While the treatment itself was great the interactions with the office staff left a lot to be desired. Setting up and confirming appointments was a difficult process for some reason. On more than one occasion we had phone calls to book appointments that that were already confirmed, and even had phone calls wondering why we didn’t show up for virtual appointments that we had not booked. We went to the office for an in person session and more than one person showed up for what was meant to be a phone interview. Organized chaos would describe the office staff.

The staff at Avicenna are brilliant. Anil is always polite and professional and the medical staff are top notch as well. I suffer from treatment resistant depression and have been receiving eskatemine treatment through the clinic. It has been a completely life changing experience. I spent the best part of a decade cycling through the various antidepressant drugs with very little success. I have been completely astounded by the change I have seen after getting a referral to Avicenna for esketamine treatment. It's like someone turned on the lights. I am finding genuine joy in life again. I didn't think this was a possible outcome for me. Dr Afsal and Manny have managed the process and treatment experience with amazing compassion, great skill and understanding. Honestly, this has probably saved my life. I’ve had a great experience at Avicenna thus far. Dr.Afzal and Cindy have been great with working with me on my anxiety. The front staff (Anil and Gita) are very nice and welcoming to the clinic. As someone who has worked in mental health, I would recommend this clinic to anyone who is needing mental health supports.

Shockingly disorganized, had wrong contact info on file for a month, lost several assessment forms we needed to redo, had to advocate for follow up and next steps 5x, the Psychologist didn't show up for the virtual appt, another time the link didn't work and no one available to fix problem so needed to rebook, very poor communication between clinic staff, Psychologist was patronizing and disorganized, while process was to take 1 month but we are 3 months in and still no results. BC had free Adult Adhd assessment ootions now and if on urgent basis, costs $250. This clinic charges $1800.

We had a great experience with Dr.Javad Ramezani. He visited my Dad. He helped a lot with a serious pain that my Dad was suffering from. And I really appreciate him ????????????????

Avicenna welcomed me into their community this spring as a counselling intern. They have done remarkably well coordinating multiple mental health professionals to connect with clients, and with clients’ diverse needs and goals. I really enjoy the people I’ve met as well as working within the interstices of community support and mental health (not to mention, the staff are great!) Best wishes, Hope to ‘see’ you there!

I found Dr. Afzal excellent. The staff were very accommodating and courteous. Dr. Afzal's treatment was excellent and she really helped me a lot. She also has a very flexible schedule and willingly accommodated to my needs when she meet me at a time that was better for me.
