I was desperate to find a good mental health facility after my previous doctor was dropped out of my insurance group. I called everywhere and continually ran into the only appointments would be 2 or 3 months. BWC was able to get me in two weeks later because I was without medication and they were sympathetic to my needs. Doctor Thornton is wonderful, she specializes in people with traumatic brain injuries which I unfortunately suffer from. She has taken the time to know me and all my conditions so she can offer me the best possible treatment. Everyone there is so friendly and make you feel comfortable at all times. The only blemish on their practice is Dr. Zimmer. he has the personality of a rock and doesn't listen to your concerns. My first visit with him laster a total of ten minutes. In their defense mental health professionals are in great demand due to the shortage of licensed doctors.

i was a former patient way back when, during one of the worst years of my life. not only did my therapist fail to ever get back to me following my suicide attempt, she also never signed off on a form allowing me to stay at my school for only three hours. i was kicked out because of her, which caused a severe downward spiral. i don’t recommend taking any of your loved ones here. there is absolutely no excuse for what i was forced to deal with, and i’m deeply ashamed i ever trusted them with my mental illness. no doubt if i hadn’t gone there i’d be way better off now.

They changed my appointment the day of and moved it to 4 months later....

unprofessional!!!! they will screw with you apts so bad and book apts for you give you an apt card and then turn you away when you come and tell you your apt was at a different time even if you have the card for proof! then make you wait two months for a new apt prob just to charge your insurance for a "no show" filing a report on this business!

After my abusive marriage, I decided to go here. One of the best decisions I have ever made. My counselor (Kim) is the best and the office staff are always so pleasant. Thank you BWC for helping me through some of my darkest times.

After going to a LOT of places I'll tell you this. I like this place. No, Dr.Zimmer is not a snugly love monster that will make your bad thoughts all better with hugs and kisses. He will use his brain to deal with the complicated and difficult chemical combinations that make yours not work. I have seen many, many doctors and counselors. Dr. Zimmer is the smartest one yet. Yes, he's brash, deal with it. Think of him like House, a little bit of a dick, but will fix what the hell is broken. Want to get hugs and kisses, call your grandma. Want to deal with your debilitating depression, call Dr. Zimmer. He takes your health seriously, not your feelings. Also, my counselor is the bomb. She's honest and helps me move forward. Nothing is perfect, and if your looking for that polished perfect pretty place this place isent for you. If you want to get the hell better, this is the place. (P.S- I've been to quite a few polished pretty places, every one of hem has sucked the minute it came to a serious health problem. There's a difference in places that deal with Mental Health, and places that deal with emotional health. Figure out what you need.)

I read these unanswered reviews, and I believe everything these customers are describing.

Completely unprofessional, attended for one and a half years without seeing a psychiatrist, they told me they , "must have skipped over me by mistake." I looked into CMH to see if I could see a medicine prescribing doctor there, and BWC automatically closed my case after 1.5 years!! I called Jody, (who is undeniably not fit for mental health care, she is harsh, and uncaring to the fullest)..she told me I had given up my spot, (after 3 days,) and I am now number 55 in line.... Just a number.. Not a person, not someone who had put in the time and effort for that long of time. I am hurt and bewildered....I still have not heard back

This place is the BEST! Tammy and Taylor literally saved my life! I don’t know what I would do without these 2 very professional ladies. I was going through/still am going through a very hard time in my life and they have helped so much. I highly recommend them if you are going through a tough situation! Thanks, Jimmy

I can't speak to the quality of the therapists/therapy because I wasn't able to get that far. I have been searching online for a counselor to start seeing my son. This was one of the first results that came up. Their website says "Schedule an appointment today!" There is also a section instructing you to fill out the intake paperwork online. So I spent 2 hours filling all of it out. I submitted the intake and the privacy practices section but then the following page wouldn't load. So I called to make sure everything I filled in went through. I spoke with Jody. She asked my son's name and if he was a current patient. Why would I be asking about the intake forms if he was a current patient? I explained again what I was calling for and she very curtly said, "We're all booked up, we have no appointments and we aren't taking new patients." I was surprised. I suggested that they state that somewhere on their website so other people looking for help don't waste their time and share personal information for no reason like I did. Very disappointed with how she spoke to me and how their website makes no indication they aren't accepting new patients.

I started meeting with Michelle Boyer and she was amazing. I recently switched counselors because of my schedule. The new therapist said my appointment was at 11am and I put it into my planner. I come to find out that it was actually at 9am. Never received a call asking if I was ok or if I forgot the time. Now they are saying that I will have to wait till next week to reschedule my appointment not cool. After writing the review above things were moved around and I was able to get in that same day. I appreciate bluewater for making my bad day better and getting me what I needed.

I have went to therapy since I was 14. I am now 40yrs old. I wasn't pro-counseling, very skeptical due to past experiences, but I needed help...so here we go AGAIN :/ ....What a blessing that decision has been! I began seeing Dr. Rousseau and she has been the perfect fit for me! I appreciate this women very much! I think that whether my experience is good or.... not so much........is based on multiple factors: Is this the right therapist for me? Am I getting what I need? Then on my end .....am I honest? am I willing to be open to new ideas? Am I able to open up about the real stuff going on? My mind set and attitude are huge in this process. I dont know if this has been so great for me b/c I'm finally able to be real with someone and it's just the right time , right place, right person or whatever......all I know is there are no regrets here! In fact, I appreciate Blue Water so much my husband and son began attending.....all good experiences.....all different therapists......and in addition my daughter starts in less than a week plus, my husband and I have also been attending marriage counseling for 9months..ish.....and it has Saved Our Marriage! Thanks to our dear therapist Kari!! The Front Desk has also been wonderful! When I had billing problems ......they were there to help. Psychiatrist has a lot of patients but has continued to help me find the correct medication.....be patient with that process.....sometimes it takes quite a bit of time to get where you need to be .....2yrs for me.....well, since trying AGAIN anyways...after many years of not having anything to do with looking into my Mental Health. Thank you Blue Water for all that you have done for me and my family! You've been wonderful! SIDE NOTE : If you are not happy with your services....know that you have RIGHTS......you have the right to speak up about being unsatisfied.(BUT please also remember that if your services are good......you can voice that as well......just sayin').....but.... You are allowed to get the treatment you need and deserve. You can get a new therapist if that's what you need. Do whatever you have to, to get the help you are in need of....Look through "Your Rights "...Pamphlet ......You're worth it! Take Care.

All of the reviews on here seem like they’re from people who have paperwork/insurance issues. If you’re capable of doing some intake info, and using your therapist extension phone lines, you’ll be fine. I’ve been going to this establishment for two years now. I have had two therapist from here and I very much enjoy both of them. This is the only place I can make an apt at and not have to wait 2-3 weeks. I have someone to sit down with each week and she helps me so much.

Called 10 times, left 5 messages. The Office "Manager" Jodi finally called me back, didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. Said "she needed to talk to the therapists and would call me back within 24 hours". (That was 96 hours and 2 voicemails ago.) If the first contact for your Company has very poor work and/or customer service ethics, it has to be assumed that this is the standard set for the rest of your Company. Does that sound like a place that you would want to trust with your family's mental health? If you are a therapist with this Company, I would be seriously vetting the person who is responsible for attracting new Clients. If you are a new Client seeking help, save yourself time and frustration by going somewhere else.

I only put one star because I had to pick at least one... BUT I give them a big fat 0!! This place is a joke.... We scheduled the next appt. for my daughter then this lady calls me 3 days before the appt. And leaves a message with directions to the yale office, then another message right after for missing the appt. ON A MONDAY. I had a card with the thursday appt and yet I missed one on a monday???? Called left her a WTH msg. Said I guess I needed to reschedule. She then apparently took it upon herself to schedule another appt. but not let me know. I was livid! I get a bill in the mail for 120 bucks for 2 missed appts. Hahaha no way. So I call the front desk tells me they dont take care of the counselors billing. So they transfet me to her voicemail I leave LONG detailed msg also stating we were finding someone else, she to this day has not returned that call. Now my bill is 220 because they continue to bill me 25 bucks a month and now saying they are turning to credit bureau.... Go right ahead people! I will fight it for sure. And the dr there is one of the rudest men I have ever observed. That guy should not be practicing anything that has to do with people.

If anyone is looking for a fabulous therapist who is willing to take time with you and genuinely cares about your journey of healing and getting through tough times, I highly recommend Kimberly! First time going to therapy can be difficult and scary. She’s the most down-to-earth therapist I’ve ever had. She will truly help you transform.

I am posting a review of only 1 because of the horrendous time I've been having trying to get my son's prescription filled; which is off no fault of his counselor. I contacted his counselor two days ago informing her he needed his medication filled. I called the pharmacy and found out some of his medications were called in, but not the one that we really needed. Since then, I've been in contact with his counselor several times and even contacted the counseling center itself, only to find out that the NP that prescribes his medication wasn't in today, and that they would send an urgent e-mail to her, but that she won't be back until Monday, so they aren't sure she'll get it before then. I am fuming! And, btw, this medication that he needs was filled on the 15th of last month ????I am trying really hard to be understanding with EVERYTHING going on, but I just feel the ball has been dropped pertaining to my son and his medication.

Tried calling multiple times to speak to the office manager. It’s like playing phone tag. Every time I try to call back no answer. GREAT COMMUNICATION!!!

I couldn't be more pleased with the level of care I've received here. My therapist is excellent and she shows a genuine concern for my well being. Everything is very efficient and well run here, so I've never had any problems with scheduling or billing. The office is very nice, clean and in a great location, too.

Not impressed with the billing department, when I have to do the leg work in order to get them to bill the insurance for one and then to get my benefits correct. How is it I call the insurance and they tell me exactly what they tell the provider and the provider gets it wrong. Now I have to try and get all the money we paid back.

I was diagnosed about a year ago with a somewhat rare inner ear disease that can be caused by stress and/or anxiety and also creates anxiety. There is no cure and learning to just "live with it" wasn't good enough for me. I did some research and found that Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy was suggested. I was recommended to Kimberly. I began seeing her in December 2019 (the timing couldn't have been more perfect). Not only did she help teach and guide me through numerous types of meditation, she is helping me identify the triggers causing my anxiety and offers tips on how to change these things. I truly have no idea where I'd be today if I didn't find her, but I'm confident I wouldn't be in a good place. I wish I would've met her years ago because she reintroduced me to mindfulness practices that we all should be doing throughout out entire lives.
