I have nothing but good things to say about my therapy experience with Dennis Weeks. After just a couple sessions, it became clear to me that he was experienced, knowledgeable, and consistent in his ability to not just listen but guide therapeutic care in the direction of growth and mindfulness. It's been several years now, and he's only ever been patient with me as I work through my journey and heal from past traumas. He never gives unwarranted advice or pushes anyone to discuss anything they aren't comparable with. He is open minded and understands humor, even when it's dry, and on the other hand, is also validating in ways that makes talking about the hard parts of life surprisingly easy and comfortable. As someone that started therapy while being afraid of men, it speaks volumes to me that he's taken the time to build on trust and understanding by allowing the sessions to take the shape of whatever healing looks like that week for me. Although I am someone that wholeheartedly believes that therapy is as healthy as talking to a nutritionist before starting a diet, I had nearly given up on my own therapy after trying a few local therapists that left me feeling hurt and shamed after our talks. Given this, the only thing I would change would to have been started seeing him sooner.
