Extremely disappointed with Monica and the services she offered. Paying $180 a session, felt like I was talking to someone who was just waiting for their turn to talk. Out of four sessions, she messed up the times twice. Percentage-wise, that's HALF the time. I was desperate for help, and brought up the sliding scale three times, which she promptly ignored, and carried on with the conversation. It finally took my husband taking the phone (he's more authoritative than I am) to talk to her about the sliding scale. Sadly, this sliding scale was only implemented during our LAST session, which she ALSO messed up the time on.
Despite the short time with her, I felt ignored, pushed by the wayside, and her suggestions on how to work with my struggles were things I could have easily looked up in a EDNOS group on Facebook. It never felt like she was actually listening, just waiting for her time to speak and push suggestions. She took no interest in what I was talking about, and I felt unheard during the three-four weeks she was my therapist.
I finally grew a spine, complained that she was unprofessional for messing up half the times I'd set with her, and that I wanted my money back for the last session. In total, I spent $655 to feel unheard, and for her to mess up the counselling times 50% of the time. I wish I could get my money back, as I'm extremely disappointed with her 'services' that got me nowhere and left me feeling worse off than before I began the session.
I got my $115 back for the last session she messed up the time on, and have moved on to talk to a psychologist who didn't even know what Atypical Anorexia WAS, and who STILL made me feel more heard than Monica.
