Awful bedside manner. Shes very old fashioned and rude. Shes supposed to specialize in anxiety and ptsd but she seriously hold a lot of judgement and is blatantly rude. She made a scene in front of one of her shadowing students and screamed at me to get out of her office and never come back because i was a waste of her time. She had 3 sessions with me and always cut them sooner, i never had a good opportunity to even GET to open up about my problems. She wasnt helpful, insisted on not taking me seriously and directed me to services i had already used before, and bad no luck with. She doesnt like individuals with struggle with addiction and is very old fashioned and judgemental and i do not recommend her services. I was an 18 year old emotionally unstable individual and she basically made me have a panic attack in her office by screaming then demanded me to leave. She additionally did this to my friend a few years later. I do not recommend her services and truthfully hope she learned to modernize her practice and learn to show empathy.

Seen her for a short while, right off the bat pushed me into speaking about things i wasnt ready too & she decided to close my file bc i cancelled an appointment while i was in labour with my daughter and didnt contact back soon enough. trust me that was the last thought on my mind having to learn to be a new mom, maybe if your patients have a lot on there plate you should reach out to them not close there file without telling anyone.

Very thorough , By the end of the first session she confirmed what I had suspected was a previous misdiagnosis and pointed me in the right direction . She didnt "push pills" but suggested new treatments that required commitment and diligence on my part to be a part of my own mental health team. She is a no nonsense professional who is passionate about her work. The only advice I can give is Dont waste her time because there are others that need and want to do the work required to help heal themselves.

Dr. Whitney is only looking to make money. She pushed pills on you and talks down to you. She also talks about her other patients to you. She threatened to call C.A.S if we didn't continue to go to her after 1 appointment. We have now found a better doctor who actually cares about their patients, not one whos just looking to make money off you.

I saw her for a year. If you were severely depressed, she would definitely push you over the edge. She is a pill pusher; extremely full of herself; demanding and calls down the Mental Health Care system in Thunder Bay. If you don't follow through with what she suggests, she gets VERY angry! This woman SHOULD NOT be practicing Psychiatry! I had a previous psychiatrist who was empathic, professional and caring through tele-medicine so I know the difference from good n bad.
