I experienced some traumatic events in 2001 and again in 2014 where I needed someone I could trust to be very discreet and at the same time accomplished as a professional counselor. In both cases, I found that person to be Janet (Wert) Purdy. In both cases: I experienced sincere empathy and understanding; insightful, appropriate, helpful, down-to-earth feedback; suggestions that were designed for who I was then and am now - which were slightly challenging, but very effective once implemented into my life (baby step by baby step). I progressed from victim to victor. I was so angry and hurt by people and God in both cases, yet I was gently reminded of my true beliefs, allowing my relationships with God and others to be either restored, strengthened or in some cases, appropriately distanced. I am so thankful that God made Janet the way she is and equipped her so perfectly for the ministry He has gifted to her - and that He let our paths cross when I was going through such deep valleys. Although we moved to a different city, it was so worth it to travel the distance to see her !
