. I have come a very long way due to his excellent services, therapy and guidance. His office employees are very friendly and his receptionist was extremely welcoming and helped me work around my schedule. He is so nice, and very very informed in all areas of psychology. I highly recommend Dr.Carreira. I book my sessions in Advance because he gets booked months in advance. I wish I could give him more than 5 stars!!
