Compared to so many hospitals this one is amazing

Arman Mesri

I was there for a surgery and I found them to be kind and compassionate. They took me through the whole process step by step and made sure I am ok. Doctor fry was awesome. I found him to be cool and professional. Thanks everyone ????????????????

The care in the X-ray department or zone 3 in this hospital is ignorant!!

Pamela Ohochinsky

Great staff that Gels well into a great team.!

Susan Skidmore

I was admitted to the Emergency Department in the middle of the night. Everyone from reception to triage, technicians, nursing and other staff and the doctor worked smoothly, smartly and with obvious care. Thank you for turning a potentially scary experience onto one of safety.

My son got injured at soccer on Sunday night. We went there, saw a doctor and was told to come the next day for a CT scan, which we did. After the CT scan, my son was told that he now needs an MRI and to wait to get that done as well. After waiting for nearly 3 hours, he was asked to go back home and wait for someone to call him to get the MRI done. Fair enough, we understand that emergencies do happen and they couldn't fit us in on that day. Now, today, after waiting nearly the whole day without any news from the hospital, i decided to call and try to find out whether they have been able to schedule his MRI. I got a very rude person on the line who didn't seem very happy that I was calling. I started by saying that i was calling for my son as he is in a lot of pain and we didn't know what to do. She asked how old my son was and when i said he was 20, she said: well, if he is 20, i am sure he can call himself! Now, what kind of an unwarranted attitude is that? Although i understand, for privacy concerns, you are not able to give confidential information over the phone but what i fail to understand is the need to be rude and condescend...we are already worried and don't need that kind of attitude from other people!

What time is it in Limassol has hospital to go that they don't get much better

Did not have a very good experience with the RN Aliya this evening, the whole experience was just brushed and didn’t feel any compassion, asked for a band aid for an open peeled cut from blood drawn a day before, being having chronic pain and auto immune diagnose now , I was told to leave it open no need for a band aid, I told her that I didn’t want to catch anything else in the hospital, she agreed with saying yeah hospitals are dirty and walked away. She kept looking at me like why are you here feeling definitely needs coaching !

Not sure if Dr Vrecko is a regular ER doctor at this hospital, but he was dismissive, uncaring and didn't listen to anything I had to say about my symptoms or history. Unwilling to help me in any capacity. I left crying, in horrible pain. The nurse that was in my zone was also uncaring and unhelpful. I felt stupid for asking questions. I did not receive proper care or any attention with him at all. I've read multiple reviews of people having very similar to experiences with him, including another physician. Unreal and completely irresponsible.

We always have as awesome an experience as you can hope for being in a hospital. Their staff are just amazing, nurses go above and beyond. They make you feel comfortable. Their maternity staff in particular are amazing, and even the doctors and nurses who work in emergency are great!

Nathan Wielenga

I had the opportunity to visit the emergency room - the staff were extremely friendly, and treated my family very well. The doctor had excellent bedside manner, and she and the nurse were really good with my 3 year old.

Andrea Goodwin

Great experience, in comparison to the other hospitals in the area this place is fantastic. I had to go in to emerg last night for myself, and after being in other hospitals in the area for family, I decided to go to Peace Arch and I am so glad I did. The nurses were so good and really do care. The doctor I saw there was really good as well. If I ever have an emergency again I know I will do my best to go here. Thank you PA!

Logan Senghera

Terrible experience, doctor practically vanished and never saw me, had been waiting as the next patient to be seen for well over 3 hours. Not once did a nurse provide an update or was compassionate enough to check up on me. Very disappointing when your health is at risk and nobody really seems to care.

Parking - subpar system, you can’t stack payment, to get your money’s worth you have to wait until your parking is about to expire, THEN add more time. If you stay long enough they give subsidized parking pass for NICU parents, which makes it a little nicer. Maternity - very nice rooms, they’ve been clean and spacious both times I’ve been there in the last 2 years. Nice staff that’s helpful, caring and friendly.

Peace Arch is restoring my faith in the Health Care system. They are taking incredible care of my grandfather and are even setting up FaceTime sessions for us. They go above and beyond and we are so grateful. Compared to the horrific “care” at LMH, there is no comparison.

James Thompson

I took a friend in to Emerg today. Even though it was busy we were handled quite efficiently. Triage and labs were done and we had xrays as well. Then we moved into the nursing area to wait for the Doctor assessment. There we met Marie the geriatric nurse attending to seniors. She was very friendly and helpful. Her demeanor helped to reduce my friends anxiety. Marie was also very helpful with information. She presented herself very professionally showing complete attention to my friends condition and was very empathetic. There was no rush to complete her assessment and she organized various needs to address my friends comfort while we waited for the Doctor. Our time in total at Peace Arch was about 3 hours. Compliments to the Administration for running such an efficient and friendly hospital.

Have been here once. Only took 2-3 hours but the stitches by the doctor were not so good. And very painful. Surrey memorial hospital is better.

My grandmother is in there with stomach cancer and not only did they forget to send samples to the oncologist for a week until my mom visited asking about it but they also forgot to bring her meals or were late, for an 80yo woman on a liquid diet.

terence “terry” francis

Gouging parking rates. Emergency staff and ambulance has repeatedly demonstrated indifference to a patient suffering mightily.

Jerry Xue

People dont realize that you need to wait in the ER. Be patient! the doctors are here for you to help.

Been hare for 4.5 hrs no end in sight! This hospital has the worst wait times iv ever experienced and the nurse said it's not even that busy right now!

Delivered my son in this hospital, had great experience, nurses are caring, doctors are professional and experienced. No complaints :)

Unfortunately been here multiple times here's my multiple experiences: 1. Severe allegeric reaction that wasnt previously known. ER treated me more than well as I was nearly dying and struggling to breath. 2. Appendicitis: ER nurse missed my vein multiple times in attempt to administer IV but overall i cant blame them the service was excellent. Another nurse stepped in after and helped. Spent 2 days in hospital was treated well but paid extra for private room. 3. Numerous times for x rays, its really a hit a miss for timing. I always bring a book and be prepared to wait. The staff are efficient and effective. 4. When someone is in critical care they do care and they do their best. They have the patients best interest in mind from what I experienced. As my grand parent dealt with their end the staff were compassionate and understanding.

Carol S

I had an MRI at 1:45 am, and every staff member I came in contact with was so kind and helpful. The Covid-19 protocols were excellent. The woman who checked me in was wonderful and very helpful. The man who did my MRI was patient with my attempts to get comfortable and made me feel calm and relaxed during the procedure. The overall experience was so much better than I anticipated - big thanks to the overnight MRI team!

Our 87 yr old dad entered this hospital 12/29/2014 complaining of severe lower back pain, arrived by ambulance. I checked on my dad everyday after this, but no one would tell me why he had pain and only told me they were doing tests and "are looking into it". On January 1st 2015, dad was moved the 6th floor called, Six-North.Eating the nutritious foods they would give him, began feeling better - strength returned, began walking again. They put him on pain killer. On Jan 6 dad began asking me why nurses appeared to not be doing anything to help him. So I too began asking them same questions. And they just looked at me as if I wasn't suppose to ask such questions. One of them said it was up to my dad's doctor. But dad's doctor was vacationing in India and couldn't be reached. Dad began getting weaker, continuing to complain to nurses that they weren't doing anything to get him better. He told me he wanted to leave to try another hospital. But they refused. And to answer him why. They'd tell me they knew what they were doing and for me to let them do their job. One nurse actually got annoyed with me added that dad is in serious condition! So I asked, "If he's serious condition, why isn't he connected monitoring equipment and why isn't he connected to a IV bag?" But she continued to act as if I'm not suppose to ask these questions and she wouldn't say why. My brothers' family rushed here on Jan 9th, to ask the same questions but they too received the same response. One nurse told all of us that they don't have time to talk to us about our dad because they have patients to care for! On Jan 12th we also told them there's something very wrong with all of them that they're letting him get weaker and not doing anything or telling us why! And we talked about suing this hospital and the entire staff.Suddenly a nurse came in and told us that the decision to not provide dad with treatment to get better had been made by dad himself when he had fist walked in around or just after Dec 29 2014. We hadn't known this! So we complained that they had taken far too long to tell us why they had not helped dad get better and that ever since I've visited dad since Dec 29th. Finally able to speak with dad's family doctor who confirmed that he is very sick. And that he (dad's doctor) did not want to do anything to help him get better because what he has is so serious that he'd have to undergo very painful procedures to get better. And therefore it's best to just keep him comfortable and "take it one day at a time". I understood what this meant. But at the hospital dad refused to want to die and told all of us that he wants to get better. On January 15th (2015) a social worker came into dad's room asked dad twice if he really did want treatment, and dad said yes twice. So the social worker told dad and then all of us that the hospital would have dad moved over to a treatment center to get treatments located in Six-South. She didn't just tell us this once, she told us several times in our conversation with her during the hour long she was there with dad and my brother. But the next day, January 16th (2015), this same social worker was on the phone with me and sounded annoyed at me as she told me the hospital would not move dad over to Six-South (as she had told all of us she would do). And she also said that dad would not be taken to a Long Tern Care Facility (as she had told us she would have done). And very quickly right after saying this to me, asked me in a tone of voice which sound accusatory: "What do you think Tony, is preventing your dad from passing on. Do you not think that the only reason he is hanging on, is because of you and your brother [name of my brother]?!" I was stunned from these two questions. I found these questions very insensitive. I didn't know what to say, so I answered her, "Well, he doesn't own any cars or property, he only has $2,000 in the bank. So yes, I have to say he continues living and not 'pass on' as you say because of his family which he knows and loves. This is a very normal reason why a person likes to live!"

Some very sad people there working behind the union that should not be working there. My wife and I went there last Friday July 2, 2021. Wife went to Medical Imaging, I wasn't allowed to accompany her even though she can barely walk and needs help, the Unit clerk a Caucasian redhead, don't know her name, started being abusive to my wife because wife had her own mask, unit clerk started having a metldown. My wife was in respiratory distress as the unit clerk berated her. As my wife was clinging hanging onto the wall when finally, a nurse came and called for another nurse saying my wife was in respiratory distress, they got a wheelchair for her and then took her to get a CT scan as I was told about this after they brought her back, but just the abuse she had to endure from the unit clerk is ridiculous. It's a shame they get to treat sick people like she did and hide behind the union for protection. Thank you to the 2 nurses that helped my wife.

If you are a person of colour, i advice you to avoid this hospital all together. staff members ; nurses and paramedics can be rude and racist. the staff is overall unprofessional when it comes to non-white patients.

Reena Singh

Where is your SOCIAL DISTANCING???????? I would give it a negative star if there was that option. There is no social distancing when you go to emergency dept at this hospital. The staff at the front desk was rude - lacked any compassion in that position. I understand that this is a very stressful time to be working in the hospitals.....but the fact is that we depend on you and feel that we give our lives in your hand once we enter those doors of the hospital. You took that job by choice and we applaud you - but treat people like you want to be treated.

Kerstin Wuigk

8 hours wasted so far. I was supposed to go in for an emergency CT scan to find out what is wrong. The doctor sent a note and called ahead. The Triage nurse put me at the very bottom of the list. At 3 am they put 2 IV in me and gave me antibiotics and sent me home. They are guessing at what this is. My doctor didn't want to guess that's why she said do a CT. Now I am still waiting. Its the next day. They were supposed to call me in. Nobody has called so far. Go somewhere else. This place is a zoo. The pain meds aren't working either and i sat for 4 hours on a hard chair before someone finally gave me some Tylenol!! The Triage nurse doesn't pay attention to what shes doing - she couldn't remember whether she took my temperature or not. Stay away.

I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy at Peace Arch Hospital on Oct 11th and from check in to discharge I have nothing but good things to say about the staff. All were pleasant and showed genuine care and compassion towards me. Their response times were very quick when I needed assistance and they managed my pain very well. The meals were tasty and the hot food was hot and cold food was cold and the servings were large enough. Nurse Mimi as very thorough with explaining wound care and discharge instructions so I was confident being discharged the next day. A warm thank you to all.

The wait was a little long, but the care was excellent

One of the ER charge nurses there is very rude. Poor care compared to what I received at Surrey hospital.

I would like to thank the staff in Surgical Daycare at Peace Arch Hospital. You hear a lot of complaints about hospitals but this staff and surgeon should be highly complimented for their professional care and attention to details when dealing with their patients.

Andrea Muzzi

Horrible service, did test and got seated in a corner forever. If there is nothing really wrong just send me home. Just ignoring patients is just not right.

Jay Todd

I had to stay three months and the nurses are fabulous and if you have to spend a long time in the hospital, this is the hospital you should choose.

T C L

The staff there are supposed to be kind, courteous and caring....its a hospital and those of us who are injured are there to get our injuries caref for. My experience today was that the staff were rude, demanding and generally nasty individuals. To the lady at the front desk of the emergency who was shaking her head and rolling her eyes at me, you may want to find another line of work to be in.

I was sceptical about going here because Surrey and Langley memorial are both extremely awful and the nurses are terrible. The nurses here however, are so amazing. All of the nurses and doctors I dealt with when I went in were amazing , and caring , and you could tell they enjoy their job.

Simran Sidhu

Their not allowing visitors due to Covid-19 which is understandable but gets a bit tough for people that need help or someone to talk to during their visit because it does take time. Overall experience was amazing, the nurses are understanding and very nice! They do take the time to listen to your problems and do take you seriously compared to past experiences with other hospitals. Got in and out of the ER within 2 hours which is amazing. No complaints at all. Best hospital service from my experience!

azadeh sorkhinia

I went there with numbness in my arm and leg. they send me home with Advil. Doctor did nothing to examinating my body just to mention i have a history of blood pressure and hearth problem and back pain he said i have some nerve system issue he diagnose me with out even check me or tuching my hand or my back . funny he said go to your family doctor or search in google to find what can make your numbness better. I thought hospital is for emergency situation but not in peace arch they just get pay for nothing. my family doctor wasn't available and I didn't have choice. don't go their because it is just wasting of your time

Twice my family and I have been incredibly let down by this hospital. In 2014, I had a skiing accident with pain in L shoulder. Intake nurse merely felt my clavicle; no X ray taken of shoulder. Discharged. I concocted a sling to immobilize and worked the next day. Turns out, I suffered a fractured scapula (shoulder blade). Worse was 2010 when my then 6 year old son suffered the beginning of 6 TIAs (mini strokes) following a fall. My husband and I, with the first TIA, immediately rushed our son to the hospital, and reported the R facial palsy, incoherent speech, and R side weakness. We are both allied health professionals. Doctor misdiagnosed and advised against a CT scan. In his report, he stated we parents declined. Our son had a dissected internal carotid artery. All he needed was 81 mg of baby aspirin. Due to the doctor's failure to listen to us, dismiss our concerns, and lack of due diligence, our son suffered needless brain damage with the additional TIAs. Whenever I see the ads regarding the warning signs as to a stroke, and to immediately seek medical attention, I feel sick. That is what we did, in vain, at Peace Arch Hospital.

Last time I came here because one of my family member was really sick, nurses in Zone 1 were very helpful and kind. They were very patient to answer my questions.

Very nice staff. Not much wait to book an MRI faster then any other hospital. Faster peace of mind about your health. Near from Langley. Try it you'll love it.

Waited 5 hours before I got fed up and left. They took blood and wray and shuffled me around chair to chair emergency room sucks and the best was when they left me alone for 4 hours without even checking.wait doctor is on the way????

Last week, after spending a sleepless night with stomach pains, I drove myself to the Peace Arch Hospital to be checked out as I suspected something was wrong. I was immediately greeted by a volunteer who assured me the wait would not be long, which it was not. I was promptly given a cursory assessment, my details taken and I was placed in a wheelchair and taken to a bed. Once in the bed, three kind and gentle nurses painlessly and quickly hooked me up to an IV, took blood and attached me to monitors. The doctor soon came by and was kind, gentle and attentive. He sent me for a CT scan. While waiting for the results of my scan and blood work, I was given plenty of blankets (I was very cold) as well as intravenous pain killers and anti-nausea medications and was able to sleep. When I became concerned about my parking expiring, one of the nurses put a note on my car to avoid a ticket. The results of my tests came back shortly with a confirmation of appendicitis. The surgeon came to see me and arranged for me to be operated on within the hour. I was discharged at 9:00 am the following morning. The staff at PAH went above and beyond to make me comfortable, give me the best possible treatment and even called my family when the surgery was done. Keep up the good work!

Myles Nystrom

Was feeling light headed, nauseous, had blurred vision, and blacked out, had to be transported by ambulance and the doctor told me to eat cookies and drink milk and get out of the hospital. Worst experience ever

Will Gemino Fung

I had few X-rays and colonoscopy scan in last few years. Staffs are always friendly.

Dominic Faria

You come here and have either a good experience or a bad one, its one or the other... Wait times are horrendous, its understaffed and I can count on one hand the amount of any staff with bed side manners, the rest good luck... They are quick to judge and even when your screaming in pain they dont even come by to ask if you need anything... Their CT scan is down half the time and even when its slow your there at least 5 hrs... If you absolutely need to go to this ER be sure you have nothing else to do that day...

Julienne Parker

My Mom is 91 and has broken her hip. She has been in the hospital for 9 days. Her Physio rehabilitation therapists are great.

Kate Mack

Got here at 9pm. It is now 3:15am snd have not seen a single soul. I've been trying to tell them how much pain I'm experiencing or I wouldn't be here, and no help. Not even an Advil to tide me over till the doc does see me and that probably wont be for another 5 hours. I'm giving them 30 more minutes then I'm out.

Kimm Brickman

I just wanted to send a great big thank you to the Emergency Room staff at Peace Arch Hospital, as well as to the Radiology and MRI staff. I just spent 3 days at the hospital and while there was some prolonged waiting for reports to be received, I have to say, overall, I was treated with nothing but respect, compassion and professionalism. Each and every medical student, nurse, lab tech, radiology tech and doctor were kind, open to discussions and completely made me feel like I was in the best place possible at the time I needed to be there. Only short one star because the CAT SCAN report took a bit longer to be received than anyone could have anticapted but sometimes stuff happens! I had enough time there to hear how everyone treated all the ER patients, including myself and all I can say is THANKYOU for your commitment to our community. You have a very demanding job and I cannot imagine how challenging it must get at times? You all rock, in my humble opinion!

We came here for my daughter’s fever. Her fever’s was 40.02 We’re waiting 2 hours. No see any doctor still. Is this normal?

Terrible Hospital we waited 6 hours

Melissa Reimer

Went to ER for extreme abdominal and back pain. Within 7 hours I went to from knowing what it was, to being scheduled for surgery to have a massive ovarian cyst removed. The nurses I had were awesome! They made me feel so comfortable and were so attentive and on top of things! Everyone from the triage nurses to the surgeons were absolutely amazing and I'm really happy I decided to go to this hospital.

Raggedy Shack SIXPACK!!

Wow this place is a Steven King book waiting to happen. Just look at the comments that the hospital care to respond to, just the syrupy ones. When you call to complain you are transferred to a message phone that hospital staff admit is never checked. I waited 6 hours in ER before giving up and spending another 1.5 at SMH at least i was treated. I would still be at PAH if I hadn't. Staff loudly gossip about patients and when you tell them about it they tell you to mind your own business. Real nice place. Keep up the pressure on them. Yes, we are victims of this 'hospital' but we can fight back. What does 'response from owner' mean. We the people of BC own this hospital. You, the overpaid administrators of said hospital are NOT owners. DO YOUR JOB!!!! and stop trying to legitimize your inflated job title and pay.

A big shout out to the fantastic staff at Peace Arch! Thanks for making a bad situation bearable! Nurses and doctors alike were so wonderful! Friendly and thorough. The situation was not a pleasure but the staff sure made my day a whole pile better! Thanks all at Emerg!!!

Looks like South Surrey White Rock has another beautiful Kevin just like the one at Save On Foods ???????? it's great to have someone like him as the first point of contact and all of the other nurses were great too, I just wish they had a record of when the last tetnus shot was given and wish the male doc was less rough with the bandages too.

Henry lol

Good. Everyone is kind though you have to wait a couple hours if you are not hurt seriously. As an international students, they help me a lot.

Great hospital they have saved my life twice....when I read the poor reviews it occurs to me only the negative reviews are posted here and some of them seem so exaggerated as to be an uneducated post. This is a good hospital and staff....if you want a horrible and unsympathetic treatment hospital try Surrey Memorial.

I'm very disappointed with the way I was treated! I was sent home twice after coming to emergency. It took me 4 days to convince them to look into my issue closer. Eventually they found a blood clot in my arm. My family doctor said it was very unprofessional the way i was treated and this problem should have been discovered on the first day of my visit to the emergency.

Peace arch hospital staff is good but 1 doctor surrounded with 100 nurses I don't know which kind of management working behind it. And Canadian medical system loosing their ability to tackle all prospect specialty ER.

My friend's nose were bleeding really badly. He had a cut on the top of the nose after he fall and hit the floor. The emergency doesn't take it seriously. They put him into zone 3 and wanted him to take an X Ray. We have had waited for 4 hours. From 4:00 am to 8:00 am. We were the only patient in that hospital. That nurse was laughing at us. The Service was terrible.

This hospital is dirty. Stuff IA poor never again

(Translated) I've been to this hospital many times, both in emergency and outpatient departments. Generally speaking, the doctors and nurses have good skills and services. However, due to the large number of people, patients who do not have an appointment, if they are not life-threatening, often queue for a long time. The time is now at the beginning of January 2021. After skiing was injured, my friend went to the emergency room here and waited for more than 4 hours before it was over. The patient endures the pain, coupled with the starvation, it is difficult to give the hospital a good comment.

I don't recommend to people to go this hospital. Go to your family doctor instead they are much experienced than the hospital staff I had an incident with me. I will never preffer to go this hospital again.

The staff was great, private room, and full service! The community is investing in improving the hospital. This hospital has seriously improved in the last few years.

Ty Smith

The staff were ok. Some better than others. Went on a Monday morning. It took close to 6 hours. Their intake system is flawed and poorly organized. Could hear nurses talking ABOUT other patients loudly. Felt unprofessional and I wouldnt like being gossiped about. The ER doctor who saw me seemed good. All I needed was a referral to an opthamoligist. Took 45 mins just to find the eyedrops the Dr needed to use. Sad to see where our MSP premiums are not being utilized properly. This facility needs some funding badly. Waiting room toilets all have broken locks.

Jon Corrigan

As my family doctor explains it: Third world care. Why? Because the regular amount of people CLOG up the ER with "my daughter has a cut" and their tiny hospital explodes from the amount of people trying to get help. Stay the hell away from this hospital, my good friend got blood shock from a doctor administering the wrong BLOOD TYPE. Sick for three weeks!

Cameron Forbes

After having blood tests, X-rays, ultrasound at Peace Arch then day surgery last week it was a great experience in every department. Staff were friendly, pleasant, helpful and very attentive. Considering the present health system's situation I cant say enough about the service I received. Thanks to all the staff. Cameron

Not surprised by the amount of terrible ratings. This hospital is filthy, and unhygienic.

Peace Arch Hospital has some outstanding orthopedic surgeons, for example Dr. Bubbar and Dr. Kwee. Both operated on my husband several times. Dr. Bubbar just successfully did a full knee replacement. The care after the surgery by the nurses and Dr. Bubbar was exceptional. We never had any bad experience at Peace Arch Hospital. Not to forget the physio therapists who are wonderful and again, well trained and knowledgeable.

The parking situation is nonsense. The commissioned impark staff will give you a ticket even if you've paid, also stalk your spot, ticketing before the 15 minute grace period. Received great care in emergency nice staff from intake to outtake and in IV therapy friendly and professional. For those that are complaining; It's up to each of us to know our bodies. They're not mind readers or know what nerves hurt or what veins have failed before. It's not like TV shows where they have full knowledge of you in 30 seconds. The longer your file the longer it takes to read. Be your own best advocate.

m n

Honestly the worst hospital !!! The nurses are lazy and lack knowledge and I would love to know where they received their education . Lack compassion of any kind. The hospital is behind the times and definitely needs an upgrade. Also very very dirty. Would never have any family member receive treatment of any kind there again.

I have had the best hospital care this province can offer!

This place literally almost killed me. I got taken here by ambulance on October 30 2019 for a suspected ruptured ulcer, made to wait to be seen by a doctor, screaming in agony. After finally being seen by a doctor they started to treat my pain while deciding what to do. When I say treat my pain I should say they barely treated it. I was barely given anything for pain, them knowing my history they gave me very low doses of painkillers that barely touched me. I had a CT scan which confirmed what I already knew, my ulcer had ruptured. They waited until the following morning, about 16 hours, to decide to transfer me to St. Paul's for surgery. By that time I was already septic from all the fluid leaking into my abdomen. Upon reaching St. Paul's and being wheeled into the OR and sedated I ended up going into cardiac arrest and dying for 25 minutes. If it wasn't for Peace Arch hospital taking their sweet time to decide what to do with me, I could have been transferred far sooner and had my surgery earlier with zero issues. If malpractice claims were easier in this country, I would be suing. Do not go here if you are a complex case. Go to Surrey Memorial instead.

I phoned Med imaging today at 10am to reschedule an appt.and was put on hold for 20mins then connected to CT scan and asked several ID questions then put on hold for 15mins then connected to MRI _wrong connect _then put on hold again then connected to XRAY _wrong connect then put on hold for 10 mins then connected to CT scan and was rescheduled . The service pathetic was pathetic and made worse by the constant sugary recorded apologies which are non stop and enough to make me scream. Staff are incompetent in knowing how to transfer calls to correct depth. Next time will try different hospital Mr G Heaney

I would like to share my experience in that hospital...they are professionals and "human" ... From triage nurse to doctors, nurses everybody were really friendly and understanding.. we went for my baby at 2.30a.m and all were nice.. they examined my daughter and diagnosed her correctly..they gave her a medication that helps her health immediately!! Thank you all of them!!

Sam Mahil

Terrible admission/registry clerk working this morning (Dec. 19th at 2:50am). She's talking to coworkers about personal issues while there are people waiting to be registered with serious, debilitating medical issues. Unnecessary attitude for no apparent reason. If you don't like your job then find a new one. Epitomy of privilege. I am a pharmacist by the way and feel all health care professionals need to be compassionate, empathetic and efficient in their dealings with patients at all times. No excuses.

My mom was not feeling well at all so my sister and I decided to take my mom of 61 to the hospital. I have never been to this hospital but thinking its closer and possibly faster however this hospital is incredibly slow. I have been here since 8pm and its 12:00pm writing this review and still waiting for a nurse to admit my mom. Im not looking for first class service but atleast help patients in a timely manner. Nurses and doctors seem to be chatting with one another and incrediblly slow. I dont recommend this hospital and suggest you drive to another hospital such as royal columbian or VGH as you could drive there be helped sooner. Had i gone there I would be home by now. Update: Im being told theres a shift change and 1 doctor

long waits , almost lost my finger cuz of understaff nurses.

Horrible experience, my husband died of respiratory failure due to untreated pneumonia while in care at Oceanside. Doctors in Emergency did not call me to explain the seriousness of my husband's condition and did not put him on life support. I arrived at the hospital early morning and demanded they try a mechanical respirator but it was declined because doctors decided it wasn't worth it. I was stripped of my legal rights to make health decisions on my husband's behalf.

I'm sorry to hear all the bad reviews for this hospital but I've been here 3 times now for a chronic gastritis issue and I have to say I've always gotten amazing nurses and doctors! All 3 times I was in and out within 4-5 hours. At any other hospital that's usually how long the wait in the ER is alone but here I wait, get seen and treated! Big thank you to the staff here!

Kim Newell

We in with pain in stomach ended up being gallbladder. Had it moved the next day. Staff and doctors were great. Thank you for looking after me

Brandin Lafleur

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Worst hospital I’ve ever been too have had several experiences here and they are all bad they have no staff and a long wait time every time. But recently I was in a motorcycle accident and I waited for 3 hours to get an X-ray then when I finally got one the doctor didn’t even really look at my leg and after he looked at my X-ray he said I’m pretty sure it’s not broken. He wasn’t qualified to look at the X-ray and he said I’d receive a call confirming it and I didn’t. He didn’t even clean my cuts! He said to clean them when I get home! I had to find a nurse to clean them for me. I went back again today because my leg is in so much pain and it’s been a week. Then they said they are really busy and it would be a long wait again so I just left and went somewhere else. I never leave google reviews but this place is so bad I had to its ridiculous. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Tiffany Nunis

I delivered at this hospital and received the best treatment and care. Nurses and staff were absolutely amazing!

Tyler Lynes

Worst hospital ever. Been here multiple times for really bad injuries, and no one cares here. No one offers ice or sterile bandages, they will see someone with a cold before looking at a broken face or a cut that’s down to your muscle. AVOID THIS PLACE IF POSSIBLE.. And to peace arch hospital... figure it out already. You are terrible

Pamela A

Worst freeken experience. Never come here if u want to be treated well. I came in on the nurses line recommendations that i am like moderately to severely dehydrated, with chest pains and should see a doctor asap. I told the triage nurse that and she bottom fed me. It wasn't busy at all. People that came in after me went in well before me. I couldnt stop shaking, vomited bile in the bathroom twice while i waited. I just needed fluids. So absolutely ridiculous. 4 hours and counting.

I don't understand people complaining about Peace Arch Hospital. There not that bad. For me I love it ????????????????. They try there best to help me. I'm almost dieing, my heart almost not working. After few days, I'm still alive. Thank you for your help. For some people may not like it. What do you think. Small older hospital and small parking, not enough people working and not enough space there has limited. You know! Please don't complain or you can choose go Surrey hospital is bigger and more parking. They food not bad is hospital. A lot of food you can choose. What I think is good service enough. You know people work for love ???? and care. Specially for older people and young children. Other cases my kids ???? too, they fixed my kid problems.

Jessie Lawson

Just genuinely feel like even with the health care system being stress with all that's going on decent human compassion shouldn't go out the door. I'm not one to complain in fact I waited 5 hrs before asking someone to help me to the washroom but left feeling like my pain wasn't important.

Had hip replacement surgery on Dec. 1st. Had never been to Peace Arch hospital before. I cannot say enough about the level of care I received. A special thank you to Karen, Ash, Stephanie and Michael in Physio. The people in housekeeping said good morning or good afternoon every time they came in. Kindness and humor was displayed during each interaction I had which went a long way towards easing my anxiety. I know how very difficult your jobs must be, day after day, but you certainly never showed it. Merry Christmas and thank you!!!!

Ravinder Randhawa

Very bad service. We had car accident and we were in emergency but they made us wait for 4 hours and then they did the Check up.

Joe Camel

Parking cost far to high, penalties for overstay ridiculous! This is not the place to heavily penalize patients and visitors to this facility. No sense of community!

Debbie Massey

Over 6 hours wait for nothing. Never had a good experience here... ever

I had to go in to the Emergency at Peace Arch hospital on 3 different occasions with an extreme amount of Pain before it was finally determined that my Gallbladder needed to come out because it had turned Gangrene. I was disappointed that I had to go thru all this extreme pain for over a month before finally Dr Chang determined I needed Surgery Immediately. He had me operated on within hours of his diagnosis (????). Wonderful Surgeon and fabulous Dr. I cannot praise him enough ! People told me that Peace Arch was not the best place in the would but I beg to differ. Once I had the Surgery I was placed in the hands of a Nurse by the name of (MJ). She was a breath of fresh air, she is truly what a nurse should emulate to be, a wonderful person inside and out. She works 12 hr days but you would never know it because she does not bring this on to her patients. I was concerned when she finished her week that I was loosing her, and low and behold along comes Spencer just as wonderful as MJ. I don’t know whom or where you young ladies trained but what a wonderful job they have done. Peace Arch Hosp consider yourself very lucky to have them. Dr Chang, MJ, Spencer ! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my short stay a memorable one. ????

Biggest bunch of rude over paid lazy uncompassionate front staff I've ever run across in our heath care system. I would Love to meet that hispant was who works the front in the "real" world, no way would he be that rude if he wasn't protected by his ability to get away with his rudeness. Watch a man beg for his 96!! Year old father to be brought to a bed, I my to be told to sit down. I went in the back and saw 5 beds where this man could of lyed down. Why do people go into a field where they clearly have no compassion.

Just had a CT Scan and the 3 tech/nurses that I saw were amazing....Jill, Linda and sorry I've forgotten the other gal's name ( I'm old) What a team...caring, professional and kind, what more could a patient ask for.

Compared to other lower mainland hospitals, very fast emergency department based on my numerous visits here over the years

I have been to peace arch numerous times in my life for myself. Right now i am sitting in front of zone 3 with my husband who injured himself at work yesterday. We had to return again for the 2nd day in a row due to his pain and swelling increasing massivly. It unfortunately is the same nurse as yesterday who i cannot help but feel is doing this on purpose. She must either strongly dislike me or think my husband is faking? He is tears and hates the doctor. He doesn't want to be here. The treatment we are receiving is horrendous. I hope that they never are in this position and feeling mistreated. Im beyond upset with the care he isn't getting and the attitude that i am getting. If he ends up being more injured due to his lack of care, i will be contacting my lawyer.

Deep River

My wife goes in PAH! For breathing problems, in the 4 days she's been in there they have moved to 4 different rooms on 2 different floors. My anger for this nonsense is huge and I will not put into words here. On the 4th move she ended back up in the 1st room she started at and the same bed! I considering legal action due to this.

Jim Bennett

I recently had a urgent need to visit the peace arch hospital. The treatment required me to attend the emergency side of the hospital. Haven't been in hospital for many years. Two days later i was released. The professionalism and courtesy i experienced was out standing. My sincere thanks to all concerned. Emergency staff and everybody i came in contact with at ICU. You do phenomenal work under very trying circumstances.

J.C. Conway

Always great since '68 for our family.Three children, five gran children, three great grand children all born here plus surgeries over the years all done here. No hospital is perfect but Peace Arch does an excellent job.

Mia van Heerden

Walked in for x-rays of a badly sprained ankle. I was in and out in 30 minutes and felt that I got really friendly assistance and the help of experienced staff.

Jackie Neufeld

I have nothing but praise for Peace Arch Hospital, the emergency room staff, the ambulance paramedics, and all of the doctors and nurses. Both of my parents have been admitted multiple times for various ailments and we have always been treated with respect and the highest quality of care. How thankful I am we live in a country where our health care needs are attended to by highly trained professionals.

Spent 11 .. Yes ELEVEN hours waiting for someone to assess a lung infection. The doctor confirmed I had the infection and did not treat it. No prescription was written up and no medication was given to me. After waiting 11 hours I was told to go to a walk in clinic in the morning. If I could give zero stars I would.

Came here with my mom for emergency. The long wait is a whole different thing, but the way the doctor treated us was horrible. He was a bald man. After he checked us, he left and never came back to us to tell us if we could leave or stay nor did he come back to brief us/diagnose us. So after waiting for 2 hours, I asked him politely as he walked by if he was done and we could leave. He rolled his eyes and said “I don’t know. Do Whatever the hell you want” and left. I stood there shocked. I understand that as doctors you face lots of stress and overtime. But treating a patient that way is unacceptable. If you don’t like your job, then perhaps it’s time to retire!

Maria Jacobson

My stay in the peace arch hospital at first was not the best, as i stayed two days in the cast room, then two days in hallway4 , but once i was transferred to 2nd Floor my treatment was so amazing, Dr Roff was my physician and i must say her bedside manner was very caring and understanding and extremely professional, i feel that Peace Arch Hospital is an excellent care facillity .

A 1 is to high of a rating for this hospital 1 out of all the staff i met a male nurse was the only friendly staff i saw i am agoraphobic and after fainting at my doctors office ive been having issues with my heart and fainting for awhile my doctor called an ambulance and being Agoraphobic the thought of going to a crowded hospital sent me into a panic attack in the ambulance i was treated like u could stop it at any time and was being rediculous then when i got to the emergency room the nurse there basically told my Agoraphobia is nothing but b.s. and to sit down there are other people there it was sugested i go sit outside then the only doctor that saw me was a shrink even though my dictor sent a letter with me as to what he wantted done then finally a doctor came over just to say go home no test no explanation why i fainted I would not take an animal to this hospital let alone a person

I broke both arms. My radial bone was lodged into my humurous and the x-ray tech bent it and broke a piece off and said they did nothing wrong. My son went in for a broken arm and had to have it reset. He has small veins. Instead of putting a warm cloth over it (I had this done to me at Surrey Memorial), they kept digging and digging to find a vein. My 7 year old son was screaming and crying.

Don't even know if this deserves one star... they are horrible up there. A few days ago I went up there due to pulling a muscle in my arm causing excruciating pain and blacking out. I set up there puking for 20 minutes and then dry heaving for 3 hours till I went to the nurses station and told them to get me something for the pain and nausea. They gave me a dirty look since I interrupted their conversation and after 4 1/2 hours of dry heaving, puking, and horrible pain they finally gave me an anti immfamitorty and pain killer. Two days later now and still in horrible pain because of bruised ribs from vomiting and puking for so long with no anti nausea medication. Never going back.

jamie hall

Terrible i had to go last week was running 102.2 fever the day after a surgery. The admission clerk, porter and xray tech were amazing. However i laid there with the fever not one nurse thought to give me a drink, cold cloth or anything. I emptied my own drains and the nurses were cold and dismissive. Very poor.

Since most of the walk-in clinics were closed yesterday, I decided to go to the emergency because I am developing a tiny watery-filled bumps on my arms and back. I already have a thought that it could be a chicken pox as I also have swollen lymph node, neckache, feeling unwell and fatigue. I was just hoping to get some prescription to shorten the period or lessen the severity, if possible. However, after 4 hours of waiting to see a doctor, he only took a sample and told me that they will inform me when they have the result and it could take 5 days. He also said, it couldn't be chicken pox because I don't have blisters in my mouth. What kind of diagnosis is that? Even the nurse said it's developing and it's pretty obvious! I asked for a sick note and he gave me 1 week JUST IN CASE. Then when I got home, more bumps are coming out up to now! I supposed, by the time I get the result, my whole body is already covered in blisters. Im very disappointed ????

Peace Arch is usually a good hospital; but, it seems like they're getting worse! When I called them in regards to my fiance, the front desk told me that he was discharged(whenhe shouldn't have! The emergency department was sort of helpful, but, they said that the charge nurse was away from the area at the time; and I was asked to provide the information, for the charge nurse(in which she was supposed to be back in a few minutes; and call me right back(but, it didn't happen)! I'm really worried about my fiance! It's like, he's being sent home to die; because, it seems like, his condition isn't serious enough for them! I expected better service and care of him!

Jeronimo Mendoza

Not bad, friendly staff. Get there early though, I came at 11 and waited until about 3. (they only had 1 doctor there) Not much you can do about that.

Four times I called into hospital to book an Ultrasound. Each and every time the "auto attendant" routed me to a number that automatically hung up on me. Called back a 5th time and asked hospital operator to connect me which she did. Department did finally answer and when I said I had a requisition from my Dr. for an ultrasound, I was told that I could not make an appointment but rather I needed to engage my Dr. again to have her send the requisition to Peace Arch directly. This process is directly opposite to the other medical imaging places I've had to go many times previously. Shame on you Peace Arch Hospital for making it so difficult. Past "bad"reviews on this hospital make it clear that they have major problems and now here is another one.

K Afanasiff

I've had a few good experiences with the ER here - haven't had to wait too long yet. Last time was with my son about a swollen eye in the early AM and the nurse (Susan I think...) was exceptional with him, thank you

Gary White

A truly thankful experience during a challenging time with my mother. The emergency staff was of course, busy...but they somehow balanced this with a level of empathy that was truly appreciated. I can't say enough about Dr. Cheyne, a wonderful man, I am forever grateful! Maria, a hand when it was needed most, thank you.

Robert Johnson

Awesome hospital with limited resources. We took our sick kid in, and she had to be admitted for a few days. Peace Arch doesn't have a pediatric ward, so we had to be transferred out to Surrey. Peace Arch was awesome, the nurses were awesome, the doctor (Chung?) was awesome. They don't have a pediatrician in the hospital, but one is on call, and he drove over just for us. We live in Surrey....should have just gone to Surrey ER in the first place. But we didn't know. Don't bring sick kids to Peace Arch. Go straight to Surrey. Surrey has their own separate pediatric emergency; you don't have to wait with the adults.

A S

Didn't have such a great experience here. Only good thing was I was out in 4 hrs compared to the 6 or 8 hrs in SMH. I wish though there was a separate door for people who wanted to get a COVID test done instead of coming in through the emergency way. I think there were two people who came for COVID testing and they were walking around in the waiting room before being taken in. The doctor was discussing my issue so loudly that I could hear them. One nurse was so rude to me. She could learn from the nurse Kevin that works there. He is the best nurse ever. He is compassionate, kind, patient and very understanding. Clearly he loves his job and helping people. I wish they had more nurses like him.

I went to the ER at the request of my doctor after getting some test results back. I went straight over to Peace Arch first thing in the morning. There was nobody in line. The women at the front desk; at ER Registration & Triage both, lacked complete compassion. They were rude, cold and completely abrasive. I didn't want to be there, really the last place anyone wants to be is in the Emergency room. As far as I'm concerned they are representing the hospital. So when someone comes in sick, scared, injured and stressed out.....or whatever the reason may be, they want the person that greets them to do so with a little compassion and understanding, no matter what. It's called customer service / patient care. You of all people should be able to show a little kindness and heart to the patients that walk in the ER. If you can't do that then you shouldn't be there and certainly shouldn't be in the public health industry. PS. once I was admitted and called in to see the doctor, the rest of the staff were great. It was just the ER staff that made it an unpleasant visit.

bob charn

I took my 5 yr old daughter in emergency today cause she had really high fever and after registration we waited 1.5 hr then i decided to ask the nurse on right side (the 1 does the check ups ) and she was so rude she didn't give me simple answer cause all I asked how many people ahead of us ..she was like don't ask me that and I said my daughter is really sick and she told me take to children hospital if I can't wait...I almost wanted to punch the big tall lady .and .right away we left from there..please avoid this hospital if u can cause the people there to make money they don't care about their patients .

Kat D

I had to phone the ultrasound unit 2 times today and both times 2 different women answered the phone in such an unkind and rude manner. I phoned them to politely follow up about an appointment referral from 2 months ago that was not received on their end. After calmly and simply just explaining my situation both ladies responded in such a snarky and impolite way, I understand health care workers are burnt out. However, there are various sensitive reasons someone may need to book an ultrasound, and they should treat patients with more kindness and empathy.

Xining Jin

Julian Medd

All the staff are incompetent, rude and hostile. These nurses and staff lack any sort of compassion and basic comforting skills. Is it really a surprise when a family member arrives at this hospital, stressed, sad, upset, angry and frustrated because their relative is dying and there's nothing that can be done? Apparently it is a surprise at this specific hospital. What an absolute nightmare of an experience. This place is an absolute disgrace, it's a wonder this place can operate under such scrutiny. This place doesn't even deserve the one star minimum, the only positive thing that could be said is about the volunteer staff who are very pleasant. Otherwise avoid this place like the plague and if you're looking for somewhere where you can go for comfort, respect and care you're never going to find it here.

G A

The best hospital ever.....said nobody! Honestly this place cant get any worse even if they tried! I go in for having sudden and sharp chest pains and they get my blood checked and find that my liver enzymes are high. So they do a liver ultrasound and find everything to be normal. Essentially told me to go back home. Well, what about the chest pains, what I was actually there for? The answer was they dont know. Of course they dont because they never addressed the issue rather focused on the slightly elevated liver enzymes which were an incidental finding..not really at all what I was there for. Honestly the doctor there was just getting rid of all the patients and sending them home. How do i know that? Well this hospital is notorious for hallway medicine. So of course you can hear a conversation that a patient and a doctor is having down the hall. Speaking of hallway, they had me at the end of a narrow hallway on a stretcher. After waiting for two hours, and seeing no nurse go by, i get up to go towards the front to ask the front desk where the bathroom was. Literally just as i got up and about to walk down the hall, a nurse began yelling for me to take a seat and someone will be there. Well even an hour later...no one showed up. And dont even get me started on the Staff members who were bickering with each other (left, right, and center). And because i coughed twice while I was in the waiting area at the front, they had classified me as "warm". The 19 hours I spent there I was able to pick up that cold meant low threat patient for covid related symptoms, warm was medium and they called a patient hot if they were tested positive. So because I was classified warm, they apparently thought they had the right to treat me as a second class citizen. Like even when the lady was taking my blood, she told me to turn my face as far off to the other side from her as possible. So basically if she were able to rip my arm off just to take my blood, that would have made her happy. Like seriously, even lifelabs doesnt do that, and this is an emergency room! In a nutshell, if you go to peacearch hospital, be prepared to be misdiagnosed, denied any kind of requests towards nurses (even if its to go to the bathroom urgently), and spend long hours in waiting rooms. (Oh and apparently the nurse at the front said I came on a less busy day, as there were only two other patients in the waiting room). God forbid, what happens here on their so called "busy" day!!

My boyfriend just went and got tested here as he has a cough and can't work until he knows whether or not he has covid and is no longer coughing. He got there and got tested and the lady who tested him told him if the symptoms are mild enough he doesn't need to come and get tested and just to wait out his cough. This is incredibly irresponsible for someone to say especially when you here about people who are asymptomatic showing no symptoms who test positive. I know my boyfriend believes in getting tested if you are showing symptoms which he is. But if she is telling everyone showing less symptoms they don't need to get tested perhaps the next time they don't feel well they won't take as seriously. Incredibly unprofessional Peace Arch...

Had to take my husband to emergency and the staff is very helpful and considerate. It was really busy but the line kept moving and it took 6 hours for us to be finished there. Dr. Joe Chong was professional and handled the situation perfectly. We had to go for a follow up 2 days later and it wasn't busy at all, it took us 2 hours to be finished this time. WORST hospital in all of Canada! I can't believe they let a place like this to operate. Nurses are cold and despicable and treat their patients like crap. I witnessed one of them get aggressive with a patient. Doctors are all emotionless, robots who don't listen to anything a patient has to say without cutting you off and dump you out of the ER in 5 minutes. Surrey Memorial is a million times better even if the wait is a bit longer it's worth it.

The best hospital in Langley or Surrey by light years! Cleaner, better staff and physicians, better facilities, better equipped, better managed, more efficient and effective, and better chances of leaving healthier than you went in. Parking is exorbitant (hence four stars instead of five). Of you have to go to a hospital in Langley or Surrey, choose Peace Arch for your best chance of effective medical care!

I swear to god some of there workers just sit there and do nothing what a joke..... sad

one of the clerks/ receptionist who answers calls at emerg needs to take a chill pill or needs to find another job! Unprofessional and very rude! I work in the pharmacy i Called for dr's name since I need to process a rx couldn't read the drs name and no college or msp #. I heard she was arguing with a porter then vented her anger to me yelling over the phone that i should fax the rx! Sure she needs to tell me to fax it but not to yell at me! no professionalism at all! She went psycho! She needs to take a stress/ anger management class.

Waited 4hrs for xrays, they lost my file. Triage nurse was straight up angry at everyone and everything. I have bronchitis and just need medication to breathe properly. It's a bit of a social club here for the staff!!! Lots of chitchat and exchanging tasty goodies, just mind blowing considering everyone around them is suffering and hurting.

Unfortunately, we visit PAH emergency 3 - 4 times a year and always arrive by ambulance. There is never any wait. The staff is efficient and generally pleasant. I have nothing but praise for the majority of the emergency room staff. Congrats on doing your job well. Thank you

James Linley

The best place to go if you are sick. The staff are so excellent. The nurses too. They all are beautiful. They are so professional. They treat you like they do care about their patients. I gave them a great thumbs up. The doctor also did an excellent treatment on my wife. She's now recovering well.

Terrible hospital

Nick Brown

Brutal, all I can say. 3+ hours for 1 stitch.

I have been to Peace Arch Hospital on a few occasions, one for surgery in November 2019, and although the wait times can be literally excruciating due to what is obviously a staff shortage, the staff were pleasant and professional, even humorous at a time when I could use a good laugh. The surgery went well and I was back to work within the expected time. My ONLY complaint was with the radiologist who was ignorant and rude, embarrassingly so to the young female intern who was there forced to work with him. Other than that, I would recommend this hospital to anyone as they have learned to do a great deal with very little

Came here at 11pm to get some stitches removed. The ER maybe three other people in it, and it took over FIVE HOURS, yes FIVE HOURS to get stitches removed. What a waist of my time for a THREE MINUET task.

Nurses are rude and disrespectful. The whole place is a mess. Used puke buckets and tissues everywhere. Emergency and medical imaging are the worst. Medical imaging will just CANCEL you appointment without telling you. This hospital is a joke. Waste of time and needing new staff.

Jason Bourne

Avoid Peace Arch hospital! The Emergency Room is disorganized and the staff are not helpful. Vancouver General Hospital is busier than Peace Arch and VGH sees more patients in the same timeframe.

A nurse here told me to go home because I was crying from being in pain.

I can't say enough good things about the experiences I've had at Peace Arch Hospital the two times I have been there. From the people at the front, to the nurses, to the doctor who helped me. All were so so professional, patient, and made me feel at ease and not like I was being a nuisance. They listened to my symptoms and didn't disregard them. I was beginning to lose hope because Surrey Memorial had really lacked in customer service when I took my mom there for a recent knee surgery. After surgery they were cold, dismissive, treated patients like they were not worthy of time. My mom was there for 2.5 days for a knee replacement surgery. She would wait for an hour at a time ringing the buzzer for someone to take her to the bathroom. Her food was dry and she was given all vegetarian food (she is not vegetarian) she was given no option or even asked a preference. She said it would just get thrown infront of her like she wasnt even human. Covid did not allow any visitors and on day two I asked for a nurse to call me with an update on my moms progress and no nurse called. In fact when I asked the check in nurse to call me after her surgery was done they said I'll see what we can do. When I went to pick her up she was wheeled out of the room looking like a huge mess with her hair all over and like she hadn't ate in a couple days. Not only that but she had two big bags of clothes on her knee one of which she just got replaced! I quickly grabbed the bags. I had parked in the front entrance and asked for help wheeling her down as I had her two bags and I had no walker to transport her from wheelchair to car. They actually refused to take me down! One support worker said most people just go themselves she'll be ok. I said ok, but I have these bags and I'm wheeling her down. It wasn't until I got upset and my mom who is the most soft spoken person I've ever met said they really treated me badly here. Then the nurse did come with me. Then she apologized that she didn't have lunch yet that's why she was looking for someone else to take my mom down. No one she asked wanted to help us down. It was SO unprofessional! I can't believe this was coming from a hospital worker. After I realized my mom dressed herself that day to go home and put on her own socks and reached for her own bags. Not one person came in to assist her. About 5 days later I had to take her to emergency at Surrey Memorial for her knee because of extreme bruising and she was worried could be a clot. After her xray and the doctor saw her she was asked to go home because she was ok, no clot. She had no walker and wheel chair and they asked her to walk to my car! My mom said her knee was just replaced she could not walk that far and needs assistance to be wheeled to me. Not one nurse took her out instead a security lady did and was rude the whole way. My dad passed away at Surrey Memorial during summer and the treatment there was horrific looking back. How they handled that situation was so so terrible and I wish looking back we made the decision to take him elsewhere to get a second opinion. I don't know a single person who takes their elderly parents to Surrey Memorial anymore because of how they are treated. And after what happened with my dad and how my mom was treated she says she will never go back there for any treatment and any other hospital in the lowermainland will be much better. So I think I got sidetracked but my point is my mom had her first knee replacement at Peace Arch 8 yrs ago. She said the staff nurses and doctors were incredible! The food was hot and she was given meat not just vegetables. She was taken to the bathroom when she asked. She was wheeled out to her car once released without asking etc. After I had my own last experience at Peace Arch I realized my mom was right the difference between customer service at both hospitals is striking. I even thanked the girl at the desk when I left the ER on their great service. Maybe they should train some of the staff at Surrey Memorial on etiquette and service. Thanks great staff at Peace Arch!

Going on 9 hrs, the er wait is disgusting, don't come here unless your on your last legs

My 2yr old swallowed a dice, we went to the emergency at peace arch at 6pm. At 1130pm we are still waiting, it's sad that this is what our medical system has come to. If you have an emergency, I would avoid peace arch hospital.

This is my first review, this must tell you a lot. I woke up this morning not feeling too well. (Body Aches, Headache, Hard Breathing & Unusually Tired) So I decided to drive out to Peace Arch. When I get there I speak to the lady at the information desk and she tells me to go enter through emergency and tell them you are having covid symptoms. I walk through emergency and no one was present for "screening" so I moved forward to the reception desk. She said she'll help us in one minute. After waiting she asks what we're here for. I explain to her my symptoms and as I'm talking to her she starts to roll her eyes, change her tone and in comes the screening lady. The screening person is there to make a judgement call on if you need medical care regarding covid or not. As I'm mentioning I'm having shortness of breath and require medical attention, she cuts me off and hands me a paper with no phone numbers just addresses to visit for covid testing. After my wife mentions to them AGAIN that I'm having all these symptoms and must be seen she said, "If you want to wait it'll be 8-9 hours the choice is yours". I get to the drive thru covid testing sight and they told me they're fully booked and to call 911 if I'm having shortness of breath. Here I am going in a f*cking circle because the service at Peace Arch was horrible. To the screening lady, I think it's time you found a different job, maybe something you enjoy.

My wife has been at Peace Arch for a planned operation and an unrelated emergency visit in the last two months. The care has been of the first order and the consideration by doctors and nurses has been beyond reproach. We recommend and congratulate the hospital and staff on their excellent work.

It took 2 hours for the nurse to provide Tylenol for patient

I cannot believe the negative reviews for PAH. I have been admitted six times plus several visits to ER . I have always received excellent professional care. I cannot thank staff nurses and doctor’s enough. George West

I recently had a heart attack and ended up at Peace Arch Hospital in the ICU for almost a week...where I was lucky enough to encounter a dedicated, competent and compassionate group of people. I will never forget the kindness and respect they showed me during this difficult time...If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have made it...Heartfelt Thanks to the Doctors and Nurses and, EMT's who brought me back to health...Angels All!

Unfortunately, my family and I have needed to spend time in some of the lower mainland hospitals. Apart from the BC Childrens hospital, nothing comes close to the care that we have received at Peace Arch Hospital The service is amazing.

Horrible hospital, should be shut down. At the very least an investigation must be done. A larger portion of the staff verbally and emotionally abuse staff and feel that they are in a higher power to do so. They speak about patients rate in front of other patients in a very rude and degrading manner. Fabricating stories of patients, gossiping and even have the nerve to accuse patients of not even being in any pain and not being mentally stable. Yet they are the ones who behave like the mentally unstable, no sane person behaves in such a barbaric manner. Perhaps all staff should have a mental health check before and during their career. As no one in there right state of mind treats another human in such a degrading manner. They are working with the vulnerable and we need to make sure that we have staff who work in our hospitals that are mentally sane, professional, and are compassionate about helping others. Not just there for a pay cheque as many as I can see are. Perhaps it’s time for a career change. As a lot of them are not as productive and professional as they need to be. I’m absolutely appalled by such behaviour and will never go back to such a hospital and recommend others not to do so as well. We teach our children not to bully others. Yet we as the people have allowed them to get away with mistreatment of patients for so long. They work for us and this is our tax dollars being spent. With the influx of new Canadians there’s no need to keep insecure staff that behave like school yard bullies. That need to justify there insignificance by abusing patients who aren’t feeling well and in a position to fend for themselves. It’s time for the government to intervene and run an investigation and start weeding them out. However there are some diamonds in the rough there.... who are really great at there jobs and are very compassionate and do there jobs on a professional level. However with all that negativity there from the other negative staff it keeps the hospital at a 1 star rating and at a third world level.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! I came, checked in and was sent to one of the Zones. I had to wait for 3hrs before I could get into one of the waiting room. One of the nurses was very rude, she should never be working in the hospital!! Once in the waiting room, I waited for 2.15hrs before Dr. Amir BEHBOUDI came to see me. IT WAS RIDICULOUSLY INSANE!! He guy didn't even spend 5min with me or offered an apology when I opened up and spoke to him. He didn't seem to read to notes taken by nurse at the registration and he showed a total ignorance. Only one nurse, KOMAL, was very sweet and caring. I'm not sure if the hospital is privatised but the service in HORRIBLE and needs big time improvement! What was so disappointing, it was so dead slow that particular day!!
