Dr. Sarcar, at first is understanding and empathetic. Unfortunately, that ends quickly and abruptly! I only seen Dr. Sarcar for a few months, and those months were the longest, most unbearable, and unpleasant day's of my life! I moved up here to retire with my husband and I wanted a doctor in closer proximity. Especially, with severe anxiety and panic disorder driving close to 4 hours round trip to my doctor in the city caused more trauma that I didn't need. I found it hard to find a psychiatrist in this area. The doctors that friends referred me to were not accepting new patients, were retiring, or were in Sandusky another drive I just didn't want to make. I got another referral from a local Pharmacy for Dr. Sarcar and of course he was accepting new patients (he will always accept new clients, because he looses so many). Upon my first visit, I was hit by the $350.00 security deposit. Upon seeing him I had been on a regimented medication plan for the last 25 or more years of my life, he ditched those meds, and DID NOT MEDICALLY HELP ME COME OFF THEM, I COULD HAVE EASILY HAD A SEIZURE OR WORSE, HE DIDN'T CARE! After my 1st appointment on new medications, the anti-anxiety medication I had been on Dr. Sarcar did not replace it which left me in sheer anxiety and panic 24/7, I was a wreck! The next visit I had my husband come in with me, to better assist me and explain just what had gone on the previous month. Dr. Sarcar didn't take anything of what we said into account and I was left again with nothing to treat my anxiety disorder! I wholeheartedly believe Dr. Sarcar was playing a cruel game with me. I felt as if he got his jollies off when I nearly begged him for something to calm me down. I also feel that he likes to "think" he is superior to us and it's "his way or the highway". For those patients who are stuck with Dr. Sarcar, my heart breaks for you! I was so shaken and in fear from anxiety that all I did was cry and stay in bed. HE DID NOT CARE!! The new medication Dr. Sarcar prescribed for me spun me into a fear ridden panic ride of which I had never experienced. Dr. Sarcar later diagnosed me with mania which I'd never experienced since leaving his practice! I broke out all over my body in huge red hives and I swelled up so bad, my body was 3 times it's normal size. Both myself and my husband were so worried and left wondering why the "good doctor" wasn't returning our calls? I had never experienced such rude, unorthodox behavior in my life! I called the office several time without any kind of response, I knew then it wasn't going to end well! The receptionist who answers and is vetting the "good doctor'" calls hasn't a clue of what is going on and fumbles to concoct responses. She then haphazardly tells me "well, I guess you'll have to wait to speak with the doctor at your next appointment", and "continue taking the medication". I HUNG UP AND GOT AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY PCP IMMEDIATELY! I wound up having a severe allergic reaction to the medication and was told to discontinue it, and it To begin, a new patient must render a inane amount of $350.00 as a security deposit. This $350 deposit is intended to cover the fee(s) charged for a missed appointment. Due to Covid-19, businesses closing, or a 40 hour per week job being shortened to 20 hours per week, this amount of money is almost unattainable. Also, keeping in mind most patients with depression, anxiety, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, etc... have very limited means of expendable income to be used as a security deposit. These type of economic burdens contribute to those needing medical help to seek "self-medication" or suffer with no help at all. A sizable portion of prospective mental health patients in the Port Huron area are stuggling financially already without the added stress of tendering a $350 security deposit. This unreasonable requirement only adds to their suffering, causing them to self medicate and struggle through life without help partly due to the fact that the small number of psychiatrists in the Port Huron area leaving them with few choices.

Amazing! Knows his stuff and down to Earth. He actually makes eye contact and talks to you instead of just writing our scripts like many precious sea ice has. HIGHLY recommended! Saved my life!!!

Dr. Sacar is hands down the most down to earth and REAL doctor I’ve met. He is honest, unbiased, spends time with his patients, and shares his views with you based on professional opinions and personal experiences relatable to your experiences to help you expand your mind and coping with your situation(s)or emotional stresses. If you’re looking for a Doctor that actually acts like a human being than he would be the one for you.

Agree with the others... he starts out compassionate and seemingly kind and empathetic to whatever ypu are going through. Then he becomes argumentative, rude, condescending, and completely unwilling to listen to your subjective experience with whatever medication. He will take your honest feedback about your medications somehow as a personal insult to him and then he will punish you for it. By means of insulting you (in that subtle “professional” way), gaslighting you, and then by witholding appointments and meds whether you rely on them daily or not. They don’t seem to keep records and when I asked Marsha for a receipt for the payment i made towards a missed appointment charge (that in itself was ridiculous and egregious but hey if you wantto keep your doctor and keep having yhe rights to your medication, you better pay up), she told me “you should have the receipt on your debit cards bill”. I said yes i do but I want an office receipt from your office acknowledging the payment was made and what it was for. That is standard professional procedure, and yet I get treated like a problem patient for wanting a simple receipt. The unprofessionalism here is outrageous. For the longest time I just kept taking it and taking the horrible treatment this doctor gave me each month I was required to go in to see him just to get my medication. I have started having panic attacks before going to him because of how awful he is to me, and I am his patient who came to him after a traumatic brain injury and awful car accident that has left me disabled. In my last appointment he had the audacity to once again attempt to minimize my disability and treat me like just a whiny girl. I could go on and on and “his direct offensive statements but I really am too exhausted to relive it all. I would rather not receive any medication then see this man again to try to get help. If you’re in need of a short term doctor this may be it for you But if you need a good doctor that you trust and that you want to have a long-term relationship with don’t even waste your time trying here. If your mental health issues have anything to do with anxiety or depression, he will only attack you and your appointments and make your condition worse I’m serious

He charges alot of money from filling out paperwork to having scripts filled. Your in the office sometimes an hour after your schedule appointments yet expects you to be punctual and wait for your appointments. Its very dirty. He charges every time he messes up your paperwork. He wants complete control over you and doesn't like it when you get a second opinion. Was good in the start. He said he wasn't going to charge for somethings but then billed me 6 months later for it. You try to pay your co pay but they want you to wait for the bill before paying it. Just a big confusing pain. Not sure if I been charged twice for somethings because of they way the bills go out and the untimely of it all.

Between my daughter and I we have seen Dr. Sarcar since 2017. We have now left him and should have a long time ago. He was amazing we thought. Down to earth really understood and cared. He don’t. I have many reasons and ask u to beware. He always has an excuse why he don’t call u back even if u were in the ER due to ur meds he prescribed. He then berates you for being upset with him. When he does finally see you does he take into account what you have been through? No instead doesn’t even listen to everything and then sends you out the door with the same medication script the ER took you off of because you may have Stephan Johnson’s Syndome to it. If you have family members that see him as well or friends be aware that you and your session will be talked about in their sessions! So much for patient Dr confidentiality! Then you leave him to see a new psychiatrist u request your information to pass onto the new Dr. you fill out the form to release your history he never sends it. You call multiple times to follow up and are given excuses. He won’t send it because how dare you leave. It is our history and by law it’s mine not his. I signed a release yet nothing. So our new Drs have no history we have to tell them everything thanks to this man. We can’t let our drs see the steps over the last 3yrs we took. Why? Is it your afraid what they may find out or see? I don’t really care that information is about us, our lives. I thought you were supposed to help your patients not hurt them. And withholding medical information and diagnosis does not help either of us nor does breaching patient Dr confidentiality! Need more information? Look my name up on Facebook Jen Soehren send me a message.

Dr. Sarcar saved my life. I have been a patient of his for several years. I was hit by a semi in 2004. I had a close head injury and I wanted to take my own life. Not anymore. He is a excellent listener, and very compassionate doctor. His secretary is amazing as well. I would highly recommend him.
