I wanted to write this review because I am so grateful to have been recommended to Patrick Embley and his Team at Advanced Physio. They are group of professionals who are in my opinion, THE BEST. I have been to many a Physio over the years and Patrick genuine enthusiasm, knowledge, keeping current, abreast of with practices, his visual show and tell manner and teaching me as a patient with use of the skeleton to explain a motor or nerve or muscle ligament , tendon etc, he does it with pride, detail and grass roots easy to grasp explanations and honest opinion shines through to each of his team. he advocates this with in his team and it shows in the way they all gel. So important in health care and the there is alwasy hope feeling you have on entering and leaving your appointment. I've known Patrick for 5 years. I have had Physio, IMS, Ultra sound, Laser ...they provide a range of services depending on what is felt is needed. Just go to the website! I love that he has exercise bikes and equipment that is as is needed and that I can buy teh rubber bands I needed right there and so reasonable. He and his team are upbeat, positive, motivating, and always eager to solve the condition at hand, no matter how busy he/they are.. he is always there for my family and I. Wether sports or work or what ever related they are your team to go to! I have sent colleagues, friends and strangers there. I just cant say enough positive feedback. In this world of social media there are no negatives at all here I can attest to that! If you can book ahead do so and plan so you get the time needed. They are alwasy accommodating as they are organised! They are welcoming, so caring and patient to listen, they address your needs and the follow up with emailed exercise routines where you an see a 5-10 second video of what Patrick Advises is visual, helps you remember and practice the correct moments. Calls to remind you of an appointment and even if you are ok. How nice! Patrick was key and my first line of defence to diagnose my lower lumber issue in 2013 I had a successful micro disectomy surgery 2014 thanks to his recommendation and communications with my great Doctors. His experience and attention to detail, being a good listening and taking action are rare, he has it! Taking time to his to log his notes and via voice notes immediately and diagnosis is truelly amazing . Very thorough and time managed, this is so important in our busy world. You may feel $90 is alot but trust me, it is well worth this and more. Other PT's Ive seen for an appointment and 1-2 hours later hours being left behind waiting 30 - 45 mins past the schedule time, dirty equipment, floors bathrooms, or the PT doesn't remember who you are or what they were doing with you is unacceptable! No thanks! So make the call. Patrick diagnosed my right shoulder rotator cuff early, and again with communications to my wonderful Doctors and Surgeons, I had successful surgery in Aug 2017 . I would highly recommend Advanced Physiotherapy and have done to many friends, family, colleagues and people I dont know but had seen me in a sling or rehabing. If you Physio is away taking a well needed break, there is always someone experienced to assist, if you suddenly can't get in to see you regular PT, I believe he also has Specialist in Arthritis come to the clinic, as well, wow ! I carry Patricks and teams cards with me everywhere. I love my Physio! If you not going o Advanced Physio, you need do be! Its not about cost its about time and quality. I'm in an out within 30 mins. On time , if I need more time they are always accommodating when they can, Jan and Cathy on the front desk are Ambassadors of kind warm feel good service as are the whole team at Advanced Physio. Their staff are very friendly, kind, and compassionate, and their flexible hours worked well with my crazy work schedule. My physiotherapist was David Ko, and he is amazing at what he does. He is very knowledgable, always answering my millions of questions, and showed me many exercises that were easy for me to keep up with on my own at home, that really helped with my recovery. 10/10 would recommend!

Went to Advanced Physiotherapy with a Frozen Shoulder. My left arm movement was very restricted and uncomfortable for my daily routine. The approach of Advanced PHYSIO was very professional and Ms Joanne Ho was assigned to take care of me. Possessing a very pleasing personality, she examined and understood my issues very quickly and organized a treatment and exercise programs that has resulted in a vast improvement in my situation. Her follow up has been very relevant and resulted in modifying my exercise program to my benefit. Joanne is young but very current with prevailing professional practices. Thanks to the skill, patience, and expertise of Patrick Embley, yesterday I triumphantly returned to the mountains after rupturing my Achilles Tendon this past March. With poles in hand, I managed a short hike thru an alpine meadow, thrilling for me to say the least. Over the past three months, Patrick has worked with me to assess my injury and develop a comprehensive rehabilitation exercise plan, modifying along the way as I gained strength and flexibility. Although I still have a lot of work to do, I am confident that Patrick will help me gain back my "ski form" in time for the first snowfall. However, after a session with Patrick Embley at Advanced Physiotherapy, I always walk away with knowledge, a treatment plan and an exercise regime that is guaranteed to work - if I do the exercises which I always do. The exercise program is specially designed for my body and is delivered through this excellent web service that has video clips of people doing the exercises and detailed explanations on how to do them correctly. It is an amazing program. Plus, I always leave the office happier than when I arrived because Patrick is kind, smart and has a great humour.

Advanced Physiotherapy was recommended to me by a family member who is also a PT. I had seen countless other physios and massage therapists for my chronic severe mid back and neck pain. None came close to providing me with the professional, knowledgeable care that I received at this clinic. My therapist Patrick combines his outstanding skills in diagnosis and treatment with compassion, caring, and an upbeat attitude that makes him very easy to be around. He is easy to communicate with and has a great sense of humour. Laughter is healing is it not? On the first visit I received a comprehensive assessment which was followed by treatments where I received IMS, manipulation, and laser. Patrick is present and hands on for the entire treatment. He also supplied me with exercises and stretches online which could be used at home as part of an integrated approach to healing. His treatment plan was always to get me free of pain and back to my regular activities. To that end he was instrumental in motivating me to return to swimming as quickly as possible to, as he said, " keep in front of this with exercise instead of medication." Great advice and thank you Patrick. I am now back doing regular exercise. I do not currently need to be attending the clinic but it is comforting to know that should I require treatment, that a clinic of this calibre is nearby. Patrick and the staff at Advanced Physio have exceeded expectations and been an enormous help to me. Thanks so much!! I recommend them absolutely. !!!

I began seeing Patrick Embley for TMJ pain management a few years ago. From the first appointment I had with him to my last before moving to Germany, I was always impressed by his professionalism, positivity, humour and overall knowledge of the pain I was experiencing. I saw him about once every month for IMS treatments followed by laser therapy. He was always extremely careful with his use of the needles and made me feel very comfortable. (If only Patrick lived in Germany so I could continue my treatments!). Reception staff at Advanced were also very warm, welcoming and accommodating! I just wanted to take a moment to share the wonderful experience I’ve had with Patrick Embley and his front desk staff! I had the misfortune of putting my back out and could not stand, sit or sleep in one position for very long due to the severe pain! His office came highly recommended by a neighbour. The reception staff were very professional, polite and accommodating to fit me in as soon as possible ( within a day of calling actually), going over briefly the different types of therapy available, my choice of course was needling (IMS), very similar to acupuncture but not quite the same. Upon seeing Patrick, he was polite, professional and took time to speak to the possible cause of the problem and took further time to measure movements of my body before making any kind of diagnosis or right into therapy. That day the appt was at least an hour, although I had to come back for follow up due to limited motion in my back and torso I felt much better as far as getting back to normal day to day basic activity that we all take for granted the next few days! With needling (IMS), massage and heat I was almost back to normal after a number of appointments! Having said that a bit later I could move, bend, stretch much better than before my incident at work, all due to Patrick’s professional manner and knowledge he had received from many years of training in UBC etc. I’ve never had such devoted, accommodating staff members that all show they care so much about people in pain! I’ve since had the opportunity to refer many family members, friends or coworkers to Patrick’s practice and all have been very happy as well with the results. I have been to Advanced Physiotherapy for several conditions. Their treatment methods have been customized to my issues, including: Back and Shoulder pain (IMS and strength exercises), torn achilles (range of motion, flexibility, and strength exercises) and a frozen shoulder (ultrasound, IMS and ROM exercises). I have been to other physiotherapists in the past, but will not go anywhere else since I've found Advanced. I definitely recommend Patrick Embley, although have had great success with Noah as well.

Thanks to Joanne and Advanced Physio for the great work done to help me recover from hip replacement surgery. They have a friendly and efficient administrative staff who call to remind you of your appointment 24 hours in advance and take care of all appointments and billing’s easily. As for Joanne my physiotherapist she is super friendly and explains in detail the exercises required in great detail at the clinic as well what to work on when you go home. In addition the exercises are emailed to you after each session with detailed explanation of how to do. I've been to many other physiotherapists in the lower mainland; from burnaby and Vancouver. However, I've never felt as happy with my treatment as I do having it done here by Harleen. She makes the atmosphere of the appointment a happy one. She makes it feel like family.

I have been going to Advanced Physiotherapy for 3 months since a second shoulder reconstruction surgery following an MVA. I am glad that I randomly chose this place because of the location. I appreciate the level of professionalism and academic knowledge offered in this clinic. My therapist Harleen is highly educated and dedicated. She is serious about my recovery, explains what we are doing and she is clear about our goals and my role in continuing my exercises at home in between visits. Everything is precisely documented for records. I also appreciate the compassion I have felt here. Sometimes, I have been in too much pain to move and my session was adapted for immediate pain relief instead. The clinic is very clean, well run and efficient. Staff is friendly, hours are convenient. When my therapist was sick once, the manager Patrick saw me instead of cancelling my appointment. He was obviously educated, passionate and knowlegeable as well. I also appreciate the customized exercises that have been emailed to me on an app.

This is by far the best run clinic I've been to. The receptionists are pleasant and knowledgeable about my ICBC claim. If my appointment is at 10:00, I'm in a private room at 10:00 with my wonderful therapist, Prableen, not far behind. Treatment is mostly hands on and she is with me for the bulk of the appointment. If I do get hooked up to a machine, she checks on me every 5 minutes. I have never felt like i've been forgotten or left wondering if anybody is ever going to get to me. If I could give Prableen and Advanced 10 stars, I would.
